@@adamnabuchodonosor Vietnam is not weak... Zulu are not weak. But france Attack small weak nations I mean watch how many Africans can speak the French language now... try to beat a world major power without help I would say.
Those jokes about France being a surrendering country... given our long history, we've naturally won and lost quite a few battles. Europe has had more than its share of battlefields; now we have the European Union, which has at least achieved lasting peace among our nations. Speaking of lost battles, the one fought by the Académie Française to ban English imports into French... sorry for the old beards but we do use imported words like "week end, blog, marketing" in modern day French. This is how languages evolve and stay alive, by incorporating foreign words. Many "real French" words have foreign origins, e.g. "amiral" comes from Arabic and this so typically French word, "bistro" (also sometimes written "bistrot") comes from Russian. As for the music quotas, we also hear a lot of Anglo-saxon music on French radios. I don't know if the radios have chosen to disregard the law but I don't think they're 70 % French - I'd say 50 %. As for this weird remark about the toxoplasma gondii, this is the first time I hear about that as a Frenchman. Maybe our bodies are used to it, but we have pretty strict quality and safety controls on food, and we are not any sicker than anybody else in the developed world. By the way, snails and frogs are actually not common food, they're occasional and rather expensive delicacies for those who like them - and not everybody does (especially the snails).
French old people of the académie française complain about english words coming to our language, but they don't know that 40% of the English comes from French because of a Normand King ?
@@jfrancobelge Exactly i don't see english complaining about the word beef that comes from "boeuf" or when they say crème fraiche, apostrophe, attaché, "entreperneur" homage, or "sous-vide" etc etc

The 6-7 hours of work isn't true. Most people works around 8-10 hours/day. It's just that we are suppose to work 35h/week and if you work more, you're paid 10%, 25%, or 50% more each hour after 35.

I am not from France so I don't know if they really enforce the French music on the radio but I wish we had something like that in Germany. We have so many German bands / singers but they almost only play English songs... Imagine 90 % of the music on American radio would be in a foreign language like French. And if an American band would like to sing in their native language they almost wouldn't have a chance to be played on radio. That's just sad.
The French film industry is still alive thanks to such protection laws. It is the only one that survives in Europe unfortunately. This is called "cultural exception" in France. It's actually older, and the expression "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" comes from an old episode of the Simpsons. When I was 12 (1997), I went to the US whith my school and one of the american kids of the exchange was always teasing me, calling me a cheese-eating monkey. I was clueless about where that came from and only understood years after. But don't worry, this story has a twist: I started calling him "cheese monkey" all the time. Bullshit alert ! : english words are not banned at all from french language ! The Académie Française (French language authority) actually put many new english words in the official dictionnary, that is updated continiously, and re-printed every year. Since its origins, french language has integrated many foreign words from : celtic, german, english, arabic, russian, italian, spanish, latin, greek, etc... languages. And many languages, english included, have integrated french words like : café, restaurant, hotel, rendez-vous, flirt.... Beware of stereotypes !!!
The parasite thing is either or joke or a delusion. The rules about french language are indeed enforced. Radios complained and from 40% french it became 35%. But yes, it is enforced. And it is nothing weird. You only feel it is weird because your native language is english. The guy in the video is right. We don't like the globalization of english anyway. I certainly don't, even though i learned it out of boredom. Better learn nice ones instead like Japanese or Russian
A vrai dire, ça me va bien comme ça.
Ah! C'était "good weather friends". Maintenant, comme ils disent, "to each his own".
It's funny, but as French, I was even asking myself if it was "true" and intended sarcasm about the metric and the french way to work lol and I am of those only few French who work 60 to 75 hours a week (I am gendarme, a military man with police missions and duties), but I have vacations and won't abandon or even "surrender" them LOL :D

The part about radios is kinda bullshit. There are quotas to have a certain percent of french music on the radio, but non-french music is also played during the day. Same for the pretended banned english words like E-mails ou week end. We all use these terms in France. The french Academia is made of old and senile men that doesn't control anything The part about hours of work is also complete bullshit. Most of french people are working 8-9 hours a day. People outside of our country are calling us lazy, but the thing that they don't know is that we maybe works less hours per day, but we don't have big breaks during the day, compared to others. We're not less productive, it has been proved many times. The apero is kind of a stereotype. It's a thing during vacations and week end, not on work period. No, most of workers are not taking naps during work... We eat and WE return to work, as everyrging. Some people are taking naps it's true, but it's during lunch, like a nap of 20-30 minutes, not more.
Man as a french..this video triggers me so much.. You got mixed up with Italian clichés, you made the worst "haann they surrender" joke where litteraly France is the mot successive country in the world in terms of battle. Toxoplasmose is absolutely not eradicated ! But almost never lethal for adults 😅 We're just way more cautious about it with the unborn/newborn babies than we once were. But it is true that more than 30% of the population is infected. The major symptom is a great affection and proximity (or will of proximity) with cats.
It's true USA, everybody must to admet they never surrender during a war 🤣 Maybe just sometimes... IDK hmmm Cuba? Afghanistan ? Vietnam ? And how to forget the success in Irak ! A full victory with no consequences except freedom for peoples !

