I have the 2022 RDX top of the line, black with red interior. It's very fun to drive including the handling. I actually like the touchpad as you can easily access it without over reaching the screen and fingerprints. The speakers feels like you are in a live concert lol. The RDX is still an excellent value overall, especially if you can avoid the temptation of the A spec appearance and stick with Advance. I get that people don't like the tech, but on the other hand it's still got a lot of nice physical buttons. Also, don't overlook how good the voice control system is. I'm also surprised at how many people undervalue sh-awd.. even on dry roads it's a great improvement over the competition. And for some reason, Lexus didn't even give an option for any advanced awd on the NX. Also quieter and more comfortable than the NX. Significantly more cargo space than the NX, too. And, unlike the NX, the RDX can still remote start via the keyfob rather than requiring a subscription. The GV70 looks nice but I'm not on board with trusting the Korean brands just yet. And I'm not a fan of GDI engines.
People complain about touchscreens all the time. Am I a select few that actually focuses on driving? The TTI works fine for me no learning curve needed. It could be older people just don't know how to use it. I enjoy this vehicle immensely! The driving dynamics are fun, sporty and inspiring. By no means is this a Porche Macan but the overall value, dependability, quality, and ownership far exceeds the need to be flashy. I also considered the new NX F Sport and RX F Sport one was too small, and the other was too big. Lexus now has a subscription service for the native GPS which is absurd IMHO! The RDX fits the happy medium and the driving dynamics has a sportier feel. I would be confident taking the RDX on Tail of the Dragon just like my TL Type S and enjoy it. One last thing, the technology in vehicles do not make the vehicle obsolete unless they turn off 3G and my navigation unit was useless inputting automatically manually it was fine. I purchased the 22 RDX which replaced my 2008 TL Types S which had at the time >265K I sold it and still see it on the road ((my particular car). Thanks for your comment. I’m getting my 2023 RDX this week and I hesitated between Lexus and Acura, but various videos reminded me that Acura was the best option. I own a 2017 RDX and I love it .
The best thing about it is the stereo and people often don't mention it. The SH-AWD is superior to most awd vehicles as well. The low end torque with this motor makes the driveability enjoyable and adds some fun too. If you pick up a low mileage used one, you're getting a great value. Mpg isnt great, but if you love a good driving vehicle, you likely won't care, cuz this car is worth it.
I think the car needs to be Refined a bit.... the interior needs to be Cleaned up , that dashboard is Crazy ...and the Outside looks the same to me.And at their price point ,I also think its About Time Acura starts offering different accessories....Tires,Stereo, Interior colors, engines,.. ect! Also, what about all the maintenance Issues this car has had over the past 3-4 years? Have they been addressed. GREAT VIDEO 😊....
Did they fix the issues with the infotainment software? Also they need to update the HD, it should indicate your blind spots, instead of taking your eyes off the road to look at the indicators on the outside mirrors. Also the usb port in the center console should be moved.
When it came out in 2019, it was a great value. Now, it's a bit overpriced and not as luxurious as the competition. @@MikeForsythe right… the dressed up rav4. It costs significantly more than the Rdx, you only get 300 hp, and the same 0-60 of 5.8 seconds as that Rdx. @@quikjfpv1665 I assume you've driven both. What do you prefer for a daily or a drive up to 3hrs? I've driven the RDX many times and it's a pleasure to drive.
@todayisagoodday5027 I have driven both, so much so I carry my dad's spare key! I think the RDX is a better daily and for longer trips, given the seat comfort and sound system. The X3 M40i is a beast. Ridiculously fast and very eager to wag its tail when you turn the traction control off.
I can't get over that Acura has not added a power steering wheel adjustment !! Once you have that feature (on my last 6cars , 4 Infinitis and 2 Acura MDXs), You will miss it. All those cars Auto Entry and exit, raising the Steering wheel and moving the seat back to exit and Vice Versa when you enter.
As a woman I have needed to adjust steering wheels many times when I was pregnant AND wearing puffy winter coat 😏. Would need to make a video to show the hilarious manipulation needed to scoot behind the wheel in winter then.
