Theres just not really much point in maintaining the engine they built specifically for Halo Infinite just to make an open world action RPG shooter game that you can easily make in Unreal without any modifications. Thats just a waste of money. If you have experienced devs (which cost a lot of money) you want them doing useful things instead of reinventing the wheel.
Engines are just tools. Selaco was made on fucking GZDoom, Trepang2 was on unreal engine. Using a more documented game engine rather than trying to patch together an old custom mess is probably a good move. I'm more concerned about the game design, not scripting tools.
@@Mac0504 That's my biggest worry, the switch to UE means they're keeping the 6 month contractor ethic which just means more of the same. Like how dense are 343 to hire 6 month contractors to build your engine and have them leave with all that knowledge...

I’m sorry but after 12 years of constant lies, terrible products, the murder of it’s entire community and worst of all, it’s legacy; you’d have to be an absolute mark to get excited for anything Halo related from this company until it actually comes out and is good. A name change and nothing more than a UE4 tech demo after TWO YEARS (lmfao) on top of Pierre firing the devs who pushed for the engine change for the past 7 or so years (only to take credit for it now as his own idea) is enough to signify that this is still very much 343 Industries.
The biggest thing for me is if they change the original Bungie story in any majorly impactful way (ESPECIALLY humans being forerunners.). And I have no faith in them so I’m sure they will. This isn’t some new company, it’s just 343 with a change of clothes. They are gonna make “creative changes to appeal to a wider audience” take “creative liberties to make things more accessible to new comers”. They are gonna change things that were perfect just cause they felt like it. They are gonna leave a bunch of shit we beg for out because “it’s too hard”. There gonna slap price tags on everything that was once free because it’s Microsoft so why wouldn’t they. The vast amount of options for different gamers that Bungie sowed together flawlessly in their games are not going to be replicated. Halo is dead guys.
It's like that Spongebob episode where Krabs was ringing each day with a bell, sleep deprived and unaware of the depravity around him. Give it up for round 4 of waiting, yet again, to see how they ignore the entire internet's backlash on the next "Halo" game they make
I PRAY they knock it out the park, but this is also like the 4th time they've reversed course 😅 I'm routing for em albeit with a very high degree of skepticism. The world needs more Halo.
What we need is people from the Halo community coming together to keep the franchise alive and build a new studio. Just look at the Left 4 Dead community
The only thing the shift to UE has shown, is that the diversity hires need to lower the standard. Use easier more "mainstream" tools. Remakes, because they need to swing on the nuts of the OG gods. Everything they do is derivative.
There's nothing new here, they're just rebranding because of franchise damage. It's like how DEI is gonna be rebranded soon... they're just gonna give it a new name and keep going - they can't keep the term DEI (since it's almost become a slur now), but it isn't just going to go away.
I think i get what you're saying butbthe example I think is bad because the only people that use DEI are the anti "woke" chuds and the only reason they're using it is because people got tired of the word woke so the inmy people who will stop using DEI are those people when they over use it again
I mean, like 343 rebranding. You can call it whatever you want. If the game's bad, the game's bad. And customer sentiment and review scores will speak for themselves. Don't be surprised when your game is bad when you hire incompetent people.

The reality is we do t know at this point what the Halo Studios era is gonna be like. The ball is in their court and it’s now down to Pierre Hintze and his new team to deliver the goods.
Nope, we can track record of games made by this studio, what they Adress in presentation and predict what outcome will be. Hint - how ugly halo look like was never a problem.
@TheGrzB actually to many it was. Example: halo 4 was a great game both story wise and sandbox wise. Problem it had was classes, but if you played it on mcc without loadouts, it was such a great game. The armors were good, the visors were nice. And although spartan ops was repetitive, it was pretty fun and close to Firefight. What was halo 4's biggest complaints? The art style, music and loadouts. Loadouts is a reasonable excuse but no one even gave the art style nor music a chance before hopping aboard the hate bandwagon
I know a lot of people will say they want playable Elite, dual wielding, the Flood etc to return. But for me I want the Goblin to return from Halo 5. Imagine you were tracking down a high value target that was a Grunt, you arrive at the Banished base in the area he's supposed to be, then a cutscene plays of a Goblin marching out of the base with its big ass Needle cannon & then you know this isn't going to be a cake walk like you imagined.
The biggest worry of mine from the trailer by far is the fact that they ask a lot of big questions which are important like "why did we fail? What are we going to do better?" But don't offer any answers
Ok no joke, i started playing halo for the first time. Today i got to the part were that 343 thing teleports you away to help with the infestation. Took a brake, did some work, started watching you video and got spoiled. Impressive i didn't manage to get spoiled in the last 15 years about this but the timing is so ironic. Really ironic.
I've said for a long time it doesn't but if the graphics are as amazing as they are for UE5, then perhaps it actually is worth the effort now. As long as they don't butcher it like Halo ce remaster. And historically speaking, 343i has been butchering alot since then, so even a remake/remaster is a bit of a gamble.
Rebranding is deceptive. This IP needed to be taken away or the studio dissolved and begin another. The toxic positivity pushed by people like Act Ma'am will ensure 343/"Halo Studios" will never face accountability for their actions and the IP will continue the slowest, saddest death to befall an IP outside of Ubisoft.

