I have a 2019 RDX Advance SH-AWD at 65k miles. No major issues. The small pano roof pops softly every once in a while, not too often. The brakes squeal after humid weather, but it's just rust prone rotors, good aftermarket rotors will easily fix this issue. It has nearly the same power as a 5th gen 4Runner, but I can get 30mpg if cruising at 50mph, no stops, with premium fuel. I average 22mpg with highway and city driving. The RDX with premium and sport mode can beat a Audi S-Line Q5 in a drag race, look up the videos. We've taken my dogs on road trips with it. We've go up mountains during winter, or crossed southern state borders in summer. No issues. Premium is NOT required, you can use regular fuel. Premium is only recommended. It has one of the best SH-AWD. I've taken it down country ass dirt roads and had the OEM wheels caked with mud but it wouldn't stop, and would barely slip even at steep inclines, this latest gen of SHAWD almost feel like a true 4x4 system. I know, I've had TRD Tacoma, 4Runner, and now we have a Wrangler JL. With Audi, you have Quattro but an Audi will not be as reliable, I had an Audi A6. You have Subaru Asymmetrical AWD but the reliability of the Acura is better (detuned Type R 4 cylinder turbo K20) and is slightly better put together than the Subarus. It has plenty of space with seats down, almost completely flat. It can comfortably hold 6+ft tall people in the back seats, couldn't do that with my 4Runner. Headlights are crazy bright and you must angle them down, no need for aftermarket headlights. Seats are nappa leather with trim, 16 way power adjust, heated and cooled. Steering wheel feels solid, buttons feel solid, even the turn signals feel solid, meaning, it doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart after 10 years of daily use. Pano sunroof is standard. The Audio system is incredible with roof speakers as well. It's a jack of all trades, master of none. It's not as luxurious as a BMW/Merc/Audi but it's more reliable and cheaper to fix. It's not as fuel efficient as a small Toyota/Honda but it's more fun to drive. It's not as big as a 4runner, Pilot, etc larger SUV but it's more fuel efficient and more features and premium. The RDX is a practical vehicle for someone who doesn't want a boring generic crossover/SUV.
Nice Overall, practical review. Continued Good Luck !! In 2019, I test drove the new RDX and the 2019 MDX Advance to replace my 2016 Infiniti QX60 {I lnow, What Was I thinking when I leased that car in 2013]. The RDX teased me with great handling, great pep and delicious sound system, BUT the TTIP Touchpad was a definite Deal Killer for me. I leased a 2019 MDX which had Old & Tired InfoT. - but easy , peasy to use. In August 2021, after seeing the new redesigned MDX on line and the multitude of positive Reviews on Line, I pursued the new MDX (Acura offered a nice deal to turn over my lease with Loyalty Bucks). Although the new MDX has the TTIP system, I loved the redesign so much, I decided to go for It. Now after 30 months of use, I still have difficulties with the TTIP. Family members who use my MDX on occassions - hate it! . When I leased the 22 MDX, I did drive a new RDX as well. I almost pulled that trigger, which would have saved me some $$$$$ in the total transaction, but after I drove the New MDX with it's new handling & suspension, and seeing it in Person, I was sold. But the RDX was seriously a strong consideration, a very good car, probably best in that class ! One gripe and a shortcoming IMHO was how Acura in its infinite wisdom, did not include a Powered Steering Wheel adjustment?? That works so well with the Auto Entry and Auto exit features in this MDX and in the last 5 cars I've had (4 Infinitis, and the 2019 MDX).
look up "rdx sunroof recall" and contact your dealer, they should have sent a notice in the mail for it, but if you didn get it you might be able to just take it to the dealer to gget fixed.@@xevon.
I’ve had my 2019 RDX for 2 years now, and I genuinely can’t think of a better car in this segment. I have 2 car seats in the back that fit with no issues despite me being 6’4”. The cars handling can’t be talked about enough, but the thing the RDX does better than anything else in its class is the audio system. The ELS is unbelievable. It makes you feel like you are at a concert with the emersion. No way around it, the infotainment is trash, but you get used to it. I can do everything I need with no problems. The only other true downside is the gas mileage is absolute trash in the City. This thing wants to be driven and when you do, the gas mileage is in the 18-20 range in the City. Other than those, this thing is unbeatable at its price vs the other cars in the segment.
