How can you not fall in love with these two girls, that's why many of us older lifelong fans can't forget them.We are etenally hooked.Abba is such a longlasting dope!
This early deep cut is a big fave of many Abba fans.Technically the first half of the live video is montaged but the sound is really live as well as is the wonderful footage from their explosive '77 tour.
This song brings tears to my eyes everytime. God Bless Agnetha Faltskog and Frida Lyngstadt! Nobody does vocals like them. Tack so mycket Sveriege! (Thank you so much Sweden)!
The live performance is better because it makes you feel like you are there and the girls are singing to you. Awesome live performance, awesome song and of course, an awesome reaction video!
The Girls from ABBA have an incredible way of drawing you in during a performance, holding on tight and only letting you go when they are good and ready.
This live performance is a video from "ABBA. The movie" 1977 if I'm not mistaking. So that's why there is some montage, some reuse and the view of the shore with seaguls in the end. The ladies deliver their songs selflessly. One can drown in this ocean of sounds and emotions. And they are unbelievably beautiful.💓
I've always loved this songs and especially the power in Agnetha's voice. The harmonies are incredible. The ABBA third voice can never be matched. Keep up the good work with your reviews.
Hi David I absolutely adore this song it instantly warms your heart and soul it’s so beautiful and emotional ❤ The live version is amazing you feel as if both Agnetha and Frida have put there full souls into this masterpiece ❤
It’s one of my favorites songs. Awesome! It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. The live version it is even more awesome! I wanne thank you for all your comments on the Abba songs! You say the things manny real “old” Abba fans feel. Thank you so much for sharing!! ABBA always ❤ A great mission in your life 😉
Hey David! Yep, every song they performed was amazing! You could hear every word clearly...harmonies on point all the way and their personalities shone..Being there was like a dream and you didn't want it to end. Yes, they had backup singers which you will hear predominantly on their Abba the album with Australian design on the album cover and Voulez Vous of course!😁 Woke up early and found this reaction...Thankyou ! Ciao bello ! 🤗❤🦋
this is why Agnetha is my favorite and ABBA is my favorite group ever, now this video was edited in that way because they live song was shorter than the original, so they placed the verse twice, that's why that part is repeated, there is a performance in a program I think in Germany 1976, where they sing this song, and Agnetha also shines a lot there, it would be great if you reacted to it.
We don't know how much time of the song was really filmed but in 'ABBA-THE MOVIE" only half of the song was shown,(same way as 'Fernando").Neverthless the recorded sound of the whole song was also sneaked by bootleg releases.Who ever saved this just 'thank you guys".We are lucky.
one more comment, about this song, and the next one Agnetha always shines in breakup songs that allow you to tell a story, where she can best convey her facial and body expressions. But here we can also see her shine and enjoy her, she looks very happy singing about love and hope. And how can you not fall in love with Agnetha when you see her so radiant and spreading joy and happiness? and those "nanana" so prolonged until the end in the fade out I believe unreleased ABBA songs although it seemed like a filler for the song In reality I feel that it is the song of happiness, there are no more words to add to describe so much joy and love, and that is what that enthusiastic and even euphoric final 'nanana' conveys. The following song is the last one from the album, and at the same time its first single: "So long" (1974) a failure on the charts, but a great song There is an outstanding performance, in the TV special "Made in Sweden" (1976) Don't look for another, all the fans are going to tell you, hahaha
Lovely video, David. Thank you. Best singers in the world. This is one of my favourite songs by ABBA. Agnetha's voice goes straight to my heart. It was a single in Australia.
I saw ABBA singing this song at their concert in 1977. I have travelled to London to see ABBA Voyage four times. Never have I felt such joy seeing them in their youth, in motion capture in London. Thank you for sharing. Sending best wishes from Melbourne Australia. XO
Abba, that rarest of bands that can sing a happy song that 💔 totally breaks your heart, full off emotion and. They just make you want to listen, repeat, sing and occasionally cry ! We will never see their like again
This is my most favorite Agnetha lead vocal. Everyone always says "The Winner Takes It All" but I much prefer the way she belts it out here! TWTIA is an amazing song, but it's a little more "talk singing" in some places.
It's why I've always been drawn to Agnetha. There's something to do with the way she delivers the power, almost like it feeds off the emotion she generates. I really don't know. There's a gentleness that sounds angelic, sweet, innocent - but it can also sound pained, hurt, melancholy - then she drives up the power, and it magnifies the previous emotion, but somehow she always makes it sound genuine and real. I completely understand what Bjorn said about falling in love with her voice, before he even laid eyes on her.
