Exactly. My aunt has one of these and it’s absolutely amazing. The pad doesn’t bother her at all. Idk why every time I watch a car review video the pad is the main focus. It’s not even bad at all.
To fix the subpar drivetrain, acura stated that they'd have to charge an extra $15k. I am curious to what that would end up being. The option to buy a very reliable 550 hp turbo v6 3-row vehicle with a top speed of 180 mph for $90k would be a game changer
Nice to think about but never going to happen. Look how ridiculously long it took just to get a turbocharged V6 and they still package this vehicle with the base normally aspirated 3.5 from yesteryear.
acura/honda (or any japanese manufacturer for that matter) would never put a 550 hp v6 in any somewhat family-oriented car. max theyd do would probably be 450-500 hp from a v6t + phev system. keep in mind, audi makes the 3-row sq7 for 90k with around 550 bhp from a turbo v8, and aside from reliability (most people lease these kinds of cars anyways), the q7 is generally better than the mdx - coming from an mdx advance owner.
The 2025 Acura MDX is pretty much peak Acura, like they pretty much nailed everything there is to nail for this category EXCEPT the drivetrain, the mpg leaves quite a bit to be desired. The pricing is also pretty rough but that’s everything these days, I’m so glad you can purchase a A-spec and Technology trim together now, but honestly at that price the TYPE S is right there lol. I have a 2019 RDX with the 10 speed. The shift programming in any of the automatic modes is awful. I drive it exclusively in the Sport Manual Mode. It transforms the vehicle from a frustrating clumsy dog into a fun to drive vehicle. It still falls on it's face when coasting down to a light that turns green before a stop, but diligent manual downshifting can fix that.
Love this SUV. A few things I would like to see them change. - Add more overall leg room, storage, headroom, and cargo space to this SUV. (Similarly sized to the TX500) - 3rd row AC vents - No piano black plastic in the dash area - 10% increase in hp & torque With these changes it will by far best the best in it's class for years to come.
@ShaiyanHossain Na. What I said doesn’t equate 100% to a minivan. What it equates too is their competitor the Lexus TX and their sister SUV the Honda Pilot outside of there power trains.
Dudes. Those shirts rock. But I personally want front and rear sideways shirts. Print the rear of the car on the back of the shirt same as the front!!!. And please do a Jaguar F Type. I won’t even tell you the body style/generation. I trust y’all!
This MDX is 🔥! However, gas mileage is a concern. Would you guys consider the Mercedes GLE 450e maybe a better option that offers the same but save on gas?
I love it, I think it looks fantastic inside and out, however, I would still go with an X5 Xdrive40i. Base engine, faster than the MDX type S, much better fuel economy, glorious, sounding….
Any chance you guys might review the non-Type S MDX, or have you had a chance to drive one? Curious how dramatic the performance difference is or if the air suspension is missed.
I think it's a great car but not a good alternative minivan option. There is no upper AC vent for the 3rd row, so third row passengers are very uncomfortable in summer. Having vents in the floor for the 3rd row is pretty ineffective.
Then get 2025 Honda Pilot Elite or Black Edition trim. I call it the Poor Man's Acura MDX Advance Package alternative. The Pilot has 3rd Row A/C vents. It has more room in 3rd Row. The 2nd Row center seat can be stored away in the rear under floor well unlike MDX. So if not seat underneath you have good usable space but not as much as Ridgeline in-bed trunk. Pilot Elite doesn't give you Double Wishbone Suspension and Jewel Eye Headlights type of stuff as MDX with Advance Package. But you get 360 Multi-View Camera System like Type S and MDX Advance Package. Ventilated heated front Seats and 2nd Row Outboard Heated Seats Heads-Up Display , Panoramic Roof like MDX Heated Steering Wheel Rain Sensing Wipers. Elite Pilot doesn't have Bang and Olesfen sound system. But it has a 12 speaker Bose 70 series Audio System. But No Honda Minivan or many other have The Acura Super Handling AWD System. The Pilot Elite and Black Edition have The IVTM4 Torque Vectorng AWD System mechanically simular to SH-AWD not sure if same on new Pilot. They were just programmed differently.
To be honest guys I’d rather just get the shirts with the logo on correctly. It’d get annoying having to turn my shirt sideways somehow to explain this to people. Great idea tho 👍🏽
Wonder if there’s a way to change the colour of the buttons on the left, seems like such an eyesore given that the Acura interface is black, but the home buttons are blue-ish.