@@MasterBallTCG Exactly my point; the ELS system is included in the trim. No SUV at its price matches it in my opinion. All I can say is it's the ONLY vehicle I've owned that I haven't wanted to upgrade the audio system. For about $6500 CAN I hope your system does sound better.
Had this car for an about 4 days while my MDX was in the shop and it was a great experience. Very comfortable small SUV and somewhat sporty as well. The handling is great on it too.
Not having smudges and fingerprints on the screen, EVER, is fantastic for me. Voice control/Bluetooth Audio and the remarkable ELS 3D audio, absolutely no regrets here. The driving feel/dynamics (SHAWD), the size/dimensions and COMFY seats. Just enjoy the ride and stop playing with the Tech. 😊
The RDX is one of the best all rounders out there. If you live where there is real winter and you have not driven this machine do yourself a favour and drive one especially if the conditions are terrible. The SHAWD system is a game changer and also happens to get this vehicle around ramps in the summer as an added bonus
My wife just bought a ‘23 A-Spec. The dealer gave us $4k off the MSRP because it was a loaner car, with 120 miles! It’s an excellent car. A more sensible alternative to an X3. It is loaded with good tech, nothing overboard. Looks good, drives good. Going to be reliable as hell. What more do you want?
Just bought this car and love it. A blast to drive + tons of features. And you get used to the track pad. I’d rather have that than a smudgy screen tbh.
I’ve worked at a acura dealership for almost 3 years now and you definitely get used to the trackpad. Honestly it’s a lot easier to use and safer to use than a touchscreen IMO. The lack of responsiveness with apple carplay is apple’s fault, their software doesn’t work with the true-touch touchpad.
Great review! I have a 2021 RDX PMC (thermal orange pearl), so it has both the Advanced and A-Spec packages. It handles amazingly, especially on mountain roads. Favorites - handling; bolster adjustments; passenger seat has all the same adjustments; camera button on stalk; ELS audio. Dislikes - touch pad and small screen. Prefer touchscreens!
My boss has a new MDX and I absolutely love the touchpad. I’d rather have BMW or Mazdas controller, but Acuras touchpad was a super nice alternative. I don’t want a touch screen, gets super dirty super quick and it catches sunlight so much more. Keeping hands off the screen makes it so much easier to see the thing. The infotainment system isn’t that bad either, I don’t understand why it’s so hated.
I have a 23’ RDX. The trackpad is great in design but the execution isn’t the best. It doesn’t work like the rest of the system in car play, and it’s missing a lot of small features that my 21’ Accord had. You can’t adjust the arrangement of the driver display, it’s missing a trip computer on the center screen, and you can’t do small things like change priority of CarPlay devices like you can in the accord. If CarPlay worked like the native system, it would be great. BMW still has the best of both worlds for having both touch and a very good physical dial.
@@davidlake611 that’s partly why I like it, the fact it switches to left/right in car play vs precision touch. CarPlay and acuras system aren’t the same so it makes sense to me that they don’t behave the same. BMWs works better in CarPlay because the control wheel just performs a left and right function already. I do still prefer BMWs controls over anything else but with every other brand is removing control wheels and touch pads entirely, it’s nice that Acura still does it. I don’t like that the integra switched to Hondas system without the touchpad and that’s got me worried that Acura will just remove it entirely moving forward. Mazda and BMW are the only ones left now, and BMW even removed it from the new X1 but I’ve heard rumors they’re going to discontinue that one so it’s not as worrying. The rest of it could be just written off as different brands doing different things, in my mind.
Loved everything about the 22 Aspec RDX, except for the gas mileage. I don't even floor it and was averaging 13 to 15 L/100km. Because of high gas prices and the need to fill up often, I traded mine in for a 23 Venza. Wished the RDX had a hybrid variant. Miss the handling and sound on the RDX.
Have a 2022 Advance. Nice drive. Sporty but comfortable and practical. No issues. Track pad takes some getting used to but easy once you get the hang of it.
I like the RDX and MDX, but that trackpad has been a dealbreaker for me. If they can at least add a touchscreen interface, I would totally consider it. I’m amazed they haven’t added touchscreen capability alongside the touchpad like Lexus did a few years ago with their old infotainment before revamping it.
