To be fair my last employer issued shitty stickers and everyone was complaining about them falling off - meanwhile i removed mine 2yrs ago and there is still a ghost of ink there i cannot seem to remove 🤷🏻♀️
That being said i rented a supposed upscale apartment 20yrs ago and they had lots of college students sharing and having gatherings. There was not even 1 free/open parking space per apartment, but there was TONS of covered/garages they expected you to shell out extra for. Everytime i complained there wasnt a single damn free spot for me to park they would shrug and suggest i rent a garage. Id frequently have to park infront of office and squeeze past gate since door was broken, pregnant and carrying bags of groceries.
What made me irrationally angry was you were required to have cars registered and couldnt have visitors etc… but they never once enforced it. My building for example had 16 apartments and 8 free parking spots. The other buildings had similar ratios. Id circle entire complex at 5pm and not a single spot would be open. But there was 24 covered and garages empty per building 😡

Person A signs the lease. Only individual on the lease to reside in the apartment. Then 10 other individuals move in with person A, no stickers for those 10 other vehicles as they are not tenants of the property. There you go.

This phenomenon has been happening in NC for over 20 years. It even happens with houses - one person will rent it, and the next day there are bunk-beds installed and 8 people are living in a single family home.
@@PatrickSBellSrIt happened everywhere! In Australia, we passed a law to stop people renting and living in garages. Still happens but less than it used to. My previous neighbour turned their garage from the townhouse they rented, into a drug party garage. How do I know? They had drug induced fights on my driveway. I moved soon after their landlord sold. I took the hint and sold my place and moved. I’ll never go into a townhouse again. There was always issues with parking too, my other neighbour constantly parked right across my driveway and blocked my entry.
All it takes is a few tows for everybody to start following the rules. The scofflaws will be pissed, but all the good tenants will appreciate your efforts.

How exhausting is it when people cry to you about the injustice in the world? If they legitimately feel they’ve been wronged, they need to deal with the person that asked your company to remove that vehicle. God bless you and your kindness/patience.

I've worked for companies that require a parking sticker. The company mandated which window they were to be placed in, i.e. left rear window, front window, passenger side, etc. If they weren't placed (adhered) in the proper window, they would ticket and then tow the vehicle. This made it easier for them to drive through and monitor the lot, not having to walk around all the cars playing hide and seek, looking for a sticker. We were not allowed to leave the backing on and just place it on the dashboard to prevent sharing of stickers.
That is exactly how it needs to be done and the lease needs to spell out what the parking terms are for guests and how they will be accommodated.
If you wait 3 hours then go back all the cars that left will be back on the lot

Everyone can bitch and complain about the "mexicans" coming to this country...but look at the license tags on those cars...all are current...and these guys are working somewhere...they may be in this country illegally, but what does it say about the hotels, restaurants, lawn care, house cleaning, painters, roofers, construction, slaughter houses, agriculture/farm companies who hire them off the book for less than what they'd pay an American or legal immigrant to do the job? American employers are too damned cheap to pay anyone a living wage. The illegal migrants fill America's insatiable need for low income workers. Trump has them working in his hotels and golf courses...he admitted it.

I believe the property manager needs to look closely at their rental agreements and the number of people on that contract and the stipulations of overnight of longer visitors and their parking arrangements.

I worked in property management for 25 years. Generally every lease allows 2 vehicles per unit and the type of vehicle and license tag should be recorded in the lease. Additionally, the leases stipulate that guest staying for more than 24 hours must register their vehicle with the office and have a guest pass put on the dashboard.
Tenants used to pay their rent in person at the office and management knew everyone staying in the unit. These days many tenants pay their rent online and never go to the office over the course of their lease, so management rarely get to have that face-to-face. I've never been to Gatlinburg, but I easily recognized the construction of that property as one of the national property management companies that operate low income properties. I've been retired from apartment management for several years now and don't miss it at all. I worked in three different states and parking is a main issue everywhere.
Any place I lived, anyone staying overnight had to be on the lease. I live in Texas though, not sure what the lease policies are in Tennessee.

Enforcing leases requires attorney fees and courts. And because of slime landlords, the courts have to protect tenants. This hurts good landlords. But parking enforcement is a quick and dirty help to owners and clearly is fair to all the proper tenants. Sadly, there is no wiggle room like the car that was there for an hour. And cash payments are a burden but the need is clear.
Stickers should be labeled with the vehicle plate number. No more trading. But the office must make guest passes available so good tenants can be rewarded.
I had a friend who lived in a complex that if they had a visitor ,you had to get a temp parking pass. The complex had tow trucks that would patrol the lot randomly throughout the day and night towing cars with no pass on them.

Used to live in apartment with 2 assigned clearly marked parking spaces. If we got home and someone was in our spot, our front winch pulled their car right out and left in the middle of the road, and then we parked in our spot. It was as crazy as this place was, but people learned not to park in our spot.
I put a cone in my parking spot, finally people stopped parking there, and called tow truck one time, it's ridiculous in California, some residents own 5-6 cars and a work truck

@@Drpepperkev4 Yes they do, but people don't follow the rules, so we winched them out of our reserved spot. You can see how long it took this management to get the job done. It took us about 3 minutes to correct the problem.

