@@cantaro5958 That's stupid. What's the point of watching a show for its premise if the entire first season is to set up the premise? Can you imagine if in Breaking Bad, Walter White didn't start cooking meth until the last episode of season 1?
that's because it's characters are static personas that literally never change whatsoever. Of course they're consistent, THEY'VE BEEN THE EXACT SAME PEOPLE SINCE EPISODE 1. Meanwhile the characters in Helluva Boss are subject to plot development and go through character growth and recession in various ways, it's not inconsistency it's the characters simply growing beyond their initial introduction.
It's an interesting problem. People want the show to focus more on the I.M.P company, but the episodes that do (Murder Family, CHERUB, and Unhappy Campers) are some of the worst reviewed episodes of the show. The question becomes, "What's the solution?"
Have the writers actually care about writing I.M.P-based episodes. Which they clearly don't because they put way more effort into the Stolas-based episodes.
The solution, in my opinion, is to put more effort into making the assassinations more interesting. Tldr:there assassination jobs don't focus on the job, they focus on character drama. Make the jobs more interesting. Show I.M.P infiltrating a paranoid occultist millionaires home to kill him. Have them stealth into a villia and kill a target in a accident like hitman. Have sinners pay more money, so that way imp kills the target in a specific or ironic way (guy who loves swimming drowns) Instead we have these messes. Murder family: it's the first episode. It's always going to feel weird when you go back to a first episode. Cherub and Unhappy Camper are terrible (again, in my opinion) because they feel very contrived. They could have killed that old man at any point and it would have made no difference, they could cut the episode length in half and still have told the story they wanted. Unhappy campers is hated because its contrived for 2/ 3 reasons. 1. Its another moxxie episode that focuses on his inferiority complex and need for outside validation (even though we had OTHER episodes cover this), this didn't really need to be in here. 2. They had M&M find the target in 1 minute. All that bullshit that happens at the camp is pointless, it didn't in any way contribute to them killing there target. 3. The millie subplot while OK feels like it was put in there because people wanted Mille to get more screen time/an episode. (Still failed at that in my opinion, now instead of a 1 dimensional character she's a 1.5 or 2 dimensional).
@@PlanetZoidstar That's the vibe I'm getting too. I've seen people claim that "If it was just about the company, then the show would be boring. Shows like Scooby-Doo and Smiling Friends have proven how false that claim is.
@@thelordoflemonz Exactly. It's not the premise that's flawed but the priorities of the writers and their lack of interest in their own premise. The fact a large portion of the fanbase exploded on seeing Martha and Mrs. Mayberry return shows there's still demand for I.M.P stories. I enjoyed that scene more than anything to do with the dumpster fire that is 'Stolitz' Smiling Friends is an excellent example of how Helluva Boss could have stuck to its premise and still been good. But poorly written episodes like C.H.E.R.U.B and Unhappy Campers drag the I.M.P audience engagement down.
I disagree with you there, Hazbin still revolves around Charlie redeeming sinners up until episode 6, then with Sir. Pentious getting into heaven at the end. Even if it goes off that topic for a bit, it is still relating to the characters (such as Angel's episode). There are multiple Helluva episodes that are completely unrelated to the original premise.
@@AA-sw5pbhazbin desperatly needs less clutter imo, the concept is doable in 8 episodes 20 min just not with constant cascades of random new characters that serve no purpose to a linear narrative, which would be fine if it was more of a comedy i guess, but not when you also want to be a drama with big emotions and hard subjects and the slightest shade of discourse to satisfy an actual adult audience. A writer's adaptability to the lenght that's given to them (which is rarely their choice alone) is a skill on its own
@@AA-sw5pbfound myself disappointed by hazbin and always seeing like one thing that actually was important to the plot only on for 5 minutes, seeing that it is a adult show it feels very… childish.
exactlyy. the episodes nowadays are just a pattern of stoliz being cute, blitz fucking up, and stolas forgiving him another time.. there's no depth to anything happening and its extremely repetitive
@@aesliyaa Out of all nine episodes of season two that has been released, only three of them had the relationship between Blitz and Stolas be a major focus (The Circus, Full Moon, and Apology Tour), four if you count Oops due to the sub-plot of Stolas getting the Asmodeus Crystal for Blitz. And reducing Stoliz to "just a pattern of stoliz being cute, blitz fucking up, and stolas forgiving him another time.. there's no depth to anything happening and its extremely repetitive" is reductive at best, and flat out worng at worst. The series makes it very clear that Stolas and Blitz have numerous problems (both together and separately) that they need to fix, and the last two episodes have them messily breaking up. It's fine if Stolitz is not your cup of tea, but don't purposely misrepresent it.
Like don’t get me wrong the episodes with them are good, but I agree, I’m more into the action than the sad romance. I just find it more entertaining. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
The Martha and Mayberry moment in Apology Tour is like the one instance the series got in touch with it's silly crude tone again. Didn't try too hard to explain anything, it just lets the moment happen and at most, we can piece the puzzle together based on what we know after the events of Murder Family. For ten seconds, the show felt like the best of what it used to be.
It's dumb that they claim it's not canon. If it isn't canon, it makes the joke not make sense of Blitzø pointing out of them being together, it just makes it random.
@goob3005 the pilot is not the murder family episode. He says the pilot is not canon* while on screen showing a clip from the first episode to confuse you. The pilot, which you can look up, was a dumb episode about Luna and how moxie and milly didn't like her working at imp or her attitude. An attitude she does not carry into the series. So them confirming that isn't canon*.... makes a lot of sense.
Georgia Dow, The Virtual Celebrity, TBSkyen, and VGMarkis: Am I a joke to you? Hell, this video was made by a collaboration of Iox and Ayy Lmao, two channels that have the majority of their videos on hellaverse content.
I still care of Helluva boss. It's just so that every episode can't be like the episode 6. It will always be my favourite indie show and I will watch every new episode and we will get them, no matter what.
Wonderful video, it's so refreshing to see someone talk about the issues with the show in a constructive manner. Personally i miss the pilot era of the show. It was so fun to open reddit or twitter to see people theorizing on what will happen next. Compared to now where we basically know everything that's happening either from the episodes themselves or from viv/the team revealing plotpoints on other websites. I remember people in 2019 discussing the lore and worldbuilding, however all anyone cares about now is shipping. It's a bit tiring.
As someone that loves good romance, I really appreciate that they take romance seriously and it's so well written, because I rarely find good quality romance, and because of that, many believe that romance sucks and that's it, I like Helluva Boss make a difference with it
Same here, I like the serie and will always like it but really, does all the discussions around the shipping and knowing the sexuality of fictionnal characters really matter or is absolutely necessary to the lore/plot of the show ?
I really do wish Stolitz stayed as a villain, because it would've kept the original story, but also would've made interactions with Striker and other characters deferent. I would've been really cool to see. I'm not upset with what we got, but I do think the original take of Helluva Boss was much for fun and exciting.
The main complaint I heard is that people are tired of the Stolitz drama and want more episodes centered around missions. I am just enjoying every episode for what it is.
Kinda ironic cause the show mostly focus on the main character and his relationships issues with others and the challenges he needs to overcome, so it’s obviously going to be talking a lot about his relationship with Stolas.
Personally I don’t mind the sad romance episodes. Like I love them, but I’m more into the action cause I just find it more entertaining. I still enjoy the show and I’m still grateful.
Then you have low standards for relationships in media and quality writing, her writing is literal sewage and doesn't deserve the 18+ rating, it's literally for edgy 14 y/o's.
@Someone-tuf I don't know, I think the missions were never the main focus. Maybe in episode 1, but already in episode 2 we starts to get the beginning of the more heavy plots. To me it seems like the mission were here as a way to make the main focus of the show progress, which are the characters and relationships development. But they were never the main focus.
I wish they stuck to the pilot's style while keeping the emotional romance stuff as a sub plot. Season 1 was damn near perfect, but season 2 episodes are a hit or miss. I don't hate any of them, but I feel like they could've been a bit better.
Yeah, they don't need to necessarily scrap the romance and drama but having it be the main focus again and again when there's so many other plots they could explore is making me lose interest HARD.
At first I kinda enjoyed it more than the murder assassins stuff but as the series went I’m started to get frustrated. Every time I feel like their relationship is improving they end the episode abruptly or they throw in a new obstacle that makes things worse. I do like their relationship & think they’d make a fun opposites attract couple, but I’m starting to lose my patience. Why must Blitz & Stolis happiness be constantly taken away from them?
@@sweetpea2604 I think it's probably how a lot of people feel about the show now. When season 2 started out I thought people were being over dramatic for leaving the show and bad mouthing it but by the time the third episode came around I started to see where they were coning from. Put simply Helluva Boss is depressing, it's frustrating and a lot of people are over this toxic will they won't they with Stolas and Blitz. Its sad how they started out as unhealthy but promising to outright toxic now. It took me until episode 6 of season 1 to start taking their relationship seriously but I think what broke it was the promise of a part 2 to episode 7 that never happened - yes episode 8 eventually came out but it didn't add anything to the ship that was the high focus at that point. I'm tired with how Vivzie has messed up Stolas and Blitz and their relationship so much. I'm tired of watching Stolas being a depressed push over, I'm tired of Bliz f***ing up in general. I understand the argument that these characters are being written like real flawed and traumatised individuals but there's a limit to how much you can rinse and reapeat it until you need to give up on someone and move on. These guys are nearly in their 40s and are still acting like this! It gets old and pathetic to watch after several years! It seems that Vivzie found a toxic pattern that works momentarily when it comes to shipping and the show ran that to the ground in its second season! I don't know where this show is going anymore! I don't know if I'm still meant to feel sorry for Bliz and Stolas anymore since we now know that Bliz is a chronic heartbreaker and not just with romantic relationships either! He constantly feels sorry for himself but doesnt do much to put himself in a better light in the eyes of others. Stolas is a chronic cry baby and a push over to his abusive family and refuses to inform his daughter on the reality of the abuse that he's had to suffer. He says he wants to protect her but Octavia has no life skills and cannot perform magic properly and she's meant to be his successer, she's the one the goetia family prioritise over Lord Stolas, really!? Stella is a joke of a villion, how the hell did she pass the test on being Stolas' wife? She is an embarrassment to the goetia and their dumb for letting this toxic money drainer anywhere near Stolas! Why is Stolas not a priority!? Andy and Stella are far less important and have less power than Stolas so why are they prioritiesd and why is Stolas so neglected and abused? So much for Paimon wanting Stolas to be a mightly and powerful king, he let Stolas grow up to be weak and to hide his head in the sand and forced into an abusive marriage and to have a child when he himself is still a child. And what is with the arranged marriages to just the worst demonds imaginable!? Their magical beings, their not humans! They don't need to follow toxic human customs! All of these issues pile up and make the show so frustrating and depressing to watch.
I believe the most obvious reason is that it's becoming centered around the Stolas and Blitz dating drama rather focusing on I.M.P, the other Deadly Sins and possibly more.
Well honestly, it would be infuriating for the show to not focus on what the company originally intended to show, but fans just don’t get that we also need character development for the protagonists, especially Blitzø who certainly went through a lot.
In all fairness, said opera is the still the only well writen thing in the show Pretty sure the series would have already died out, if it focused on the original plot, based on how the episodes that try to carry it out, don't exactly do well
@@noobhabs5884 there’s an old saying, my friend “you either die a hero or see yourself live long enough to become the villain” by the way, calling said romance drama well written is EXTREMELY QUESTIONABLE
not really, Episode 2 had Stolas dealing with his daughter's fears and insecurities directly resulting from her father's affair. Episode 5 had Moxxie nearly strangled to death by Striker. Episode 6 had them go through a SEVERE drug trip that revealed a whole lot about who they are as people. And episode 7....do I really have to explain that one?
@@Randomyoutuber-4831 I agree, I didn’t mind the fact the characters had character development, I actually loved how they managed to balance it out with the comedy in the first season but now it mostly feels like Stolitz’s romcom (I don’t mind the Verosika, Fizz reunion or Blitz’s arc I’m just tired of the sappy Stolitz plot line)
@@aidaabdelfattah that’s because season 1 was largely about setting up the board as it were. Each episode served as a character introduction (save for episode 8 which was more of a victory lap) and set up future conflicts that would arise such as Blitzo’s deal, Octavia’s strife, Moxxie’s insecurity. Now that everything’s been largely established, the focus shifts to actually pushing forward the overarching plot which is and probably always has been about Stolitz. Ozzie’s being sort of the turning point for the series. I mean if you really look at season 1, only two episodes don’t address Stolitz in any way: CHERUB and Spring Broken. Every other episode either sets up future conflicts or sheds light on their relationship to each other. Those story beats only became more prominent in hindsight and I feel a lot of people bringing forth these arguments are blinded by nostalgia.
@@aidaabdelfattah oh also: that stuff about Striker taking two years to appear again? THAT WAS A SEVEN EPISODE GAP! You have to look at the narrative gaps, not real world time gaps!
to me, it's just taking too long for plots to be dealt with. I'm not a teenager anymore, so all this highschool drama that they call "slowburn romance" is tiring. They're not worth my emotions anymore.
Maybe if viv let Brandon do the fucking production like he did for season 1 we finish a season in a year again instead of waiting 4 to 5 years but we all know that's never gonna happen.
I don't agree with the viewership argument. Murder Family came out over three years ago while Apology has only been out a few weeks. Most of the views for the older episodes are likely from rewatches. Besides, every episode still surpasses the sub count, both of which have eight figures or digits. Not to mention, Helluva Boss is NOT family-friendly so it has limited reach.
