@@Rockgem12 True. I'm not overly familiar with all the details of the false allegations drama, but I met Sean at a comic con last December and he was really nice.

TLDR; While Sean did engage in the conversations with a minor, it was under the pretense that they were an adult on very clearly adult websites that require you to be and say you are an adult. He is remorseful on the situation either way and does still apologize, but states that by choosing to act as if they were an adult was sort of asking that they be treated this way.
Yeah it sucks that they were uncomfortable, but they were the one who put themself in that situation in the first place. They can't blame Sean for their own poor choices. If they want someone to blame it should be their parents.
I really hate situations like this, because more often than not the adult has the blame put on them while the "victim" is coddled despite being the one literally faking their age. I just find it so wrong that people will say how the adult "should've known better" as if they have any way of knowing when a minor is faking their age, especially if the minor provides things like a fake ID which look convincing. I remember the story about the guy who met a girl and actually checked her ID to be safe, it said she was in her 20's and because he believed her (and she was in a bar manned by security) she hit on him and they ended up having _that_ kind of interaction. Only after did he find out she was something like 16, he was mortified and so remorseful yet he was jailed and the girls parents wanted to take him to court for s assault despite the fact she gave consent and was the one faking her age. Just.. Ugh. While I don't agree with the helicopter parent mentality, parents should at least have some level of care and restrictions over their kids, because this shit is not okay.
@@clockwork3494 this happened a little while ago with a RUclipsr I followed. I swear the internet needs to stop playing ping pong with false allegations and lies and cutting out details before I lose what braincells I have left This makes it so hard for actual abusers to be caught and actual victims to come forward because everyone becomes so fucking skeptical or numb to the topic Every time I hear about another bit of drama or allegations i just go "another one? Gee, what happened THIS time" at this point because of how often I hear about it
They don't care how they affect others, whether it be actual victims or the very people they falsely accuse. They only care about the attention and clout they receive from it. It doesn't matter if it's positive or negative; attention is still attention to them.
It’s just that people don’t care and still think the accuser is still the one to blame. Hey guys think about it and actually look instead of accusing, jeez no wonder why I left dramas now. It’s really pathetic, plus I really think the victim was in the wrong and I mean it even the parents to. Not only the victim lied about their age and legit almost made Sean a target of p word accusations, the parents didn’t even do nothing to help with their child even telling them that they were lying in this whole mess. I’m glad Sean actually took his time to process and look into this long long time. Reminder, always wait and be patient and ready to talk about it instead of accusing.
I can’t keep believing these ‘victims’ dawg, this whole thing is terrible. There’s too many people ‘exposing’ others and I just can’t take them seriously anymore and that’s sad
It's like a boy cried wolf situation, except it affects everyone else, not just them. I mean, when people get used to cloutchasers "exposing" people, then people will dismiss actual victims who have decided to speak out. It's a shame that we live in this kind of world
Over a decade ago? OVER A DECADE AGO!? Man it goes to show that the internet never forgets. (Btw I hope these allegations are false but man.. that was so long ago)
There'd be a lot fewer of these if there were consequences for making false accusations. You shouldn't be able to just attempt to ruin someone's livelihood because you feel like it and get away scot-free. "b-but I'm / was a minor" yeah okay you're still trying to ruin someone's life, welcome to being an adult where you fuck around and find out lol
I will never stop hating this. Sean is one of those people so nice that he must look like such an easy target. Too kind for his own good. Which makes these lies against him so sick and cruel. Sean did nothing wrong at all other than trust someone else to be decent too, and he was wrong. And so the take away is what? That Sean should have a darker view of other people and should investigate people before he talks to them in case they're actually liars? Absolutely not. Not a single aspect of this can be blamed on Sean. He did every single thing correctly. Casper is just a piece of trash. There is nothing you can do when dealing with liars, except stick to the truth until the evidence surfaces.
@@Kakashi20xd6I think he is innocent cause of those pics, plus if you really really think and actually look yeah it’s mostly the parents and the victim that was the problem instead of Sean, i actually looked into this and yeah clearly can tell the victim in this lied about their age and the parents never even did anything to see the situation happen, not only did it happen it made it feel like that Sean was in the wrong and that’s just foul for someone to prove he’s guilty just cause of someone lying about their age. It’s pathetic and not ok to do. Sean took his time and actually made an actual 100% response.
Don’t you ever see a single, massive similarity these so-called allegations from Twitter or elsewhere online bear in common? Not once have these “victims” report them to the police if it’s real serious, almost as if they knew these false allegations lie under “defamation” penalties.
Exactly. That is the first major red flag I detect when an accusation is made. They don't go to the police or law enforcement and just take it straight to Twitter or any other social media. That's a red flag that the accusation is not legit.
