The Valentino Drama is Pathetic: Harassment and Bullying

- Ever since the release of hazbin hotel initial teasers featuring valentino and angel dust, valentino had become a very divisive point of contention within the community. This seems pretty peculiar for a variety of reasons but its funny because for years people have liked and publicised their appreciation for villainous characters who are far worse than valentino. An easy example of this is joffrey from game of thrones

Hello there !
I'm the actual Val cosplayer in the video. I have to thank you for this 'cause it's essential that people understand that cosplayer are real people instead of the character they cosplayed.
People need to understand that FICTION is FICTION and not reality. That liking a character it's doesn't condone they're actions.
I've read a lot of comment here and I wanna thanks all of the people who take the time to post one or who send support.
I plan to make an other Valentino cosplay, but I would only wear it to conventions where I would be surrounded by a few more people.
Thanks for all, and i hope my story will help to raise alarm about the situation that Val's fans are experiencing and that people will perhaps think twice in the future before do anything like what I experiment
Take care ❤
Hey the big man himself 😂
hope you're doing ok man don't listen to the people who harass you like what you want.
I hope you’re also doing well you don’t deserve to be harassed like that
Honestly, I think you are attention seeking and making a big deal over banter at a convention. No, what you described at the convention didn't sound like harrassment. Your generation is way too sensitive and drama hungry.
Gros soutien, je suis ta chaîne depuis longtemps et j’ai été dévastée quand j’ai vu ce que tu as subis. J’espère que tout ira mieux pour toi et que ce genre d’expérience ne se reproduira plus
People need to understand reality over fiction. You shouldn't harass or shame people for cosplaying villainous characters, that just makes you look like a asshole. For me, I love Valentino cause of his design alone, that doesn't mean I agree with his actions, I still think he's an awful guy.
Yeah, or Darth Vader who’s literally a space dictator. Who doesn’t love Darth Vader?
@@gatchywatchyentertainmentb2090 Exactly!
@@gatchywatchyentertainmentb2090 As someone who has yet to see Star Wars, seeing him described as a "Space dictator" made me chuckle
Fr, there is a difference between cosplaying an evil fictional characters and cosplaying as a real terrible person. If someone that cosplays as an evil character, that’s fine, but if someone cosplays as a REAL TERRIBLE EVENT that has happened in real life, then that’s bad. People don’t know the difference between fiction and nonfiction.
@@Cordray. I can agree with that statement.
The cosplayers aren’t condoning his awful actions, plus people cosplay as Al or Adam
Yet I still see kids dress up as dark Vader and other villains who do much worse :/
@@SkittlezSomethingIDKLet’s not forget about kids cosplaying as horror movie villains
actually can we debate over adam's morality? i think he is a better person then every other main character (only moral wise, not writing wise.)
I'm not saying that the people who are acting this way are correct, but I think it is at least explainable but not excusable.
The thing is is that Al and Adam are both kind of cartoonishly evil. They are people you would probably never meet in real life. Al is a serial killer from New Orleans and as a radio demon he has possibly done something to other overlords and have broadcasted their screams across the radio.
I do not know anyone who has actually done that. I don't know anyone who knows anyone who has ever done that. No one does that.
Adam is very similar.
Valentino feels different because a lot of people know that person. According to data, about 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men I've been in domestic abuse relationships. This means that in a room of five random people, the odds of their being at least one person who has experienced that is incredibly high.
People probably see their actions and what they are doing as a way to defend people who they see as vulnerable from people who really do exist as evil people. These people are not named, and they are numerous, but they are real and just because the character that they are hating on doesn't exist, that doesn't mean that the evil doesn't either.
Again, I'm not saying that that makes it justified because it is still fiction and cause playing as a character doesn't mean you condone that behavior.
But there is a reason why some characters get more hate than others.
Al would not be able to receive the same amount of hate because again he is a serial killer from New Orleans from the 1930s. I don't know anyone in the world who is like that at all. I don't even know someone who knows someone who is like that.
