- The RDX is getting a few changes from Acura for 2025. On the outside you will discover a new called called Liquid Carbon, new grill and wheels. On the inside you will be greeted by a full leather interior with and updated center console. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2025 Acura RDX A-Spec a BETTER luxury sport SUV than a Lexus NX 350?

No my friend. They changed new wheels and grille. Which means that you don’t need to buy them at car accessories stores!
At least the 2025 MdX has a touch screen. Would be nice to see an RDX and MDX hybrid with more Hp n TQ.

Some models change every 10 years :) I guess it depends on demand and R&D money. Nevertheless i like it that way. Less reshapes holds better resale value.
Why is the CRV electronics more updated than the higher end RDX? Come on Acura!!!

It’s nearing the end of its life. The next gen car will have a touchscreen and an evolution of Acura styling, probably inspired by the Performance EV Concept.
With all of the craziness going on in the U.S. this last week, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your videos now more than ever!
I had a 2020 RDX Advanced package and am surprised 2025 didn't get a major update. The stereo and screen especially needed upgrades plus I don't know why the RDX doesn't have a Type S version. RDX is very reliable and is relatively sporty but I don't think it overcomes the present design and several shortcomings. I'm not sure if the Lexus NX is actually better but would guess it rides better and is probable more comfortable, besides having the latest tech.

Why are LED rear turn signals offered on Honda’s lowliest SUV (HR-V), but not this refreshed(!) higher end product?
That is super fascinating, It must be a cost saving type of thing.
Honda also doesn’t have LED turn signals on the Pilot. It’s weird. These Acura lighting elements are probably super expensive and it doesn’t make sense to update them before a new generation (they didn’t same with the TLX and MDX). Besides, 99.9% of people buying this car probably don’t know even know or care.

My wife was looking at one. However the screen sticking out of the dash is a huge zonk and won’t buy any vehicle without an integrated screen in dash.
I like it. The body lines make it look elegant and sporty.

Acura is one company that does not listen to its consumers. No one asked for black door handles or a new grill. Rims are cheesy looking too compared to the previous year. All we wanted was for the trackpad to be gone and probably get a digital cluster, but that would have been too much for them to do. If this brand keeps going in this direction, they will lose customers fast

@@Big.W.Nope. I have a 2024 MDX. Apple Car Play turns the “True Touch” pad into a standard touch pad.

One my favorite Acura models I would buy one but they had one thing to do was to add a touch screen and they did not so that was miss. So I love it but needs a touch screen to be completely be the best

Liquid carbon been around. The new colors for 2025 are Solar Silver Metallic, Canyon River Blue Metallic, and Urban Gray Pearl

@@MiahV007greens were always some of the least popular colors. They do need to give us some colors tho like pearl baby blue, reddish copper, black with yellow accents, etc…

They have the BIGGEST budget for paint in the automotive industry, there’s 0 excuse to not have more variety.

The black door handles are an interesting decision… kinda weird. That 360 camera display is also laughably bad. Not terrible but needs a major update after not much after 5 ish years and how they haven’t come out with a Type S model yet is so disappointing.

Joe, a very good review as usual. I'm disappointed with Acura on the new 25 RDX. No Power Telescoping/lift Steering wheel Again!! I have the TTIP in my 22 MDX Advance - after over 3 years (on a lease extension until Feb 25) I still can't get used to it. With the changes they made to full screen in AA or CP, does the new system still cutoff the center Console USB port. Mine does. so, if you are in AA mode, You can't play Flash Drives ?? Forces me to Stream Music (or play the radio). Luckily I have the HUD in my MDX, that eases some of the pain and I really should play with the ShortCut Icon which selects Fav things you do, like play Sirius Radio. BTW, did Acura take out the Sirius/XM radio like they did in the 25 MDX? At $56K , One could get the new 25 Mazda CX-70, Premium Plus Turbo S model - more room, much more HP & Torque than the RDX, and at least it's a Touchscreen in AA or CP mode. I think many people were looking forward to a Acura Sport Hybrid in the RDX - that would be a Big Winner.

