Hey Matthew! No need to ever apologize for the quality of your videos. It is your content that I come to your channel for, and I have never been disappointed. You are not just a woodworker of a very high quality, but you are also an artist who is able to see things that others can't. If your videos were grainy, and black and white, I would still watch them! BTW some of my favorite channels are by people who don't even speak English! They are woodworkers, who out of sheer necessity do some pretty amazing things, like make dowel makers out of an old, used circular saw blade or door hinges, or make a table saw out of an upside down circular saw. Something I would never do, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do to woodwork.
My husband and I ran across our first video on your channel. I was wowed with your tips and tricks and immediately subscribed. Honestly, I haven’t done any woodworking for too long and doubted my ability to get back into it. Your videos have reignited my passion for building. I’ve saved many of your videos already. From pure sincerity, thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge and the tips and tricks that are invaluable. Your genuine subtle humor is great. Work smarter not harder is perfect!
I do a woodworking business full time and often have found that the simple "pretties" sell the best. The ones that usually cost the least time and money to make. This is a great side hustle to have! Thanks for the stunning ideas!!!
Being european and seeing 2/5 projects are with guns is just a real culture shock hahahah. NO HATE. I love your projects and you being so open about it. Keep up the good work! Thank you for the video
I mean, Europeans are allowed to have guns too, well most of them anyway. But you can build these and sell them to farmers or advertise it to gun club members.
Than you for much for the inspiration! I'm a kitchen designer with a long history of cabinetmaking. I've been trying to think of how to make extra money on the side using my woodworking skills. I'm amazed by what you can make with just a little wood, bought or found free. The truth is you don't need a lot of tools to get started. I have the basic tools, miter saw, drills, skill saw. I have lots of hand tools, some are bombproof antiques. Your advice about starting with Smalls is genius. I always believed I needed to make big pieces to sell, not so. Smalls are A LOT more profitable and time saving. It's all about cost vs profit. Make jigs to turn the work into a quick and easy task. People have no idea how powerful a jig is in a shop when building stuff. In the cabinet shop I work in we had a huge wall of nothing but jigs. Like you I do eventually need to get a bandsaw. It cuts a fine kerf wasting very little wood, and you can split boards and cut veneer pieces to maximize your wood usage. A joiner is okay, but not necessary especially since I have lots of long hand planes that can do the job of joining boards. Again, thank you so much for inspiring me to get off my butt and start making stuff to sell.
I've been a professional wood worker for forty years , low end stuff to high end including super yacht interiors . been wanting to retire but still need to make money so this looks very interesting to me.
Matthew, current woodshop teacher here, I love what you do and I love the way you explain things. Gonna have kids making a lot of your projects, THANKS dude!!!!!!
Ive been watching a lot of your vids, i was diagnosed with ms a couple years ago it has come with some disabilities that put me out of work, your vids on making smalls has made me feel like i can start doing something useful again so thank you

A neighbor linked me your channel and wow 🤩. I am pumped about these simple garden items. With spring about two and half months away here in central Cali, where I live people GARDEN!! So informative and generous of you to share with us. Thank you!!
I love how this wasn't your typical, "make cutting boards, or boxes, or a bench"! This was unique stuff that are entry-mid level difficult that look 'tough to make'
I'm so glad I found this channel....I love recycling and I wanted to make things in my garage for extra money without having to selling new junk on ????.....and I'm really glad you confirmed that there is enough customer base in one's own town.
Thank you for making all these videos! Carpentry work runs deep in my family. My generation is the first that doesn't have a carpenter, instead I work with metal. These videos made me setup a shop, and order some supplies to start trying my hand at wood working. My dads face kind of lit up when I told him why he was coming over to help me set up a shop. Hopefully I can actually make these things look that good haha
Dude, you rock! Just found you (not that you were lost), and I am blown away at your talent and willingness to share said talent with us mere mortals. I will be a subscriber for the rest of my life.
Hey Matt! After many years of building projects I decided to start selling my work Thorgerson Woodworks. From my own trestle tables and night stands, this is extremely useful and brilliant! You have a distinctive talent and you get it! Thank you for sharing!!
I have been creating original woodwork and metal art for 50 years and understand why you get bored doing the same thing more than a few times. Once I get good at something and the challenge goes away I get bored and start on new concepts.
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. My 16 year old is looking to make a little cash and enjoys wood working! As long as your language is clean we will definitely be subscribing!