@@Bigbillyrayfan I admit that I have heard owner seem to get used to it or even like it. I wish they’d give the option of touchscreen as well. My partner and I just can’t seem to get past it.
The track pad is my favorite part of our 2023 MDX. We clean it monthly and the screen doesn’t have finger prints all over it. It’s consistently the cleanest looking part of the car.
As an actual owner of this infotainment system in an MDX, I say it’s fine when using Acura’s native system. It’s only a little annoying when using Apple CarPlay. My other car is an Integra, and it’s more annoying having to reach over and touch specific points on the screen esp on bumpy roads.
My sister bought the redesigned 2022 mdx A spec. I drove it and more than anything really liked the styling. Needed an suv myself saw the RDX A Spec and had to have it. Test drove Jag F pace and Alfa Stelvio (which is an amazing suv btw) got the RDX and havent looked back
We're looking at SUVs right now and weird is definitely the word. Terrible powertrains (Outlander), awful removal of tactile or even visible controls (Atlas SportCross), terrible infotainment software (Venza), weird steering controls (rx350h), terrible engines and broken transmission tuning (every Hyundai group vehicle), more weird infotainment controls (CX5/CX50)... So all things considered, I don't think I'll even touch the trackpad once the music is bumping. But the otherwise "normal" way about everything else in the RDX has it at the top of our list. Shout out to the Honda CRV, which is overall the best and most normal newish Hybrid, and probably the smartest one to buy. But to tap into likely the last generation of luxury SUVs, the RDX blows everything else away, until you spend $20k more on a BMW, Audi, or Benz.
I have the 2023 aspec-advance I got used to the track pad and I love it now. I can’t think of anything better than this car. This segment the RDX is the cheapest and it includes more than enough power for a daily driver. ❤
I’ve been driving my 21’ RDX A-Spec AWD for 2 years and I still can’t think of anything else I could want. I love the touch pad because the fingerprints on the screen is ghetto. The handling is superb. Taking it to MN in the winter the car never lost control even when we tried to get it to slip. The gas mileage is worth the suffer for everything else
I just bought a 2024 Aspec Advance in Apex Blue Pearl (UK Wildcat blue). I absolutely love it. I got used to the touchpad within a day. I like not having fingerprints on the screen. It handles well enough to use cruise control in a downpour at highway speed.
had a 2016 RDX that I drove for 8 trouble free years. for my next car I looked at both the 2024 RDX as well as the Lexus NX 350h. Ended up going with the NX … my gas bill is now half what it was, and everything seems a lot more modern with the NX. I would have liked to stay with Acura but the lack of a hybrid powertrain sealed my decision to go with the NX.
I own a 2020 Aspec. Got it as new. Still love it!!! So much fun to drive and still pretty great looking compared to the rest of the class. And Honda reliability…
My family and I still this even with recall for fuel pump and rear windshield shattered issue from manufacturer, fact is its still more reliable and better than most overall and in northern Ontario Canada Nokian winter tires is excellent
I've had Acuras with the button shifter for 8 years on 3 cars. Once you've spent a month with it, you'll appreciate everything about it much more. The gear shifter becomes second nature, and so does the infotainment and track pad. It's a learning curve. My wife has the new NX 350, and we got it because initially it wowed us like Lexis does. However after having it for a month I can confidently say Lexus is way over hyped, and we'll marketed. The shifter on the Lexus is alot more difficult to use compared to Acura, and the remote start on the key fob has a very shore range. You need to use the app. My Acuras remote works from a very far distance. Also, 16 way adjustable seats are more comfortable that the Lexus. If Lexus had the push button transmission, I'm positive everyone would love it because it's "Lexus", a well marketed and good looking vehicle. It's. It's not much reliable than Acura from our experience, and neither is the service department. The handles to open the car are those rubber buttons. They let moisture in, and stopped working in the winter many times. The dealer told us to use hot water or keep a hair dryer in the car to defrost them. Her question to the dealer, what do I plug it into at a parking lot, and how do I get it out of my car? Am I supposed to keep it in my bag with an extension cord? It among other things were fixed in the first 6 months of ownership. What they do well is try to create a relationship based off of giving you gifts regularly when you buy the car and service it. That's the difference from someone who's got both brands. The reliability is the same. Most Lexus people I know have had issues, they just won't complain or make a big deal about it because they refuse to admit a deficiency with their high reputation Lexus/Toyota. The AWD system on the Acura is light years better than the Lexus. I'm looking to trade my TLX for an RDX next week.