I would pick the Acura RDX but the downgrade is the technology I would put the NX but also you got to pay for a lot of stuff just like German Brands I would get the new GLC but I don't know about that one I would get the Genesis gv70 but the downgrade is there's no Wireless Android auto or Apple carplay I would get the Audi SQ5 but again you got to pay for the rest of the stuff so I don't really know I might go for the Genesis gv70
I decided against the g70 for it's poor dealership support, extremely poor 360 camera quality, cracking windshields, whining lsd's, finicky and slow park assist, and the stereo's weak low end. I'm waiting a few years until Genesis fully separates itself from Hyundai and works out the kinks
The tech in the Acura is far better than anything I've had so I don't care about comparing it to the best out there. It's the driving dynamics that is the real difference maker
Own a SH-AWD TLX. When they gave us a FWD RDX as a loaner, I couldn’t drive it. On a dry day, the wheels were spinning everywhere. Our next car will be in this class. Leaning towards an X3 at this point or perhaps a Mazda. The TLX/RDX engine does not sound refined. While that is also the case with the X3 30i, bmw does a better job isolating the noise and vibration from the cabin.
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Most of us rather buy cars that are not recalled every other month for electric issues, faulty transmissions and Leaky fuel lines causing the engines to catch fire. But you go for it and let us know how that works out for you.
@darkivaz-aaa1145 And when did a Acura/Honda kill someone from their engines catching fire or burn down people's homes because there Hyundai/Kia products caught fire in multiple garages and caused people to loose thier homes. Last I checked, the 4 cylinder issue that was burning excessive amounts of oil was rectified, and Honda wasn't being Sued by its costumers.
I have 2019 rdx advanced and very disappointed about this car comparing even to my 2012 Lexus RX. The major issue of acura is in its tiny display, which divided in half, making it even smaller. The resolution of display and its 360 view completely kills me. I don’t use this option because nothing you can see all around. From now on, i will never never buy any acura car anymore.
It looked great until you showed the push button shifter. Uggh. I hate those. That screen looks like a picture frame sitting on a table. That's not what I call integrated. It's just an afterthought. Also, not a touchscreen. What year is this?
It won’t appeal to everyone but many folks love the RDX - I tried one recently and it has a very nice drive and engine. Sure it doesn’t have the most techie infotainment. But I still like the exterior look and feel of the car.
@@naveenthemachine depends on what you want. Sheesh. This needs a refresh ASAP. Honestly, there are not many good things to say about it. The facelift Tucson looks way nicer inside. Not to mention, the NX is better with the hybrid and interior, and the GV70 destroys them all. Acura kinda sucks since they're making no effort to compete.
@@cubanpete1290 why is that every time people mentioned Hyundai or KIA you comeback with a trolling remark? Are you jealous that you can't afford those two?
Neither one of one of those cars has the driving dynamics of the RDX. There is no other crossover on the market with the driving dynamics, sound system, seat comfort, tech features, interior space and advanced AWD system with a torque vectoring rear differential for anywhere near the same price.
Honda includes LED turn signals on the Honda CRV but not on the luxury SUV RDX? Sounds like some penny pinching accountants need to take a vacation....or have some CBD brownies.
Acura RDX - boring!!! Come on already….with car prices constantly going up, give us something….at least better fuel consumption! Exterior looks dated for 2024! I’ve had 3 different Acuras, and for value they were the best….now, not so much. Don’t know why they got rid of the MDX hybrid….there’s no reason that the RDX isn’t a hybrid at this point.
I don’t want to be vulgar about the center console, I’ll just say it looks vulgar. It’s trendy to hate on the piano black plastic, but the hate has merit and it has a lot of piano black.
Yes that’s true on the CRV value part but I have driven and own both and the RDX is in a different class. More comfortable seats and feels more luxurious ride and drive. RDX has a considerably more powerful engine.
I was surprised to see so many features missing or sub par in some way…. For what they charge for this it absolutely should have electric tilt and telescoping steering wheel, much better console storage, much better infotainment screen and system, etc etc. Disappointing. Hope 2025 brings improvements that make a significant difference
This generation is a step back from last gen: The ride is noisier (although this is due to the OEM tires) The stereo is a downgrade in terms of sound quality compared to previous gen, but the bass is better! the engine, although outputs the same power with the turbo, just sounds pathetic. I would've loved an trim option with 6 cylinders engine. The overall assembly/build quantity doesn't feel like it's a luxury car like a German car does. Then again, it's assembled in the USA so that's expected! Finally, the stupid gear shift button. For God's sake who is the fucking idiot that started this trend? Also, thanks to Acura for not doing a touch screen.

@@CarConfections thank you! I have the opportunity to buy a 2023 vs a 2024 that’s why. I’m just trying to figure out if there are any differences
@@sneakrpick really just the standard AWD we mentioned. Good luck with your upcoming purchase!
The cargo area has the same LxW footprint as an 80" TV
The RDX can compete with the gv70 and the RDX absolutely wipes the Lexus nx inside and out and behind the wheel in every single way
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
🙄🙄🙄
Infiniti and acura doesn't have the same prestige as the lexus and genesis will wipe all of them in terms of value🤣
@@evoemperor3776and Genesis comes with a price for similar option’s when comparing a spec advanced to Genesis prestige
@@MikeForsythe right… the dressed up rav4.