@@davidwilding7405 She has an incredible way of transferring feeling in to her vocals. Even with "The Day Before You Came" , which some people complain about, you can hear describing how mundane life used to be in a way that feels very genuine. And little bits of power sneak through there. Like she can't hold herself back. I get goosebumps on "the train back home again"
There are many relatively forgotten or unknown songs. Thanks for helping us to rediscover them! I'm always thrilled when I see a new Abba review from you. I'm determined to get to London next year to experience their Voyage concert. I want to get to the Stockholm Museum in the same trip, now that it's upgraded to document their new technology.
Yes this was from Australian concert in Abba the movie, both verses weren’t shown in the movie but the full live recording was found so someone has edited the movie track to accomodate the full song, just love the live version 🤩❤️
Definitely one of Agnetha’s best vocal performances on an ABBA record. The live performance is somewhat slower in tempo but sounds great. This song I feel compares to the Carpenters Goodbye to Love especially the way it fades out at the end.
Gotta keep the ABBA coming. Came across a abba song before they were a group the 4 of them singing California Here I Come. You will never find on any album. Early 70s maybe. If you play it sometime there is one around 8 minutes long. That’s the one you want to watch, especially if you watch the girls interact with the guys and the guest. Back to this one. Just Fantastic, abba so good you have to hear twice. In the back ground vocals one of them is Thomas Ledin. I don’t know if he’s seen in this video but in future ones from Australia he’s there. Glad you did. Makes me happy today was a abba day. Thanks for a nice one this afternoon.
I fairly sure that there is footage from the Sydney and Melbourne concert cut together for ABBA The Movie ….the first part was definitely Sydney because it poured with rain….other parts I’m certain were Melbourne because I was the audience. That song still gives me goosebumps…its was so amazing to hear live. It its still one of my favourite songs.
There's a video from a tv-show also with this song that I like really much. You can see how young they was and so lovely suport from Anni-Frid to Agnetha in the start. And wow Agnetha (in the second vers I believe it is). A really recomend you to see and listen to it.
that was quite enjoyable? you're kidding. That was a superamazing highly emotional live performance. WHAT A VOICE Agnetha - OMG. I don't know any singer nowadays which could come close to that. She's got power - and nails every note. WOW 🥰
It was bucketing down with rain David. Could have been rain on the lens or camera shake through holding an umbrella with one hand😊 Whatever, I am sure whoever put the best footage they could. The lack of "na na na na" footage suggests it might have been an amateur who cut it off early, or a professional trying to save film for the rest of the show😊 Makes you wonder what other footage of ABBA may be out there somewhere! Thanks again for another great reaction. Oh, AND cut for the Movie 😁
My bro, how are you? Well, finally ABBA again. For me this song is one of the bests of this album. I love it and I was affraid with your facial expression in the first 10 seconds of the song. I was thinking that you weren't enjoying it. But then I saw I was wrong fortunatly. I was thinking "How can he doesn't like it??" hehehehhe. I love also the live performance and I noticed that in live the song is a little bit slower, didn't you notice that? This is a great ABBA song for sure. Thank you for your reaction. See ya soon, bro.
Hey brother! Yeah I will keep em coming 😁 Might be a while in between but I really want it to be extra special for you guys 😍 Yeah thats my typical ”analyze this face” but no need to worry, I really enjoyed this song 🙏🏻 Yes it was defenately a bit slower, I agree. I liked that. Gave it more emotion. Thank you bro, and take care, until next time ❤️
Like the song title says, I've been waiting for you to get to this track. This is (literally) my absolute favourite song of all time. It's number 1 on my ABBA playlist (which also means it beats everything else too.) This is just such an amazing song with beautiful vocals. I can't get enough of it. And even if you somehow manage to listen past the vocal, the backing track (melody and instrumentation) are just awesome as well. I've learnt to play this song on the keyboard and I can tell you that in each of the verses, there is a place where Agnetha has to go up more than an octave in range. Not many female artists can do that as flawlessly as this wonderful lady.
Basically what they did the live version is from abba the movie but only a short version so someone has used a live bootleg recording St the start of the song and then threaded it together with the second verse
@christianoazzuro6711 it is live yeah and it was amazing such a shame we didn't have the full version of that beautiful song but at least someone has gone to the trouble of recreating that 🙏
The typical "abba sound" on the studio albums where created with enormous amounts of overdubbing, moog synths, and gigantic analog mixers. How do you re-create that on a live stage? They had *heaps* of instruments playing along and extra vocalists. Simply insane!!
Agnetha's crystal-clear voice shines even in the live performance! Especially in the parts like "manage to the hit the ceiling", "you'll never want to leave me"
All four members of ABBA were tremendous, but there is something about Frida that I love more than all the rest. She is so completely honest, beautiful, and truthful that I cannot take my eyes off her. Wonderful humanitarian person too. Love you Frida.