This is something I want to get into... I always loved woodworking DIY stuff around the house. Nothing major, but little things. My fear is thinking "I'm not good enough versus everything else I see out there, how could I make it work out!".
We have a lot of reclaim rustic orders, as well as a bunch of white oak and walnut. Other than those we have about 8 or 9 other finishes that we get a lot of orders for. Real Barnwood is huge right now too
I ran across this video while looking for something completely unrelated but great video. Love all of them! My Grandpa & I are have started our own business... Woodwork, crafty type stuff & tumblers. I LOVE these ideas! Thank you so much for sharing! You do really beautiful work.
This is awesome. I'm a carpenter foreman by trade. I do alot of formwork for high rise construction. I've been craving getting into smaller more detailed carpentry like this and this was the motivation I needed. ( plus some money to get my tools going lol) but anyways I'm subscribing man great advice and great work!
Wow, thanks man! I've been debating for years if I wanted to bite bullet and get into selling woodworking items. I've been building stuff for myself, including my own kitchen cabinets, for 25 years. You may have made up my mind!! Thanks again
Made a faux beam for my fireplace mantle.. boom, ended up selling about twenty of them for 150. The idea came from another yt ber Made a concealment coffee table.. boom sold around 300 of them for 200. I’m almost at the point where I can quit my job now, orders are starting to pile up for coffee tables with flags, crosses etc. headboards with falling pressure released handgun holders. Hey my man! Thanks for watching and the comment! And the answer to your question... yes I have. But that would mean that I would have to get into custom orders. I have tons of requests every day for customs but... I cant stand doing custom work. That takes the fun out of it for me. I like the freedom to do a build and move on when Im tired of doing it. Yea Im odd that way lol.
Hi Matthew i love your videos, your presentation is awesome and simple to understand i love woodworking and you have really inspired me with great money making ideas .thanks and keep inspiring us please. From South 🇿🇦 Africa.
I made one of those distressed beams for myself with a terrible table saw and mitre saw. I have upgraded my tools and bet I could crank a few of these out.
MATTHEW!!! Beautiful work, just found you today can hardly wait to have my husband see this and please know we have subscribed to your channel! Thank you so much great great video.
Awesome stuff! Rarely do I watch a video all the way through without skimming for the highlights but this one hooked me. Thanks for the passing on the knowledge and positive outlook in people!
Question: I'm 47yrs old, my dad was a cabinet maker and I've been building things since I was 9yrs old. Tonight for fun I've been watching multiple YT videos on building workbenches etc. I've been a cabinet vision designer, worked at over 15 commercial cabinet shops .... I have yet to use a pocket screw, yet tonight every video I've seen the builder uses pocket screws. Like ALOT of pocket screws. When did this become a new trend and why? What happened to using dowels or biscuits. Zero noticeable holes, easy to use (especially with the glues nowadays) etc, etc. It's almost like everyone finds a reason to use them. Actual time to use is usually hidden dividers that are part of a complex multi shelf/drawer system requiring weight bearing strength, that's it. Since it's usually hidden you can drive a screw at a angle after pre-drilling without ever needing the fancy pocket screw mechanism??? And is less visible, wood hides the massive eye sore pocket screw hole. Why the extra effort and eye sore for nothing?? Just curious.
First video I’ve ever seen of you sir... but something compelled me to sub. Sharing your knowledge so openly for the good of others... perhaps it’s time to learn a new skill.
Tip … I think in my Handy Man magazine about 20 years ago I got a tip. Write the length of the board you’re saving on the end of it. I have tons of lumber that I either had left over or ran across too good of a deal, that I got a bunch. I have a big lumber rack that holds my lumber. It’s 15’ x 5’ and it’s full. I don’t know how many times I needed a board such and such ft or inches long. It was so nice to just pluck it off my rack. It’s easy to see it’s thickness and width, but the length….?? If you use up your scraps and only about ten boards, I’m sure it wouldn’t matter, but I have at least a hundred boards.
Good job Bro!! You are very relatable. I’m just a novice, VERY novice, lol, but I try to pick up as much as I can. I will definitely stay “glued” to this channel! 😂
Great little video, amazing how much you can make if you just put your mind to it. So many people want to make money doing woodworking and lose their shirt and then give up. I’ve been doing it for well over 40 years and when I was in business I had more work and I knew what to do with. That’s why I teach now. You got a watch that you don’t get burned out. I did spindle turning as part of my business back in the 80s and 90s and I’ve turned over 100,000 table legs by hand and one day I just you stopped.