Super SPORTS cars are the best model, which costs about $ 3.5 million

Hi Joe. Thanks for the great review. I’m a big fan of Acura. My father in law owned an Acura Legend. My dad had a TL. I had a 2009 TSX w/tech pkg. I now have a 2019 TLX with V6. My wife has a 2016 RDX Advance pkg with V6 (AWD).
We take very good care of our vehicles. I enjoy watching vehicle reviews on YT. As we are watching, we talk about if the upgrades or redesigns are worth the $$$.
For this 2025 RDX, they missed the mark for me on several counts. The price ($56K), the tiny screen, 4 cylinder, gauge cluster needs to be 100% digital and amazing.
I’m looking forward to the time when auto manufacturers go back to exciting / fun colors. This gray gray gray is dull!!!

The car has decent sales but not upgrading to a touch screen tells me two things: Either the RDX is on life support (two years before the plug is pulled) or the entire car gets major upgrades next year (including big bump in price) to make room for the ADX. Either way, disappointing there is no touch screen. That helps Genesis GV70 sales as well as the Lexus NX.
You have to turn on the sensory buttons Joe to get rid of that camera picture when you put it in reverse. I have a 2020 rdx a-spec. I wish they would have done more changes. This is not enticing me to upgrade.

I had a 2021 A spec, very comfortable seats and amazing ELS sound system, well built suv to keep. The bad; Gas in city was 19 mpg, insurance is more expensive than competitors and the headlights seem to oxidize fast due to the design exposed to the sun from above.

Great review. Friend has 2021 ASpec. For sure bigger and touch screen plus more hp. ASpec is sport version compared to regular RDX but stops at the horsepower upgrade, weird. Real fun to drive though.🎉 Cheers
I have a 2021 Rdx aspec, and this new 2025 looks identical. Some very minor tweaks to the front, thats about it.

The next gen car is due soon. It should debut next year as a 2026 model. Looking forward to seeing it considering Acura has been hitting it out of the park with new models (IMO).

Seems to be a refresh-lite, very lite. The grille, I guess, but not many functional improvements. Also, do any trims include a spare tire?
no, you can buy a kit and install it yourself. its very east to do but will run you about $500+
@@mccarthy4718 Yes, I went to a website and that was the approx. price. When I sent them a query about where and how store the tire in an RDX, they promised to, but never replied. I know Acura used to position them on the underside of the rear end.

You have to really look to see the changes that is for sure
2025 might be the last year for this generation RDX before Acura goes electric. Get them while you can. RDX is the best value in the segment. ❤

Always loved the look of this RDX, but I’d rather get a Mazda CX-50 right now.
I love the RDX such a great ride but it just needs a touch screen, I wouldn't say its a deal breaker because it drive so good but still I have no idea why they have that awful touchpad hehe.
Never would have known that was a 25 without you pointing out the few changes Joe. In the end though it is surprisingly nicer than the NX. Joe , soft balls ok but never put your pickle balls in the console.
I have to say that while it has more space than the nx the non touch screen in a 56k car is a no go for me. Especially when the crv has one.

The 2025 mdx is a touch screen
I'm soooooo disappointed! I've been holding out on buying just KNOWING the 2025 RDX was going to get a really nice redesign! All of the speculation videos prior to the unveil, were showing a very nice redesign and I was certain I was going to buy it, but this hardly looks any different at all! I'm a 47 y/o female, no children, and the current design is too dated looking in the rear! The rear looks like something from the early/mid 2000's. I was hoping for more of a coupe design similar to the BMW X4, Mercedes coupe, Infinity QX55 or even what the anticipation videos were speculating. THE ENTIRE REAR! Update the antiquated light bulb, hide the wiper blade, sport up the rear shape, put the faster engine in it, update to touch screen. GIVE THE ACURA LOYALS WHAT WE'RE ASKING FOR!!! We know it's reliable with slow depreciation but it's also BORING! I can't buy this until they do better! 😩

The touchpad screen control is brilliant. The next step is to integrate the touchpad on the rear of the steering wheel and let people operate screens using muscle memory.

We're gonna have to agree to disagree on the color. It's gray. When you pulled out of the lot I saw almost all gray, white, and silver SUV's. Car manufacturers need to rediscover color.

@@RaitisRides i was Acura fans for decades until my 21 Aspec RDX was nothing but problems, electrical and mechanical issues. Before that my TLX Aspec V6 had numerous problems in only three years

Great review! I have a 24 RDX Aspec Advance and I love it. Touch Pad is easy enough to use and you also have voice commands for navigation, music playback, etc. Far as performance and handling, it's pretty great on the twisty roads in Sport mode and a very comfy highway cruiser in Comfort mode. Sound system is awesome as well. I'm very happy with it overall!