It costs significantly more than the Rdx, you only get 300 hp, and the same 0-60 of 5.8 seconds as that Rdx.
And you get tight backseats, small trunk, no spare tire, less features, and useless tech
For the price of a 450h you can get an xc60 recharge with 455hp significantly faster 0-60, better handling more features more space etc
The only Lexus I’d ever agree with you that’s absolutely stunning and world class is the LC500. That’s it
Is it a hybrid as well? 🤔
No
Great review but I would not spend $60,000. On a suv without a touch screen and with that weird track pad .
I like the touch pad because is diferent
The RDX is the benchmark for value priced luxury and sportiness
Well...until the Mazda CX70 comes out at least 🤣
I think that titles goes to the GV70, its similarly priced, more luxurious and its pretty sporty
@@OscarZheng50
I just looked up the prices and the RDX now starts at 45k when it used to start at 37k when this generation first launched back in 2018
I was still stuck on the 37k starting MSRP from 5 years ago...I did not know what MSRP depravity had taken place since then
I take back what I said...45k is not value...especially for a 5 year old vehicle
At that price point you might as well start looking at the G70, Corsair and Q5
@@joecool9739 hopefully the RDX refresh will bring something to the table, the RDX is lacking behind its competitors in multiple areas and it doesn't have its cheaper price to hide behind. 45k is only the starting price, the higher trims with more luxury cost a few thousand more
@@joecool9739you realize ALL cars went up in prices, right? That other car you thought was a "value", price has went up too.
@@cubanpete1290
They have the same MSRP yet the GV70 is on another league of design and luxury

RDX or X3M40i?
Depends on your budget. I have an RDX. My dad has an X3 M40i.
X3 is superior still vs the RDX but the RDX is a better value
@@naveenthemachine Depends on what you value.
Rides so much better than the Lexus NX.
The whole infotainment console needs to be resigned
I can't get over that Acura has not added a power steering wheel adjustment !! Once you have that feature (on my last 6cars , 4 Infinitis and 2 Acura MDXs), You will miss it. All those cars Auto Entry and exit, raising the Steering wheel and moving the seat back to exit and Vice Versa when you enter.
Just one more thing to break. I've never had to adjust mine once...
100% agree, my 2011 nissan maxima had power tilt. no excuses
As a woman I have needed to adjust steering wheels many times when I was pregnant AND wearing puffy winter coat 😏. Would need to make a video to show the hilarious manipulation needed to scoot behind the wheel in winter then.
The face lift of 2025 model must have a touch screen
Genesis G70 or Audi Q5 for me!
GV*
The G70 is an ILX-sized sedan
The GV70 is the SUV
The Q5 with that weak as engine? You are a soft leather fan, huh?, lol!
@@cubanpete1290 SQ5 says hi.
I fell ya. Same here
Get 2024 cx5 turbo premium & save some 💰...
GET 2024 BMW X3 M40i much better than Genesis GV70
I decided against the g70 for it's poor dealership support, extremely poor 360 camera quality, cracking windshields, whining lsd's, finicky and slow park assist, and the stereo's weak low end. I'm waiting a few years until Genesis fully separates itself from Hyundai and works out the kinks
The tech in the Acura is far better than anything I've had so I don't care about comparing it to the best out there. It's the driving dynamics that is the real difference maker
Better than any Lexus
Own a SH-AWD TLX. When they gave us a FWD RDX as a loaner, I couldn’t drive it. On a dry day, the wheels were spinning everywhere. Our next car will be in this class. Leaning towards an X3 at this point or perhaps a Mazda. The TLX/RDX engine does not sound refined. While that is also the case with the X3 30i, bmw does a better job isolating the noise and vibration from the cabin.
Feels out of date, but cool grill
I hope Acura never uses this startup chime again, it sounds straight out of a 90's GM product. The one on the MDX and Integra are much much better.
I like the chime
Outrageous prices.. buy a kia/hy.. better warranty and prices are reasonable..
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Most of us rather buy cars that are not recalled every other month for electric issues, faulty transmissions and Leaky fuel lines causing the engines to catch fire. But you go for it and let us know how that works out for you.
Yeah , I love the 5 years of Hyundai / KIA being the recall and bad dealer champs ...not a contest ya wanna win....good luck with the recall champs .
@@Coupe-sy9nk 250k engine seized up by Honda and Acura. Thank me later since you're jealous of Hyundais and KIAs.