they are hitting the same talking from what I remember of Infinite when they did interviews for that game, at this point with how bad and convoluted the past 2 mainline Halo games are, they should just straight up retcon some parts, the Endless was just a dumb addition which diminishes the threat of the flood while also having Cortana die at the beginning of 6 was so fucking stupid while also killing of Rookie and having Blue Team, Osiris and Arbiter fuck off and do shit in the books was stupid as well, they didn't just blunder the games but the very lore of the franchise too, it needs some heavy work for me to even care about the franchise again, and with how modern story telling is, I just don't see it happening
The Chief of Staff for this Halo Studio is a DEI hire who do not have any success working on or in the triple AAA gaming studios. The last amazing Halo we had was Halo: Reach (2010). The game is expected to get more woke since she is doing all the hiring. Why can't these gaming studios just stick to the philosophy that work. Hire people who love games, love working with gamers, who are non political. As for the question what made Halo successful. The answer is obvious Bungie aka Halo original creators. When the origins of an item loses meaning then said item becomes meaningless You can apply this to most things in this world.

Oh boy, we came back to the first stage of the halo cycle for the fourth time, i wonder how this is going to pan out
Well if we look at cod or madden.... weve got another like 7 iterations of the copeium cycle
Again guys. REBRAND! Not a new studio or anything. They are still the same group of people. Even with new leadership, do NOT trust anything they say or show until we see ACTUAL gameplay or story details of their projects.
I mean, it's not the same studio if the leadership and most of its employees are new.
They have to rebrand to be able to show and make change or else they will still receive the hate/image that 343 earned over the years. That’s business. Dropping the name is part of the change clearly.
@@larsen8059 But most of the employees aren't new lmao. They're all the same people from 343. Literally everyone in the "new dawn" trailer came from 343.
Make absolute sense what you say but not, it is not the same studio as before. This is just factually not true.
"same group of people"
"new leadership"
I can tell you work in a fast food restaurant for a living
Its just 343 rebrand, lets not kid ourselves. Won't change anything sadly.
All of the 343 leadership who were responsible for the mess in the last decade have been dropped and replaced
It's not a rebrand. It's practically a different studio with a new head and a whole bunch of new employees.
@@mynamedoesntfi--6161same studio
@@mynamedoesntfi--6161 nobody does any research though 😅 they just follow headlines and hate they’ve had built up for years
@@JoshJr98 A few returning employees, a bunch more new employees and a new studio head.
New dawn? How stupid do you have to be to fall for a classic bait and switch rebrand.
18:19 The one thing I want to see return is a different development studio. A engine change, logo, and a few meh screenshots is nothing when the same incompetence is behind the scenes.
The switch from a custom engine to Unreal makes me think the studio is run by bad suits and full of inexperienced devs. I hope I'm wrong
It’ll be easier for all those contracted devs to work on Unreal 🤣
All I want is a Halo that has the same feeling as the classic Halo, with open maps but not open world, with the feeling of mystery and with the content cut from the old Halos.
Classic halo is never coming back, as long as greed is involved that will never happen.
Respecting the worldbuilding and lore, valuing themes and being willing to try new things... like it's not crazy hard to just not fuxk around with a world that has been built up for 20 years. Just take characters and cultures seriously and exploring will be more fun already again. I hope they take a good look at Halo 3 and Reach.
The multi-player has to feel like halo 3 multi-player because Halo infinite multi-player was kind of hit or miss and the content was severely lacking
Stop foaming at the mouth for nostalgia. You will never get that feeling.
@@njux1871 They will never take a look at those classics. they would rather hold a pepper spray toward those to Games. we know it is only a rebrand, the people who hated halo is still working there, so that pipeline will continue down the road.
New show, same jokes. They have to prove they're capable of pulling this car out of the mud.
Lets look at the "New Studio's" talent:
Elizabeth - Microsoft 10 years, Halo 5 years.
John Junyszek - 343 9 years.
Melissa Boone - Microsoft 9 years.
Chris Matthews - 1 year, came from battlefield writing narratives.
Andrea Gausmann - 343 13 years.
Bryan Repka - 343 8 years.
Michael Fahrny - 343 8 years.
Casey Wu - 343 11 years.
“The new name suits you, but it cannot hide that mark.”
I am optimistic about a fresh start. To me it looks like it will be a brand new start hence Master Chiefs armor being brand new.
Too many women. That's already a problem. Old Bungie never had that many female employees. Halo and Star Wars are at where they are today because of woke ideology.
It's funny that they really think a rename and using a different engine will steer the ship in the right direction.
Having a new studio create a Halo game without worrying about a broken engine is definitely steering the ship in the right direction.
They also fired half of 343’s employees and all the previous management. I’d say that’s a good move.
@@mynamedoesntfi--6161 But if they have the same mentality to hire contract workers then they aren't going to change. This has been one of the primary reasons as to why Halo has development issues.

