Glad to hear. I created this channel because it was a channel I wish I had earlier in my woodworking journey and I hoped others felt the same way. I've wavered on its merit at various points and appreciate the encouragement as it does take a decent amount of time to accomplish what I'd like to accomplish. I will say that you have to be patient with your products and be willing to let them sit. I don't sell all of mine before I begin my next video. So thank you!
Glad to hear. Some people do not like it so much that they've stopped watching. Even though I like it, I'm sure people don't stop watching because it's not there so I think I have to remove it from here on out. It's my brother's band. Armorada.bandcamp.com and it's free.
Thank you for the kind words. It's going slower than expected with time away for my 9 month old being limited, but I hope to get down there as much as I can.
I have seen people use wooden pallets for the thinner material (slats) which seems to be a good option. Would like to see it with some shelves and doors so that I could store insecticides etc but be able to lock them up. All in all, nice project.
True, pallet wood slats are thin. However, since the bench is outside, cedar is better against the elements. If you make one with doors and shelves, I’d love to see a picture.
Yes, I have done that in the past. However, the client that wanted a dry sink brought her own white rubbermaid tub, so I increased the depth of the upper shelf to accommodate her tub. All that is entailed really, is just two more cross braces beneath the upper shelf. Make sure that the cross braces are not flush, but a little lower to allow for the lip of the tub to rest on the cross members. If I get another commissioned piece with a dry sink, I might have to make a separate video. Thank you for your support! -Wes
Woodworking Monetized TY- I ended up making a hinged door on the last 1/3 and just placing a bin under it on the middle shelf I built. I drilled a bunch of large holes in that lid so the dirt will just fall through to the basin below. Couldn't find a cheap sink & this makes a larger usable work area. Now the neighbors want one. Used mostly reclaimed wood and redwood 4x4s for legs- I didn't do vertical slates-just left it open w 2 cross bars. I did use a router to round over the edges of the wood slats at bottom so the water will fall over the wood easier & it looks really nice.
Great video and inspiring of many I'm sure. I might recommend to turn down the music in the back. While it is nice to have it during those quiet times it is so loud in my speakers I had to keep turning my volume up and down so I could hear what you had to say when you were commentating.
I'm definitely thinking of a future video on this explaining why...kind of a top 10 orb5 count down, but for short...The blanket ladder. I listed them Thanksgiving weekend, and have since sold those 10 and 2 more. However, I spoke with a guy and on fb and he said they don't sell in his area...but I saw his "staged" photo.
I live near Salem, OR and purchase the bulk of my supplies at a local lumber yard. Not always the nicest stuff, but if I put in the time to dig around, I can usually find enough nice pieces to use. I’m very fortunate to live in Oregon where there’s a lot of wood to access.
We’re getting ready to build a potting bench and came across your channel when searching. I sure like your model and adding to your tools/supplies with your profits! But I think your selling yourself short. Your time is worth more. I’d increase your prices. I know I’d pay more.
I do agree, as I have sold the potting benches for more in the past. On the channel, I have most of it priced to sell for two reasons. 1) since I'm trying to appeal to a mass audience, I'm selling at the lowest price. 2) they're priced to sell because otherwise I'd have to store them. Thanks for your input. By all means, sell yours for higher!👍
Did you give up or something. I quit work to follow your plans and do this as well. I got a couple weeks until my next mortgage payment is due, please show me how to make and sell something else so I don't have to move!
I'm sorry to hear that you jumped the gun and quit your job prematurely. I'm working on my 3rd video now, however, I don't do this for a living as my subscriber base reflects. I am a special education teacher full-time with an 8-month old daughter. If you unsubscribe, I completely understand. Otherwise, stay tuned.
I got a reprieve, a new credit card application showed up in the mail today, and I'm already pre-approved! Not only that, but I'm also working with a Nigerian Prince to help him move his fortune to the US and get out from under his father's dominance. Can you give me a hint as to what your working on next? I've literally flooded my local market with giant Jenga games and potting tables. I saved a bunch by buying a pallet load of slightly warped 2X4s for $20.
I'm a little offended you didn't give credit to your chief critic at the end of your video. Just because I gave you unsolicited advice doesn't mean I shouldn't be thanked.
So glad I found this page. I was unsure about starting my woodworking shop to sell hand build items but this gave me the confidence to do so

How many boards for just one table? Thanks for the video.
cedar slats or hemlock fir for the structure? Or both?

can you do one with sink and dry sink for dirt?

Awesome! Do you have any pictures? I haven't thought of making holes as I've just attached the lid slats farther apart.

Where do you find cedar slats that size for .75¢? I always end up using cedar pickets that are about 3.50$. It would be nice to save a little money.

Do you sell these online to ship or for local purchases only?
Local only. I'm willing to drive up to 15-20 mins to meet someone. Thanks for the question!
where wood working doesn't have to be an expensive hobby, say that with a straight face in 2021.

There are worse things to spread it with.

But pulling if off you finger, once it dries, is so oddly satisfying!

had to quit watching cause of the over loud music.
