Just made a double batch of this tonight! I made soap for the first time Thursday and have made 6 batches since! All following your recipes and instructions only! I’m literally so excited that I can hardly go a day or two without making a new batch or two!😍
I made soap using your recipe for soap with daffodils The color is actually beautiful :) I did something similar with forsythia - the color is very similar :) I'm from Poland and I follow your channel with pleasure🙂
These look beautiful! I am excited to try this. My last two batches haven't gone too well😅. I do have a question! I would like to stamp my soap. At what point in the curing process should I do that? Thank you!
I just used this recipe this morning and everything came out exactly how you show it on the video i cant wait for the two days to see if it looks like you'rs
@@Lovelygreens I used a different one that i thought was yours it did not turn out so great. I did put in honey from our bees instead of essential oils I put it in at trace which didn't seem to change the soap process at all
Thank you so much for giving the recipe. the other pages I looked at were useless as they showed what they were doing without giving one the recipe so it was just a nice watch but a waste of time. thank you
You can but there's a high chance of it getting a dark spot in the middle (partial gel). You have to cool the soap in the refrigerator after pouring and make soap at a lower temperature.
Great simple recipe, just starting to make soaps so this was very helpful. Could the method of adding goats milk to the lye be used for other recipes as well?
Sorry, no to the oil substitution. Too much sweet almond oil in soap recipes usually causes early rancidity in the bars. The lye and water amounts in this recipe are a 50/50 mix. Or are you talking about masterbatched lye solution?
It would be better for you yo use a recipe created specifically for tallow and instead sub half the water out for goat milk. Here's a tallow recipe of mine that you can use lovelygreens.com/simple-tallow-soap-recipe/
I use food-grade lye supplied by a UK soapmaking company called the Soap Kitchen. Food grade lye is what you need to ensure the longest shelf life possible for your soap.
I'm curious how many batches you made before you successfully had a batch that came out like this? I tried it specifically made sure my temperatures were exactly within 9° of each other and immediately it seized up when I started blending. The lie solution was a couple of degrees cooler than the oils but they were within 5° of each other
This is a simple soap recipe, and it comes out perfectly every time for me. I suspect that you might be using a fragrance oil instead of an essential oil - they're notorious for causing seizing. One way to find out is to make this soap without fragrance and see.
@@Lovelygreens great idea! I figured I'd try it again, just to be sure it wasn't the temperature that was the issue. The bottle says that essential oils but I know it doesn't look the same as my name brand essential oils so it's possible that it's a cheaply made one or is in fact a fragrance oil. Thanks for your encouragement
That would be a different method, but you're welcome to use this recipe for it. Make sure to mix the lye and frozen milk in an ice bath to keep it very cool.
@@Lovelygreens I am sorry, I meant what was the temperature of the oils “before” or when you were putting the milk in the oil? I saw the temperature of 103 after the milk was added but not before. In addition, can the milk be cold or at room temperature ? Thank you 😊
I don't know why my milk soap have lye crystal in the final bar soap despite the fact that I have been stirring the lye solution (full milk) so carefully 😢
For home use, it doesn't have a specific shelflife. However, if you use old ingredients to make it, there's a higher chance of the soap going rancid quickly. Rancid soap smells bad, and that scent lingers on your skin if you use it. For selling soap, the shelflife is dependent on the ingredients you use. The closest best-by date is the best-by date of the soap.
We've raised pygmies for a few years now and I happen to come across a great price on two dairy goats who needed a home. We are getting a gallon a day so I thought maybe I should go back to soap making. I never made goat milk soap and I was hoping this would be a way to use up some of this milk. But when you look at the ingredients to make a batch of soap, the only way to make this economically feasible is to buy everything in bulk. Lye is expensive! Nothing is inexpensive anymore ....Next thing you know you spent $400 and you're only using 2 oz of goat milk to make a batch of soap. I'm not so sure this is the way I'm going to use up my goat milk. 😂

Your excitement makes me smile - it's so fun to discover soapmaking! Have a great time, and I'm sure you'll have loads to give as gifts this year :)
Thanks so much for your lovely video ! I appreciate your calm demeanor and rate of speech and the music, etc. Now all I need is a goat lol
You are most welcome :) Many supermarkets stock goat milk, and there's the farmers market, too. Having goats sounds fun, though 😁
I promise you, feeding and caring for a goat is far more expensive than just buying a quart of goat milk!
Thank you for the step by step, non confusing video...my soap turned out wonderful, and I owe it all to you♡
So right! I have never frozen my goat milk and been doing this passion for decades. Thank you for sharing this time saving tip :)