there have been cases of the police not doing anything or say to the victim that because it happened online not much if anything can be done, and there's also the fear factor, but every time I've seen any accusations online that have held weight, there's a legal paper trail (first case that comes to mind is the skydoesminecraft situation from his ex wife) or, if there isn't, the story is solid, concise, and commemorated (ImAlexx)
Sorry to burst that trust the cops crap but, at least where I'm from, a friend was graped and went to the police but because it was caused by a man the "fa**ot deserved it". A month later he took his own life. At the very least don't go to them in the south for things like this.
most of these "victims" are just idiots with a victim complex, they get off on all the sympathy people give victims, i was married to a women with a victim complex, and that ended in a messy divorce that took 4 years to finalise
Not really. Some people I know are adults type like you would expect a child to. There is no way to know someone's age by how they type, especially in the furry fandom. If their voice had been heard or their face had been seen, that might be a bit different, but in this case you literally don't know. @@cactusbuds2979
Why is it always grooming? Seriously, every time I make the mistake of looking into one of these controversies (I know they’ll just drive my faith in humanity lower, but sometimes the curiosity wins) it’s always someone going on about grooming…now I’m not saying the people making the accusations need to be more creative…I just don’t want these controversies to exist in the first place. Unless someone has completely irrefutable evidence, and the accused has shown no signs of changing, then the people making these accusations should just shut up and let people live their lives I’d say this was a damn near perfect response; explaining his perspective as well as all the facts he had, but this still should never have happened in the first place
It's the easiest claim to fake. Anybody being positive or polite or just silly and playful can be 'recontextualized' into claiming that they were 'attempting to manipulate' someone. It's like those armchair psychologist youtubers who prattle on about 'red flags' or signs of lying, but then you realize that basically everything they said is just a trait that is associated with autism or neurodivergence. "False positive? Oh, how do you know? You can't know their heart/how they are behind closed doors!"
Because victimhood is lucrative these days, either for clout or literal money. So if you were a minor and ever talked to an adult online, they’ll spin it into gr00ming because it’s the worst of online actions you can claim. Doesn’t matter if there was actual gr00ming behaviourb(love-bombing that leads to solicitation). It’s just “I was a minor and an adult talked to me, I was gr00med”. Now I will say, people like Sean are still stupid for ever talking about sex online with random people, where your only verification is a number that can easily be faked. It’s not gr00ming if you think (and they say/write) they’re of age, but it is negligent/naive to think there aren’t teens lying. One of the oldest internet jokes is a 13yo making an account (for some website) that they’re 100 years old. Of course they can easily say they’re if age when they’re not and don’t show any other proof that could be questioned (like a single image that’s reverse-searched from a Facebook account with a different name).
People tend to care more about Children, oh you're women abuser? Not interested. Oh you're men abuser? Not interested. Oh, you're a Groomer? How dare you.
@@mrshmuga9It's not stupid at all to talk about sex in a space specifically designated for that. It's not an adult's fault if a child intrudes on a space for adults and everyone assumes they must be an adult because that's who the space is for. You're basically just saying "It's your fault for someone else lying." What's stupid is being a child in that situation, and then coming back ten years later to accuse someone of being a groomer because they reasonably assumed they were talking to an adult, and they said some things your stupid child brain didn't like, because you were somewhere you weren't supposed to be.
It seems to be the norm when a famous person is not liked we just make up allegations against them and because they twist the “support all victims” for their own gain chances are they’ll be believed outright.
I don’t know much about the VA implicated in this case, so I would consider myself an unbiased party. Anyone who would falsely represent themselves as a legal adult on a website and engaged with others under that guise has no right to call someone else a groomer and spread statements to defame without consequences. I hate to be that guy, but this is just the ProJared thing all over again.
Jared's ex wife Heidi had a big part to play in it too. She got his DND show Dice, Camera, Action cancelled AND she stole at least his gold play button and a doll of his DND character that a co-star of said show made for him. Since then I've waited for both sides of the situation before jumping to conclusions. But the thing with Sean is they seem to pop back up every time something he's in gets popular. People were benching Diluc in Genshin over this just because he's voiced by Sean. If Hoyo really thought that there was something of substance to all these claims they would have fired him already like they did Elliot Gindi (the original voice of Tighnari) for being an ACTUAL predator
@@littleplague5988 there’s no accountability for accusers who just want their five minutes of fame at the cost of somebody else’s livelihood. Things will be completely different if they were taken to court found guilty and branded as a criminal with a tattoo that has to be publicly worn and shown and maintained for a period of time. You can hide a criminal record from the general public, but a mandated visual aid that highlights the crime would make people think twice about making frivolous accusations. True victims of these crimes should seek legal aid before doing anything else as I’m certain the lawyer would tell them not to go online and start spreading posts about their experiences, whether they are true or not could be considered defamation.