Yep I feel ya. That’s why I don’t do customs. I can make what I want and as many as I want and be done when I want. That keeps it fun. I make x amount and then sell. Then move on.
I know my local folks and they just don't part with money that easy. I need to find new clients because my current folks would want me to make that stuff for a quarter of what you sell them for.
Just seen Your TikTok video via Facebook so I Subscribed.Im new to Leveling Homes and doing Subfloors as a Profession...so I'm excited to learn Your Carpentry tips and tricks 😀
I have my old Japanese house now. There is so much room inside the house and nearby storage buildings that it isn't funny. Also, the family I bought it from left a lot of stuff behind -- which also includes a nice bit of scrap wood. I absolutely want to build some stuff again, and I feel that since I'm in Japan, the people here would love to buy custom made stuff like this from an American. I used to build cabinets for several years so I'm no novice with woodworking and tools. I'm going to give it a try!
Obelisk is $30-$60 depending on material from the local stores. Trellis is $15-$24 from local stores. Bummer. Got excited watching this. No idea how long ago the video was made. Just throwing this out there.
Appreciate this, I love working with wood, but still honing on my craft. I spent most of my time painting and am pretty good at it and doing finish work on trim and baseboards. Also painted cabinets and you can say I Mastered that, but enjoy woodworking. Thanks again and God Bless!
This guy's out here teaching people how to fish. What a legend

You’re right on the concealed shelf. Like you I got board with it (pun intended). I made about a dozen last Xmas. Great video brother
Ty man.
Oh noooo, those fake beams with cornicing 😂😅😂 good video though! I love how Yanks have a nice shelf or cupboard "hey stick a gun in there"
I've stumbled upon a wealth of knowledge. I need to get busy! You've inspired me👊🏻
Appreciate you Matthew.
No worries!
I love your wood panel walls behind you great work bro
Thanks! My kiddos installed those for me! Teach what you know...
Amazing video. Great quality. No wasted time! You are amazing!!!
Thank you!
Good job Bro!! You are very relatable. I’m just a novice, VERY novice, lol, but I try to pick up as much as I can. I will definitely stay “glued” to this channel! 😂
Welcome my man!
Thank you for you knowledge and willingness to helping others.
No worries!
wow just now realized who you look like, you look like one of the weaver brothers of big daddy weave Christian band god bless
Keep up the good work! I hope i can make it trough 40 years.
A MILLION THANKS!!
Great video! Just getting into woodworking and was searching for ideas. I’m going to make a couple of these for Christmas gifts. Keep the work up.
I know my local folks and they just don't part with money that easy. I need to find new clients because my current folks would want me to make that stuff for a quarter of what you sell them for.
The obelisk looks like an old fashioned oil derrick or windmill tower. Still pretty cool looking though.
Just seen Your TikTok video via Facebook so I Subscribed.Im new to Leveling Homes and doing Subfloors as a Profession...so I'm excited to learn Your Carpentry tips and tricks 😀

No Worries! Its a great way to keep your mind and hands busy!
I to am retiring from a good paying job and want to make $50k a year from my woodworking and welding. Think it is doable?
You make me wanna start a new hobby! First video I’ve ever watched of yours and I can’t wait to watch more.
Hey thanks Matt. I have to give a few of those projects a try. I appreciate the video David
No worries David!
You are exactly the inspiration that i was needing...THANK YOU..!!!
Okay. I know you were a little cheesy about the ring holder, but I like it!!
It's really benevolent of you to share your knowledge with others. Good stuff.
Dude this is the first video I’ve seen of yours. Awesome ideas! I’m pumped to get building!
Not sure where your getting your material but you need to find a cheaper store. I just rebuilt a trellis for $8.
@@MatthewPeechWoodworking I was meaning, the stores are selling them for that price. Made out of multiple materials.
Appreciate this, I love working with wood, but still honing on my craft. I spent most of my time painting and am pretty good at it and doing finish work on trim and baseboards. Also painted cabinets and you can say I Mastered that, but enjoy woodworking. Thanks again and God Bless!
Way to go Matt! Love your inspiration and I'm not even doing it for resale, just for the challenge.
I just subscribed to your channel and I’m loving them. Please keep them coming my man.
Thank you for helping us!
