Thank you for the video! This was a great comparison and to see what the PHEV actually does.
I have considered a grand Highlander, but comparison to price point and availability. I can find a baseline CX90 for under $40k new where I’m at. I like the fact that all trim levels have AWD with a non CVT transmission standard with an optional 6cylinder or 4cylinder PHEV.
In my high school years, I’ve always loved the JDM tuner scene especially the A80 Supra, NA1 NA2 NSX and the R 34 skyline. Had the experience of owning the 350z and G37. Times have changed for me now. Happily married with two kids, and in this era with all the turbo engine downsizing. That I can get a turbo charged, 3.3l, in-line 6cyl , longitudinal mounted with AWD in a 3rd row body and can get 24CITY/28HWY and I don’t have to spend over 50k to get one? So Mazda is getting my vote. Despite the detuned 3.3l only getting 7.2 seconds to 60 I can live with that. Plus it looks like there are tuning options coming available, at least one from JB4.

These tests are not just about 0-60 in my opinion- we do them to show you how quick these vehicles are. You need a bit of power, to merge, overtake, and drive fast when you have a maniac chasing you. It’s the best way to explain speed instead of words. I have a 260 bhp C class wagon and I want to know how quick it is in comparison to others- I just don’t have cars to compare it to lol