@Aural4444 I can't remember exactly, but I have noticed that, in general, each episode will get millions of views in a matter of days. One other thing, Helluva Boss came out during the pandemic. During that time, people spent a lot more time online. I think now that people have begun going outside and back to work, they have less time to be online. So it is possible some people just have not gotten around to catching up on a show with such an irregular release schedule.
@@jacqueshardin4601 Personally, it hasn't given me the impression that it's going badly, especially now that HH has just come out and it has been a huge success. Youtooz recently made a contract with HH and HB, and everything Of course I have no way of knowing if the team doesn't make an official post about its financial situation, which I doubt they will do... I guess I'll just have to have faith that they do well.
No I literally thought about this too though! 😭 The newer episodes have still been getting around 20 million views each, which last I checked, is relatively standard for new episodes. Especially after the many wait times Helluva Boss took? It's natural that it might stagnate a little bit, but that doesn't mean they really decreased much imo.
@@Aural4444 I don't know about in the first month, but someone on the Helluva Boss subreddit actually made a list of all the views each episode had after one week, and they show that initial view count has stayed relatively consistent with each episode. (Can't really post the link with RUclips deleting my comment)
Helluva Boss’s views are staying remarkably strong. The view count for every tv show gets lower further into the series because people rewatch old episodes and drop off. Retaining 10m views for the 17th episode is not any indication of failure, most studios would kill for that level of retention.
@@SeinIshamiado It's like everyone expects it to be THE PERFECT SHOW, and if it doesn't meet their standards, it doesn't deserve to exist... It's tiring to look for neutral reviews or analysis videos without feeling like they're saying "I would have done it better than Viv."
@@SeinIshamiado Personally, the argument "I prefer to the original plot" bothers me a lot, because it is completely ridiculous. Viv already stated that when they made the pilot, they hadn´t yet decided on the plot or the ending of the show. The pilot was simply to introduce the main characters and their dynamics between them, the plot and ending were only decided and written after the pilot, and finished during the creation of episode 2. There was never an "original plot", and there was never a plan for "Evil Stolas", but still people comment as if Viv changed her mind at the last minute to please the shippers. Nope, Viv just loves writing romance like writing swear words comedy and black comedy, and that's it.
season 1 was more tightly written, with everything feeling like a average show. even with wacky episodes they still pulled in there main job, killing people. episode 1,3,4 all revolve around the job with the rest of the season still bringing up where they work and how it effects it. then in season 2, only 1 maybe 2 episodes revolve around the job with the rest just focusing on stolitz drama. with it them not feeling as tightly woven together.
Not to mention them randomly throwing in two fizz episodes in a row while barely having him in the show at all before. Don’t get me wrong I love fizz as much as the next guy but it didn’t feel earned (at least it wasn’t as bad as Lucifer ig). And what’s worse is i swear Ozzie saying he loved Fizz was a cliffhanger but there’s been no resolution on that! 😭 the sudden focus and then unfocus has confused me
@@ferntheinkling i mean thoose are the 2 most popular episodes of the season so they were doing something right. But they should have made them connect more with the overall story, all its done is just made blitz freinds with fizz and introduce mammon. This could have been done in one episode.
The Stoliz' seemingly never-ending focus was the main reason I lost all interest in the show. The first season was a perfect balance between the gang's chemistry, exploring different areas of Hell to further expand the world and its possibilities, and the expected character development that came from each episode. A perfect balance that only grew my interest in the show as time went on. Then Season 2 took its time to deviate from its original flow and increase its focus on Blizt and Stolas' relationship, absolutely nothing wrong with it. but as time went on and the patterns began appearing, it kinda lost its original appeal, and not because of the lack of focus on the main premise, but more as a result of how much time has been dedicated to them, and sometimes in a kinda inconsistent way. 5 out of 9 episodes have been all about or heavily about Stoliz, add 2 more if we count the ones focused on Blizt and Fizz which also have as a secondary focus said relationship. its overwhelming and it got boring very quickly.
Same, i used to really enjoy the show in season 1, especially epsidoes with striker. But now season 2... Idk, im getting sick if the drama between stolitz and im beginning to dislike stolas a lot more than i thought i would. I really miss seeing moxxie, millie, luna and Octavia in the show
I think Stolizt relationship is much easier to write than assassination missions, given how stupid human world is, there is no good reason for the IMP business to be fun to watch. I think the IMP business can go Death Note route when both the humans (detective, cops,...) and IMP try to outsmart each other, with each episode the target will get harder from random people to governments. I think CHERUBS can be the third party threat that actively expose the IMP identity to the humans.
@@kaylagomez-ne2xt yeah, I know but the show never once presented itself as being about relationships, especially not in the pilot. And they took way too long to bring back the secret agents imo because I was waiting ages for them to be included in the show again. And honestly, I still don't like stolas and I really don't care if you don't agree with that
If no one has mention this, I'll mention it now. One thing I noticed within Hazbin and Helluva is that there's 2 types of humor: serious and joking and Vivzie is abusing those uses. In Hazbin, Masquerade and Welcome to Heaven, there's a huge difference. Masquerade is noted as serious when it comes to SA and S-abuse between Val and Angel. However in Welcome to Heaven it's used as a "joke". Sir Pentious was trying to impress Cherri by saying he wants to have the big "S" with everybody in the room.{Note I didn't look into HB's humor, I'll edit it later} One thing that's been mentioning on my FYP is Stolas being a "hypocrite". When Stolas says he doesn't think any lower of him, aka Blitz: throughout he calls him "little imp", opposing to Blitz's ranking on the hell hierarchy, recent episode: as of typing this: "Apology Tour" mentioning a lot of things that imply this theory. In Western Energy, he almost got killed by Striker, blaming Blitz for not helping when his daughter needed her shot. When Stolas says "I don't like the way you're talking.", aka sweet seduction talk, he does the same mfing thing in the pilot episode and in loo-loo land, making EVERYONE around him uncomfortable. Lastly, Vivzie herself. It is not ok to BLAME the swears for the shows she watched to get inspiration. It's repetitive, no humor, no gist. South Park only swears to show aggravation or just to be humorous. While in Helluva and Hazbin, it's used overwhelmingly in general. Thank you for taking the time to read this.❣ {Note: I did look into 3 older episodes of Helluva and 3 newer episodes of Helluva, and those episodes: S1 E1-3 and S2 E7-9; as typing this; are considered uncomfortably sexual, forcing people to think its ok for people to be this abusive as Mammon, and how hypocritical a lot of the characters are. However, it's has its pros and cons. E7 of S2 had a mention of an ED when Mammon mentions to Fizzarolli that he needed to be skinnier. I get it, characters need to be different, but it is NOT ok to add more and more trauma like this in almost every newer episode, especially with hells hierarchy with a disabillity/disorder. Soon it will get old and will get more controversy. I tried to explain this as plainly as possible. If you guys have any questions, I will answer them.}
Vivzie feels like me when writing a character, to make them more interesting, you gotta add trauma. In reality, it made one of my friends greatly dislike my character who was initially a kind pacifistic engineer into a depressed guy who smokes his lungs out till they’re black. You gotta strike between having character trauma, while also making sure that the characters feel like they’re more than just their trauma. I see Vivzie running into the same wall that I do with characters I write for fun, trauma dumping. Seeing Stolitz, it felt so unhealthy cause of the power dynamic that Stolas has over Blitz. It’s why I always thought that the two would be healthier to just break things off but remain friends.
I absolutely understand. Adding more trauma to character creates more character development. But also adding more trauma with the trauma the character has can create a bad side of them or have a complicated story. The Stolitz relationship, obviously, got fans pissed. Of course, I’m not VivziePop and everything comes to a final selection by her and her team. People, and by “people” I mean a small amount, headcanon Blitz having autism. If one of the cases was with him having autism and Stolas didn’t know, then it would change the topic. If another was him having autism and Stolas knew, then that would make Stolas a “hypocrite”. If this applies to none of the scenarios I mentioned, which is the headcanon theory, then the theory with Stolas being a “hypocrite” somewhat stands. Obviously, I respect your opinion and you writing on the show, from what I’ve seen from the paragraph from you. At the end of the day, I will accept everyone’s opinion as one, unless the opinion doesn’t have anything to do with the topic or have no idea what the topic is. Thank you for reading🫶
Both of Vic’s shows just seem to deviate from their original premise. HB was an assassination business and has turned into a borderline soap-opera and HH was making a sinner’s hotel which transformed into a fight against Heaven and Hell, focusing more on the exterminations then actually reforming anyone.
I think this show did, will be genre shifts way to fast. Or maybe way to slow. That I remember that after Ozzie’s aired. I knew this show will shifted away from being a mostly episodic action-adventure black comedy with some to strong elements of drama and suspense. To semi-episodic or semi-serialized suspenseful romantic and dark dramedy with action-adventure and horror elements being there. Yet, writers (aka Vivizepop and Brandon Rogers included) unintentionally didn’t see that, when writing S2, apparently???
The way Vivz and Brandon write is just atrocious... They aren't used to making drama and more focused character episodes... Is just sex jokes, and crude jokes, etc. The proof of that is the first episode of Hazbin which was written mostly if not entirely by Vivz and to many was the worst episode of the series lol. Like, girl stop cramping all of your ideas together and telling stupid jokes nobody cares about to the point it just makes the characters completely ooc for the sake of the plot (like Striker and Blitz and Stolas relationship that honestly is such a distasteful shipp, it's bland and it doesn't work out at all... Blitz has more chemistry with Fizz, Verosika, Striker, literally anybody else more than Stolas but no... They are the end game??? I guess...), and focus more on the story, character arcs and the actual point of the show which was the IMP stuff....
I'm sorry but Brandon was the best writer and thing that happened to the show the first season without him is why the show has fallen into a vat of acid.
honestly i feel like having so much time in between episodes have made lots of fans give up. its too inconsistent to keep up with. by the time a new ep is out, you dont remember what happened in the previous ep.
This Like I understand the series is being given to us for free on RUclips, being made by her own studio off of Patreon and merch money for the most part But it's so inconsistent with releases and I mean the mid-season special for season 2 came out 8 months ago, and we've only had 2 episodes since then. I'm frustrated because I love the show so much, and I want them to make it as good as possible, but I can't keep my attention on it that long bruh 😩
The fact apology tour has every reason to show us the envy ring and there's 3 episodes left and viv STILL won't show us it after 5 years and expects us to wait 4 to 5 months to continue more episodes, everyone is fucking done with the year wait for one shitty Wattpad episode of uwu gay baby innocent stolas crying and wailing how mean blitzo is to him when blitz is literally just trying to keep his job source.
it's actually insane the next actual episode we're getting is all the way in October, followed by the other 2, all three being about 30 days/a month apart from each other. i mean yeah we're gonna get 3 Helluva Shorts in July, August and September that focus a bit on other characters instead of Blitz and Stolas (hopefully), but this is just diabolical, 3 months? seriously? for 3 whole months they'll release like what, three 5 minute shorts that are nothing compared to a whole episode itself? im sorry but i dont fw those massive time gaps in-between episodes. this is what i liked about Hazbin Hotel, the episodes came out so quickly, granted it was already pre-made and not IN the process of making.
@@vvamp1re for real that absolute bullshit from viv last year saying "2024 was the year of helluva" like we got 2 Wattpad fanfics that wipe thyre ass with the show and characters beyond repair and viv bragging how happy she is she fucked it all up on Instagram after apology tour and that disgusting pride post of absolute more fanfic yaoi shipping, she honest to God just pulled her fnaf security breach where all the hardcore fans are walking away because it's so fucking dead it's sickening.
The quality problems and the long gaps between releases feed into each other. With a more consistent release schedule, bad or mediocre episodes are more tolerable, at least to an extent. Long gaps between installments are frustrating, but easier to forgive when the quality is always excellent. When people feel that a new episode wasn't worth the wait, then that does make it difficult to maintain interest.
Never thought I'd see the day where two of the most hyperfixated Hellaverse creators would collab just to talk about the sister show's downfall. The irony is uncanny.
So new info came out from a recent Viv interview: the shifting focus to Stolitz’s relationship was primarily BRANDON’s idea, not Viv’s. She just decided she liked the concept and went along with it.
Viv dead ass fired Brandon from the writing team that made the show what it was and replaced him with a hack less talented than her the Adam yesman to take over nothing that comes out of her mouth regarding the behind the scenes shit holds any weight at all.
I see a lot of people saying that the reason Helluva Boss is so hated now is because IMP isn't the focus anymore and that Viv has been writing them. I don't think that's the actual problem here. Take a look at Mammon's episode in Season 2. That's one of the most well-liked episodes of Season 2 and was written by Vivziepop. Why? They cut at least 50% of the fluff, crude humor at bad times, and set up a plot that the audience could relate with. One of the main things I noticed was that they don't devote a long conversation to how Mammon acts, they show it through details and through the way he talks to Fizz "You QUIT, you miserable piece of shit?!" It really sets up Mammon as a shitty person, without room for arguement. Apology tour does the exact opposite, with multiple characters outright proclaiming Blizto is a shitty person, despite the fact that it is hypocritical, without any acknowledgement of that hypocrisy. It gets tiring after a while, especially with stuff like Stolitz randomly forced in. Case in point: Helluva Boss needs to actually convince us of the message their trying to portray, not jist say it 500 times and hope it sticks. Thats the problem.
I think I Can Proudly say that I’m done with this show. I came here to watch a bunch of assassins, not a a badly written romance story between a Imp and a Owl guy who have No Healthy Relationship.
The fact fact viv is SO obsessed with this damn owl that she put him as a cameo of the shit show that was apology tour in the weird al music video today is like.....this woman needs genuine psych ward levels of help, it's getting seriously disturbing.