And when people cosplay darth sidious or bill cypher? Who cares if the character evil, when a character is well written, interesting and has a cool design idc what the character did because a cosplay isn’t a reincarnation
can't even cosplay as villains now? people are wild
The hundreds of Alastor Cosplayers would prove the wrong.. but it matters what *team* the villain is on or maybe how bad they have acted in the show,(--according to those people!) But you should never harass people just for a cosplay, even if they are one in very bad taste.
Tbf only one person was actually creepy to the cosplayer... the cosplayer is k in nda being a self victimizing baby. It's normal for people to make references and banter about what characters are known for with cosplayers. The girls who said the 'leave angel alone' line sound like they were obviously not serious given everything else. Very attention seeking and leads me to doubt the fake gun story a bit.
@@ANPC-pi9vu Ah yes, a clear victim of harassment and attempted intimidation is a "self victimizing baby". Have you maybe considered that you're just victim blaming?
@@ANPC-pi9vu are you braindead?
@@ANPC-pi9vu Dude, you're straight up victim blaming

That being said the difference is honestly just age groups. There is much MUCH younger audience in the Hazbin Hotel age group than with comics. That's not even getting into the social media aspect of people acting like if you like a character you condone their actions was very much so a recent internet based mindset that previously had only existed based on who you met vs now such people have whole ways they can gather.
The Joker has also SA'ed a woman in the comics and made her husband watch him do it.
At the end of the day there is just more things at play here than just both characters are irredeemably sh*t heads. Age group, mindsets and ideals about media, media literacy, and more are all at play when it comes to why people treat each character differently.
Let's be real the only reason why this is a controversy is just the fact that Valentino is one of Vivziepop's characters, if he were a villain in any other franchise no one would care.
Bingo. Right on the money. People have been cosplaying as villains/problematic characters for such a long time now and it’s the norm. You can easily like a villain or problematic character as long as you don’t justify their actions that’s all that should matter really
Yup.
Heh? What kind of rep does Vivsie have if that's the case?
@@emo1ife Can you give me a example of another rapist character that no one have a problem cosplaying?
@@malakitaub9024 Exactly. I think it is something else. Something darker that the show would not want to delve deeper into for what makes Hell...well, hell.
Ugh, I hate those people. Listen, Valentino is horrible person, but to be fair, he is a good, or should I say great villain. I find cringy then some people say that they want to get rid of him faster, saying that he's the worst character, why he exist, why he in the episode, they don't wanna hear him talking, boohoo his voice, (you're just harrasing actor, who's awesome dude). As a person, Valentino is one of the worst, as a character, he is great. He is well written villain, because how he's realistic, compelling, threatening and affective, he makes angel dust's character and his story interesting, he can make you fear and gave chills, and how many layers he has, based how he acts in different situations among different people. And I enjoy joel perez performance, Valentino villainous voice sounds so original and new to me. To be fair, we don't know his backstory, why is he that evil, but if he's in hell among no innocent sinners, he can do whatever he wants for his own desires. I don't support his actions.
These people forget Hazbin is exploring characters like him in Pride, expecting him to just not exist is pretty much proving they don't understand the show.
@artistanthony1007 here's a funny thing. Do you know that invader zim is worse than valentino or adam. He tried to genocide humanity, just because he wants, even Tallests points that he should conguer earth and enslave humans, not destroy, but he says "yeah, but I like destroying things". He's stealed children's organs without facing consequences of his horrible actions. And also the way he abuses poor dib and his childhood with time travel and piggies, it's worse than valentino sexualy abuses no innocent, grown sinners.
He does his job at being a good villain, he makes everyone hate him which is exactly the point.
You're right on the money and as a villain. He's meant to challenge the hero's ideology. In this case, it's Charlie's belief that all sinners can be redeemed regardless their past and present.
I get that his actions can be triggering for people who've been in abusive situations, but that's no reason to take it out on others just having fun.
Absolutely this. It's the same reason I love Homalander. I love to hate him. His actor portrays him so damn well to the point that I have to respect him even while he makes my blood boil. He's twisted and downright terrible, but that's what makes him such a compelling character. People think a character had to be likable to have fans when that isn't nor has ever been the case.
