    Just want to say I got a Weber Spirit 2 E-310 on a free site that is only 2 years old with the same issue; the igniter did not work, so I took it apart and scraped off the build up, and viola!, it works now. It also works on newer models! Thank you!!

    This was the best tip. Thank you! I used some alcohol on a Q-Tip. It worked. For a bit of extra protection, I used some spray contact cleaner I had in the garage. Your tip is right on the money.

    You da genius. I just tried your method and my striker now works after 8 yrs. So nothing wrong with striker, just build up of lime and other residues at the battery +/- contact point. You can use sand paper or also use small screw driver to scrape off the build up. I've also used aluminum foil to create more stable metal-to-metal contact.

    Worked great on my 12 year old Weber S330 grill. I also sanded the metal connects on the batter holder. Pressing the button clicks just like it used to. Thanks!

    Cannot believe I didn’t think of sandpaper. Just getting ready to put my Genesis 330 back into service after a year+ on the bench (winter/oos move).
    The inside of the battery compartment is bright blue and gray, and I did the alcohol trick but no luck.
    Really appreciate your video! 🙏👍
    I’ll update if the sandpaper does the trick!

    Outstanding - thank you! Note that just scratching both surfaces with a small knife blade also does the trick if you happen to be either lazy, pressed for time, or both like me. Cheers!

    You can just strip an electrical wire and run it along the same path as the metal on the button to the outside edge of the button. Insert the battery to make sure the bottom of the battery makes contact with your bare wire. This is how I fixed it and it lights up quicker than ever with a thicker copper wire.

    Am I glad I found this video. When it comes to fixing things, I'm an absolute dolt, often making things worse. Replacing the battery is about all I can handle so I was bummed when that didn't resolve the problem. But this little trick worked! And I like the brief, straight-to-the-point video. Thanks!

    i think my issue is the spring/wire circuit. after taking it apart i noticed basically the whole thing was full of water, which was likely there for a long time. my guess is the thin wire that goes into the coilbox has corroded and letting little to no current pass by.

    For me the problem was corrosion between the spring and a small metal wire on the battery tunnel side going down from the spring to the bottom/ignitor itself. That wire is difficult to see without light and magnifying lens. Took 2 Days to find out crucial non-contact point. 😂. Edit: Seems like my spring was cut, spring should not detach from the socket…

    I have this exact model of Genesis grill. May I ask if you possibly know what Weber ROTTISERIE model goes with this Genesis? I have bought several on eBay and they were all the wrong model. Weber refuses to tell me when I email them, likely because they no longer make a model they can sell me for this. Much appreciation!

    Hi...can't find the Spirit 2 E310 vid. My igniter clicks, just fine. The issue is, it's hanging by the 2 wires below the front panel. The manual has no info on where, how to reattach. Support was, unfortunately useless. I sent them a photo as an email reply the rep says he didn't get it. Any ideas? MUST I remove the front panel? Thanks much. Love your idea about the sandpaper creation!

    My issue is the 3rd gas bar(farthest from the igniter) doesn’t always light. It clicks a few times but doesn’t catch. What would that indicate?

    • @MaverickMakersUSA
      @MaverickMakersUSA  Год назад +1

      Could be the ignition chamber assembly. May just need to be cleaned off. Could try spraying some compressed air into the area, if that doesn't work you can disassemble and clean the area.

    • @swami1
      @swami1 Год назад

      @@MaverickMakersUSA I hit it with compressed air and it improved the response. But there is still a very slight delay compared to the first 2 bars which light instantly.

      Yeah looked it up on RUclips the battery was underneath the right side. Opened up replaced it and works great again.