Not to mention how inconsistent this show is and how hard it tries to be mature and fails at it.
@@clayjay2753 is it though? What was the joke in episode 7 of the first season :/? And sure almost every character has daddy issues xd but apart from really Octavia and Loona. blitz and stolas daddy issues hasn’t really effected the story so far, and blitz issues with his dad is more tied to his and fizz story more than anything 🤷♀️
Honestly Stolas was more interesting to me as a villain/antagonist and he still is. The pilot being none canon really upset me cause it’s pretty much the first episode of the show kinda. Anyway I’ve never been into romance as the main focus of shows personally, all the melodrama, misunderstandings and miscommunication really gets on my nerves after a while and it’s become predictable. Though I really don’t think Stolitz as a couple works anymore, it’s toxic and the show itself puts all the blame on Blitz while babying Stolas and it’s really made me dislike his character as a whole. I wouldn’t have minded the romance if it had been like a side thing while the assassination job was the main focus of the episodes though I did enjoy some of the newer episodes we got. Mainly the ones that didn’t focus on Stolas and Blitz at all XD
@@kaylagomez-ne2xt I don’t think that’s the issue. The problem is it’s the ONLY plot it cares about and the plot in question being really flawed because of stolas basically being like Valentino in the first season and all the sudden wanting us to sympathize with him
@@kaylagomez-ne2xt I don't think that's what people are complaining about. I think part of why it's so divisive is that some people feel that the relationship progresses too slowly. It seems to me like there's been more focus on Stolas and Blitzo being sad in private instead of actively working through their problems.
I guess your point on the whole assassination business being deviated from is completely valid, since we've only had 6 episodes revolving around that factor (Episode 1, 3, 4, 6, s2 3, s2 5), but we are getting more of that content in the next episode Ghost f*ckers. I just so happen to be invested in where the story is going, so I am very happy- may be an unpopular opinion, but I love this show
It won’t, in fact, i truly believe that ten years after the, viv will be remembered as one of the greats who made the entertainment industry great again, while all those who said she fell off or was never good will be forgotten.
I can not express how much I AGREE! OH MY GOD I bought the pilot, I loved THE PILOT, but I got soapy melodrama with plot ignoring it-self as well as original idea. And to be honest I would MUCH prefer Stolas being closer to the villainy. I would LOVE my boy being unapologetically creepy and/or menacing. Plus you could AS WELL shown him as a good father for Octavia regardless. He had so much potential and charisma, but all of it was just thrown into a dumpster fire for sake of idiocy. Plus - Non-missions episodes were fun concept, but then they became a majority. I'm very sorry, I'm just sad that show I followed and loved for soOOOOOO LONG is a big chonky nothing with rotted cherry on top in the end. Now excuse me, I'll go touch some grass and drink some tea, thank you (May Satan bless me with strong nervous system and enough time to learn how to write better stories dammit)