Val hurting angel: people:😡🤬
Al hurting husk: people: ☺️😁
Edit: I know people will be mad but Valentino is my favourite character DESIGN WISE but I despise what he does to angel

Both villains are very well written
@@Misdrex fr but I think alastor is a bit overrated
Angel dust getting slapped around- Everyone: >:(
Pentious getting r*aped by dozens of people: xD
It's because Angel is quirky and gay with a sad back story but Alastor is a show favourite who's sassy. Both are as bad.
Honestly. Even though Val is an abuser, Alastor is a cannibalistic serial killer. People have to remember that Alastor has taken the lives of people - which he likes partaking in. Val and Alastor are both as bad as each other but in different ways.
Alastor is a mass torturer who traps people in radios screaming for eternity
He is far more evil than Val or even Adam yet I don't see as much people getting harassed when they cosplay as him
Not to mention it’s hypocritical when people love Vox or Velvette yet hate Val because he’s a shitty person. Yes, he is a piece of shit, but so are Vox and Velvette. Vox encourages Valentino’s actions, and Velvette helps produce Val’s “love potion”
The people that are harassing val are actually huskerdust shippers. I actually don't get why people love to ship alastor and angel. 😂I mean we all know what is like...
Yeah it's dumm i don't see the same hate for Vox and Velvet and they are helping him doing the stuff he does (Vox even is in a relationship knowing what he does)
Velvet promotes his love potions (which are spike drugs in hell) and work with him for her fashion shows
While Vox gives him all the electronics he could want so he can spy on his workers and makes his movies
Thing is he’s never done it to a character. People care about Angel Dust. Nobody cares about the nameless people Al has tortured.
Maybe because Alastor is more charming than creepy and controlling. Valentino is abusive, too, but he doesn’t bother hiding it
We’ve gotta appreciate Mr. Pérez for being able to put up with all the harassment, I love him so much and Valentino is one of my favorite characters based off of character depth and looks. I don’t get why other people can’t separate the fact that Valentino is in fact, not a real person.
Maybe because people are just THAT delusional and just wanna hate someone just because. That's my theory.
He’s so nice, me and my friends said hi to him at galaxy con, one of my friend got a picture with him, and he was so friendly
My classmate name is Valentino 💀
I assume that's just because he looks real, you probably meet some Valentinos in your life sometime, but that is not an excuse to harass those who like him or Joel Perez for just doing his job, everyone's entitled to their own taste

I know there's a Spanish cosplayer who shared her experience she cosplayed Blitz while her husband cosplayed Stolas in her experience she mentions that two fans (helluva boss fans) forcefully tried to pull both of the couples hands, she even mentions that she and her husband yelled at them to stop and these two fans ended up letting them go hurting the female cosplayer's wrist in the process and her husband protected her from the two fans when they encountered them again, she says in her video that people need to know that people who cosplay any character from any show are not the same in real life meaning cosplayers are people and the personality and actions the characters portray are not what the cosplayers act in real life.

Thankfully I don't get hated as much for it but the only reason for that is cuz one of my friend likes a worse character and always brings them up or if someone tries to say smth about me liking val im just like "dude our friend literally likes (insert character name) yet you aren't whining about it" and im glad my friends are supportive and respectful. sadly most hazbin fans aren't
I kin Tsukasa and Kou from Tbhk, and I get called an asshole, people forget characters are EXAGGERATED for MARKETING VALUE, if they’re a well written character, then there will be relatable aspects of this character
Ok, I just wanna say that I like Valentino for his design and how funny he is, and I do understand why fans hate him, but pointing a gun at a *cosplayer* is just deranged. People need to learn that Joel is just doing his job voicing Val and he’s doing a great job doing so and they really need to seperate fact from fiction.
I can agree, I also like Valentino because of his design as well. But it just goes too far when you aim a gun (a Prop Gun specifically) at a Person who cosplays the person you hate, that's a straight-up dick move.
His VA is amazing! Just because people hate a character doesn’t mean they should hate the VA it’s so dumb.
@@Comet346 exactly, it doesn't make sense at all.