Lexus is overrated and boring. I do agree that it’s reliable and that’s it. Other makes are just as reliable now. Honda/Acura is way more fun to drive than Toyota/Lexus.
We have a '23 MDX A-Spec and I love what Acura is doing now. The trackpad is a fuckin nightmare no joke, but it is the best overall car I've ever actually had time to get a feel for. We were originally considering an SQ5 (too small) or the 2021 X5 50i. We're confident we made the best choice by a mile.
I’ve had an Acura TLX 21 for a little over 3 years. The touch pad and the gear shifter take some time to get use to. Once you master the touch pad, it’s so much better than the new touch screens that lock you out in motion. You can still use the system with the touch pad in motion unlike a touchscreen. My wife got a new Lexus with touch screen last year. The car is all WOW initially. That’s where it stops. The touch screen becomes less functional when driving. You need to use voice command to input into Waze for example. After having both products in my driveway for a little over a year, I’m changing my TLX for an RDX. Some other things to consider with LEXUS vs ACURA. Lexus remote start on the key fob doesn’t work well with the press the lock butt on 2x then hold for the 3rd press. The range of the remote is incredibly short vs the Acura which you can remote start it from the fob from well over 250 feet away. Lexus doesn’t offer walk away auto lock. Lexus side mirrors don’t automatically dim on the passenger side. Not to mention the Lexus price point is considerably higher than the Acura for what hey offer you. You can get what I’d call a Lexus Rav-4 (NX350) loaded for more money than a loaded RDX. Lexus cars aren’t as bulletproof as they claim they are. My wife’s had several recalls and issues with her Lexus. To me they know how to do marketing very well. They outside looks edgier and slightly better than Acura, but overall, it’s not worth the money. Lexus is a great car!, just not what they’re asking you to pay for it. It’s over priced. It’s for some cool features the RDX doesn’t have like a video camera rear view mirror, but that gets difficult to see in certain lighting conditions. The electronic door lock that prevent you from opening the door when a car is driving by are a pain. The door handles had recall because moisture would get in and prevent you from opening the door in the winter. Our Lexus dealer told my wife to carry a hair dryer to open the door in the winter. How dumb an idea is that. This is what Lexus is today my friends. Just another car with its own issues, and a very over rated and over priced product that is super well marketed.
I have cooked many cars that challenged me in my 2021 RDX ASPEC. Fast as hell, stylish, and roomy for a family of three. The one thing I hate - steering wheel buttons seemed to be littered everywhere and no heated steering wheel at this price point.
I’ve had my 23 RDX aspec since May 23. And love it so far. The infotainment sucks but you’ll get used to it. The sound system is one of the best in its class 16 speakers ELS, 5/5 lol. The space in the rear seats is great. Climate control with the switches and buttons in the front regular stuff. The PRNDL is weird but you get used to it also. The gas mileage could be better. I like flooring it so I can’t complain lol. I’ll say the aspec is the trim to get, as it comes well loaded for the price. Only thing i woulda wished it come with was the rain sensing wipers and the adaptive dampers. I was actually lucky the one i chose had remote start on the key fob which is only a aspec advance featured. Dealer only charged an extra $150 instead of the original $700 on the website.
It's not the best, but certainly not the worst. I love that you can have some quality and luxury for a more affordable price, which is why I would own one.
To turn off traction FULLY without pulling a fuse: - car must be on, and in park. - press the brake pedal , turn traction on and off. - release brake pedal - engage e-brake , turn traction on and off - with e brake still engaged, press the brake and turn traction on and off. Light should be flickering. Immediate throttle response and full access to the SHAWD potential. This works on almost all new Honda / afire products 2008 and up I’d guess. You’re welcome
I own a 2020 RDX Technology with SH-AWD. It has been THE best car I have ever owned. Great handling, awesome in the snow when fitted with snow tires. Excellent road trip car, although more road noise than I would expect. It’s EPA rated at 27 mpg highway and if I can keep the speed down I can SQUEEZE 30 mpg out of it. Very roomy, great legroom front and rear, vast headroom. Big cargo area. My ONLY complaints are the entertainment system interface (a little fussy, but manageable once you get used to it) and rattles from the cargo area. Driven it on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. It’s very entertaining on the curvy roads. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. Premium fuel requirement is the price of admission. 👍👍
Agreed. The RDX is a great standalone vehicle designed from the ground up from Acura. Nothing like it in the Honda lineup. Great AWD, but all Acura AWD are top notch.
