Vivienne really did her homework making this series. Coming back from mastermind, a lot of research on Christian demonology, and some extensive reading of mythology, I realize all of the demons are very accurately portrayed. Starting with Stolas: the 36th demon in the Ars Goetia, is often portrayed as an owl-like demon with long legs and sometimes more than two eyes. He's a teacher of astronomy and highly knowledgeable with herbs, plants, and precious stones. Even the symbol on his grimoire in this show matches the one recorded in demonology. His powers also line up with those of the mythological Stolas: telekinesis, shapeshifting, possession, flying, etc. His true demon form is a demonic black raven, which he turns into in S1E6 and S2E11. Imps, in European mythology, were small fairy-ish demons who went up to Earth and caused trouble through mischief. Just like what the IMP crew does. Belphegor is the demon most commonly associated with sloth in Abrahamic religions and is the embodiment of Sloth in this show. Asmodeus was one of the kings of demons in the Ars Goetia, and the demon most commonly associated with lust. Satan, Lucifer, and Beelzebub are all the same entity in real religion, but represent separate ones in this show. Mammon is a term referring to an obsession with earthly goods. Leviathan is an entity noted in several biblical books, like Psalms, Job, and Isaiah. The Goetic royalty also lines up pretty well too. Stolas and Vassago are both princes in the Ars Goetia; Stolas's father in HB, Paimon, is another Goetic king in mythology. Andrealphus is a Marquis. Succubi and incubi are female and male (respectively) demons who visit humans (usually in their dreams) to seduce them. This lines up well with the succubus characters in HB like Verosika (who was PERFECTLY cast). Hellhounds were a thing in several different mythologies, most notably Greek and Roman. Usually descried as large, flaming black supernatural dogs, they wreak havoc on humans they run into. Anyway, hope this was illuminating.
A couple years ago i started trying to write a book that uses a lot of these demons and the 7 Sins etc, inspired by the Dresden Files Then i finally started watching this and Hazbin this month and realized "Well im late to that idea." 😅 not that i was gonna finish that project anyway, most likely

Gotta love the foreshadowing at 3:45 LOL. It’s REALLY on-the-nose once you realize, but it’s so, SO very good. Honestly, I hope that it comes all the way true, Moxxie deserves that.
Moxxie did seem like the kind of guy who, under normal circumstances, wouldn’t be in hell murdering for clients, at least to me. Hell, I don’t think he swears once in the pilot.

The only voices that are changed are Stolas and Millie. Stolas because of things that happened with the VA, and Millie because viv didn’t want one person doing two voices, so.

Stolas is such a funny character. he just always has to call blitzo at the WORST time and then Blitzo blindly agrees to whatever Stolas wants even though wasn't listening. that's going to be funny to see in the next episodes how that plays out. i absolutely adored this episode and cannot wait to see what's going to happen next!
It's absolutely unreal that Viv and Brandon wrote most of Season 1 at Lancers Family Restaurant! The credits have Brandon Rogers' name above Vivienne Medrano for this episode, Spring Broken, and Cherub, so I am assuming he was the head writer for these episodes. The opening feels exactly like an animated Brandon Rogers skit! Also, for everyone still wondering to this day, Millie got knocked out because the bottle had chloroform in it, that's why the liquid on her face was that color and why she was so quickly knocked out. When this came out, 1 year after the Hazbin Hotel pilot, barely anyone had any idea where it was going, or how big it would become. Another great Halloween event from Vivziepop, and the start of something truly irreplaceable in the world of animation ❤️🔥 9.3/10
I Also love a certain joke If you look at the good moment at the beginning of the episode you Can read "how to Cope with trauma" on the board just before childrens see their teacher kill her cheating husband, injure the woman her husband cheated her on and committing suicide
She was a good lady, she killed her cheating husband and almost killed a murderous Satan spawn which isnt really super bad even if she didnt know that I think she was partly justified

The most impressive part about Blitzo is that he manages to find the "Deranged Client" button without even looking, he's got all the buttons memorized.
I really like that Blitzo has buttons for: -More coffee -soiling his pants -horny clients -deranged clients -clients giving birth -just ghosts -and Stolas, the Owl man who he exchanges sexual favors for use of his book.
- More Coffee = Who doesn't need more coffee? - Soiling his pants = Gotta stay clean. He's the boss after all. - Horny Clients = He's not into that kind of shit. Only goes with Stolas' usefulness. - Deranged Clients = Self-explained - Clients giving birth = Always result in a mess that has to be cleaned up. He also hates babies. - Just Ghosts = Ghost has no money. Kinda like penniless guys in hell. - Stolas = Whenever he need cash or a demonic item and has no money for it.

I know this is weird to say, but Blizto is a WAYYYY better boss than I originally thought he was going to be. Also, I love how he has a specific button for "Stolas" amongst the "More coffee", "Soiled my pants", "Horny Client" (Stolas?), "Deranged client", "Client giving birth" (has that happened before in the middle of one of his meetings?), and "Ghost". That's all quite impressive. This episode did not disappoint on everything that I loved about the pilot.

I know this is weird to say, but Blizto is a WAYYYY better boss than I originally thought he was going to be.