Yeah, if joel wouldn't have voiced valentino someone else would
I went to a con as Husk a few weeks ago, I saw tons of Hazbin cosplayers, it was great! I saw a Valentino cosplayer and saw a few people telling them "leave Angel alone" or something like that. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to get involved but the people apparently got kicked out because they went around the con telling different Hazbin cosplayers things like "Angel, when is the wedding with Husk?" Same way around with Husk cosplayers, my friend said they saw them follow 3 different cosplayers around the con, they would ask for a picture then ask the question or say something just weird or random. I stayed away from them though because me and my friend saw what they were doing. (Btw, I overheard them asking one of the Angel cosplayers this. Idk if it was the same question but you get it) My friend stayed longer at the con then me so that's how I got this information, anywho- Valentino isn't a real person in the real world, so don't harasses cosplayers that cosplay as him, or any other cosplayers for that matter, I've had a personal experience or two with people like that, and it's awkward and not normally a fun conversation to be in.
Bro these are huskerdust fandoms,, some of them are really mean...
i was cosplaying as angel at a con recently and this group of people at the con kept asking for me to pose with a husk cosplayer who i didnt even know. i'm sure they (the husk cosplayer) are a great person but it's so weird to ask us to pose with each other in romantic ways when we're literally strangers. needless to say we were both weirded out and avoided those people for the rest of the con... also it's so confusing to see all the hate for valentino fans. valentino is just a fictional character, and i say that as someone with similar trauma as angel. i would never bring harm to a real person over hating a fictional villain. that's so gross.
@@kurokura8379 that's weird as hell- I don't even know how some people have the guts to ask for pictures like that with random cosplayers. Sorry you went through that, that sucks. And yeah, I totally agree with Val and the fans thing, because Alastor is also an overlord who is also abusive as well, just in a different way. So it's definitely weird to see one character and the fans of the character get so much hate when there is literally one just like them but doesn't physically abuse the soul(s) he owns. (As far as I'm concerned) Mines him chaining Husk to the ground but idk if I'd count that as physical abuse or not, that's not for me to decide considering I've never experienced anything like it and don't want to just assume it is or isn't.
i really hate that kind of fans, my sister is a cosplayer and I'm scared shirtless once i hear her tell a story at cons she has been to.
And mond you, cons are for fans so haters doesn't have anything to do with this at all
That's just weird, some people don't know how to cross the line between fiction and reality
I feel awful for the cosplayer honestly, I would be terrified if someone pointed a gun, fake or not at me unprompted at a convention over what I cosplayed. It doesn't matter what your opinion on the character is, Valentino isn't real while the person cosplaying him is, and even if you hate the character you're inflicting real damage on a real person, you're not doing anything to the character you hate so much.
Exactly! I know for a fact I'd be terrified as hell if someone did that to me, I don't even think anyone could consider it a joke if the person you're pointing the fake gun at doesn't even know you, especially not if they pull the trigger at you. Even if it's fake or not, that's still a threat to another person's safety. Totally agree with the Valentino thing btw, hopefully one day people get a grip and understand this.
@@Ray_TheRatt i mean I would probobly just wink back at that person but still there is no point to be condesending and rude towards a random person on the street or anywhere else.

Hell, you don’t see people lose their shit over those who cosplay as The Joker, he’s done even worse shit than Val, Joker is just a terrorist.
I'm not sure if I should consider it hypocritical or not with how people can not mind you cosplaying as a fictional villain like Darth Vader, or hell William Afton, but then point a fake gun at you for dressing up as one of Vivzie's characters.
For real though!!
Don’t forget hisoka, mei mei and so many more rapists, or people who are romantically attracted to their family members

And people can’t really understand that just because someone likes a villain that doesn’t mean that person supports their actions. And they keep on having those same arguments “ Valentino representing what happens to people in real life” yes and so are the other villains in media don’t act like that what Valentino does is worse than what Darth Vader because killing people in a mass and abusing and 🍇ping people are both terrible actions. I wouldn’t say “just assaults”. Being assaulted and manipulated is a traumatic event that sticks with you for life in many cases. Though I agree it’s funny how people simp for the aro ace villain that has ended and/or ruined countless lives, but despise a villain that traumatizes and victimizes vulnerable people. Both are bad, why is one worth threatening people over?
