Beautiful soap!! I have never poured my oils/butters into the lye solution, as I do it vice versa. Going to have to try this now. I do tallow and goat milk soap and love it! Some don't realize how much time and work we put into making a great bar of soap and are quick to ask for the recipe. Nope, not happening here!! Thanks for sharing this video.
@@justwingitkreationsbyleigh1301 oil is oil and tallow is a wonderful and sometimes better option, Many BBQers save their fat trimmings specifically to turn into tallow for many things
I don't use oils as are horrible for my skin.I just started using goat milk, but need to work on it to prevent it from turning orange. I also used homemade coffee concentrate and teas, and worked great.I honestly don't find it hard to make, nor taking a lot of time. For 1 lb of fat (6 to 8 soap bars depending on how small I want them), I'm usually done in half hour, which is not that much time or effort, but that's me.
@@justwingitkreationsbyleigh1301 you can use any kind of butters/oils to make soap. Just keep in mind that harder butters such as tallow starts to solidify around 104° and if using a higher percentage you would want to soap at a higher temperature.
What are the measurements for everything exactly? I am new to this and just aiming to not waste any milk from my goats as much as possible :) My son and I loved this video. Thank you!
I'm new to this too. With that said I have had success with this ratio. 14 oz frozen goat milk,6 oz food grade lye,and 48 oz of pure olive oil. You can blend different oils if you want. I hope that helps! Enjoy the goats!
I greatly enjoyed watching your video and I am excited to try this once my doe has kids. I do have a question though. Is there a list somewhere that I am missing of all the supplies/oils that are needed and measurements.
I noticed you said the lye should be in the 60 degree range but your oils were in the 80 degree range. When making cp with milk, what temps should the lye and oils be at to mix together? I read to keep both between 75-95 degrees and to only combine the lye mix and oil when they are within 10 degrees of each other. I'm about to try to 1st goats milk cp recipie and am watching videos to get extra tips before i start.
Free recipe all over the internet : soap queen, Ozark, Lovely greens, Holly’s Soapmaking (love her skills) makes lovely soap too. She uses a lovely blend of oils and butters in all of her soaps. Just substitute full water portion for frozen goat milk and follow her steps. Add your lye very slowly to the frozen goat milk and keep the temperature low 85-90 *F to prevent the milk from scorching. Combine Milk/solution to oils at 80-85 degree. Stir, blend in short bursts. Done
Goat Milk and Orange Soap Recipe Ingredients: • 16 oz. coconut oil • 16 oz. olive oil • 12 oz. goat milk (frozen in ice cube trays can be easier to work with) • 4.4 oz. sodium hydroxide (lye) • 1 oz. orange essential oil • 2 tablespoons poppy seeds • 1 tablespoon dried orange peel bits • Coloring mica powder (amount per your desired color intensity)
great vid, is it possible to get the recipe for this soap? I tried using soap calculator but it turned out terrible. I must be missing something. I see you used a scale. Do you have weights for each ingredient? Thanks
That was so amazing. Did you have to spray with alchohol the top before you put the orange and poppy on? Or did it just stick to the loaf on it's own from being in the fridge 30 minutes and having a pudding consistancy?
Do you have a link to any of the supplies or ingredients? I’ve seen some of these on Amazon but I’d like to use any affiliate links to support your channel if that’s available. Thanks!
I have wanted to make my own soaps and so I am wondering about the lye. If it is caustic to put in, how does it become safe to use the soap after. Do people make soaps without it or is that even possible. Can you also make soaps for laundry or dishes too? Thank you for your considerations and well done on your video. It was informative, not too long and nicely done :)