@Guywithaname199 It's hinting people are getting tired of it, if it's happening now when it was big and consistent then you do realize that this is not good for her right?
Okay that thumbnail is EXTREMELY misleading. If you check on the HB view counts with the wayback machine, comparing the numbers over a 24 hour period, you'll find that the newer episodes are actually performing BETTER than the old ones. For example: murder family garnered 1.8 million views in the first 24 hours. By contrast, apology tour got 6.5 million views! Meaning viewership has TRIPLED
Not really as the show goes on its getting like less views the first ep had like alot of views whereas the recent one had like 15 mil or something idk maybe because it's early
IMP isn't the focus of the show, its the platform that they launched from, its background noise. The true subject of the show are the characters, specifically Blitz. Everything else is built around Blitz's relationships. He goes on a mission to kill people in the human world, but the events turn on Blitz and Moxie, or Blitz and the phone call with Stolas. Stolas hires Blitz to guard him at lulu land, there are demons attacking him, but they are just fodder to be brushed aside for comedic effect. Every single episode is exploring some faucet of Blitz relationship, past or present. I'd argue that the WORST episodes were where they deviated from these things. Cherubs and Moxies camp episode were hands down the worst of them all, and they are the most invested in what IMP does for work.
Yeah, the focus of the show has always been relationships, especially Blitz relationships with the people in his life and the challenges he faces in them due to his trauma.
I do agree but the tone shifts are way too sudden at times or when things should be serious there is going to be a joke and it takes away from the sceanes
Maybe this ratings drop wouldn’t have happened if Helluva Boss stayed as an episodic series about Imps helping people deal with their unfinished business. Turning the show into an angsty Yaoi fanfic, to me, is what killed the series. Plus it doesn’t help that Viziepop stated that Helluva boss is a male focused show meaning that both Millie and Loona don’t have any character focused episode. And let’s not forget that mostly every character in that show always have daddy issues and bad relationships.
Yeah... Vivziepop really needs to really make another non-demon/devil cartoon if she wants to not end up like what happened to Pencilmation and MondoMedia. She tried with Zoophobia.
It's so funny how this is the 2nd spin off because she is that dog shit at writing and killed this one in record time. She is literally everything wrong with herself and refuses to ever acknowledge it which is why she will forever be a stained failure on animation
What they advertised with the Pilote, was a full on Adulte Cartoon centering around 4 characters with the Buiness being the stage. What we got is a expensivly animated average Yaoi Shipfic. I disliked the show from episode 1 onwards. You could already see the drastic shift, with Stolas being a dorky nerd loveinterrest instead of a aristocratic cold villian. Moxxy suddenly had a problem with killing kids. And teh second episode already hit a full direction change with being about Stolas and Octavia. Seriously, i can sum up my feelings about this whole show with: "My disappointement is immeasureable and my day is ruined."
I tried giving season 2 a chance, but it quickly appeared that it was nothing but a series of fanfictions put to screen rather than a consistent plot. I didn't even watch the latest 2 episodes, i stopped caring. The show is catering only to the more vocal fans, because it has become nothing but a medium to sell more merch. I mean the merch they churn out around this show is insane.
As someone who is a big fan of HB, your video has left me worried (T_T) I am going to continue supporting the show with the little money I have, but I hope it is enough for them to be able to make the third, fourth seasons, and give the ending they want with the quality it deserves. Personally, as a romance sucker, for me the romance has changed the show for the better, I rarely see the romance genre taken so seriously and well written in animated series (Especially with comedy and action mixed). I will pray that everything goes well for them, we have to support indie animation!
I think it's stupid to criticize so much the show because it's a RUclips fan series, why should vivs be compared to tv series when she has said it's just a fun proyect she wanted to make
Honestly, this video is really just exaggerating minor problems or saying that are problems where there are none. Like complaining that old Helluva Boss channels are no longer producing Helluvaverse, or saying that it's annoying that immediately after a video is uploaded there are reaction videos and people uploading the songs from the series, when that is just a symptom of a thing becoming popular (and honestly, that seems to be more of a personal preference thing than something objectively bad. The claim that each HB episode gains less views than the previous one is objectively false. Older videos have more time to accumulate more views, so they naturally have higher overall viewcounts. If you look into how many views each episode gets in a week, the results are a lot more consistent.
Vivienne inspired me to become an animator but I don't seem to connect with her work anymore. I don't like where the show is going after being teased about upcoming stolitz episodes that just ended up being disappointing. I even got a "just look my way" shirt when I didn't realize that the song was only for a music video and wouldn't actually be in an episode. I think investing in other forms of animation is a much better way of spending time/money because I don't know if Helluva is really going to go anywhere.
Honestly, the main thing I think that comes out it's really that, Helluva Boss, like any other show or piece of media, simply changes, like people do. Sure, you know that person from high school, you meet them again today, but you notice how they've changed, appearance, how they act, etc. They change for the better or for the worst. In my opinion, I think Helluva Boss is great! Much like Hazbin Hotel! I think it's ok to not like something anymore, accept that it won't be the same and move on to something else. On a side note, I do love that in today's internet days at least, people are starting to look at shows, games books and so much more, objectively, and accept that opinions are varied in their own right. Videos like this shows that you can look at something you like or even adore in some cases, criticize what's wrong about it, discuss it with people, and still have a fun time enjoying the thing you like! Either way, if anyone reads this, have a wonderful day and keep dreaming big!
@@Shrewzs Exactly! Even later in life people can change in that regard. That's why, even if some people may not agree, Helluva goes in a good direction, simply because this is what the creators saw fit
I just don't know how they're going to stretch out the Blitz x Stolis drama another two seasons because they can't resolve it until the end of the show. At this point the plot of the show is this one relationship so if they resolve it, what's the show even about anymore?
The pilot was the best episode imo. The fact that it's not even cannon anymore shows how far the the show has strayed from the original premise that made me fall in love with it the first place.
Tbf, the earlier episodes are going to have more views bc they’ve been out longer and people rewatch them. But i get what your saying, its not the mega hit like its used to (also since a lot of reaction channels have been watching each episode, they lose a lot of views that way) Edit: i just saw that the reaction channels thing was mentioned in the vid
You can cope as much as you want but it won't change the fact that two worst viewed episodes right now are the two most recent ones, I thought unhappy campers would keep the crown but apparently not. Nobody wants to rewatch the S2 because it's bland boring and forgettable
@@Foxy_editzs imagine how bad it will be when we finally get back to ghostfuckers after having the worst two episodes back to back that we waited 8' months for and viv really said "lol go f yourself you gotta wait until the end of the year of more episodes lmao 😂"
I would say somewhere around the following year, new episodes will have at least below a million. If the writing gets worse. The same goes for Hazbin Hotel.
Season 2 villains like crimson and mammon need to be introduced, because in season 1 there was a foreshadowing about them. Crimson is important to Moxxie's story, while Mammon is important to Fizz and Ozzie. But andrealphus really was out of nowhere. Season 1 didn't give any hint about the character, s2 ep1 stated his existence by Stella's words, but I think It would be better mention him in first season.
I think the reason why they couldn’t really foreshadow Mammon as a villain is because Fizz didn’t have a ton of screen time in season 1, and Mammon was the one creating problems for Fizz.
Blame viv she hired a hack worse than her after being Brandon after season one from the writing team because Brandon getting all the glory even though viv hired him made viv SEETHE
My problem is they want it to share the same universe with Hazbin yet the characters from both shows aren’t referenced ever more just put in as easter eggs for people who have watched both. It would also make more sense if they referenced eachother more
That's because Viv no longer personally owns the rights to Hazbin Hotel after she sold it to A24. That's why the two shows are not referencing each other. Most importantly, we're not going to have a crossover episode or movie either.
I really do want more IMP stuff, it was a good mix of the mission and drama in the beginning but now its just blitz and stolas being toxic for eachother lol
Stolas as villain would've been awesome and engaging to see alot of character development between blitz and his relationship, even can see the point if view from his daughter, his struggles with strict royal family being a goetia and his arranged wife I wish Stella wasn't boring one sided dumb villain that just wanna ruin Stolas life, instead trying to balance the family and royalty while enduring and gets angry her cheating husband. So many good moral lessons they can do in this show. Instead is just boring drama.. And toxic love
Honestly the melodrama doesn't make sense and feels very unrealistic. The earlier episodes were chaotic but followed a certain logic. Apology tour was the last straw for me. Their fights are well written but they just don't make sense in the wider context of the show. Blitz pushes people away but also desperately wants love. These are two traits that don't make sense and often clash with one another. I think it could work if we saw this with characters he actually cared about with Loona, Moxxie Millie but with Stolas it just doesn't work because in season 1 it doesn't seem like Blitz really likes him all that much. Only using him for the deal but doesn't want a real relationship which is fine. We also just ruined the whole time bomb about Blitz business being illegitment by having Stolas give him the crystal. Like it would have been so much more fun of Stolas tried to get the crystal but failed and had to confess to Blitz that way. Stolas is a really sweet guy Blitz just needs to see that but also fails to listen to Blitz, was really controlling, and isn't really a good person.
i never found the joke very funny, but i would have preferred Stolas' character to just be the perverted bird who appears in some episodes to say indecent things again
It’s the same angsty Yaoi s**t I’ve seen in Tokyo Ghoul, Naruto, Durarara, South Park, Transformers, Seraph of the End, Final Fantasy, Dragon Age and Fire Emblem.
3:17 this is not correct :/ those episodes only recently saw a rise in views and at the time of there release only had 10 mill to 20 mill views. this means nothing sense episode 7 from season one for the longest time sat below 20 mill and only recently hit 37 mill wayy after its release
In regards to the assassination episodes, the big problem I can see is that the plot removes the main cast from their regular surroundings, thus limiting what other characters they can face, Stolas and Verosika yes, but even they are limited by function and interests, and that puts a lot of pressure on what the target and what else IMP can face in the human world brings to the story, in short they have to be interesting/exciting for the viewers, but, given the assassination business, it becomes a villain-of-the-week situation. One way to fix it is to have the client make trouble, but that'd get old pretty fast. Another is to have IMP face off against the cherubs and agents one and two, but they're more joke opponents as it is, not the massive threats. And yet another issue is that the episodes becomes repetitive: Find target, get into trouble based on personal problems, kill target, aftermath, whereas the more drama riddled episodes are more unpredictable and thus exciting for viewers. But yes, it would be great if we could get a bit more work related episodes, take us away from the drama and back to the fun and awesome fights.
I don't have a problem with the show. I got into the show late December so I never had to wait long for episodes to drop. That means I also didn't come up with theories or headcanons between the long waits that skewed my perception of the show. On top of that I didn't bother watching the pilot because pilots are useless. But that also means the tragectory of the show wasn't influenced by it. Honestly, watching the show from start to finish, the plot is obviously Blitz' journey to loving himself, forgiving himself, and accepting love and friendship from others. That's why I'm always so baffled when people talk about how the show is about his murder business. It is literally just an aspect of his life that makes for an interesting backdrop to further the true plot which is Blitz' emotional journey.
People are saying that they _want_ the murder business to be the main focus, they aren't saying it is based on what the show focused on. You've got things backwards. It's not about theories and headcanons. You're confused by it _because_ you skipped the pilot and _because_ you didn't experience the wait between episodes. It's weird that you don't realize how that skewed your view of the show.
@Corrector1 lol. I ain't confused buddy. Maybe you're confused. I know what the show wants me to focus on and it's precisely because I don't have the baggage of the pilot. For a while you guys just had the pilot. How does that not build up your expectation of what the show should be about? I'm just looking at things as they are presented now. It's weird that everyone that just wants it to be about murdering humans disregards the whole first season and season finale. The show was never just about the IMP business. It is an important story element though that will probably get an exciting arc. I never had such little content between waits to see who the characters are and what their damage is. I get the whole picture immediately which is why I love all the characters. The characters are my favorite thing about the show. They are literally the heart and soul. Pilots are usually never aired. They are useless things that only serve as a pitch to show producers. The show almost always ends up different than the pitch. It's a privilege that you get to see the pilot. You sound like the trekkies that hated Deep Space 9 after it went from being episodic to being story driven with a focus on war. I see the same thing with Helluva Boss where it was a little more episodic but by season finale we could see that it was going to be more character driven. To each their own I suppose. I don't have anything against episodic cartoons but Helluva Boss isn't one of them and frankly, I love the direction it's going. Character pieces are always so much fun to talk about.
@@lauraportillo7575 " For a while you guys just had the pilot. How does that not build up your expectation of what the show should be about?" And you say you're confused about why people don't like that the show isn't more about the business. Yeah, pilots do usually give you the general premise even if the tone and characterization end up differently. "I'm just looking at things as they are presented now." And people aren't wrong for not liking how the show shifted focus. "It's weird that everyone that just wants it to be about murdering humans disregards the whole first season and season finale." It's not weird to have a preference for when the show focused on different things. Those are where the complaints come from--that the business should have gotten more emphasis, and it is a big focus out of three of the first four episodes. "It is an important story element though that will probably get an exciting arc. " "This could happen" is a poor argument. Baseless speculation isn't how you make a point. "Pilots are usually never aired. They are useless things that only serve as a pitch to show producers. The show almost always ends up different than the pitch. It's a privilege that you get to see the pilot. " And that isn't how this pilot worked. It wasn't pitched to the producers, it was released to the general audience. How things usually work isn't relevant in this case. "To each their own I suppose." That'd be more convincing if you didn't just spend several paragraphs acting like people are fools just because they have different preferences than you do.
@Corrector1 The pilot doesn't matter. You just can't seem to let go. Alright then. Different times, different structure. I agree that the way shows usually work is irrelevant when it comes to HB. I can see how audience feedback could influence HB. Just shows that the character driven elements were the most popular. The premise is Blitz, the life and struggles of an Imp. Only two episodes just focused on murdering humans: Murder Family and Cherubs. Two episodes had Blitz bodyguarding and the Verosika episode was more character focused with the murdering serving as a framing device. Episode 6 is special in that it's a character piece first and foremost with some murder (but not even as part of their job but just to survive). It sets up several story element that will become important later (but I guess you don't care really about my 'speculations'). Funny how you call me confused and a fool and then play the victim. My initial post was inoffensive. It was about the people who always thought the show was just about Murder Imps. Then you come in here saying 'nuh uh, people just wish the show focused more on murdering humans.' That wasn't what I was initially talking about but I guess I hit a nerve that you just had to respond. You can keep arguing with me but we'll be talking about two different things. Lucky for you I like arguing.
I would have to say it’s because the creator wanted to do gay shipping instead of sticking to the core concept of what the show was originally going to be witch would have worked out way better in my opinion
I see the same problem with Hazbin hotel, the pilot was what got people hooked yet the show barley showed any of the hotel doing what it’s supposed to do, redeem sinners. Instead of showing us angel dust redeeming himself we get time skips and it insinuated that he’s been working on himself at the hotel.
So basically, you want the original plot back. Can't say I blame you, but Ghostfuckers should be an episode themed around a mission. All we can do is hope it's good