@@shalomproduction6367 someone being a bad person or not doesn’t excuse abuse being done to them, just a heads up
You know the sad thing is it feels like people hate Val more than they love Angel
That’s so sad because Angel is my comfort character
I have planned to cosplay Val and I know that if I even remotely talk about it, some people will threaten me or being aggressive towards me
that's sad that cosplayers are now being threatened over a character, cosplaying is meant to be fun and enjoyed, fans shouldn't threaten other fans
I am Currently working on Vox & Lucifer Cosplays, but Val is one of my next plans. I keep mentally bouncing between whether or not I want to cosplay him (I’m scared of what will happen if I go to a con cosplaying him). It’s really upsetting sometimes
I hope you get to! Some people suck
What confuses me is that people cosplayed Ganondorf and any heinous villain for years, and yet when it’s cosplaying Val, it’s suddenly a problem. Do people not realize that the actor is not the character and the cosplayer is not the character. These are the same people who throw vile hatred to people who watch movie involving a problematic actor like a moral whiteknight. This is why I can’t stand the concept of morality in society sometimes. People use morality and mental gymnastics of morality as a TOOL to look like good guys, as if nuance didn’t exist.
I don’t think people understand that some villains are supposed to be deplorable and hateable.
One thing that happened to my friend at a cosplay panel was their booth trying attacked by people who hated TADC. They specifically harassed the person cosplaying Jax (who is my friend as well) and it was just a terrible experience. DONT HARASS THE COSPLAYERS FOR SOMEONE THEY COSPLAY JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT LIKE THEM?? THEYRE SEPARATE PEOPLE!!
Wow, unacceptable. See, I really like Jax. He's really cool. I can't believe people started getting mad about him after episode 2 of TADC was released. Gooseworx even said something about Jax getting worse as the show goes on, but did people listen? NO THE FUCK THEY DIDN'T!
@@CattoDerek EXACTLY. I may not like Jax as much as anyone else, but I still think it's absurd that people stayed attacking Gooseworx because of Jax's actions as a FICTIONAL CHARACTER. he isn't real. People Don't hate on a real people because you dislike something fictional. Reality and fiction are separate worlds. People really need to realize that.
Seriously the cartoon is based in hell every crime and atrocity is made there do they expect a happy go lucky experience
Im a huge valentino fan and even before the show, I was literally being called a R@pe apologist and supporter because I liked val and was pretty vocal in stating that just because you like val, doesnt mean you are a bad person.
theres multiple reasons to love a villian. even valentino. people who literally harass and threaten people just because of a character they like are sad and pathetic and really need to get a grip on reality :/
Call them murder and cannibal supporters and enablers if they like Alastor.
In fact you could also call them slave apologists for liking Alastor since Husk is practically his slave.
It’s really ironic how the Valentino haters are the toxic ones hell I am one and I understand that people are just gonna like villains.
Ironically these people act more like Valentino than these cosplayers that just wanted to have fun.
I can only imagine how much hatred the VA for Valentino gets thrown his way
just because you dress up as one, you don't need to be treated as a villain- (now i'm scared-)
This is terrible.
I do theater, and once I played an antagonist for one of my shows.
And your quote: "People dont know fact from fiction" is so real
Like- just because I played Heather Duke in a literal HIGH SCHOOL PLAY doesnt mean I'm going to actually do what she's done.
Like, just like my experience, it's not like this person acts like Valentino in any way shape or form.
Jeez.
Jesus Christ y'all Val haters really need to tone it down
I agree as a Val hater at least I understand separating fiction from reality
It's as i always say...people don't mind murder, cannibalism or torture. But the moment it hits rape territory, suddenly it's no longer okay in their eyes.
Like, either you allow all, or allow none. You can't single out one thing and start harassing people who like characters that do that one thing. If you hate Val for being a rapist, fine. But you should also hate Alastor for his torture, Rosie for her cannibalism and Nifty for her murder.
