South African Katharine just so happened to be in town while we were filming and volunteered to co-host with me! She loves her country and loves talking about it. One of the main stereotypes is South Africa is corrupt and has no money. In this case from my personal experience, people keep calling South Africa corrupt and poor. Namibia 🇳🇦 & South Africa 🇿🇦 are twins when it comes to demographics, customs & traditions.
I agree. It's mainly because of South Africa having ruled Namibia for 75 years.
even the flags have basically the same colors
They were both designed by the same person.
Its still an intresting concept if the two united (obviously unlikely, nor do I support expansionism) but I always support nations forming greater wholes.
Either way SA and Namibia are both beatifull nations
That's because when Germany lost WW2, Namibia (German colony) was put under Apartheid South Africa's administration.

Much love to you Sergio!
This was done exceptionally well. It not only covered most aspects of our country it did so very correctly and objectively. Thank you. It is a video that can be used in a classroom in various subjects.
It's kinda amazing and I like on how South Africa has an app where it alarms and warns you when the power is going to be out for a significant amount of time or hours. Unlike here in my country where the power just shuts off unexpectedly or randomly and the issue would be fixed but in an unexpected amount of time. I kinda like that South Africa.
Brother there is nothing amazing about South Africa giving us the load shedding schedules... It's like being thankful to your torturer for giving you water!
We don't have just load-shedding, but a crumbling infrastructure, there power goes out at random times and takes days to repair at some times, even our water supply is unstable, they refuse to upgrade the asbestos pipes in my town.
Every other day there is a burst water pipe which causes massive water flooding's and damages to our properties. Our substations are left open with absolutely no protection or locks so the poor go to sleep there, then they make fire to stay warm and boom. They also steal the batteries out of our cellphone towers so we lose signal for days in a row.
Never be exited to visit South Africa, you'll be robbed within 30minutes of being here.
No it's not amazing, there are multiple apps which some don't work properly, the load shedding schedules are inaccurate mostly which defeats the purpose of the app. The electricity crises has been going on for a long time with no strategy being implemented to fix the issue, not to mention the skyrocketing unemployment rate, the wealth gap, increasing crime rate. So yeah South Africa may be praised on certain attributes, it is by no means a good country, not by a long shot. The country has great potential but the problem is the government and how they run this country.
Noah is sort of too perfect, visually.

I’m really impressed by y’all a lot of people either emphasise on the issues of SA and others tend to ignore it, but you guys got it both and did not focus to much or outright ignore these things. And as a South African I’m happy to say that this video is great 👍.
And as for the South Africans, Ek stuur my liefde na julle, have a good one
Als een Nederlander stuur ik mijn liefde ook naar jullie :D
Edit: Can you guys understand Dutch by reading it? Since they said in the video only 40% is from dutch
@@zacuery5097 ja ons kan jou 'n bietjie verstaan

Hey. Howzit?
Kan u my verstaan?
Ek vergeet ook altyd wat jou taal genoem word in Afrikaans en in jou💁♂️taal of engels😅jammer
As a South African this video left me with the biggest grin on my face 😁.
I’m a South African and I hate my country. It’s so wicked and dangerous

Hey guys, we love your show! It really helps with our general knowledge and school projects! Just a note, in the South African artists section you missed to mention Dan Patlansky - one of the best guitarists in the world! - from LJ
The sardine run is amazing. Up and down the east coast just barrels and barrels of sardines being pulled from shallow waters.
South Africa: good maybe I could have 2 micronations insi-
Mozambique: hmm no
EDIT: Eswatiny and Lesotho are not micronations, sorry for that mistake
lol
Lesotho is bigger then armenia not a micronatiom
xd
Lol
Micronations are not countries, recognized by no UN members, like Sealand.

Me: doesn’t it always with the British.

Fun fact: The crown Jewels are South African. The Cullinan Diamond was discovered in 1905 and was the largest diamond ever discovered. Since South Africa was a British colony at the time, we had to hand over our diamond and it was cut up and made into what we now know today as the crown jewels.
Loved this episode btw, barbs always kills it
Ahh yes, the British monarch and South Africas stolen gems, a true love story.
@@aobakwemhele6613 right? :)
Not exactly. The diamond was unsold for 2 years and then bought by the Colony of Transvaal (a British dominion) and subsequently presented to King Edward VII, who had them cut by a cutting company in Amsterdam. None of the diamonds are currently used in publicly displayed crown jewellery, although many were used in older necklaces and one of them was used as the base for Queen Mary (wife of George V)'s crown.
and to this day, the british monarch and parliament refuse to bring the cullinan back home
@@mafenza Dude it was literally cut up into pieces and put into jewellery, which itself is so old that most of the jewels made using the pieces are considered historical artifacts. It wouldn't make any sense
As a gamer, I wish to see an open world game set in South Africa someday.
That would be neat 👌
@@quidam_surprise We are making it stay tuned!
I would buy that game.
Check out Far Cry 2, as much as that is a fictional Central African nation a lot of the map is pretty much rural South Africa especially the populated areas not to mention the people there are speaking isiZulu, isiXhosa and Afrikaans which are all South African language.
@@accountretired9479 i thought the game took place in middle Africa
Will we get to see the Spain episode this year, or do we have to wait until next year? (a month has passed now since South Africa)