Amazing vocals amazing harmonies and amazing song writing and of course your amazing reactions lobed the the recorded version and LOVED the live version even more 🎉
Wow I've been waiting for this one being reaction from you David, it's in my top 5 of Abba songs, and in my top 10 all time songs from every artist s, groups, etc , brilliant reaction as always, and a big Thank you from all Abba fans x
Greeting from down under Australia! I'm new to your channel, great reaction to simply a beautiful song from one of the biggest selling acts in the world! This was our wedding dance when my husband and I married 5 years ago (when same sex marriage was made legal here in Australia). Looking forward to your next reaction...
Honestly speaking...? What can you say? Another masterpiece from ABBA. And women's voices are absolutely incredible. Should close eyes and just listen.
You're right that this live version is edited. It's from "ABBA The Movie," but it's not there from the beginning. So, someone incorporated the first verse from another concert in Australia and made it into a complete song. That's why some of the footage is seen twice. I prefer the movie (shorter) version as that's where I fell in love with Frida in '78 when I saw it in the cinema.
I think this song isn't sooo good, but it improves a lot, thanks to the vocal work of the girls, especially Agnetha, in this case. Great react, David... you shined, again👌 Take care... see ya ❤️🇨🇱👍
I fell in love with this song when I watched "ABBA The Movie" on TCM many years ago. With ABBA it's hard to pick a favorite song but this one seems to capture everything that I love about ABBA. A video from Musikladen1976 is really great too!
Ok, a few things you need to understand. The footage is from the rushes taken by the film director, Lasse Hallstrom, who followed ABBA around Australia to shoot ABBA the Movie (watch it by the way). While in Sydney, there was a massive rain storm the night of the concert and some of the footage was damaged which is why some of the concert footage is made up of compilations from different cities, or may be repeated. (By the way, I was in the Sydney audience as a 7 year old). Also, to recreate the wall of sound that their engineer Michael B Tretow developed in the studio live on stage, they had a full band including TWO drum kits and back up singers.
Thank Given It's Toe! / I only knew this song as a b-side and an album track, but I learnt something new when I googled it. It was released as a single in Australia and New Zealand (got to #8 in NZ, apparently!). The live version is slower, and somehow more anthemic, allowing the voices to really shine. Thanks for playing both versions, and for your great reaction. 🇸🇪🇳🇿
Yes, they toured with background singers to “sweeten” the sound and make it more like their studio recordings, which were heavily overdubbed by their own voices. I think it works wonderfully!
Nice to have you back with ABBA David. This is one of my top favourites, beautiful powerhouse vocals. May I please make a suggestion (please don't hate me lol), those new flashing lights circulating the video are quite distracting any chance of limiting them ? I still love your reactions though. ❤
ABBAMAN... Another standout album cut I am not sure this was an a side somewhere in the world but it wasn't in the US again back in the seventies most albums only released two or three singles per album leaving amazing album tracks like this unheard you bought the full album. This is always been a favorite of mine for almost 50 years wow has it been that long you'll find as you progress through the rest of the album's there are going to be some outstanding terrific tracks can't wait to see your reaction on those😊
Thats what I like about the older days. The anticipation you get when buying an album single. You get what you get and its always exciting 🔥😍 Thank you for the comment Gene! Hope you are well! 🙏🏻
They are legends. The voices are really powerful, you are correct and I don't think they would have made it without these great voices. Live version is probably from ABBA the Movie and therefore the reused footage, probably "processed" in the studio for the movie. It is amazing how great their voices sounded so great live, always.
Thats a clever fan video edit you found there, hence the splicing. When ABBA made their film 'ABBA The Movie' during their Australian tour in 1977, very few of the songs they performed were actually retained in their full format for the film. The rest it appears to have been left either in the can or on the cutting room floor during the editing process. Such a shame as the actual film from the Movie, and from the 1979 tour would have been great as a live release. In The Movie only 'Dancing Queen' survives complete as it does in the 1979 live performance. Virtually all the other songs are cut to shorten the performances and fit into the storyline.
Its such a great song...maybe the song where the girls voices are among the very best in the ABBA song portfolio? Possibly at least...and the song itself, the instruments and melody matches the mastery of the girls vocals... I like the original studio version best, but hey,ABBA are masters at live performances..so its very good that one too..
How can you not fall in love with these two girls, that's why many of us older lifelong fans can't forget them.We are etenally hooked.Abba is such a longlasting dope!
Ofcourse 😍
It's like angels singing, beautiful.
Absolutely!
'It's like putting cream in your coffee"....Hats off David!
