Great video! One important thing you could have talked about is Lake Kivu being one of the only 3 exploding lakes in the world (and by far the largest). With a tremendous amount of methane stored under the lake, the gas has the potential of erupting all at once out and into lower lying air surrounding the lake, with the potential of suffocating anythingin the vicinity of the lake (a 2700km² lake mind you, and with 3 heavy population centers surrounding it, in one of the most densely populated regions of africa). It's also the source of a great deal of energy from methane extraction as you mentionned in the video :) Could also have mentionned Louside Mushikiwabo in the famous people list, a minister of foreign affairs, then secretary-general of the Organisation internationale de la francophonie. Anyway thanks for all this work, I'd been waiting for this video for a long time!
I vote they start doing major cities after this and important regions. There are individual cities more important and larger economically and by population than some of the countries in this series. London, NYC, Tokyo, and Rome hav a larger GDPs and populations and a large impact on the world than some countries
hey Geography Now, Rwandan here! thanks for the video btw. really good on you for having done a little research. i have older parents (my dad is 75 this year), my dad used to tell us cool stories about what religion (worshiping) looked like waaay before the colonization, and i've always found them to be fascinating. wish you would've added a piece about that in the video. I have visited Rwanda several years ago, beautiful country, very clean, safe, air is great no pollution, food is tasty, people are very friendly, and I had great time, the only thing I had a problem with were local traders they would usually charge more or trying to cheat you for an item of lower value if they see you are foreigner, but that kind of stuff is normal in many countries. Overall I had great and fun experience there and will go back again, love Rwanda.
I'm thrilled that you had a great time! Rwanda has worked incredibly hard to recover from it's past, and it's always so nice to hear when foreigners go there and visit. Chris Nguyen What do you mean by a black country? what does skin color have to do with the kindness of the people?
Hi I’m Cosmic he is an ignorant person who withholds white supremacy mindset and devalues Black African countries. Pretty pathetic.
Chris, since your last name is Nguyen, I assume your Asian? If someone said the same about your race, especially, during this Coronavirus is spreading would you even care? It’s ignorant for you to think, let alone say.
Beautiful to see an African country that has been through so much like Rwanda developing at a phenomenal rate. An inspiration to other developing countries across the world.
If everyone is as chill as Edmund in Rwanda I'm definitely going to visit.
Welcome sir
Come and look at me. Hahahaa
Welcome to Rwanda
"everybody has to volunteer"
uhhm,,, barbs... i don't think you know how volunteering works
Ed Berg lol 😂
well, people are encouraged to volunteer and most people do. however on the day between 7 am to 11 am you are not allowed to drive around or practice normal activities since everyone is cleaning up. shops are closed etc. many people just stay at home and chill. It was so interesting to learn more about Rwanda. I knew nearly nothing about it before. I couldn't help but see some similarities between it and Switzerland. We both have the franc as our currency, 4 national languages and are rather small countries. We even use the same 2 types of power outlets 😂😁 Really enjoyed this episode can't wait for the next 💪🏻☺️
Edit: We love cows here to. Because of chocolate and cheese (obviously 😁)
Don't forget the mountains. We share that too. That's why it's also called the Land of a thousand hills

I am a Chinese, and Rwanda seems to me like a very remote place. However, I had a classmate from Rwanda last semester who told me a lot about his country and I am so impressed by the progress they have made. I think Rwanda sets a role model for all African countries. Respect

Lovin that "discount" Steve irwin

I watched Hotel Rwanda in history class in high school and I'm really impressed how the historical segment was handled.
It is a good movie but a bad historical source. One of the reason being that the guy was not entirely a good samaritan, rather one who would only accept people after paying him.
Oh, the traders will definitely do that haha! If you go back you'll find lots of improvements, Rwanda makes huge leaps year after year 😊👍🇷🇼🙏❤️
