One thing I'll say about Lexus is the insulation is amazing. I was shocked and also a little jealous going from my M240i to driving my brother's Lexus IS350 sport. Lexus is soo quiet. It really made the drive much more relaxing not hearing so much exterior road and tyre noise.

I've had my IS350 F Sport RWD for about 2 weeks now and it's great. Fast enough, wonderfully comfortable, pleasingly appointed and generally the fit and finish is just superb. It looks great too, but that's an individual choice thing. When I was younger I would have poured scorn on this car. Now, middle aged and no longer interested in the traffic light shoot-out I'm very very satisfied. It's a very well made pair of slippers, and I'm ok with that.

So Ik Lexus gets lotta hate in general, but I own a 2021 IS and I’m pretty satisfied. It’s certainly not for everyone, but the aesthetic design is pure art when contrasted with other rivals within the price bracket, Lexus financial systems are heavily assessable to internationals such as myself in Canada and mechanical build quality needs no introduction. Additionally, the fit and finishes are exceptional (given the bracket it’s in) and the sport seats are some of the best in the business. Performance on the objective metrics is a sore spot and fuel economy isn’t the best when compared to turbo 4’s but tbh very very few people buy an entry level everyday luxury sedan for performance driving on track in mind.
There’s a great sense of occasion and everyday driving experience here for those willing to sacrifice some fun factor for aesthetics, build quality, seats, reliability and sound (sounds better than any turbo 4 on market especially if aftermarket exhaust it, you’d be surprised).

People who grew up in north america have a strange view of car sizes compared to the rest of the entire world. The current IS is sized at what was considered a 5 series a couple of generation ago. I'm 6ft tall and can sit in the back of one with reasonable comfort. I grew up in the back of a smaller E46 3 series and never had a issue. In the EU a Vauxhall corsa/ford fiesta is considered a family car, and you people are getting new cars because the back of a IS is not big enough XD.

I love the way the intake sounded in the previous model, in fact, i like the way these 3.5l v6 engines sound.
I dont think the issue would be the powertrain, it's just the way you design the rest of the car around it.
This car would be absolutely brilliant with a manual 6 or 7 speed, rwd and a torsen diff.
Simple Toyota V6, Lexus shine and comfort, and a GT86 sense of humor. That would have been awesome.

2022 Fsport RWD , no manual and has torsion slip differential, summer on BBS wheels and adaptive suspension.. I had initial guilt trading in 540i 2018 G30 for this car , not anymore . It’s a better daily driver , nimble handling, excellent insulation, fit and finish . 1800w Mark Levison makes the HKs in bmw sound like cheap speakers. Only thing I miss is the low rpm turbo punch from b58 and zf transmission. Everything else this is a better car with tank reliability . I have grown up to do rage racing from signal to signal . For folks complaining about the Lexus infotainment just use the voice assistant, if you know what you are saying it covers everything you ever need from music selection , source, messages , climate control and cloud based poi navigation. It works better than bmw voice assistant or use apple car play and use Siri . I actually stopped using apple car play because Lexus system works just fine for day to day

Very crisp with good contrast/black levels. And the new center console is a lot more expensive-feeling than the one I had in my 2016 IS 300, with larger pads along the sides. I guess they could have done more with it, but for a refresh, I think it's awesome.

I'm very skeptical of their reason for switching to lug bolts. I think it's more likely a cost-cutting measure to reduce the total part count during the production phase. Honestly, lug bolts are a pain in the ass if you're used to studs with lug nuts, especially when it comes to servicing. If an overzealous mechanic overtightens and damages your lug bolts, you'll likely need your whole hub replaced instead of a $8 stud.
