I quite liked this short little song! I never heard of it, and the title of the song confused me a bit before I heard it, but as soon as it started playing, it all made sense to me. ABBA are really good at lyrics, they certainly manage to put words into poems. I also enjoyed the drums and the bass beat in this one! Such an underrated gem! Your thoughts?

So interesting. And here I thought I know all ABBA songs. Never ever heard this song before. I just love how easy going and happy this song sounds. And yet we all know ABBA. There harmonies are so smooth and yet so complex and absolutely not easy to sing. They are masters of easy sounding and yet complicated song. It is amazing

"Bang-A-Boomerang" is criminally underrated and underheard! It's pure sunshine, love, and happiness in musical form. Anybody who can listen to "Bang-A-Boomerang" and not smile is somebody you don't want to be around.

"Bang-A-Boomerang" is a song by ABBA, first released by Svenne & Lotta (both Swedish and English-language versions). Svenne & Lotta competed with this song in the Melodifestivalen 1975 :) The song was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson

ABBAMAN..... Bang is definitely a highlight from this album it's definitely one of the happiest tunes ever written and recorded.😊 At this point in their career they really developed their sound and it shows and every aspect this is just a perfect up-tempo pop song and it's great to see them having so much fun those were the days my friend

So glad to see You, dear GivenToe
pleasantly surprised of this ABBA song
    "Bang a boomerang" (1975)
it is so nice and powerful in the fantastic voices of Agnetha & Frida
It was a single only in
    France Belgium Norway Australia
"Bang a Boomerang" was composed by Björn & Benny for other artists
to the Melodiefestivalen 1975 in Sweden (the previous to Eurovision)
that is why the song is only under three minutes, by Eurovision rules
(as "Ring Ring" in 1973 and "Waterloo" in 1974)
It's finally in third place and after these ABBA recording this version, that is amazing!
The video was made in Stockholm on a windy day in April 1975
in 2 days ABBA made videos for 4 songs from your third album, just tittled "ABBA":
    "Bang a Boomerang"
    "I do I do I do I do I do"
    "Mamma mia"
"S.O.S." (the only of these recorded before in August 1974)
these song is happy, to enjoy,
    with lyrics about pure love
is one of my favourites in the self title album ABBA
wich is one of my favourites ABBA albums too
I'm so happy to see you following the videos and perfomances of ABBA
next is "Rock me" (is like you show at the end of the reaction)
You have some TV perfomances to choose
I wish you a great start of the week
    My best regards to You
    from my city and country
    Buenos Aires, Argentina
    South América
    GOD bless You
PS: several images of this video
were taken in the compilation for the official video
of ABBA's comeback in "I still have faith in You"

Not a well known or unknown song, but was featured on the Stars on 45 (Abba Medley) single, released in 1981.
Stars on 45 were a Dutch Studio Band which released 3 (I think) singles during 1981. They also released an album featuring hits from The Beatles. All 3 singles had the typical disco beat. Good to dance to - LOL!

Love Bang-A-Boomerang! One of my favourites from their first Greatest Hits package (with the iconic image of the two couples on a park bench). I was 12 years old when my younger sister got our dad to buy it, and fell in love with ABBA as no other band at the time had impressed me with so many beautiful tunes: 'So Long', 'SOS', 'Waterloo', 'Fernando', 'Honey Honey' 'Ring Ring', 'He Is Your Brother', 'Another Town, Another Train', 'I Do I Do I Do...' and 'Mamma Mia' all sounded great then - and they still sound great nearly 50 years later!

Love this song, I always find it happy and joyous. ABBA prepared this for the 1975 Melodifestivalen and gave it to their friends and label mates 'Svenne & Lotta' who finnished 3rd with it. The lyrics are a little clumbsy (to say English wasn't the groups first language and Bjorn hadnt yet become as prolifically genuius in his texts) by the gist is using the trajectory of Boomerang ~ if you throw it its supposed to come back ~ with love. If you give love you will recieve it in return. Personally I love how happy they are in this video, and so natural and unstarry. It was actually released as an ABBA A~side with SOS as its B~side in France! The video was one of 4 made for the ABBA album by celebrated film director Lasse Hallstrom on a budget. This is the only ABBA performance of the song.

I think it's been underrated as people felt some of the lyrics were a bit silly (dumb de dumb dumb, hum de hum hum), but underneath, they do make an important and positive point. Jag tar en chansning här ... Jag tror att du är svensk, kanske t.o.m. från Umeå? (Jag skymtade boken om ölbryggning i din bokhylla ...)
I just loved Your reaction to this Super Happy Pop Explosion - one of ABBA:s best Pop songs ever. The driving Bass Line, the rolling drums, the Smashing Chorus! Wow! Everything is Better and Better throughout this Song! This group ABBA, Oh My God - how did they do it? Super song after Super song?
I actually saw ABBA live in my Swedish hometown of Umeå january 1975, just when their Meteor career was taking off! Iḿ a Lucky guy, although then in the 70:s I played in a Prog Rock Group and we were supposed to "Hate ABBA" - so I did, sort of ... But I knew in my Heart that their songs had great Harmonies and were quite catchy. So through the Years I started to really Listen to them and today I think their songs are Awsome, both the music and the lyrics.

It wasn't a single because it was first released by Svenne & Lotta and became a hit. That's why people don't know about this ABBA song.
I like it a lot but there's something in the mix or production that makes it a little noisy.

Always liked this song. I've mentioned this elsewhere, but the cassette version of this album had this track fade out half way through at the end of side 1, then you flipped over the tape and it would fade back in at the start of side 2. I guess this helped stop excessive waste of tape. It was weird though!

    Tommy: hold my beer...)

The chorus is so cringe. Maybe Björn had had a couple of hash brownies? Or thought he was writing the next Swedish Eurovision entry? Either way, I'm too embarrassed to listen to what is otherwise a pretty neat song.

It was a song that was sung in Swedish by Svenne and Lotta in Melodifestivalen. It got the third place and didn't make it to Eurovision.
That's why it became a Abba song in English. If Svenne o Lotta had made it to Eurovision the would had sang this version. I dont know if they recorded it in English

    Hello Giventoe,
why no reaction about the Abba song "Eagle"???
For me the best song and the instruments are just wonderful...a little bit psychedelic.
You will be surprised,i bet on it!😉🙂

But the long album version and NOT! the Video version, because the guitar part at the end of the song is very special...completly different compared with all the other Abba songs.
That's what i mean with psychedelic.

He will react to Eagle when he comes to 'ABBA - The Album'. At the moment he reacts to the album 'ABBA' and he does all reactions in chronological order, so the next album will be 'Arrival'.

@@Lisa-M Ok, thank you very much for pointing that out. I didn't even pay attention to the fact that Giventoe rated all Abba albums chronologically. So don't get me wrong, I think Abba is really good too, but that only refers to the really good songs and Eagle simply belongs there It's just a matter of taste and I can't do anything with many of Abba's songs because it "only" sounds like Abba. The song Eagle is on a completely different level and you notice that clearly when the last two minutes start and you Listening to these two minutes again and again.Giventoe will certainly do that too and his mouth may hang open again, he gets up and goes back through the door, closes it to recover and comes back speechless.Yes and sounds right then again these two minutes😁✌️👍