Heheh 😂🙏🏻😎

Exactly! 😁
I love even more the life version. It's a beautiful soulful performance.
Love Frida! She is so beautiful!!! Amazing singer, of course.
An absolute favorite song.
They have a hell lot of a carisma❤❤❤
Indeed! ❤️
When Agnetha belts, she belts like throwing notes effortlessly. She is really a real soprano.
The Girls from ABBA have an incredible way of drawing you in during a performance, holding on tight and only letting you go when they are good and ready.
Yeah defenately! 😊

“putting cream in your coffee” is a a perfect description and I love this song by ABBA. ❤ great reaction
Thanks Wond 🙏🏻❤️

I some how haven't heard that one before, thank you. Yes the girls have completely blown me away yet again.
Awesome, now you have 😍

Den här är så fin. Deras röster är ju så fantastiska tillsammans. Tack för nu🙏🏻
Ja denna var underbar faktiskt 😍
I can tell you love ABBA's 3rd voice when the 2 girls sing in unison - you must feel so proud of ABBA being a fellow Swede.
I sure am ❤️

I think they never used backup singers in the studio, just live. In the studio they used multitracks of their voices..

Yeah I hear what you mean 😁
Why are ABBA so perfect? Why is Mr GivenToe so handsome? It's not fair for us mere mortals!😉😍😘
Well I don't have the answers to that, but your question sure makes me smile Nigel hahah. Have a wonderful day now
Greeting from down under Australia! I'm new to your channel, great reaction to simply a beautiful song from one of the biggest selling acts in the world! This was our wedding dance when my husband and I married 5 years ago (when same sex marriage was made legal here in Australia). Looking forward to your next reaction...
Greetings! And welcome to my family of Chiquititoes! Sounds like s lovely memory 🙏🏻❤️😊
Great react, David... you shined, again👌
Take care... see ya
❤️🇨🇱👍
Yeah they performed it so well live 😍 Thank you!
One of Agnetha’s finest vocal performance. My favorite song from this album next to SOS.
Hell yeah 💕 it's just brilliant
"SOS" is a priority chorus. Chores singing of all four and music are beautiful.
One of my top 5 tracks of theirs.
Damn! I'm gonna have to go back and get all of their earlier albums.
Do it 😍
Do it.
Actualy I have all of their old albums. @@GivenToe
I love ABBA the hut. Such voices, they harmony perfect toghter.
Alltid härligt att se dom live. Älskar dina Abba reaktioner 😊😊
Tack så mycket! 😁
Thank you for all the great info Michael! 🙏🏻😁
@@GivenToe 🤩
Been to abba the movie in 77 four times.love the life version ,Agnetha voice is so pure.
I also like the live performance best, am really very fond of this song and also like it very much in the mama Mia here we go again movie.
I was there !…. Adelaide South Australia 1977… it poured with rain and no one cared. It was the first and best concert I’ve ever seen .
Awesome!!!
I love this song SO MUCH ❤️. One of the best tracks on the album by far! You must be so proud to be Swedish 🥰
I am ❤️🙏🏻😁
Such an AWESOME track :) WOW!
Those 2 women are totally, utterly and completely beyond incredible...frida is my fave tho, absolutely stunning in that live performance
Yes, they toured with background singers to “sweeten” the sound and make it more like their studio recordings, which were heavily overdubbed by their own voices. I think it works wonderfully!
It sounded great! 😁
Nice to have you back with ABBA David. This is one of my top favourites, beautiful powerhouse vocals. May I please make a suggestion (please don't hate me lol), those new flashing lights circulating the video are quite distracting any chance of limiting them ? I still love your reactions though. ❤
Thank you Helen! I wont hate you for that hahah 😂 Ofcourse! I just wanted to try something new 🤣 Ill keep that in mind for sure 🙏🏻
@@GivenToe aww thank u. ❤️
This song in an introduction to Fernando released one year after in 1976. One of their 2 or 3 best songs according to me.
Its a great tune 😁
I love America and Americans too. Been to the USA 16 times. XO
Ok 3 weeks after .....now time for some more Abba.'SO LONG" next plz.
And you shall recieve! ;) (Probably today)
@@GivenToe yeyyy!
Als Stimmgewalt noch zählte. ❤❤❤ wie zwei begnadete Engel ….😊
Is the kind of song, I think, that Agnetha love to sing
Den här hörde jag på 70 talet. Har massa skivor med Abba. Du gick miste om en härlig uppväxt! Fast det är ju inte ditt fel ;)
Ja verkligen hahah 🤣 Men tur jag kan höra det nu istället 😁
Abba Is Abba.!!;