As a happy owner of a 2019 RDX I am so happy they haven’t changed a single thing since then quite refreshing considering how many Car manufacturers keep refreshing their cars every couple years I feel like and then your car looks like yesterday’s news in a couple years
The touch pad "issue" is so wildly overblown. Everyone who doesn't own one bitches about it being so difficult to use, while everyone who lives with the thing daily says they never even think about it. They quickly got used to it, and that was that. My friend who was coming from a 2012 Corolla into her new 2023 RDX had zero problems adapting to the touch pad. She loves it, actually. She loves the entire car, except for the fuel mileage, which is admittedly pretty awful, and the wireless charger, which is like most every other wireless charger in that it takes forever to charge, it heats up the phone, and it really doesn't work if the phone has a case cover.
The infotainment is fine especially if you only use Apple CarPlay. It isn’t that big of a problem as they make it to be. We’ve had our 2019 RDX since launch in 2018.
10:05 Acura's technology is very advanced, even a 2014 MDX has the forward collision warning Heads Up Display, and lane keeping assistance (auto-drive), like Tesla's Auto Pilot (the free one).
Having a TLX Type S for a while now, I don't understand why they shit on the infotainment so bad. Nowadays everyone and I mean everyone has Apple car play or android auto. I sit in my car, plug in my phone I use my phone to start playing music or navigation (if needed) and that's literally it. Once in a blue moon I have to use the infotainment system for something but other than that... It's really not that bad to use... Deal breaker? Absolutely not. It's almost got to the point I can use the track pad without barely looking at the screen because of muscle memory
I’m about to trade in my 2020 RDX Platinum Elite (AKA Canadian Advance model) and I just want to agree - the handling is excellent. I bought lighter 20” wheels and higher performance tires and the car absolutely makes great use of them. I could complain about the issues I’ve had, but the handling, especially on throttle, is ahead of anything else in the class short of a (far pricier) X3 M40i (as lesser X3s are no longer available with a torque vectoring differential in the back, which is standard in AWD RDX’s, nor an adaptive suspension, which is on the top trim RDX).
Don't know why Acura does this silly stuff, but for the traction to actually be fully disabled the car requires you to put in a bit of a cheat code. For starters the car needs to be running and in PARK. First, you must press the brake firmly down and hold while turning traction on and off. Second, you have to lift your foot off the regular break, engage the parking break, and proceed to turn the traction control on and off just like before. Lastly, with the parking brake still engaged, put your foot back on the normal brake, turn traction control on and off one more time, and this should cause the traction control light to flash, indicating that you are now fully unrestricted and ready to hoon in SHAWD. Hope this comes handy in the future. Cheers boys!
The top trim is worth the money not the lower. I’ve had three RDX’s. I’d much rather live with the new MDX if speediness of the turbo wasn’t my priority.
My sister has the MDX Type S, The infotainment is annoying but it isn’t a deal breaker. It’s good enough and it has physical climate which makes it better than BMW or MB.
Sooo I have a 23 TLX TYPE-S and my wife has a 21 RDX A-Spec love it to death wish it got better gas mileage!! Only way we change it!! Is if we decide to do a MDX TYPE-S something about Acura is just so damn tangible
The sub-24 MPG had me using regular gas again because it doesn't matter imo. I thought premium gave better mileage but after 57k, staying the speed limit (or under 65 on the highway), and turning off A/C are the only ways to stretch mileage. I've just given up on getting more than 24 mixed use. And I hear the MDX is 17/21/19 😩
Its a very nice vehicle, im a mdx owner myself, but for the price I would rather get a mazda cx-50 which you get the same for less and its more fuel efficient 👌🏽 i had a cx 50 too and its a very nice vehicle.
