Totally agree and still very thorough.
And that's exactly the reason why he's not as popular as other car reviewers. I bet most people find him pedantic (not me) because they have short attention span and want some cheap laughs. That's why goofs like Doug De Muro are much more popular than Alex.

I’m glad to see y’all helping out other RUclipsrs. Most people with huge followings like you have wouldn’t help promote the upcoming reviewers. It just goes to show that you really care about the job and don’t just look at it as a competition. There’s no negative from helping others out I always feel. Also do they have the difference in over trail vs over trail plus yet?

it usually takes me seeing a vehicle a few time to know if i like it but the GX over trail is the one i would get. Maybe it is a look into the new 4runner
The good thing about this car is that it gives us an idea of what the next Land Cruiser Prado will look like, and that will be stateside as well!

Do love that Lexus is keeping a traditional screen behind the stearing wheel and a large navigation/media screen in the centre. Do agree the more square screens looks better than the NX/RX shapes
I’ve got an 18 GX…one of my beefs with it is that I have to use the info screen to adjust the air conditioner.
GX will sell to the off road community, and the TX to the family community, both will sell well

GX Overtrail for me hands down. The 3 row GX will most probably sell more due to the soccer Mom seal of approval.

I love the GX I think it reminds me of the Mercedes Benz G550 and the difference is the Lexus is 10 times more reliable and dependable

I would love to see a GX Overtrail with 3rd row seat option. Perhaps an LX for the larger size and additional seating plus the GX for the cool factor is the ultimate choice. I still wish that the Land Cruiser 300 would make its way here once Toyota addresses the production issues.

Kirk is right. TX will sell better because they're making more of them. Even if the GX has a 100% sale rate it won't matter.
Toyota nailed it with the styling, I doubt they’re going to keep up with demand especially for the TX which has no real competition in terms of interior space. I do wish they would have made a plug in with the 2.5, I think the range and overall mpgs would have been significantly better but that V6 is like butter which is probably why they picked it.
Technically, the closest in interior space to the TX (the mechanical corporate cousin of the Toyota grand highlander) is the Buick Enclave (the corporate cousin of the Chevrolet Traverse). Even though the grand highlander doesn't technically compete with the TX, both of them will definitely be cross-shopped as to what features do they value more or what gives the better value. The enclave is the only other midsize luxury suv that has decent cargo space behind the third row and decent space in the third row like the tx. So both of them are considered supersized midsized 3 row SUVs, and will be cross-shopped not just among their segments, but with their corporate cousins and with even the full-size SUV segment as well as minivans due to the size of both vehicles.
Actually, the hybrid powertrain in the GX will be based on the Tacoma IForce Max. This is per the Toyota Global Newsroom press release. I'm assuming the LX700h will receive the IForce Max powertrain from the Sequoia.
That is possible, but it is also possible that the GX hybrid will use the same one as the sequoia and upcoming LX hybrid as the land cruiser prado will be coming to the US. The land cruiser prado (gx corporate cousin) will most likely not have a turbo v6 and will most likely utilize the hybrid max and maybe a turbo 4 as well

Love the boxy style. So glad they toned down the hideous grill from the older Lexus models. I might consider buying one-but no hybrid for me!

It might depend on RX sales for TX. Some buyer of previous Lexus product don't like changes in powertrain like Turbo-4 or Turbo 6 with or without hybrid tech. Acura took a hit with its 3.0L V-6 sport hybrid at first and discontinued all hybrid tech for all +2020 models.

Everybody going to like the GX & TX because it looks like a Range Rover with Toyota reliability.
I believe the reason the mpg is awful in the GX is the sheer weight, boxy design, 33 inch tires, and fulltime 4WD.
That rear plastic cover between the tail lights & the reflectors is where the Land cruiser Prado tail lights will be.

Agreed on the styling front. As far as comparison to the Range Rover, not sure you understand the Rovers market that well. Two totally different worlds.
actually the range rover is not its direct competitor. that would be the land rover defender 110. but yeah, the defender could look like a kids toy to some people

I think Lexus hit two home runs. The GX is an old school looking boxy, tough off raider that may not sell a ton, but has lots of credibility. The TX will sell like hotcakes, as many families will want the space and the luxury it affords. Nice job Roman, always enjoy your videos. 👍🏻

The TX will sell better than the GX, and the new GX will steal some 4Runner sales until, or if, they update it.

That is a nice looking wine glass. Thin lip. I think the booze is how they get the reviewers to overlook how the new powertrain still nets to the same poor mpg as the outgoing model.
The MPG may still be only slightly better than the outgoing model but there's more output available, and more gear ratios to take advantage of the new engine's rev characteristics. And no doubt, compliant with newer emissions standards.
This NEEDS a STOUT 6.5 V-8. Shame How they Push the B.S On The Mass, iT Will Use More Resources HaLf Way Through Junture.... Towing iS a Joke, CompLeXITY IS REAL.

You can keep your jeep, Tacoma, Bronco, ect. This is the ultimate rig for off-road long travel!
This is the first Lexus in years that does not have a big fugly grille, making it the first Lexus in years that I would even consider buying.

That is one nice Toyota gives people both options a SUV made for full time rock crawler & mud overland driving & a CUV for on road & light gravel off road driving I would take th GX over the TX I can really see a new Toyota 4Runner in the GX
I’lll take the GX please. Lexus may have just designed the best looking off-road worthy SUV on the market…I just hope that the LX (top tier) is enough to keep the price of the GX down.

It should, and it WOULD definitely be miles (literally) more reliable than whatever Land Rover can produce!
The Defender still comes with a V8 😂 So far Toyota still hasn’t killed Land Rover so I highly doubt Land Rover fans give a damn about a boxy underpowered SUV.

What is better the GX 3.5L V6 or Ineos Grenadier 3.0L straight 6?
One engine won't start developing oil leaks after 6-7 years or need to have its plastic thermostat replaced. Meanwhile the jury is still out on the V6 because its too new.

I want the rugged look of the GX with that 3.5 hybrid in the TX . I don’t even need the center lock differential. Imagine a GX look getting 30 miles per gallon . I like the look but I don’t think I would ever go off road

First time seeing the TX. The rear 3/4 angle looks just like a Dodge Durango. Not loving that, but the GX looks great!

I bemoan how the new GX has a very pronounced transmission tunnel hump in the 2nd row. The old GX460 has an almost flat floor.