The views of the newer episodes are the same view count that most helluva episodes get when they first come out. I don't make Helluva Boss content all the time, primarily when new episodes are airing cause if people are watching the show then they might want to watch videos related to it. Now the views are never anything godly, in fact this video by Iox had more views in 1 day then all the Helluva Boss videos I've released over the past month has released, but I did notice a lower amount of views then I was expecting. I just dislike this piss-ass romantic drama everywhere. Blitzo and Stolas, Fizzaroli and Asmodeus, Blitzo and Verosika, holy shit I could go on and on. If I wanted to watch romantic dramas I would watch some cheap telenovelas. Plots similar, sometimes even bettter.
This is more of a personal preference, but I actually like both the older and newer episodes. Yet again, I'm used to growing up on television series where the first couple of seasons for a show tends to surround around the initial pitch and show theme (pilot) with getting to know the characters at base value, then around season 3 and onwards, the characters become more fleshed out with a greater focus on developmental narrative, moving away from the initial premise to focus on character development & world building. It's also completely normal for the first season of any program to have the highest ratings, only to dwindle over time. Literally look up any program from the silver & golden age of TV, I believe it's no different from Helluva Boss as an online show. There are certainly many things I personally feel that could be changed slightly to make some of the sudden tones shifts more streamlined and not as jarring, as any piece of entertainment and artwork is not perfect, but I'm excited and look forward to the next episode!
the episodes focusing on exploring hell and the species who live there have to be one of my favorite's in the series. When I first started watching I expected to watch them meet different clients and foes, become closer as a team, and even explore the different characters. however it really just became a whole plot for the Stolitz ship, and in turn the episodes have just become dull and boring.
Considering the time gap between each episode, it's like they can never agree on what to do next, and instead of buckling down and figuring out thr narrative, they descide " oh we've done a couple of stolitz episodes in a row, just throw in fizz and give him some unknown trauma" and then they just did more stolitz afterward
For a show called "Helluva Boss", it barely has anything to do with Blitzø being a boss or having a company anymore

