Odd that they didn't do more to update the RDX. No fully digital gauge cluster that every other Acura has, no touchscreen even though the MDX has one, no full led tailights, etc. I don't think it is worth any price increase that Acura puts on it. Something tells me their development money is drying up and now i wonder how the ADX will turn out.
@@johnhuynh3264 it’s subcompact crossover/SUV from the Acura brand, basically Acura version of Honda HRV, it’s coming soon, probably at the end of this year.
RDX - not enough of a refresh. The interior (mostly in the center stack, screen and TTI) and fuel economy are dragging this down against the competition. ADX - I doubt it will have SH-AWD. Most likely is the 1.5t with Honda's RT-AWD, because that's what is already available in other countries on the ZRV (aka North American HRV). I also am doubtful there will be a TypeS version for the ADX. The TypeS treatment isn't cheap. The Integra got it because it was already available and developed in the Civic TypeR. Otherwise, only the two most expensive Acuras had it developed in-house (TLX and MDX) because they share TypeS drivetrain and chassis components. That leaves the smaller models at a disadvantage when Acura doesn't like to overlap its pricing with the next higher model.
We leased a 2020 and then a 2023. If significant changes are not made, we will not come back and lease another one. The power train is getting long in the tooth, and the full economy is subpar. I see Mazda as a much better value honestly. Also, they should send a software update to current RDX owners to make Apple CarPlay full screen. The Head Unit is exactly the same, and is why they don’t have a digital dash. No reason they can’t send a software update. FYI, our 2023 ASpec Tech has wireless Apple CarPlay already.
Acura is getting lazy at this point, oh wait Honda owns them so I forgot about that. If they changed it like this then expect the same treatment next year as well. Really sad imo.
Will Acura be sending the infotainment update to the previous models - '23 and '24? I would really appreciate the side screen gone (or maybe put as an option)
Hopefully the TLX gets a software update to support full screen CarPlay I cannot believe that they did this for the RDX running that old Acura operating system that the TLX still runs.

Gas prices are high everywhere but the US hasn’t transitioned to EVs, and so hybrids are what people want to buy. But Acura doesn’t sell a single hybrid SUV… Also the it’s 2024 and it’s insane to me that Acura still does not have touchscreen in cars. It is a shame they didn’t change the infotainment system like the mdx. I was going to trade my 2020 advance if they did. On the mdx refresh it looks so smooth compared to mine
Still no touchscreen. Huge pass. Not buying any car with such a stupid oversight. Every other competitor has a touchscreen. Thanks for making that choice easy Acura.
As a 2022 RDX A-Spec Advance owner - I like the changes. The bigger screen for CarPlay is very nice. No touch screen is a zonk. On the phone charger, they should move to Qi2 from Qi. Magnets help keep android and Apple iPhones in place. It's a great comfy vehicle with some sporty aspects and these refinements are nice.
I currently own a 2022 and was looking forward to a touch screen. The pad isn't bad, but disappointed. The Mazda appears to be a better choice. Great review! Thank you.
IMO they need to get ride on of the whole interior set up 1. Put a closer touch screen 2. Keep the mode dial get rid of piano black stuff 3. Push button shifter needs to go because it takes up the same area space as a traditional shifter, and you want to work for it not barely press it and end up in the wrong gear because you thought you were in gear the right gear 4. Make an type-S version at this point along with a crv type-R version just a bonus
The push button shifter is honestly better than the regular shifter cause a regular shifter will take up more volume and make the interior look ugly. The buttons are intentionally hard to press cause you have to push them with purpose you don't just want to graze it and it switches into a different gear.
Even the most basic cars now have touch screen, this is a huge, ridiculous blunder from Acura. Was looking forward to an upgraded and redesigned RDX to upgrade to but this is not even an upgrade. Same RDX from 2018 with minor face lifts.
Not much new and I am a current owner of RDX 2018. I was hoping for a new redesign but total let down. I will either choose a Lexus RX350 or a Toyota Land Cruiser.
My 2019 Aspec is still going strong and looks great. The touch pad is the only downside. I can’t believe they did not address this in the refresh. Need a type-s for me to consider buying a new one. Otherwise I’ll just drive this for another few years and save up money for my next car.
Oh yeah, that's my next car right there. I tried out the new MDX and I did not like the touch-screen, or the B&O audio system. Sure, a larger infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster would be nice, but they're certainly not deal breakers.
front grill looks like a smaller version of tbe hyundai genesis. still no phev nor hybrid?? they won’t be selling well on this model. i want to see the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV refresh this year.