Holy shit how did modern “Halo Fans” miss this? 😅
New skin same corpse
I still have heavy doubts, even paramount's HALO series didn't even get it right
a studio is only as good as the developers they hire
It's like that Spongebob episode where Krabs was ringing each day with a bell, sleep deprived and unaware of the depravity around him. Give it up for round 4 of waiting, yet again, to see how they ignore the entire internet's backlash on the next "Halo" game they make
rebranding isn't going to magically make 343 not 343....so i'm not exactly excited about this.....
They can rebrand and change engines all they want if they continue to make the same dumb ass decisions then halo can't be saved
I PRAY they knock it out the park, but this is also like the 4th time they've reversed course 😅
I'm routing for em albeit with a very high degree of skepticism. The world needs more Halo.
What we need is people from the Halo community coming together to keep the franchise alive and build a new studio. Just look at the Left 4 Dead community
I'm cautiously optimistic, emphasis on the cautious part. I want to believe in them but I also don’t wanna get my hopes up just in case
The only thing the shift to UE has shown, is that the diversity hires need to lower the standard. Use easier more "mainstream" tools.
Remakes, because they need to swing on the nuts of the OG gods. Everything they do is derivative.
Halo made by HaLo... shouldve called themselves the Ark 😂
Halo on Unreal Engine.
“There are those who said this day would never come. What are they to say now?”
343 ruined a world worse than the Flood ever did
There's nothing new here, they're just rebranding because of franchise damage. It's like how DEI is gonna be rebranded soon... they're just gonna give it a new name and keep going - they can't keep the term DEI (since it's almost become a slur now), but it isn't just going to go away.
If you think halo is shitty because if dei then you’re an idiot. Halo was already taking a dump since 2012.
I think i get what you're saying butbthe example I think is bad because the only people that use DEI are the anti "woke" chuds and the only reason they're using it is because people got tired of the word woke so the inmy people who will stop using DEI are those people when they over use it again
Stop dragging fucking everything into the culture war
I mean, like 343 rebranding. You can call it whatever you want. If the game's bad, the game's bad. And customer sentiment and review scores will speak for themselves.

I’ve seen people saying this new era is gonna be great and I’ve seen people melting down saying it’s gonna be even worse.
A Halo 3 Anniversary is what we all need right now 😭😭
Nah, halo 3 holds up really well. Probably better than CE anniversary.
Is just a change of name, not the change of workers
Rebranding is deceptive. This IP needed to be taken away or the studio dissolved and begin another. The toxic positivity pushed by people like Act Ma'am will ensure 343/"Halo Studios" will never face accountability for their actions and the IP will continue the slowest, saddest death to befall an IP outside of Ubisoft.
Considering the new chief of staff, my key take away is DOUBT

they are hitting the same talking from what I remember of Infinite when they did interviews for that game, at this point with how bad and convoluted the past 2 mainline Halo games are, they should just straight up retcon some parts, the Endless was just a dumb addition which diminishes the threat of the flood while also having Cortana die at the beginning of 6 was so fucking stupid while also killing of Rookie and having Blue Team, Osiris and Arbiter fuck off and do shit in the books was stupid as well, they didn't just blunder the games but the very lore of the franchise too, it needs some heavy work for me to even care about the franchise again, and with how modern story telling is, I just don't see it happening