Fr, like all of these things that you just listed are equally bad, slaveowning is bad, mass murder, and cannibalism is incredibly bad, fuck it child abduction is incredibly bad but you see people condoned them for some reason which is crazy to me
Here is the thing, we shouldn't allow ANY OF THAT because they are all horrible. But that doesn't mean there shouldn't be FICTIONAL villains. As long as people don't actually support their actions, and can separate reality from fiction, people CAN enjoy fictional villains!
lmao YES, i literally saw someone says 'al JUST murders and eats ppl' in one of arguments about it, imagine saying that in any other context
I hate the character as much as the next guy, but I would never do something so immature and stupid, like harassing people who cosplay as the character
I personally love Valentino as a villain. He’s very unique among the villains that I like. That said, I obviously don’t condone his behavior and the fact that literally anyone would ever have to say that in regards to any fictional character is so unbelievably stupid.
Even though I hate Valentino is most areas with some aspects that I like about him (Design, Voice, and Interactions with the Vees). Harassing fans of Valentino while not separating reality from fiction is really disgusting. Harassing someone over a character you hate is stupid and it doesn't make you any better if you are taking a cartoon character way too seriously. I'll never go out of my way to harass Valentino fans or even fans of Angel and Valentino as a ship. I hate the ship, but I keep my mouth shut and not spread hate to other people.
i personally really like him as a villain and people on instagram keep getting mad at my profile picture lol
Reminds me of the Boyfriend Dungeon drama. The VA for Eric (the game's antagonist) got bullied off of Twitter by people who couldn't separate fact from fiction.
Last I heard he was considering quitting acting altogether because people were sending him death threats over the character he played. But that was back in 2021 so I don't know what's happened since then
Whenever I say I like Valentino there’s always someone who is like “thAt MeAns YoU sUppOrT blah blah blah” NO I DONT. When I say I like Val it means I like him as a character, not the actions his character chooses to do.
Likening a character does not = approving of their actions.
Facts, to be honest, I think you're dealing with the younger side of the fanbase. The ones that hate characters dependant on how "quirky" they are.
I remember creating a mimzy cosplay for a con a few weeks back and after i went to the convention, ppl were fat shaming me and saying how i was the worst character..
Woooow,… people are dog shit these days I feel like your cosplay was amazing and that is a genuine compliment
People really be hating on Mimzy just for interrupting a song
That second incident is a 911 call. Octo Lady was reasonably in fear for their life because someone pointed a weapon at them and fired. Even if it was discovered afterward that the weapon was not real, in the moment it was a real threat to their life ("...came out of nowhere and pointed a gun at me. I didn't know if it was a nerf, a water gun, a retort.."). The guy then saying "I needed to let off steam" is a deeply concerning thing to say and a warning sign that he could escalate this in the future into a more major incident (ie actually shooting someone). That guy should have been arrested and had multiple charges against him.
I’m going to say this once so all Val haters listen up. Val is one of my most favorite characters. But it’s not because of his treatment of AD. I thinks it’s bad and I do hope he gets punished for it, though I’m not wishing he gets killed off. I just like how he is as a villain and his chemistry with Vox. I don’t mind if people cosplay as him. And if he were to be redeemed I wouldn’t mind, though I highly doubt it will happen considering what he’s done throughout season one. To those who dislike him that’s totally okay. I don’t mind at all and if you disagree that’s fine. But don’t you dare harass me or anyone who likes him or cosplays as him It’s pathetic. If you do harass me it’ll be an instant block because heck no! Anyways I’ve said what I needed to say. My condolences go out to AD and Val Cosplayers.
If Valentino was real then yeah people have a right to be mad but he's fictional you can still not like him as a character I understand that. But harassing people over liking him...nuh uh!
Alastors literally a fucking seriao killer and cannibal 💀way worse than val
Don’t forget Adam who has killed millions of sinners, some of them being teen, or child souls, like I hate Valentino with a burning passion, but that does not mean I am going to forget that most people in the show or not the most Morally great people

I hate how toxic these people are and how they basically making the fandom look so much worse because of their stupid and idiotic ways of treating others. like if any needs to get an life.. its these people.
Feel really bad for the cosplayers and hope they don't end up giving up on doing what they love, because some braindead people can't see difference between fiction and reality.
In 2030, there will be no villain characters, because the actors would get too much harassment outside of work
But not having villain characters is so boring
I like him as a punching bag

The thing about Valentino’s accent is that it’s noticeable when he’s angry

i dont like Val but im not gonna harass a cosplayer. theyre cosplayers, not the characters
Many people have cosplayed William Afton/Springtrap, White Diamond, Emperor Belos, Griffith, Makima, etc but nobody on Twitter has ever complained about it being problematic.
