Honestly, the fact that you're 90% deaf is irrelevant if not to your advantage. You focus so much more on the video capturing I feel like, and also display far more emotion than anyone else would on a tutorial or video in general. Your videos sometimes don't have any sound at all, and it's not needed at all, which is great! You get right to the point and I think that's why your channel is so popular! Keep it up Mitch!

Excellent advice, and very well explained. I'm a TV Journalist who works with professional full sized cameras and pro-photographers. The reason their video always looks quite steady is because those big cameras rest on the shoulder, and the photographer's body cancels out a lot of the jitter. With a small camera like the GoPro, your advice is perfect. If you use a helmet mount, the video is steady, but you never know when you want to run and still have control over your camera!!!!

HAHA this is pretty good advice... Give that Go-Pro a good long kiss for steady video.
Next Go-Pro accessory should be a mouth guard with a Go-Pro mount so you can do it hands free ! Quick, someone with a 3D printer cook up a prototype.

Very helpful! Reminder to those trying this for the first time: this technique means you will have breathing and other general face-related sounds very prominently in your audio. If you need the original audio from your footage and are relying on the GoPro's integrated mic, be very careful and test this first.

brilliant. i have been a video enthusiast for over 10 years now, and never have i thought about holding the camcorder up against my mouth for stability. weird thing is, years ago, when i used to film with an actual super 8 camera, i used to hold the camera up to my face against my cheeks, so that i could see through the viewfinder better. great stuff.

Just did my first shoot with a GoPro in which we had no tripod. (Long story.) Couldn't order a GoPole grenade grip in time. Watching this helped quite a bit. Many of your videos solve a common problem, but I think this video could prove even more useful to anyone with the intent to create quality content. If you video is shaky and you're not even looking at the object of interest, you will look just as professional as every other 12 year old on RUclips. The difference is effort.

Great tip idea. Must do this for sure. I have used a loop of string tied to my SLR. You stand in the loop with feet apart and pull upwards to make a triangle. its acts as a cheap tripod. Your idea is simpler and you look where you point the camera. Brilliant.