I think touchscreens are overrated, they are not as comfortable to use than resting your arm on the console with a good ol rotary knob system. If they make this like an old idrive system or a current Mazda one it would be great
My wife has a 2019 MDX w/ the 2 screen “hard turn dial” controlled infotainment interface, I MUCH prefer that over the touchpad single screen interface in the 2024 RDX I inherited from my mom as a 3rd car that I now put the majority of my “DD nonsense” Miles on….im pretty close to just trading it in on an integra A spec manual transmission for even money (RDX has 7k miles tech package)
Depends on what your priorities are in a vehicle. I’ve got no issues with the pad but find the modern vehicles with touch screens to be very distracting to use while driving. I have a Ford and Honda and the Ford system with things like the heated steering wheel control embedded in the climate control screen to be ridiculous. If I want to play on a touch pad I’ll wait to get home. My vehicles need to be focused on a combination of dynamics and comfort.
I have the 2023 RDX Tech package with SHAWD. Overall, I like the car and my only complaints are the jumpy transmission at low speeds and the sound system is underwhelming. Those with the A-Spec ELS sound system boast about it but I'm not happy at all with the 12 speaker system in the Tech package which I plan to upgrade soon. My guess is that the extra 4 speakers in the ELS provide fuller sound but I bet to someone who's picky about sound will find it slightly underwhelming as well do to the small and underpowered individual speakers. Like I said, overall a very nice ride but I wish the sound was fuller at lower volumes which in the Tech package is not. Still, I can't think of any car as luxurious and reliable as the Acura RDX for the same price. If I had the choice to redo my decision I would strongly consider the A-Spec package only for the more powerful sound system.
What I'm curious about is what car do you guys use as chase car. It never falls behind or hinders the cliché corner car. It always seems to stay in front lol.
I love the RDX, it looks good, drives amazingly well, I just wish they would upgrade the tech. Overall i think I would still pick the NX, I prefer the interior tech and I slightly prefer its design, you can also get trims that get 40mpg which is hard to beat
I have two years left on my current lease and I want to get RDX Aspec when lease is up but ive heard the older models have a rear window that randomly shatters and electrical issues? Im in tge air between this or TLX Aspec. Will be one of the two just not sure which one
If it's anything like Honda models, you have to put in the "Nintendo style" code to completely turn off TC. I don't know it by heart, but it's something about pressing the brake then TC off, brake again, etc. Reminds me of ⬆️⬆️⬇️⬇️⬅️➡️B, A, start! 😂😂😂
This needs a full update at this point. All rear lights aren't led and poor infotainment. 2024...on a premium brand? And, we're all still waiting for the Type S version. I keep reading it's coming, but I doubt it now.
How do you feel about the size of the RDX? It used to be a nice compact crossover that you could zip around in. Seems like it's grown in size and weight to 2G MDX dimensions.
thank you for dropping this video. i’ve been interested in financing an RDX as my forever car coming out of my 21 grand cherokee lease (wk2 model). How would you say this SUV stacks up in comparison to the Jeep specifically?
Welcome back Acura lovers and haters. Please tell us why this is the best or worst SUV 🔥🔥🔥
Sh-awd is just the best… my wife’s mdx kicks so much ass to drive in the Rockies during the winter. I good set of contis and you’re Gtg
Worst SUV because when I park it and come back to it. It's gone.
This is the best Japanese suv in the class
Is a luxury CR-V
@@MrMlbfan6 but the crv and RDX don’t share platforms

I have one too, roof poping finally got a recall so be sure to take your to the dealer for the fix
@@ZSPZaywhere do you see that there was a recall for the roof popping?
look up "rdx sunroof recall" and contact your dealer, they should have sent a notice in the mail for it, but if you didn get it you might be able to just take it to the dealer to gget fixed.@@xevon.
Lol a 4cylinder turbo rdx does not be a 6cylinder turbo audi sq5. The rdx does not even touch 300hp
To be honest the mark Levinson in the Lexus vehicles is much better.
The ELS really does make you feel emerged
@@MasterBallTCG how much extra does that upgrade cost?
@@keithb4048 I paid $5500, 1800 watts, 17 speakers vs ELS 16 speaker I think 700 watts
Very similar experience thinking of replacing my Odyssey with an RDX.
I think I'm really liking the new thumbnail! Classy, yet special and mainly no shocked reaction face. Thanks!
I own the same one '23 A-spec ,love it
A V6. I'm hoping they offer a Type S soon.
Agreed. BMW is using too much plastic these days and are quite expensive to maintain.
in 2025@@fishermansmobileweighstati3645
That ten second single shot from 1:46 is BEAUTIFUL. You can really see how well the car is tracking. ZERO understeer.