Not really angry french noises. "French surrender" is angry American noise because France refused to participate of the second Gulf war and believe the lies of the US government. They hate when we say "Bro, you wrong" and the history take truth to the France and Germany. American thinking what they want, the history writing the other story.
0:27 It is absolutely a French word but as always, you butchered it. 6:38 Okay, one of the most famous and most cliché songs there are about France and you don't know it, took note of that. 9:30 Lies. *TriFate Geo* Hello, To understand the 40% of French songs imposed on the radios, we have to flash back to the 80s and the opening of the F.M. band to so-called “free” radios (non-State radios, private radios, therefore). Indeed, before 1981, radio and television in France (and in many European countries) were under state monopoly. The problem with all these new radio stations accessible to the French public at the time was that radio programming was open and unrestricted. And, these radios only broadcast Anglo-Saxon music, more than 80% sometimes even 100%! French artists have rightly begun to complain about this to the Ministry of Culture. Who, noticing this gap has indeed been obliged to legislate to force radio stations to let French artists express themselves and thus be able to make a career too. Without this law, many French artists, and huge stars wouldn't exist. Or, at the very least, would have remained unknown. In reality, in terms of cultural protectionism, the Anglo-Saxon criteria, including the Americans (they're the most protectionist of all), are much harsher and more restrictive than those imposed in France. Peace, folks.
Love your video. Just one thing, apart from ww2 really bad show of force (though the resistance movement was pretty big), throughout history we were very much badasses (not necessarily a great thing to boast about), but the napoleonic wars (7 wars with all Europe vs France) all won by France except the last bit due to the treason from the Russians. So, all in all, we know how to defend ourselves :p
0:45 Carrefour is a supermarket brand so this product is an affordable rip off, a "first price" product. Those brands are actually widely buy because they're cheaper and still good to eat (tho they may be less healthy)
Some additions to the GeographyNow! video: 1/ All regions don't produce wine. Only a few of them do, and there is no real competition between them. Of course, Bordeaux is the most famous city regarding wine, because it is surrounded by the best lands able to produce it. 2/ Enforcing these music quotas on the radio doesn't mean it's lame music though. We have all the imaginable music styles possible, depends on the radio. RadioClassic will play classic music, RTL2 will play more pop/rock music, etc... There's music for everyone. And if you don't want to listen to the radio, you can always stream music on your phone through Spotify, RUclips, Deezer, etc...
Which French regions do not produce wine, apart from Brittany, Normandy and the North? Champagne produces wine, Alsace too, and of course Burgundy. There is wine throughout the Loire Valley as well as that of the Rhone, the Jura produces yellow wine and the Alps wines such as Mondeuse or Apremont, Provence produces the famous Rosé de Provence, Languedoc is a great wine region, there is wine in Auvergne (St-Pourçain, for example), in Midi-Pyrénées, there are great wines such as Cahors, Gaillac, Fronton or Madiran and in the north of Bordeaux, there is Bergerac or Cognac (which is a locally produced wine brandy) or Pineau des Charentes. And even the Ile-de-France vineyard which had disappeared due to urbanization is being reborn! In reality, there are few regions that do not produce wine. Just because you know nothing about it doesn't mean you have to flaunt your ignorance!

Bullshit alert ! : english words are not banned at all from french language !
The Académie Française (French language authority) actually put many
new english words in the official dictionnary, that is updated continiously,
and re-printed every year.
Since its origins, french language has integrated many foreign words from :
celtic, german, english, arabic, russian, italian, spanish, latin, greek, etc...
languages.
And many languages, english included, have integrated french words like :
café, restaurant, hotel, rendez-vous, flirt....
Beware of stereotypes !!!
The parasite thing is either or joke or a delusion.
The rules about french language are indeed enforced. Radios complained and from 40% french it became 35%. But yes, it is enforced. And it is nothing weird.

*TriFate Geo* Hello,
To understand the 40% of French songs imposed on the radios, we have to flash back to the 80s and the opening of the F.M. band to so-called “free” radios (non-State radios, private radios, therefore).
Just an advice... NEVER say that french are surrenders....

Some additions to the GeographyNow! video:
1/ All regions don't produce wine.

Though I just find it funny that they're startled by this obligation of french music on radio in order to promote french culture in its borders; when these two nice lads, apparently, come from a country where most kids at school starts the day pledging on their flag 🤣🤣🤣