Since you 100% single handedly got Acura to fix the touchsense in the MDX, can you start bugging them to A.) Do the same in the RDX and B.) Make a Type-S for the RDX?
Just me or does the exhaust sound kinda bad. Doesn’t seem any sportier than a normal mdx. Kind of vacuum cleaner sounding. The exhaust on the sq5 sounds so much nicer
Definitely not a minivan alternative with just 5 adult seats and barely useable cargo space behind the third row. Strollers? Bags? The trick suspension looks cool.
Hondas were so awesome in the 80s and 90s. So cool and impressive and nice and they smelled good, and they all got 30mpg. It’s a shame their cars are so meh today. It seems so counterintuitive.
As a smaller person, that touch screen in the MDX is too darned far away! I just saw Doug DeMuro test the new Lincoln Nautilus, with the best screen solution ever introduced to the automobile industry - By far! They put the touch screen up nice and close and easy to use, while the main screen goes from door to door across below the windscreen... check it out peeps... it's the only one that actually makes sense... and no piano black either! Ford leads the way...
Glad infotainment is up to date and is no longer in 2010s. On another note, no more TLX?! Come on HONDA!! Dis Too Much!! One more last ride for the TL/TLX!!
I like it, but..Me personally prefer usual 2-nd row seat without ability to deinstall it, but slide able. I wish they had different options for 2-nd row to choose . Black shiny plastic… why not change it for smth different for more expensive Type-S? 7 seat MDX should have a glass box with mirror as Pilot has to see what happens behind. Back view mirror doesn’t have camera mode for the case when car is fully loaded and driver doesn’t have nice visibility. Fuel efficiency… hope, hope, hope they will represent hybrid version, smth like RLX Sport hybrid was, but with this styling, infotainment and as a SUV
Throwing it out there, but those shirts would be even dope-r (imo), if you had the current design on the back, and then the name of the car/brand logo on the front on the upper right part of the chest (when looking at the shirt). BUT I know this would run into copyright issues, etc. Check out the In-n-Out shirts for what I mean by big graphic on the back, with small one on the front right. Sick designs though!
So much to like about the TYPE S. Great looking, about as fun to drive as you could want from a three row. However, the whole point of a three row is as a family hauler and a 18.5 gallon tank is too small. Coupled with 19mpg the range is a paltry 350 miles…. In the real world the gas light is coming on all the time. In comparison the X5 and X7 are getting 25mpg and have 22 gallon tanks. Their ranges are close to 600 miles on a tank. These are the things you don’t realize until you’ve lived with both. Until acura can improve MPG and increase tank size the car becomes a hassle to own as you are always fueling up….
Why would you show the converted base price from CAD to USD but not the as tested price? I remember you used to always show both converted prices. Can you bring that back? Thanks.
Front face of cars r very good idea on a t shirts, how about tail section of the cars printed to the back side of the t shirts ,have you guys thought doing that? thankyou
Great car that I have been dreaming for years. The only thing that is holding me back about the MDX is car theft and high insurance premiums due to theft.
I wasn’t aware of this? Where do you live? Our insurance rates on our MDX hasn’t increased at all and I (we’ve owned Acuras since 1990j wasn’t even aware of this theft issue…
Kinda funny to see how far he had to stretch while driving to use the touch screen. Think Acura should have kept the touchpad and offer users both...... If you ain't going to be driving the vehicle long enough to get accustom to it , I can understand your complaints
The best buy for an MDX is a 2007, 2008, or a 2009. They were the most reliable of all the MDX. If you have the means, sure go ahead and get the 2025 model. For the rest of us mere mortals who live on a budget tho, the 2025 is simply unaffordable!

i love how "finally good" is both a compliment and an insult to the car, glad it's finally been fixed though
The infotainment has been a deal breaker for a lot of people.
355 hp isn’t enough for the high price they charge for it. The fuel economy is also terrible
It's plenty
It’s really not. It’s also limited to 110mph yuck. They’re quick but leave much to be desired. My 2024 just didn’t cut it.
What other vehicles in the class that have more horsepower and cheaper and also quicker 0-60? You won’t find any.
@@blackwhirlwind1245 I think you could get an X5 for around that price or a GLE
@@czwhat328 X5 base engine is just over 80K, GLE is 90K.
That interior is sharp! 🔥 👌🏽
Love this SUV. A few things I would like to see them change.