I traded my 2016 RDX for a Lexus NX 350h. Also wished the RDX had a hybrid variant.
Venza is also good.. have 22 Venza XLE . I did book RDX but cancelled it just before delivery day and bought Venza. And I don’t regret it at all
RDX also deserves a Type S version
I wish for an Type S version. I currently own a 23 RDX Aspec Elite......Type S would be awesome...I'd be in for that.
Love the track pad. Arm on arm rest, eyes nearly on the road.
@@Bigbillyrayfan I admit that I have heard owner seem to get used to it or even like it. I wish they’d give the option of touchscreen as well. My partner and I just can’t seem to get past it.
don’t get the hate on the track pad. i feel like it’s better than touchscreen after getting used to it
@Bigbillyrayfan not as good as the mazda knob
No fingerprints or smudges on the screen, EVER. I luv it as is.
The track pad is my favorite part of our 2023 MDX. We clean it monthly and the screen doesn’t have finger prints all over it. It’s consistently the cleanest looking part of the car.
Also note that the engine tuning is dynamic now, and you can use 87 octane fuel at the expense of some hp.
Link?
Can confirm, this is true for all Gen 3 (2019+) RDXs. But it’s more fun on premium! :)
Not with a turbocharged GDI engine😅 unless it's a lease 😂
As an actual owner of this infotainment system in an MDX, I say it’s fine when using Acura’s native system. It’s only a little annoying when using Apple CarPlay. My other car is an Integra, and it’s more annoying having to reach over and touch specific points on the screen esp on bumpy roads.
My sister bought the redesigned 2022 mdx A spec. I drove it and more than anything really liked the styling. Needed an suv myself saw the RDX A Spec and had to have it. Test drove Jag F pace and Alfa Stelvio (which is an amazing suv btw) got the RDX and havent looked back
I have a 2022 Apec Advance RDX and its amazing. The only way I see myself getting rid of it is if Acura puts out an RDX Type-S.
I have a '23 A-Spec Advance and agree with you. Fantastic car, and the only thing that'll get me out of it is an RDX Type-S.
Same, a type-s version of the Rdx would be amazing
Love that the sh awd system is still killing it! I love it in my 2007 Acura RL SHAWD with 300hp
If you put that $20k in the market 8 months ago you'd have an extra $1k now 👍🏻
I have the 2023 aspec-advance I got used to the track pad and I love it now.
I have a 2021 RDX PMC in thermal orange pearl. A great car with zero issues in the last 3 years.
I love my 2023 Aspec. Best suv I’ve purchased so far !
You could have bought the Advance trim.
It's not the best, but certainly not the worst. I love that you can have some quality and luxury for a more affordable price, which is why I would own one.
The infotainment is the reason I took the RDX off my list of vehicles to buy. I ended up buying a Venza.
To turn off traction FULLY without pulling a fuse:
- car must be on, and in park.
- press the brake pedal , turn traction on and off.
- release brake pedal
- engage e-brake , turn traction on and off
- with e brake still engaged, press the brake and turn traction on and off.
So hard to beat out the GV70. The RDX dash and controls are just a bit weird.
But the RDX does a better job at competing w genesis
It does in many aspects but I would go GV70 for sure. @@naveenthemachine

Those gear shifts sound PERFECT.
I love that trackpad. It will keep the screen free from finger prints.
As a happy owner of a 2019 RDX I am so happy they haven’t changed a single thing since then quite refreshing considering how many Car manufacturers keep refreshing their cars every couple years I feel like and then your car looks like yesterday’s news in a couple years
I don't understand why they haven't made a Hybrid RDX. It would probably be a huge winner.
Best looking in the segment but the MPG needs to go up. In the owner forums they are getting under 17mpg
HI, overall, how do you enjoy the TLX. Have a Honda Accord 2015, and i am getting bored, and i want to switch. Please let me know. Thanks.
I had a 2018 TLX and traded in on a GV70, the infotainment in Genesis is SO much better. And more power, Love my GV
Sales are up 75% this year for the RDX.
The top trim is worth the money not the lower. I’ve had three RDX’s. I’d much rather live with the new MDX if speediness of the turbo wasn’t my priority.
My lease is up in August… I hope the 2025 models will be out by then and redesigned!
