Hey man this guy is the most honest guy on RUclips when it comes down to racing exotic sports cars. I'm talking about the numbers that the cars can put down on the 1/4 mile or 0-60. @@StrykerV8 911 turbo s coupe does 0-60 in 2.4 with a perfect launch. P100D does 2.4-2.5 as well. Where it sits between P100D and 720s is the price range.

So 🤷🏻♂️ The 70 kg makes a difference in a drag race.
@@Raptile07 honestly wouldn’t have helped by more than a tenth or two.... like having a 150lb passenger. A few years ago Motor Trend ran numbers on a 991.2 Turbo S Cab after they tested the coupe and I remember the 0-60MPH was like 2.5 vs 2.6 and 1/4 mile was 10.6 vs 10.8 so not enough to make the difference between it beating a car like the F8 or 720S
@@jameswillard1 In this drag race you could see that it would have made a difference, as it was very close in the second race. Either way, Porsche won both Drag Races even though the Ferrari started earlier in the second Drag Race.
The 992 Turbo S gets away so well on every drag race, but F8 and 720S have more power so given a long enough road will take the Porker

That color is Gentian Blue for those who missed it.
It's a nice colour, shame more people do not get it. The darker night blue is also nice.

As far as care, Gentian Blue is same maintenance as black. Swirl marks, even from hand washing or towel drying. Looks great clean, but one small Florida rainfall and its dirty.
That F8 is UNREAL...Porsche always punches above its weight class but gawt damn, to pull on the 992 like that...that F8 is moving. LOVE both cars though. Great stuff.

I really like that blue on the 992 Turbo S. Probably the quickest new car that is very comfortable and livable day to day, and great for road trips.
The Turbo S owner has a really calm way of talking
We know how fast any Turbo S at launch...but it's disappointing how the Porsche driver keeps letting off the gas when the F8 is about to overtake.
It's because they already hit the 1/4 mile
The 60-130 time of 7.3 seconds says a lot. Doesn't the 720s do that in 5.2 or something?
5.17 is my best in the 720S.... The Huracan EVO does 7.1, so would be a good race...
A 1.65 60ft on the street is quite respectable though.

I think the f8 is well priced for a Ferrari. In Europe is like 8k more than a turbo s and about 25k, 30k euros less than a 720s. People keep on comparing the f8 to the 720s but actually in europe the 570gt or 570s are closer in price to the f8 than the 720s. The highest spec 720s is sold with no special options at 305k euros. That means an average 720s is costing like 50k euros more than an f8. Thats something to consider.

Porsche is great. But I wouldn't say the company is best in the business when it comes to launching. It's advantage is AWD. Because, if you go RWD vs RWD, the 720s has launched quicker to 60mph than the 911 GT2 RS, despite the Possche having stickier tires.

I’m a huge Porsche fan, but in this case I would take that Ferrari
I think it's a weird comparison. The Turbo S is the way better daily drivers car with a lot more comfort, assistance-systems, a beautiful AWD for any weather condition and still it beats 99% of the comparable cars on the racetrack (with 650 HP). The F8 is much purer racer, more likely on a level with the 991.2 GT2 RS and McLaren 720S. The upcoming 992 GT2 RS will be on a completely different level again.

I'm amazed at how many people think rwd is better than awd from a roll. Its not even close. There's a reason the fastest 60-130 time on the street is Alan Arias GTR at 2.55
Killer cars. FYI...992 should be in SPORT mode for optimal exhaust sound. North American 992s also don't have a GPF so sound better than Euro spec.

This video would make a great subject for a feature article in one of the enthusiast magazines. The length of time the Porsche held the lead due largely, I assume, to its front to rear weight distribution and consequent traction advantage over the Ferrari’s superior power to weight ratio was enlightening. Great video!

Hmm... In my many many years of driving, more impromptu street races have been from a stop light or a 20mph roll at the most. I've just never randomly run into a stranger on the interstate who decides we should do a roll race from 70mph. Roll racing became popular for people who couldn't drag race.
@@zonapainter Absolutely not . I've had 2 AWD cars before and there is pretty much 0 stop light dig racing going on lately . I've had like 100 highway rolls vs 1 dig on the street in last few years in my AWD cars

Not to be THAT guy but those roll races were odd for the 911, and it sucks this wasn't the hard top. Still a great video though.
Odd in what way? Its heavier, has less power and higher transmission losses than the Ferrari. Ferrari also spent a lot of money on the in gear performance of the F8, its a very highly optimised PU which has other advantages over the 992 such as 2 extra cylinders for starters. For an every day car I would take the Porsche. Its very, very slightly slower in gear but much nicer to live with day to day. The F8 is a beast though and would be a blast for weekends.
For some reason the coupe 992 is a lot faster than than cabriolet as I noticed, am I wrong?
@@mohammedaljanahi The cab is c.+70kg. Will make a difference. Plus we dont know what fuel it was running etc and of course the road surface and AAT makes a big difference.
That Ferrari would destroy the Porsche in hard top form too in a roll race. The Porsche has a crazy launch but other than that the ferrari will handle it

Good races. 132mph trap is a bit low I thought on the 992, I was expecting more along the lines of like 135mph or so. Then again it was the vert.

Think about this for a second. That Porsche has a crazy launch, and does 132 mph in the 1/4. The new 765LT is rolling around 147mph at the quarter. That is a ridiculous ##@&$!@# difference.

This makes sense. Porsche AWD, transmission and launch software wins up to 100 mph despite hp and weight disadvantage, then RWD and more hp takes over.
Which is more difficult to engineer? I think the quicker car that maintains everyday usability and comfort while being cheaper.
For the money the 992 wins, but the looks of the F8 and head-turning credentials cannot be denied.

In most real world road scenarios, by the time the Ferrari catches up, the Porsche will be hard on the brakes for traffic, or the next set of lights. Ferrari should look at gearing.

Sounded like a manual shift. No good. Still don't know why people think that they ll shift better or faster than the computer.

Makes perfect sense the all wheel drive gets the advantage from a dig and the much faster overall rear wheel drive takes the roll race .

The roll races were pretty terrible for the Porsche. First one he hit the limiter and the second one he let off, the F8 got the hit and then he hit the limiter. Would have been interesting to get some clean roll races done. That said, the F8 is obviously faster above about 90 mph.
I was surprised it took the F8 until 144 mph to draw level with the Turbo though. That's a fast 911!

Why sorry? The Porsche won both drag races, even though the Ferrari started a little earlier in the second race 😂 It is clear that the Porsche has no chance in the Rolling Race (weight and horsepower). In addition, the 992 Turbo S Cabriolet weighs 70 kg more than the 992 Turbo S Coupe 🤷🏻♂️
Dont forget tho this is the cab and the ferrari has more hp 640 vs 720

The 992 Turbo S coupe wouldn't make much difference. Thanks to it's AWD system, the 992 Turbo S' acceleration is amazing from 0-135mph (or over the 1/4 mile distance). But beyond that, its acceleration is really not that impressive, as seen in the video. Even the less powerful and RWD 600LT beats in performance metric such as 60-130 and 100-200.