- Add more overall leg room, storage, headroom, and cargo space to this SUV. (Similarly sized to the TX500)
- 3rd row AC vents
- No piano black plastic in the dash area
- 10% increase in hp & torque
With these changes it will by far best the best in it's class for years to come.
so you just want a minivan
@ShaiyanHossain Na. What I said doesn’t equate 100% to a minivan. What it equates too is their competitor the Lexus TX and their sister SUV the Honda Pilot outside of there power trains.
I was cracking up at the whole video. Absolutely hilarious!
Dudes. Those shirts rock. But I personally want front and rear sideways shirts. Print the rear of the car on the back of the shirt same as the front!!!. And please do a Jaguar F Type. I won’t even tell you the body style/generation. I trust y’all!
6:38 You guys are dorks….and I’m here for it. Love it!!! 😂
This MDX is 🔥! However, gas mileage is a concern. Would you guys consider the Mercedes GLE 450e maybe a better option that offers the same but save on gas?
Acura should make a coupe style version of the mdx like the gle or x6 that would be dope
Yuri that's a great idea for a t-shirt! Love it
Look at that Miata shirt with the sideways smile.
I love it, I think it looks fantastic inside and out, however, I would still go with an X5 Xdrive40i. Base engine, faster than the MDX type S, much better fuel economy, glorious, sounding….
I would totally recommend the x5
I have one
no 3 row in X5 folks....apples oranges
X5 has an optional 3rd row
Nah, not a serious option and about the size of the rear seats in my lc500. Mdx is about 5 inches longer@@pegcity4eva
Green is the new burgundy. 🤔 Goes with tan interior. 🙂
Hilarious video guys 😂 love the shirts too 🙌🏻
Yes green. My Bronco has eruptions green. But the Acura at that price is not viable, I would take an X5 instead even with less equipment
Love the t-shirt design!! 👌🏿
Need a sideways raptor shirt. First gen of course
I prefer the wheels on the 24 !! Whats more important?🤔
Any chance you guys might review the non-Type S MDX, or have you had a chance to drive one? Curious how dramatic the performance difference is or if the air suspension is missed.
2024 - ELS Sound System & Touchpad
2025 - B&O Sound System & Touchscreen
You just can’t win 😂
is the els better ?
@@matthewgeorge6620 - YESSSS!!!!
I honestly;y believe they switched from ELS to B&O for name recognition only…. ELS is that good.
I liked the touchpad in my 21 acura tlx, felt easier to use while driving
yes only reviewers complained about it and people who are not owners. all owners had a 100% satisfactory rating with it.
If you guys do a K5 shirt I'm buying it!
Nice idea with the shirts 👍
Ventilated heated front Seats and 2nd Row Outboard Heated Seats
Heads-Up Display , Panoramic Roof like MDX Heated Steering Wheel Rain Sensing Wipers.
Yes deal
Shirts are fire.
I'd be more interested if the graphic went across the chest rather than full length. Also if it doesn't exist, an S2K please.
now for MAZDA to follow suit and bring the screen closer and FULLY touch.
Wow. A visor pass test. 😂😂. Nice review. Nice car. Changes are great.
I'm cross shopping this and a Genesis GV80 3.5 turbo. Take reliability out of the equation, which would you recommend? Which is fastest and quietest?
How about a 2024 Kona face t-shirt? The Robocop face should be a great look.
Why would you show the converted base price from CAD to USD but not the as tested price? I remember you used to always show both converted prices. Can you bring that back? Thanks.
6:30 I would support Acura for switching to the B&O sound system, I think it is just as good as ELS
Do they still require you to set the drive mode each time you get in?
Front face of cars r very good idea on a t shirts, how about tail section of the cars printed to the back side of the t shirts ,have you guys thought doing that? thankyou
Get rid of the button selector and it’s perfect. Go back to a lever
e46 m3 would be an iconic shirt
Great car that I have been dreaming for years. The only thing that is holding me back about the MDX is car theft and high insurance premiums due to theft.
I wasn’t aware of this? Where do you live? Our insurance rates on our MDX hasn’t increased at all and I (we’ve owned Acuras since 1990j wasn’t even aware of this theft issue…
@@Fabulousprofound168 in the US it's no problem. But I live in Ontario Canada so it is a problem
I wonder if a gen5 Prius shirt would look good. If you guys made one. I’d be very interested.
Shorts are a great idea. Do a FJ Cruiser!