@@patrickgagnon9662 you forgot about the recalls from Honda and Acura?
@darkivaz-aaa1145 And when did a Acura/Honda kill someone from their engines catching fire or burn down people's homes because there Hyundai/Kia products caught fire in multiple garages and caused people to loose thier homes. Last I checked, the 4 cylinder issue that was burning excessive amounts of oil was rectified, and Honda wasn't being Sued by its costumers.
❤❤❤❤
I have 2019 rdx advanced and very disappointed about this car comparing even to my 2012 Lexus RX. The major issue of acura is in its tiny display, which divided in half, making it even smaller. The resolution of display and its 360 view completely kills me. I don’t use this option because nothing you can see all around. From now on, i will never never buy any acura car anymore.
I hate Acura keep giving touch pad , please change to touch screen and get rid off turbo engine
That interior is just...unfortunate.
Perfact for me. Just wish it was offered with some electrification.....
My 2021 cx5 carbon has automatic braking & acura saves that for top 2 trims...smh.
It looked great until you showed the push button shifter. Uggh. I hate those. That screen looks like a picture frame sitting on a table. That's not what I call integrated. It's just an afterthought. Also, not a touchscreen. What year is this?
A minor refresh is due like in the latest MDX.
Do you have little hands or is that a big ass key?
Seems very outdated. Am I looking at a review of a 2024 or a 2016?
It won’t appeal to everyone but many folks love the RDX - I tried one recently and it has a very nice drive and engine. Sure it doesn’t have the most techie infotainment. But I still like the exterior look and feel of the car.
I dont think the RDX has better value than the GV70, its tech is lagging behind the GV70 and the GV70 has another engine option and electric option
But the rdx is a way better vehicle than the Lexus nx
@@naveenthemachine depends on what you want. If you want a sporty SUV then the RDX is better, if you want a SUV that is hella reliable with amazing MPG then go for the lexus, the lexus also has a hybrid option the RDX doesn't have. lexus also has better tech. only thing the RDX has over the NX nowadays is the driving dynamics, pretty much lacking in every other way
@@OscarZheng50 if you want mpg you don’t shop for a luxury car LOL
@@naveenthemachine if you want driving dynamics you don't shop for a luxury car lol, you shop for a luxury car for the smooth ride quality and excellent tech. the RDX's tech is below par and ride quality is on par, nothing spectacular
Honda >>>>>> Hyundai, that is the price 😄
That key fob looks massively oversized.
It is. Rdx owner.
Sheesh. This needs a refresh ASAP. Honestly, there are not many good things to say about it. The facelift Tucson looks way nicer inside. Not to mention, the NX is better with the hybrid and interior, and the GV70 destroys them all. Acura kinda sucks since they're making no effort to compete.
Really, I know you are a kia driver, right?
@@cubanpete1290 Don't see what car I drive matters. The RDX sucks and needs to be refreshed to be competitive.

Neither one of one of those cars has the driving dynamics of the RDX.
There is no other crossover on the market with the driving dynamics, sound system, seat comfort, tech features, interior space and advanced AWD system with a torque vectoring rear differential for anywhere near the same price.
Hey guys, it seems like the car is really lurching when you take your foot off the gas!??
Honda includes LED turn signals on the Honda CRV but not on the luxury SUV RDX? Sounds like some penny pinching accountants need to take a vacation....or have some CBD brownies.
That big ass key fob gotta go. Its like carrying a fat cell phone
Or even a bag-phone...
Front end looks modern, rear end looks dated
Whole car looks dated in my opinion
YIKES! I can get a larger Lexus RX350 or a FULLY loaded Palisade for that much!
The RX350 is nowhere near as good or as well rounded as the RDX. The RX is the joke of their segment
No replys, huh.
Acura REALLY needs to redesign that ridiculous looking center dash! I just can't get past it.😕
I don’t want to be vulgar about the center console, I’ll just say it looks vulgar. It’s trendy to hate on the piano black plastic, but the hate has merit and it has a lot of piano black.
I didn't like no touch screen.
Terrible place to put wireless charging wat was acura 🤔...
CR-V Touring has a much better value, and a touch screen... pass. Might as well look at GLC or X3
This generation is a step back from last gen:
The ride is noisier (although this is due to the OEM tires)
The stereo is a downgrade in terms of sound quality compared to previous gen, but the bass is better!
the engine, although outputs the same power with the turbo, just sounds pathetic.
I heard real gas mileage is worse in this .
Depends how you drive it. You can get what's advertised but your foot will have other ideas.
Get rid of that track pad…add a hybrid option, and I will be a buyer.
