    Curious as to where you are getting your lumber prices from. Lumber prices, at least in the US, are ridiculously high right now. Those 6 2x6's would run me over $60 USD at current rates.
    Also, and maybe I missed it but dimensional lumber is fairly wet and after milling it will warp/crack/split etc and even more so when resawn....which is evident at 0:41 where you can see the cracking along the edge of the first board. With the pretense that these are being made for profit and assuming that you'd prefer to put out a good product how do you intend to combat this? reputation is paramount in this type of business and having a bad one is a sure fire way of failing to make it a sustainable business at any level.

      Thanks for the comment. I do purchase the wood in bulk any chance I get. I get my lumber from Building Materials Bargain Center in Salem OR, which is considerably lower that the two big box stores.
      When I purchase in bulk, it is able to sit in my basement on a wood rack that I built years ago. This helps acclimate the wood to my basement but by no means completely solves the problem. There have been only 2 times that I can think of off the top of my head where people messaged me about a board, to which I've gladly made the trip out and made adjustments, free of charge. I haven't added this into my cost analysis as I wouldn't know where to stop.
      You are absolutely right about the reputation part. Thanks for the comment!

      Fine, I'll take the compliment without a qualifying statement. Either way, it's good to hear that it made sense as I was worried that video in particular was a bit lengthy. Buy hey, I kept it under 20 mins. Thanks again!!!

      Thank you. I'm glad to be back. I'd like to get in a rhythm of putting out videos more frequently 🤞. I think it was good for me to get EP 6 out of the way because it was substantially more difficult than the previous ones...now future projects seem a lot easier.

    Love how you are documenting all of your costs and projections. That design should do well for you! One thing I noticed was the background music level needs to be lowered a bit. It was hard to hear your voiceover and was distracting to me as you were explaining the dimensions. Maybe a thought, use a music only track instead of something with lyrics, the levels are competing against each other. Aside from that love your videos!

    • @makemoneywoodworking
      @makemoneywoodworking  4 года назад +3

      This makes sense. I should have had other people look at the video prior to posting the video as I am partial to the music because it's my brother's band. I'll try to get my brother to help me out with some instrumental stuff. Thanks for the constructive criticism as I'm sure people will just pour it on. :)

    Very cool and great project to make for yourself, friends and family but not to make any money with. The unfinished table sells for $140. Not counting any of the tool costs, just the materials used, the cost is $110. You make $30 profit. Not worth doing as a money maker if it takes you more than 2 hours from start to finish. I believe it would take substantially more time than 2 hours if you include the time spent going to buy the lumber and hardware so your hourly wage is not much.

    • @makemoneywoodworking