@@Randomyoutuber-4831 haha, good one, pal
Have sinners pay more money, so that way imp kills the target in a specific or ironic way (guy who loves swimming drowns)
Instead we have these messes.
I enjoyed that scene more than anything to do with the dumpster fire that is 'Stolitz'
Smiling Friends is an excellent example of how Helluva Boss could have stuck to its premise and still been good. But poorly written episodes like C.H.E.R.U.B and Unhappy Campers drag the I.M.P audience engagement down.
That episode with the possession demon might be a step in the right direction. I love them all so far, but that's just me.
Start a Pilot with a specific Idea (Murder for Hire) and then completely lose it in future episodes. But the same thing happened to Hazbin Hotel
Hazbin hotel desperately needed more episodes. Hopefully season 2 is 12 episodes at least. Ideally 24.
I mean we still have 2 more seasons so we'll wait and see if that happens
I wish Stoliz wasn't the focus. Not just because I hate the ship but at this point its taken over the whole plot.
Agreed. If it wasn't such a focus, we could have had more time to develop the rest of the existing cast.
Plus they literally keep doing it. They fix the problem and then it ends messily and starts over again every single time.
exactlyy. the episodes nowadays are just a pattern of stoliz being cute, blitz fucking up, and stolas forgiving him another time.. there's no depth to anything happening and its extremely repetitive

