I bought my Trax 2RS last August and have 25k miles. I love it! No problems, 2 minor recalls the dealership took care of. It's in the body shop now, because someone hit me, but besides a 3 week wait for the replacement door, no issues there. I get about 32 mpg mixed driving. I don't have the Convenience package, so no Adaptive Cruise or Blind Spot system. I wish I had those, but it wasn't a deal breaker. It's comfortable and a great value.
I was very happy reviewing this car, i am seriously considering one, my on con in the engine size with a turbo as i mentioned, appreciate the comment 👍🏻 Mark
Seriously considered one of these last August, however the 3 cylinder turbo didn't sit well with me. I don't believe it will be durable long-term without expensive repairs. Instead, I chose a manual transmission Nissan Versa. Cheaper, no CVT (I know Trax doesn't have one either), a tried and true, naturally aspirated 4 cylinder with port injectors. This is a less tech engine, but a reliable design in use since 2006 I believe - and has earned a good reputation. Plus, I'm getting 44.2 MPG combined. I plan to maintain this car and keep it for 10+ years.
Hey Lyle, alot to unpack here but some good points , the 3 cyl turbo is also one of my cons to this car, i also keep my cars long term, thus my 2013 sonic 1.8 which has 67k and is great car, with port injection which is way better then DI as it keeps the head cleaner and less gunk in the intake and lasts longer, i get about 36 MPG on the highway. I am glad the car has been good for you, my fear with Nissan is that they are not as good as they use to be but you still hear good stories like this and maybe it might worth doing a video on them in the future. Appreciate the comment 👍🏻 Mark
I agree it would be nice ,being a budget friendly car i didnt expect it . Ill be doing the Buick version soon and will check to see if it has it, appreciate the comment 👍🏻 Mark
I have a 2024 black activ, 8,300 miles, two problems, tires came over inflated 47psi, recall on the emissions system. I agree with others I really like this vehicle! It's in storage October until May. Going to miss it. Don't want to drive it on the Michigan winter salty roads.
That odd they come over inflated , likely when someone PDI at the dealership messed up, im in ontario and the salt and brine spray is horrible on cars, appreciate the comment 👍🏻 Mark
@@kelmargarage they're shipped over from South Korea overinflated! I read it has something to do with tie down, securing the car on the boat! The dealership is supposed to put the right amount of air in the tires when they do the PDI. THEY MISSED MINE, IF YOU READ, ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHERS!
I could have done that with my New Nissan, but I decided to go with rust protection - Krown. There is a dealer less than a mile from my house, and it gets pretty good reviews. Not prohibitively expensive if it does it's job. I'm in Michigan also. Trax is a very nice vehicle and well equipped. I almost bought one, until I finally found a manual transmission Versa. I wish you very good luck with your Trax.
@@LyleBialkI've got a 2007 GMC Sierra I bought new. 4.8 L engine, no displacement on demand, ( DOD IS JUNK!) It makes a really good winter vehicle. My GMC truck has 157,000 miles, only thing I've had to do is routine maintenance, oil changes, brakes, tires, three batteries. It's been a fantastic vehicle! Seems a lot of people bash General Motors. I've owned several GM cars and trucks, they've all been 100% reliable, long lasting vehicles! 😊
Hi Kelly, appoligies for the delay replying to this, so here is my opinion: You need to drive one as it will surprise you, its far from gutless and yes has minimal lag but as you seen it will break loose on take off, your cobalt will have better MPG as it has a lower center of gravity which has less wind resistance and a fair amount lighter than this suv which is around 2800 lbs. Appreciate the comment 👍🏻 Mark
NO, it's a cheaply made car! The 3 cylinder engine doesn't even have a timing chain. It has a cheap, 'wet' timing belt that is questionable, and a PLASTIC valve cover on the engine! Fit and finish is mediocre, at best. It's cheap American junk!
I appreciate the feedback back, it does have some flaws if you compare it to my sonic (which is American built) compared to this Korean built , everything has plastic valve covers now, its a sign of the times to save money where OEM can.
Too much money imo that shouldn't be a penny over 25k also get rid of the 3cyl turbo and give me a good na 4cyl and i just remembered u are in canada so thats 28 ca,so i guess the price is reasonable
How do you know the three cylinder won't last?(TONIGHT'S LOTTERY NUMBERS PLEASE.) It's been in use for 6 years, Chevy trailblazer, Buick encore. The 1.2 L turbo engine seems to be quite reliable, several owners with over 80,000 no problems!

Thanks for the comment, yes good options to have but im old school and less things to go wrong... appreciate the comment 👍🏻 Mark
I have a trax LT 2025 I’m so happy with this car good price and good car for me

Love mine too. Got my 2025 Trax LT back in July. I added a roof rack and mud guards to give it a sporty look.

It would have been nice to have an ac/heat vent for the back seat. The rest of the car is pretty awesome for the price.
I agree it would be nice ,being a budget friendly car i didnt expect it .

There is rear vents, they're not adjustable. It blows from underneath the driver, passenger seat!

why does that gutless 3 cyl only get30 mpg , my 2009 cobalt4 cyl gets 50 mpg and has power to spare .

@frankie072 yeah it's mid 24-25 . I think it's good value just not a fan of the motor as I mentioned. Thanks for watching Frank!
Looks beautiful but the three cylinder won’t last so I have to pass
That is also 1 of my concerns. Hopefully im wrong, appreciate the comment 👍🏻 Mark

Thanks Mike for the feedback, what would you buy over this?