Valentino may be my least favorite Hazbin Hotel character but people are allowed to dress up as any fictional villain as long as they don’t condone their actions.
I'm honestly done with the fan base. Fuckin done. I hate Val, but I love the design. I would love to see more cosplays of Val! But walking up to someone you DO NOT KNOW and being an asshole because of the character they're voicing/cosplaying? Please go seek help. That's insane

y'all can cry about it, i like Val
Same! I love his design his personality (with the vees) and his development
But with all this being said I dislike his actions
Same. I dislike his actions but his actions are one of the reasons I love him. Idk why though.
Al and so many other character's are just as bad as Val and if someone isn't causing real trouble or doing sickening things unless for harmless rping & responsible with things being done then don't harrass them and let them cosplay as the individual.
I met a Valentino cosplayer at a con and let me just say that he was the NICEST PERSON I HAVE EVER MET.
As someone who roleplays as Valentino in roblox sometimes, I hate this.
(⚠: Long text down.)
⬇
I hate that in every single roleplay I to have to put EXPLICITLY on my bio that I don’t want to be bullied or harassed outside roleplay, or in roleplay. Even though I ask the people to read my bio politely, half of the server goes against me and they don’t even let me move (Admin abuse by hacks or security tools gamepass). Only the other V’s roleplayers get to defend me, if not, the whole gang of roleplayes try to kill me (in rp) or worse, even Angel Dust roleplayers can get worse than canon Valentino at harassment ab*se levels.
The saddest part? This happens frequently in all the servers, no matter the creator, no matter the day. The only times I get to be safe being Valentino is if one of the Vee’s is admin, so they can stop harassment.
I understand Valentino sucks as person, Valentino can be portrayed as some irl ab*ser for the spectator for his acts, but there’s characters who do even worse and nobody even bothers.
And no, I don’t support Valentino’s actions, without him, the Vee’s are incomplete, and Angel Dust doesn’t works for someone, making roleplay boring.
I don’t support or agree to Valentino’s actions, I just like him for his chill VA, creative mechanics, pretty design, and his mechanics with the Vee’s.
..What I’m saying is that is okay to like characters without agreeing with its morality, (like light yagami or Alastor) it’s fiction, after all, it’s all made up for making you feel that way.. But when you get to hurt someone who’s not fictional for it, it’s just ridiculous, I can’t really understand or imagine how there’s people who’s cruel enough to harm someone for liking something. It’s okay to like or dislike characters, ships, or general things. We have freedom to express our feelings, ideas, likes or thoughts as long as nobody gets hurt in the process.
*I am really sorry for what happened to this happened to this cosplayer, it must’ve been terrifying, more because is about real life people, I hope they get better soon and this kind of things never happen again.*
People are hating a villain for actually being a villain 💀💀 this is crazy
God no one knows how Villains are supposed to act anymore. God help these degenerates if they find out about the Night Lords
Disney has Villain brand merch and everything because of how incredible their classic villains are. No one baps an eye and yes Disney wouldn't go that far but nearly have with their villains. Frollo is close to something of Valentino we'll ever get in a Disney medium and he's one of the most popular of the villains! Ironically, people who go around harassing for this stuff are acting like a villain themselves! XD
Honestly, I think this whole argument is stupid. People should be able to cosplay who they want even though the character might be very unpopular and hated be free to do you. Another thing is my friend is going to go as Valentino for a con and for dress up for friends and I hope they don’t get bullied or harassed this bad.
Well wishes for all the Valentino cosplayers
They point a gun at her?! That’s ever kind of messed up man.
It was probably a fake gun, but still
I literally had to call someone out in one of my vids bcuz they flat out said they were going to bully val editors all bcuz i put 1 or 2 val edits in my vid people really need to learn to separate certain things.
I'm sure others have said this in the comments as well, but people really need to learn to separate the person from the costume they're wearing. Sadly cosplayers being harassed over their choice in character is not new. I remember reading and hearing about people being nasty to cosplayers going as Adam Tauros from RWBY years ago.
