      It's weird, but it feels to me that minors are invading 18+ spaces not to see lewd stuff or participate, but to use it as ammo years later on down the line.
      Like every single time this happens, and said minors just so happen to reach a certain age where they come out and throw these allegations into the public eye, and more so for reasons to gain either money or a level of fame/following.
      It also fits in with how the more younger generations grow up to desire/seek fame/notoriety than simply being a normal person doing an average job.
      This will also mark a point in history where more and more minors are going to be ejected completely out of social spaces, simply because they cannot be trusted.

    TLDR; While Sean did engage in the conversations with a minor, it was under the pretense that they were an adult on very clearly adult websites that require you to be and say you are an adult. He is remorseful on the situation either way and does still apologize, but states that by choosing to act as if they were an adult was sort of asking that they be treated this way.

    • @happyfrigginrainbowcookies
      @happyfrigginrainbowcookies 27 дней назад +143

      Yeah it sucks that they were uncomfortable, but they were the one who put themself in that situation in the first place. They can't blame Sean for their own poor choices. If they want someone to blame it should be their parents.

    • @clockwork3494
      @clockwork3494 26 дней назад +102

      I really hate situations like this, because more often than not the adult has the blame put on them while the "victim" is coddled despite being the one literally faking their age.
      I just find it so wrong that people will say how the adult "should've known better" as if they have any way of knowing when a minor is faking their age, especially if the minor provides things like a fake ID which look convincing.
      I remember the story about the guy who met a girl and actually checked her ID to be safe, it said she was in her 20's and because he believed her (and she was in a bar manned by security) she hit on him and they ended up having _that_ kind of interaction.
      Only after did he find out she was something like 16, he was mortified and so remorseful yet he was jailed and the girls parents wanted to take him to court for s assault despite the fact she gave consent and was the one faking her age.
      Just.. Ugh.
      While I don't agree with the helicopter parent mentality, parents should at least have some level of care and restrictions over their kids, because this shit is not okay.

Since then I've waited for both sides of the situation before jumping to conclusions. But the thing with Sean is they seem to pop back up every time something he's in gets popular. People were benching Diluc in Genshin over this just because he's voiced by Sean. Seriously, every time I make the mistake of looking into one of these controversies (I know they’ll just drive my faith in humanity lower, but sometimes the curiosity wins) it’s always someone going on about grooming…now I’m not saying the people making the accusations need to be more creative…I just don’t want these controversies to exist in the first place. Unless someone has completely irrefutable evidence, and the accused has shown no signs of changing, then the people making these accusations should just shut up and let people live their lives

It's like those armchair psychologist youtubers who prattle on about 'red flags' or signs of lying, but then you realize that basically everything they said is just a trait that is associated with autism or neurodivergence. Because victimhood is lucrative these days, either for clout or literal money. So if you were a minor and ever talked to an adult online, they’ll spin it into gr00ming because it’s the worst of online actions you can claim. Doesn’t matter if there was actual gr00ming behaviourb(love-bombing that leads to solicitation). It’s just “I was a minor and an adult talked to me, I was gr00med”. Now I will say, people like Sean are still stupid for ever talking about sex online with random people, where your only verification is a number that can easily be faked. It’s not gr00ming if you think (and they say/write) they’re of age, but it is negligent/naive to think there aren’t teens lying. One of the oldest internet jokes is a 13yo making an account (for some website) that they’re 100 years old. Of course they can easily say they’re if age when they’re not and don’t show any other proof that could be questioned (like a single image that’s reverse-searched from a Facebook account with a different name).

    Pedophilia accusations seem to have become the most common kind of allegations thrown around on the internet now, and it's a damn shame with how many of them get proven to be false and even made up for clout, as it makes it harder to actually believe instances where they were true.

    This is a problem with actual trials too, person can get thier life ruined over a lie (even if proven innocent) and the accuser gets 0 penalty for contempt of court

    Gotta love these shows fostering audiences of the worst people imaginable with no condemnations from the show runners and actors.
    No accountability for the false accusers and no justice for those falsely accused.
    This fandom and many others are a plague and need to be cleansed of the toxic users left right and center.

    It’s kinda sad. This guy is especially hated in the Hoyoverse community. I used to defend GI but now the fandom is pure trash especially on Twitter….
    I love his role as Diluc…

    Sean handled this situation EXTREMELY well and formally. I say he's innocent, along with providing proper evidence himself and taking from other examples fixing any misunderstandings.

    At some point, these "children" (also known as legal criminals" are going to get a very sudden rude awakening when one day laws are made that makes these accusations online get thrown out the window if evidence of them saying they were over 18 beforehand is shown.
    It'd stop these so dead in their tracks it'd make DEI AAA look alive.
    Imagine their shock when they realise they have to suffer the consequences of their actions of ruining the lives of actual victims and innocent people for five seconds of fame and then being forgotten and ignored for the rest of their lives.

    People need to remember allegations mean NOTHING. It's innocent until proven guilty, not guilty until proven innocent.
