    Nice video; but I checked with Weber re: emergency lighting. In order for the burners to ignite, you must turn ON tank and one burner knob before presenting the flame to the gas.

    Alaska Granny I was given this exact grill from one of my clients and haven't used it yet. I had trouble finding a video regarding this grill, and my igniter is broken . Good thing I found out about that whole to manually turn it on with a match .thanks for the info your a life saver. By any chance do you know which igniter will be for this grill? I found different ones in eBay but they have different model numbers. THANKS IN ADVANCE and GREAT VIDEO

      I am glad you are enjoying your grill. I love mine, and it is indestructable. You should enjoy this grill for a long time. Nice you got it for a gift. I do not know which ignitor would fit your grill. Do you still have the manual? It may list replacement part numbers. Maybe call the Weber Grill Company and ask. Good luck with your Weber grill.

    Question.. I have a Weber summit gold and everything was working okay until tonight.. everything starts up fine but the first two burners, of the temp control
    Knobs are switched from high to low, the burners lose the flame and go off? The other four burners don’t have this problem but the first two, only work while set on high. The electrode is lose with the collector box being open on top. Could this be the issue? Or is it a propane air flow issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated

    • @AlaskaGranny
      @AlaskaGranny  6 лет назад

      The only time I had trouble getting the burners to light was when I turned on the burners before I turned on the propane tank. Close all the burners, turn off the tank. Now turn on the tank, and then turn on the burners. Hope that is a all you need.

    so how do you fix it when it wont light with lighter? I have a full tank of propane, still no flame.

    • @AlaskaGranny
      @AlaskaGranny  7 лет назад

      First I would try taking off the propane tank and reattaching the hose. Sometimes if you start over, things work. Make sure the burners are off, and turn the tank on. Then turn on the burners. If you have the burners on before the tank, sometimes it won't work. If you are sure the gas is flowing, check the burners to see if they are clogged. Remove the grates and look. Remove any visible clogs. Then, turn on the gas and try to light directly at the burner with a long lighter. Be careful with this one! Hopefully, one of these tricks will work.

    • @hockey137
      @hockey137 7 лет назад

      AlaskaGranny I've done all that. It seems like the gas is stopping at the control knob....? I can hear it flow when I turn the tank on. checked for leaks, nothing...

    My weber is 30 years old. Still going strong. Once in a while a taste metal rust in my meat pattys but still good. I'm just a cheap fcuk to buy a new BBQ :) 😭

    • @AlaskaGranny
      @AlaskaGranny  7 лет назад

      If rust is on a small area, you should be able to remove the rust from the racks, and eliminate the taste. I would scrub it with a bit of steel wool, rub it with some oil, and turn the grill on high. Not an expert, just what I would try. If your racks are too far gone, maybe you can buy replacement racks. I found these on Amazon. Maybe they would fit your Weber Grill. amzn.to/2q6GmF4 My Weber is old, too. No reason to get a new one if you don't need one.