Doesn't surprise me
Me and a friend of mine cosplayed Vox and Val (me being vox, friend being val). Multiple people harassed my friend. I mainly harassed them back. We left shortly after.
I’m so sorry that happened to you. I feel like people don’t know the difference between fiction and reality anymore.
He’s a good hateable character, let’s be real. I DO HATE Valentino, but that’s why he’s a good written villain, if we hate him to this point it just mean he’s a good written villain, We HATE him.
Yeah!
Well by those people's logic, I would be condemning the actions scp-049 did since I like to cosplay as him yet I never had anyone react the same way these people reacted to someone cosplaying as Valentino. Like many people have said, people should realize cosplaying doesn't equal to condoming whatever action done by the character the cosplayers cosplays as because it's fiction and people should be able to like characters and cosplay as them, especially villains.
If I were a voice actor, I would never, ever agree on voicing a character like Val because I would get harassed to Hell and back. Joel is truly a brave man.
Fr, bro props to him. I love Valentino as a villain, to be honest. But that does not mean that I automatically think that sexual abuse is OK
While I’m not really into the humor in both Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel. I’m not gonna go and say that the character designs and writing are absolutely terrible cuz they’re not. The ppl who keep harassing Vivzie are pathetic as well those brain dead fans at those conventions. How can you feel so confident doing something so stupid irl over a fictional character? people like that just need to stay inside and not interact with the real world.
I give Vivzie props for not bowing down to these self righteous twitter idiots who think everything in fiction is problematic. I can appreciate that she doesn’t take that bs. It would be in her best interest to just ignore toxic ppl on Twitter though.
I stg people have developed such an unhealthy parasocial attachment to fandom nowadays. It’s like a some “fans” seem to actually hate the show because something bad happened to their beloved fictional character and take it out on people in real life for liking the villain who did the bad stuff, which is what a villain is supposed to do, you know??
I remember when JJBA started getting more popular back in 2016. Lots people cosplayed Dio,who brainwashed a mother into eating her baby infant in part 1, no one bats an
eye. Yet now in 2024, all of a sudden people now are all up and arms about Valentino cosplayers. If a certain character triggers you, it’s your responsibility to handle it maturely and not lash out at people over fiction.
Too many smooty brainers forget that villains like Valentino are needed as a foil to the MCs ideology. In this case, its Charlie's belief that all sinners, regardless of past and present can be redeemed.
Without Valentino being this openly abusive monster, her conflict with Heaven wouldn't have been as effective. That leaves her fighting two battles. The one at the gate and the one in her own backyard.
I feel like the thing most people forget when watching HB or HH is that these are demons in hell. They arent gonna be many good guys in these shows, and there's gonna be a lot of swearing and sex jokes. And if you don't like this stuff or you cant handle it like an adult, thats fine, don't watch it. You don't need to start harassing the creator, or people that like certain characters, that doesn't make you any better than you see them
Thats why I think anyone who is harassing cosplayers for cosplaying as him are clearly too young to be watching this show
The funniest thing about people who harass people who like Valentino is that they always say "you need therapy" when in fact therapy is one of the first places that will tell you that it's okay to like villainous fictional characters 💀
For exemplo I don't really like Val very much (but I still think it's very well written) because sometimes he's a trigger for me, (but for some reason I'm not so triggered by Vox and Velvette even though they're both accomplices and horrible people, idk, brains are crazy xD) so I have to recognize my limits and don't look for their content and leave those who like them alone
I don't know what's happening to people, they treat fictional characters with much more respect and than real people
I am not only disappointed in these kind of people but also disgusted. I (as a cosplayer) am truly mad about that people cannot detect reality from fiction. If this continues then there will have to be some law passed or something to protect cosplayers.
Wow how would've thought the villain character acted like a villain
Thats so sad i relate as a val fan tho i have never cosplayed
Some people just can’t tell the difference between reality and fiction. Just because someone is cosplaying as a villain doesn’t mean they condone their actions and behavior. These people need to go outside and touch grass.
This is like the thing with Teruteru again…
True that
OH YEAH, I don’t like what he did to kou and Hanako but that does not mean I would harass anybody that cosplayed as him