Me too
I really do wish Stolitz stayed as a villain, because it would've kept the original story, but also would've made interactions with Striker and other characters deferent. I would've been really cool to see. I'm not upset with what we got, but I do think the original take of Helluva Boss was much for fun and exciting.
I'm starting to wonder if all anyone care about in Helluva Boss is the Stolitz Drama and nothing else. What about the other characters?😮💨
@@aaazzz8324The show didn't become like this until episode 7. It's not even the same show we were advertised with the pilot and episode 1
Exactly that’s my feeling
Yeah. Like I really don't give a shit about the drama and romance. Honestly just wish they'd focus more on the comedy and action, but thats just me.
Yeah the show is at its peak when it can balance them.
@BottomlessWater season 1 Stolas and season 2 Stolas may as well be different characters, at this point, tbh
I think probably everyone just doesn't want to see Stoliz's drama anymore but we just want something like their work again

I agree, I didn’t mind the fact the characters had character development, I actually loved how they managed to balance it out with the comedy in the first season but now it mostly feels like Stolitz’s romcom (I don’t mind the Verosika, Fizz reunion or Blitz’s arc I’m just tired of the sappy Stolitz plot line)
Good point, I've thought about that too
Does anyone know how many views and likes the first episodes got in the first month?
@Aural4444 I can't remember exactly, but I have noticed that, in general, each episode will get millions of views in a matter of days. One other thing, Helluva Boss came out during the pandemic. During that time, people spent a lot more time online. I think now that people have begun going outside and back to work, they have less time to be online. So it is possible some people just have not gotten around to catching up on a show with such an irregular release schedule.

The newer episodes have still been getting around 20 million views each, which last I checked, is relatively standard for new episodes.
Helluva Boss’s views are staying remarkably strong. The view count for every tv show gets lower further into the series because people rewatch old episodes and drop off. Retaining 10m views for the 17th episode is not any indication of failure, most studios would kill for that level of retention.

If no one has mention this, I'll mention it now. One thing I noticed within Hazbin and Helluva is that there's 2 types of humor: serious and joking and Vivzie is abusing those uses. In Hazbin, Masquerade and Welcome to Heaven, there's a huge difference. Masquerade is noted as serious when it comes to SA and S-abuse between Val and Angel. However in Welcome to Heaven it's used as a "joke". Sir Pentious was trying to impress Cherri by saying he wants to have the big "S" with everybody in the room.{Note I didn't look into HB's humor, I'll edit it later} One thing that's been mentioning on my FYP is Stolas being a "hypocrite". When Stolas says he doesn't think any lower of him, aka Blitz: throughout he calls him "little imp", opposing to Blitz's ranking on the hell hierarchy, recent episode: as of typing this: "Apology Tour" mentioning a lot of things that imply this theory. In Western Energy, he almost got killed by Striker, blaming Blitz for not helping when his daughter needed her shot. When Stolas says "I don't like the way you're talking.", aka sweet seduction talk, he does the same mfing thing in the pilot episode and in loo-loo land, making EVERYONE around him uncomfortable. Lastly, Vivzie herself. It is not ok to BLAME the swears for the shows she watched to get inspiration. It's repetitive, no humor, no gist. South Park only swears to show aggravation or just to be humorous. While in Helluva and Hazbin, it's used overwhelmingly in general. Thank you for taking the time to read this.❣
{Note: I did look into 3 older episodes of Helluva and 3 newer episodes of Helluva, and those episodes: S1 E1-3 and S2 E7-9; as typing this; are considered uncomfortably sexual, forcing people to think its ok for people to be this abusive as Mammon, and how hypocritical a lot of the characters are. However, it's has its pros and cons. E7 of S2 had a mention of an ED when Mammon mentions to Fizzarolli that he needed to be skinnier. I get it, characters need to be different, but it is NOT ok to add more and more trauma like this in almost every newer episode, especially with hells hierarchy with a disabillity/disorder. Soon it will get old and will get more controversy. I tried to explain this as plainly as possible. If you guys have any questions, I will answer them.}
Vivzie feels like me when writing a character, to make them more interesting, you gotta add trauma.