They need to update the interior. The big drive mode switch in the center is indicative of frequency of use. I don't keep changing drive mode often during a drive.
The trackpad isn’t my favorite thing and yes I think the instrument panel needs an upgrade from the TLX playbook but I don’t understand why everyone gets so upset about no touchscreen. IMO it’s overrated and can be distracting for the driver. I’ve been contemplating an RDX when my current lease is up and I have a touchscreen in my current vehicle. Yes it’s ok but don’t understand why it would be a deal breaker when shopping new vehicles. I always found the knob in other vehicles to be just as useful and as quick.
I like the look and size of the RDX. Own a 2013 RDX; great vehicle. The RDX interior with the weird gear and mode shifters are dated. It needs a hybrid; gas mileage is mediocre at best. My wife looked at a new RDX but chose the Lexus NX 350h instead.

The market makes it clear in the US that interest isn't for pure battery its for hybrid look at Honda's success
Do you think that previous year (2019+) RDXs can get the full screen ACP/AA via OTA update?
I test drove one and found the touch pad kind of cool. You can sit back and take control of the infotainment 😌
Are they going to bring back their sport hybrid system?
I currently own a 2022 and was looking forward to a touch screen. The pad isn't bad, but disappointed. The Mazda appears to be a better choice. Great review! Thank you.
WHAT IS A HRV ? smaller then the CR V? both the new front ends on the hondas look great. Yes im looking to buy a 2022 RDX
A REFRESH? You sh¡tt¡ng me? WTF are they doing? The new CRV pretty much looks better!! They seriously can't figure out a new design for the RDX?
the entire Lexus SUV lineup is all new.
@@MikeForsythe that's right. I forgot
I wish Acura would make the RDX feel more luxurious, they’ve done a fantastic job with the MDX and TLX
I have a 2023 Acura TLX. Love it and honestly don’t mind the touch pad.
I stil love it and am getting one.
Not gonna lie, this is a huge disappointment. I’ll never consider the RDX now. This car should have been redesigned at least
Honda and Acura is way behind on hybrids. They have no V6 hybrid. RDX update is very weak
No I don't think Acura did enough the RDX needs a more HP Engine option Big Mistake on their part.
IMO they need to get ride on of the whole interior set up
1. Put a closer touch screen
2. Keep the mode dial get rid of piano black stuff
3. Push button shifter needs to go because it takes up the same area space as a traditional shifter, and you want to work for it not barely press it and end up in the wrong gear because you thought you were in gear the right gear
Big disappointment. Needs a touch screen. I was eagerly awaiting this news in hopes of buying one. Would rather go with the CRV Hybrid sport touring.
Not much new and I am a current owner of RDX 2018. I was hoping for a new redesign but total let down. I will either choose a Lexus RX350 or a Toyota Land Cruiser.
Where is the hybrid?
This is pathetic!!! I’m really surprised at HONDA/ACURA letting their consumers down!! Sad
Hopefully, they will do sometimes be at the back end.
Same 2.0T engine?
The touch pad must go before I buy another RDX.
Do you think they'll make an ADX Type S?
front grill looks like a smaller version of tbe hyundai genesis. still no phev nor hybrid?? they won’t be selling well on this model. i want to see the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV refresh this year.
Acura heavily slacking. Major disappointment on this “refresh”! Their update needs an update!
They need to update the interior. The big drive mode switch in the center is indicative of frequency of use. I don't keep changing drive mode often during a drive.
The RDX already had wireless CarPlay, and the previous grill frame wasn’t painted only on the PMC, otherwise it was black or chrome trimmed.
I too was hoping for a type S. Tune it up to type R power would be easy. Spice up the brakes a bit. Some good tires. And take my 60k👍
Acura has been suffering from brand identity for many years thanks to Honda for being too conservative.
More bigger screen, smaller displacement engine and JACKED UP pricing 😂😂😂. Winning formula for all OEM
Wow a new grill and wheels. Hot,,,,,,,
I love the RDX. So underrated
No touch screen in 2025 is ridiculous! Game changer for me.
Still happy with my 2020 RDX base model with SH AWD. My only complaint is gas mileage
Sad even the CR-V has a touch screen with 2 engine options while this premium option continue being thirsty
Anyone have anything on a 2025 tlx a spec or type s? Is it even coming out??
i love my Acura
