@@southofsanityfarms5752 Can relate. I do everything under my sister's LLC so people think a woman made the soap. It is what it is; just shut up and pay me.
I bought the soap cutter from brambleberry.com. It has held up well over the years. Their replacement strings are high priced but Amazon has some for that are much cheaper.
I use a food grade lye from essential depot. I have been using their lye for a while and it has always been great. There is actually another video on our channel where I make some lavender goat milk soap and share every detail of where we purchase our materials. Hope you can check it out
Great video! Can you share where to buy in bulk? I make regular soap for all of my family but would love to make goat milk soap. I am buying small quantities but to save money would love to buy bulk. Thank you!
Bulknaturaloils.com (Jedwards) has the best prices on the oils that I use. Shipping can get costly but even with that factored in, they are still cheaper and all of their organic oils are USDA certified. Be aware of some sellers on eBay that list it as organic but the package only says "natural". Thanks for watching our video. If you are looking for essential oils, checkout wfmed.com and new directions aromatics. I price shop between those 2 to see who has the better price on whichever so I am needing. Good luck
Also, if you aren't quite there to buy the bigger sizes of oils, maybe you can find someone near you in the same situation and y'all can order together and then split the costs.
Thanks for watching our video. Glad you enjoyed it. For that soap, I used bentonite clay. I like to mix some sort of clay with my essential oils. It seems to help hold the scent.
We'll it took a tree accident to make me realize that I'm not invincible and probably can't do hard physical labor for the rest of my life without being decrepit. I love making soap and it's easier on my back, so win/win.
@@erandeniherrera7811 I use a lye calculator to figure the exact amounts. There are several free ones out there that are easy to use. We have another soap making video that shares that info along with every brand product I use and who has the best prices along with a recipe.
Not sure what it is in grams but I use about 1 oz of essential oil per 25 oz of oils. And that varies based on different essential oils. We don't use any fragrance oils so not sure how much you would use of those.
Several factors went in to selecting these oils. It was a lot of trial and error finding a bar that cleans, lathers, moisturizes, and lasts a while. But also, what oils are more easily available and the cost of them factors in as well so that my prices can be competitive too.
I don't get scorched milk unless it gets over 130. Maybe even 140. How many batches have you made? Any chance your thermometer could be faulty? Some of my batches get a little soda ash on the tops but it just gives them a frosty look and after the first use it's gone so I don't worry about it. Wish I could be of more help.
Hi Steve!!😅

Thanks for the kind words, Laura! We'll continue to do our best to share our journey with everyone.

Hoping to watch you make a batch on my next visit in June!
We'll look forward to it!
Great video! I'm hoping to make some soon, after I try turmeric soap. Your explanation of the process is easy to follow.
Thanks for the kind words. We appreciate it!
A regular dude making soap; so I'm not the only one.

Where did you get the soap cutter. It is great.

How much Fragrance need per gm oil?
Which fragrance better for goat milk soap?

What does the natural clay do?
It gives the soap some color, can make the soap a little exfoliating, and helps retain the essential oil scent.
I'm looking for a recipe for a liquid bath soak using frozen goats milk. Can you help?
Sorry but we dont make anything like that. Best of luck finding it.
Why do you use that particular mixture of fats and oils?

How does the milk not scorch since it's over 100. When I keep it under 100 I get internal soda ash but over 100 scorches with goat milk