I agree with you there, Sean couldn't have handled the situation any better. This also proves that communication is a two way street and that sometimes the accuser is the one actually to blame for falsifying facts, which is a really hurtful practice to those who actually have been groomed etc. and are trying to prove their case against individuals who have actually done wrong. It's such a darn shame that some people like to lie about these sort of things for attention (which this whole thing likely was an attempt at getting some), not knowing that they are actually causing more harm then good.

Yep this is a clear exemple on how to respond to allegations against you,no big drama,no sad song, just the cold facts. Many and I mean MANY when someone is accused of stuff like this, they people tend to take side on the "victim" side even without the complete facts and other stuff.
I feel bad for Sean, but props to him for handling it like an absolute champion. I hate how comfortable people have gotten to the point they so casually throw out accusations of such terrible acts that could literally destroy someone's life, and thanks to many on the internet having adopted the whole "guilty until proven innocent" mentality it just makes situations like these heartbreaking when innocent people are attacked for something they never did, meanwhile real victims are ignored or go unheard in many cases. I swear people who accuse other's of things like this peaked in high school as the "popular kid bully" and have since refused to grow up past that point.
This is a problem with actual trials too, person can get thier life ruined over a lie (even if proven innocent) and the accuser gets 0 penalty for contempt of court
I don’t get why people are trying to ruin the reputation of a bunch of innocent animators and voice actors who just want to make some for the Internet to enjoy.

Don’t you ever see a single, massive similarity these so-called allegations from Twitter or elsewhere online bear in common? Not once have these “victims” report them to the police if it’s real serious, almost as if they knew these false allegations lie under “defamation” penalties.
I would argue if the alleged criminal is well known by many, first you go to the police and then you publicize the problem so people beware of them.

It honestly hurts as a victim of grooming to see ignorant kids turn it into a trend for their 20 seconds of fame.

Not really. Some people I know are adults type like you would expect a child to. There is no way to know someone's age by how they type, especially in the furry fandom. Unless someone has completely irrefutable evidence, and the accused has shown no signs of changing, then the people making these accusations should just shut up and let people live their lives
I’d say this was a damn near perfect response; explaining his perspective as well as all the facts he had, but this still should never have happened in the first place
Because grooming is what gets people talking, they know it's an accusation that's damaging
You're basically just saying "It's your fault for someone else lying."
What's stupid is being a child in that situation, and then coming back ten years later to accuse someone of being a groomer because they reasonably assumed they were talking to an adult, and they said some things your stupid child brain didn't like, because you were somewhere you weren't supposed to be.
It seems to be the norm when a famous person is not liked we just make up allegations against them and because they twist the “support all victims” for their own gain chances are they’ll be believed outright.

Since then I've waited for both sides of the situation before jumping to conclusions. But the thing with Sean is they seem to pop back up every time something he's in gets popular. People were benching Diluc in Genshin over this just because he's voiced by Sean.