Thank you so much, and YES, daffodil flower soap is such a lovely yellow. The color lasts indefinitely, too!
Forsythia turned out to be a similar color :)
I'm waiting for your next ideas
you inspired me once again
Thanks 🙂
I'm SO excited to make this soap tomorrow! I've been gathering ingredients and supplies and am finally ready! Thank you, Tanya!
You are so welcome!
Thank you☺️
Where do you get your essential oils?
In the UK, I prefer Naissance essential oils
Wow nice sharing❤❤❤❤
I love making and using goatmilk soaps ❤
They're so incredibly creamy 💚
Thank you for sharing this recipe! I have been interested in making goat milk soap for a long time and this recipe is great for beginners like me❤
What are the percentages of your 4 oils in your soap? I’m brand new and I’m trying to figure all of this out. I love this video!
These look beautiful! I am excited to try this. My last two batches haven't gone too well😅. I do have a question! I would like to stamp my soap. At what point in the curing process should I do that? Thank you!
It depends on the recipe. Most can be stamped when you unmold them. If the recipes are too soft, you can wait a few days to get clean stamp marks.
Hey! Thanks for sharing. I’m so excited to make it. What can I replace shea butter with? More olive or coconut butter?
If you're a beginner, I don't advise trying to change the recipe at all. Do you have a shea allergy?

@@Lovelygreens my ingredients are arriving in the post and soon, soon I will have some home made soap! Yay😄
Hi, wondering if I can just use olive oil? Do I need to use the castor oil as well?
I love the simplicity of this process. Can you use this in a loaf? When would you cut it?

To the lye? Yes!
Recipe calls for distilled water, can I use well water?
Question. Can I use breastmilk for this? I have a bunch from when my son was a baby and I hate to waste it.
Yes, you can for personal use :) Some people love breastmilk soap and say it's even creamier than goat milk.
@@Lovelygreens thank you!
Yeah I’m not looking to sell soaps. I just want something for my own use.
I've wondered the same thing! I'd love to know how it turned out!
What is the material of the spatula you are using when interacting with the lye solution?
Silicone
Can I use 50/50 lye solution instead of dissolving the lye un water..also can I substitue the olive oil for sweet almond oil?

how is this one different than the goat soap recipe on your website that has 107g lye?
It's a smaller batch
My goats milk is already frozen. Can I use the whole amount of goats milk and no water? I have made goat milk soap that way before.
That would be a different method, but you're welcome to use this recipe for it. Make sure to mix the lye and frozen milk in an ice bath to keep it very cool.
Can I use goat milk from the grocery store? I noticed my local grocery store recently started selling goats milk.
Yes, absolutely
That is my plan! I know people have goats, but I don’t know anyone and it’s easier to get from the store than to track down goat farmers!
Van I just double the recipe amd if so will it still turn out fine or should i just do 2 separate batches? Im new to this.
Go ahead and double it, and it will turn out perfectly. I recommend using the cavity molds for this recipe, though.
Thank you so much.
I use this recipe all the time.I double it and I use only loaf molds and it turns out fantastic.
What was the temperature of the oils when you added the milk into the oil?
I'm pretty sure that I show the temperature reading in the video.

@@natureescapesoapsalso wondering what temp the milk should be
Room temperature for sure😊@@natureescapesoaps
What temp should the goat milk be at?
Straight out of the fridge is fine. Don't warm it.

Lye crystals? Please email me a photo, and maybe I can help figure this one out with you.
I dont see last receiptes ho to find the info of ammount
It's in the video text description.
How much extra superfat does this now make the soap, and is this the reason that i see people need to take days for it to stop being sticky...
It's just 5%. I rarely make soap with more than 6%, really. There's just no need when you're making a good balanced recipe.
What's the measurements on ingredients?
They're in the description
Can someone tell me the ingredients quantity???
Click on the description tab and she lists the ingredients and amounts she used
After 2 days your bars are soap! No need for gloves. The curing process just gives the bars time to dry out & harden.
Gloves keep fingerprints off. No one wants to see someone's grubby-looking fingerprints all over their soap bar 😂
Hello ! Do you think I can do this with breast milk 🤭?
Thank you for this recipe. I’m making this now. Can you tell me the shelf life for this recipe?