The quality problems and the long gaps between releases feed into each other. With a more consistent release schedule, bad or mediocre episodes are more tolerable, at least to an extent. Long gaps between installments are frustrating, but easier to forgive when the quality is always excellent. Viv dead ass fired Brandon from the writing team that made the show what it was and replaced him with a hack less talented than her the Adam yesman to take over nothing that comes out of her mouth regarding the behind the scenes shit holds any weight at all.
@@deadspaceskull6905 she never fired Brandon lol.

@@mrslinkydragon9910 bold claim for a guy you've never actually met in person.
Well we already knew Blitz was a jerk so I don't see the problem with them stating it xD Otherwise, I agree with your points
Ngl at this point I’m just watching to see the conclusion
I think I Can Proudly say that I’m done with this show. I came here to watch a bunch of assassins, not a a badly written romance story between a Imp and a Owl guy who have No Healthy Relationship.
The fact fact viv is SO obsessed with this damn owl that she put him as a cameo of the shit show that was apology tour in the weird al music video today is like.....this woman needs genuine psych ward levels of help, it's getting seriously disturbing.

People told me blitz and stolas shouldn't solve their issues in one episode

I bought the pilot, I loved THE PILOT, but I got soapy melodrama with plot ignoring it-self as well as original idea. And to be honest I would MUCH prefer Stolas being closer to the villainy. I would LOVE my boy being unapologetically creepy and/or menacing. Plus you could AS WELL shown him as a good father for Octavia regardless.
I think there's a lot of Stollas-related episodes to show you Blitz trauma solving and change, although I like it

Everybody in the show: look were sorry we were mean or uncaring.
This is more and more like a romantic show about gay couple that both have daughters and a pushed aside job, imo they should focus also on the I.M.P.
As someone who is a big fan of HB, your video has left me worried (T_T)
I am going to continue supporting the show with the little money I have, but I hope it is enough for them to be able to make the third, fourth seasons, and give the ending they want with the quality it deserves.
Personally, as a romance sucker, for me the romance has changed the show for the better, I rarely see the romance genre taken so seriously and well written in animated series (Especially with comedy and action mixed).
I will pray that everything goes well for them, we have to support indie animation!
I 100% agree with your comment. I like the romance drama stuff, I like the story and the show, and I will be with it until it ends.
@@paleoberd In any case, I don't think they're doing badly considering that in the last video, the 10 M views have been achieved in 1 week
Either way, if anyone reads this, have a wonderful day and keep dreaming big!
oh for sure, people aging up and finding different interest happens with everyone, especially in the middle school to high school years.

But i get what your saying, its not the mega hit like its used to (also since a lot of reaction channels have been watching each episode, they lose a lot of views that way)
Edit: i just saw that the reaction channels thing was mentioned in the vid

Stolas as villain would've been awesome and engaging to see alot of character development between blitz and his relationship, even can see the point if view from his daughter, his struggles with strict royal family being a goetia and his arranged wife
I wish Stella wasn't boring one sided dumb villain that just wanna ruin Stolas life, instead trying to balance the family and royalty while enduring and gets angry her cheating husband.
So many good moral lessons they can do in this show. Instead is just boring drama.. And toxic love
Im sp happy to know that this topic and / or issue is finally getting talked about since it really irked me badly throughout helluva boss
Stolas is a really sweet guy Blitz just needs to see that but also fails to listen to Blitz, was really controlling, and isn't really a good person.
most people that arent into animation have seen the pilot JUST because it was big, anyone else who stayed felt like what was the actual fans

Honestly after all they shoud change name to "Yaoi boss". Since all this show is all about fanfiction type of story between Stolas and Blitz bruh
It's seriously disgusting and vivs never gonna drop her obsession with it. Might as well.

I liked the horny funny jokes in season 1 but season 2 is mostly about bad trauma from childhood or just Stolas and Blitzø's relationship drama
How does that not build up your expectation of what the show should be about?"
And you say you're confused about why people don't like that the show isn't more about the business. Yeah, pilots do usually give you the general premise even if the tone and characterization end up differently.
"I'm just looking at things as they are presented now."
And people aren't wrong for not liking how the show shifted focus.
"It's weird that everyone that just wants it to be about murdering humans disregards the whole first season and season finale."
It's not weird to have a preference for when the show focused on different things. Those are where the complaints come from--that the business should have gotten more emphasis, and it is a big focus out of three of the first four episodes.
"It is an important story element though that will probably get an exciting arc. "
"This could happen" is a poor argument. Baseless speculation isn't how you make a point.
"Pilots are usually never aired. They are useless things that only serve as a pitch to show producers. The show almost always ends up different than the pitch. It's a privilege that you get to see the pilot. "
And that isn't how this pilot worked. It wasn't pitched to the producers, it was released to the general audience. How things usually work isn't relevant in this case.
"To each their own I suppose."
That'd be more convincing if you didn't just spend several paragraphs acting like people are fools just because they have different preferences than you do.
Then you come in here saying 'nuh uh, people just wish the show focused more on murdering humans.'
That wasn't what I was initially talking about but I guess I hit a nerve that you just had to respond.
You can keep arguing with me but we'll be talking about two different things. Lucky for you I like arguing.
like after season 1 episode 6 the show’s completely deviated from helluva boss. now it’s blitzo and stolas’s love story, featuring other characters.

The new stuff is a bunch of melodrama and the old stuff was funny comedic jokes, and there moving into a drama romantic show and away from what is was originally based on funny jokes and killing.
They never intended to keep it that way. It was a setup to introduce the characters and how their actions caused the snowball effect they have now.
@@megankissinger8269 yeah agreed but now it's just melodrama which is good in small amounts but you should keep the main basis of funny jokes and killing and yes ad some romantic interests (melodrama) but don't make the show into a bunch of melodrama which they have done.
@@megankissinger8269 Well that's just insulting to the fans.

Well its kinda weird when your dark comedy about the shenanigans of demon assassins turns into some weird rom com between two aholes who don't have a lot of good chemistry-
@@ice_pls I mean it was hinted at going in that direction fairly early on. And other relationships are going to get focus. There's loads of them left.
There's no reason to assume it won't go up from here - this is just a rough patch that was coming for a while.
Whether or not they have chemistry is a matter of opinion - I think they would complement each other well once they get their shit together.
Damn but understandable
I thought something felt odd, but I was noticing it as a content creator who makes videos for multiple shows, Helluva Boss being one of them. Obviously not consistently making content on this subject is a sign of that as well. Mind you I never want to get involved in Helluva Boss discourse cause I almost never find real conversations that don't dissolve into 2 people shouting some variation of fuck you to each other. Videos like this are a breath of fresh air, as you are giving a view point and opening a conversation. So thank you and ayylmao for the video.
This is something every show eventually deals with even, when it’s a hit. Eventually they lose people interest.
If you don’t like the show don’t watch it, because season two will be based on stolitz, but there will be 2 more seasons on m and m aswell as loona and stolases wife’s backstory
I hope season 3 isn't going to be emotional
Ngl I came to helluva boss to see 3 people committing mass murder
the episodes focusing on exploring hell and the species who live there have to be one of my favorite's in the series.
