Honestly I drive a 2021 Corolla se and I find the 4 cyl more than enough, for the most part we can’t even utilize a car 100% bc of speed limits and traffic especially where I tend to drive at.. I drove a Lexus es 250 and comfort was amazing, the exterior specifically the rear is what caught me in the first place.. it’s supposedly underpowered but it’s just been a nice car to drive

The Lexus IS 350's interior may be a bit dated, but it's much more luxurious than the brand new Acura TLX Type-S's. You can feel the difference as soon as you get into the driver's seat.

Yep. TLX's seat upholstery will show wrinkles way earlier than the IS. It shows in dealerships, and in all the review videos on RUclips. I'm surprised the reviewers didn't bring it up at all. That's not entirely true. I have the TLX while my sister has the IS 350. The IS's soft surfaces are definitely way better and more comfortable, but it's hard surfaces look and feel cheap (e.g fake metal plastic everywhere, including the paddle shifters). The TLX's seats and soft surfaces are a less plush than Lexus's, but everything that looks like metal is metal (confirmed by Acura itself). So it's a bit a of draw imo.

Wow, complaints, complaints. I love my IS, love the way it looks, drives and the way it makes me feel. I am glad I didn’t listen to all these reviewers who rip this car apart. It’s an awesome daily driver, it isn’t meant to go on the track. Oh, and it will last forever in terms of reliability. Yes, it isn’t perfect but no where near as “ bad” as you portray. I’m 5’11, yes it’s compact but that’s what I like about it.

I know, that V6 has aged like fine wine if you ask me, sure it's not quite as fast as a turbo'd 6 cylinder realistically it's hardly any different. I went from a BMW 335i to a 2019 es350 and honestly I liked the power delivery on the es350 better. I'm sure the BMW was faster but you could hardly tell.

The type S isn't different enough from the much cheaper A spec to warrant that price. Not to mention people are paying up to 20k over sticker for the type S due to demand. You shouldn't compare the 350 F Sport to the TLX Type S. It's not a fair comparison as they aren't competing trims.
TLX Type S is $10,000 more expensive than the IS 350 F Sport.
It would make much more sense to compare TLX A-Spec or Advance Packagewith Lexus 350 F Sport. The A-Spec is STILL $2000 more expensive, but at least it's closer.
While F-Sport is 'Sporty', so is the A-Spec. It's still 273 hp with a 10 speed sequential with paddles, and a handling oriented AWD system.
The Type S is a very special high performance trim, Lexus does not have a comparable option for this, I guess you could compare the IS500 F-SPORT.
It would be like a less extreme version of comparing the Lexus F-Sport with AMG or M cars. It's just not trying to do the same thing.

Drove both of these on the weekend, but with the IS 350 AWD as we narrowed the list down from Genesis G70 and Audi S4. We currently have a 2015 TLX SH-AWD (V6, Canadian model) and so looking for a slight elevation in a daily driver. The S4 is priced much too high in Canada, and the G70 with the fresh was not possible to find locally to test drive one (plus concerned with recently report quality issues). We plan to keep this car for at least 8 yrs, so out of warranty ownership is top of mind. The TLX Type-S is quicker, firmer suspension and an airy cabin feel. However, it felt like a step down on interior quality from our existing TLX, really shocked about that. The IS 350 AWD F Spec 3 package did feel a slower than Type S, but a bit quick than current TLX we have. The interior is a huge step up from our current car, and definitely a step up from the Type S, and all for a bit less money. We’ve ordered one, a 2023 black exterior, black interior and will add in the Lexus Sport Exhaust since the all the sound that is in the cabin is speakers (TLX Type-S has that as well). Now we wait for 4-5 months.

If you plan to keep the car long after the warranty ends, you chose well. I would have gone rwd but I understand why you went with AWD in Canada. Even though the Kia has a 10 year powertain warranty, you're far more likely to use it once or twice vs whatever length Lexus has, and ancedotal evidence is Genesis service is nowhere near the same level as the other luxury brands....Lexus has a good rep in that area. Surprising you think the current TLX interior is a step down from your previous model, but it is true the new Civic interior (while looking good in pics) is about a half step behind my 2021 Mazda 3 turbo hatch...both in look and feel of certain materials used.

They both look amazing from the outside but the interiors and performance are disappointing. My choice would be a M340i or C43

Type S(0-60 5sec) competes with the IS 500 (0-60 4.3) . You should compare the IS 350 (5.6) with the A spec.(6 sec) You honda fan boy need to be fair smh.

The IS 350 F sport price is very similar to the Type S. He mentions several times in video that the 500 wasn’t available.

The MDX Type S will use the same engine as the TLX Type S , that statement was false regarding the engine being exclusive.

No idea where y'all bought your Lexus IS 350, but my 2022 costed 51.5k after tax. I have the same white-black interior. The acura doesn't hold a candle to it.