I have an '09 Acura RDX AWD Turbo, and that car is a ton of fun.
My sister has the MDX Type S, The infotainment is annoying but it isn’t a deal breaker. It’s good enough and it has physical climate which makes it better than BMW or MB.
Many blessings to the both of you may this year bring blessings beyond measure thank you for the information.
As a previous Trackpad owner, I actually miss the trackpad at times
Sooo I have a 23 TLX TYPE-S and my wife has a 21 RDX A-Spec love it to death wish it got better gas mileage!! Only way we change it!! Is if we decide to do a MDX TYPE-S something about Acura is just so damn tangible
The sub-24 MPG had me using regular gas again because it doesn't matter imo. I thought premium gave better mileage but after 57k, staying the speed limit (or under 65 on the highway), and turning off A/C are the only ways to stretch mileage.
I've just given up on getting more than 24 mixed use. And I hear the MDX is 17/21/19 😩
How do u like the TLX type-s. I have an Accord and i am getting bored. Please let me know. Thanks.
If they make this like an old idrive system or a current Mazda one it would be great
My wife has a 2019 MDX w/ the 2 screen “hard turn dial” controlled infotainment interface, I MUCH prefer that over the touchpad single screen interface in the 2024 RDX I inherited from my mom as a 3rd car that I now put the majority of my “DD nonsense”
Miles on….im pretty close to just trading it in on an integra A spec manual transmission for even money (RDX has 7k miles tech package)
hope it keeps the reliability streak. cant wait for this to depreciate.
The exhaust sounds like a literal video game.
It’s identical to the engine sounds in my Truck And Logistics simulator game.
That infotainment was a dealbreaker for the wife and I. It looked good and drove great but that thing would have made me snap for sure!
That dial/touch pad is a joke in 2024, quick pass folks.....
I luv the TouchPad. NEVER have smudges or fingerprints on the screen.
Bought some tux mats, best accessory purchase ever👌🏼
Those DWS 06 plus is a fantastic tire
They still use a incondescent bulb for the rear turn signal?
Wild eh
What I'm curious about is what car do you guys use as chase car. It never falls behind or hinders the cliché corner car. It always seems to stay in front lol.
They said once but I forget I’m interested to hear as well
I personally prefer the MDX ..might as well
Needs a redesign, a hybrid and a freaking Type S!
Thanks for the great content guys!
I love the RDX, it looks good, drives amazingly well, I just wish they would upgrade the tech. Overall i think I would still pick the NX, I prefer the interior tech and I slightly prefer its design, you can also get trims that get 40mpg which is hard to beat
The infotainment and gauge cluster were dealbreakers. The GV70 has the best tech in the segment
No doubt the RDX is a better car under the hood tho 😅
Well it looks like I want AND need one. My 2007 was awesome, and this looks promising!
I have two years left on my current lease and I want to get RDX Aspec when lease is up but ive heard the older models have a rear window that randomly shatters and electrical issues? Im in tge air between this or TLX Aspec. Will be one of the two just not sure which one
2:20 Why would you put some performance Michelins on those 20 inch rims?
Good lord, that center console. If Acura would fix that eyesore this would be the car to beat in this category.
I think that with current car market prices acura is a very sensible option for people who want a little more luxury and performance.
Pretty happy with my 2022. Looking forward to the Type S after 2025.
Don’t hold your breath.
Would you take RDX a spec advance over a CX50 turbo premium plus??
Unfortunately all cars seem to have gone this route. The current gen CRV is only 6 inches away from being the same size as a OG Pilot.
thank you for dropping this video. i’ve been interested in financing an RDX as my forever car coming out of my 21 grand cherokee lease (wk2 model). How would you say this SUV stacks up in comparison to the Jeep specifically?
Go test drive a RDX. Very different experience to the Jeep.
Despite the AWD system its still a FWD platform
@@iana36sI guess that is the only way to know for sure. I will update this thread once i finally do.

Will the nav screen ever be touch sensitive instead of the stupid touch pad thingy?
Trying to justify trading in my Q7 for an Acura. My TL was the best car I ever owned but I can’t give up luxury now.
the best looking compact suv in the market, i just love this design
How does a luxury suv in 2024 not have a full digital display??? Same screen since 2019
acura is always way behind
Yeh but it has a heads up display. Try to find one on a Tesla