Mailman here, you wouldn't believe the amount of people that do not check their mail. I have customers that only check for amazon packages but leave all the letters, until I run out space and hold their deliveries

I began working in apartments back in the 1980's and college students would cram all kinds of roommates into an apartment and maybe two of them would be on the lease. It was a 100 unit apartment complex that literally had 1 1/2 parking spaces per unit (I counted) and that was for 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units. On average there were 2 people for every bedroom and they all had a vehicle. So parking was a nightmare every day.

My apartment complex gave us stickers and they all have to be in the upper left of front windshield (drivers side) so the tow truck company is not looking all over for the sticker. they know exactly where to look.
They should have to register their tags with the management company, im sure theyre only allowed 1 or 2 parking spots at most. Management needs to make sure at time of lease signing that renter understands, its hard with the language barrier but necessary.
Some folks just don't 'get it' until you get into their pockets. I suspect you will have a lot more drama next time you stop by. I'd suggest that you try a more rapid hookup since the young ones with 5 cars in one apartment will force you to call the cops.
My guess: party A (legal) signs the lease and lives out of state. Parties b,c,d,e,etc (illegal) live in the apartment and share the rent and pay in cash. They purposly refuse to display a sticker so they can't be traced to any physical location.
The apartment management should make everyone put the sticker in the same place. All on drivers side back window lower left or something like that so yall don't have to look all over the car for a sticker. While in the USAF we had to put our gate pass on the inside lower driver's side window so the gate guards could see them and pass you in.

I probably shouldn't post this, but. . . Back in the '80s, a gentleman in California was waiting in line at the DMV. As usual, the place was packed. Supposedly, he held up his open wallet (which did not have a badge) and yelled "Immigracion! No se mueva! Muestra sus papeles!" About fifteen seconds later, there were maybe a dozen people in line.
The way he stood between his van and the town truck was laughable,. Like look buddy you ain't stopping me from taking your van 150.00 or I'm leaving with your van!! Be safe you guys I was worried on that one

That one lady said her brother was just there with his van for a few hours then contradicted herself when she said the van had been there before for two weeks without a problem! And, why is the complex not enforcing tenancy requirements (number of occupants) that can be found in any lease!
I think the little blue car that got towed was her relatives car, not the van. She was complaining the van had been there “forever” and wondered why the car got towed having only been there a few hours. I don’t think the car was even in parking spot either.

the apartment that is issuing the parking pass stickers should also designate that they must be affixed to the vehicle in a certain location to prevent sharing which is obviously happening

I love your new banjo intro! About the blue car with the visitors; the sign at the entrance said parking is for tenants only. The visitors were not tenants so they have no right to park there.
I bought a condo in Denver and had the same problem. The tow company never showed up because by the time they did the car would be gone most of the time. I had my fill of renters parking in my spaces so since I had a 4x4 with a winch I would remove the car. It only took a time or two and the problem went way down. It was more effective than writing on their windshield with a tire crayon. 😁

A coworker was lucky enough to score a four day at his friend's cabin in Gatlinburg during the recent Federal holiday weekend. He was loudly discussing the family plans for the weekend of places they were going to eat, shop, etc. When he was done talking I recommended EA on RUclips as an advisory to pay to park or I'll soon view his towing on RUclips.
In most states subleting is illegal and the landlords need to evict all those people .

This is common with apartments and very dangerous, a lot of driver and companies wont touch apartment work.
We had that enforced in our mobile home park. If we had guests, we had to get a 12hr tag BEFORE the office closed that night. They started towing for expired tags and registration too. You got stickered with 24-hours notice to comply. I was one of them and you can bet your sweet bottom I hustled! But we had lots of parking after that.

What a cluster......! The woman who came to pick up the Honda Jeff was talking to is admittedly part of the problem. She stated she has someone "visiting" for a month. More than likely that person has a vehicle parked there with no resident sticker. Hell, I see this here where I live. Someone rents a duplex with a 2-car driveway near our home, after about a week multiple folks show up and move in with that renter and take up most available street parking. Our adult children can't visit us because they're unable to find parking near our home. Two videos in one day, it's like.....like.....a birthday present! Thanks Kendra!!!

This is reality on some apartment complexes. I worked in property management and I've had a gun pulled on me for just putting notices on cars that were illegally parked. This is in Dallas, TX.

I can understand how that one resident doesn't check their mailbox. Nearly all of my bills, they email me. So, I rarely check my mailbox, and then I end up throwing it all away because it's just junk mail or political advertising. Jeff has the patience of a saint when dealing with these clients. Hats off.
Years ago tenants paid their rent in person at the office and managers got to see at least one person from every unit. Today most tenants pay rent online and get emails, so there is no face-to-face over the course of the lease. So it's possible that additional people are moving in and the office doesn't know who is legit without some kind of parking pass.
I worked in property management and some apartment complexes gave out two parking passes per unit when the lease is signed. Guests were required to go to the office and get a guest pass. But still tenants had more than two vehicles and it was a nightmare to enforce.

Most everyplace I know subleting is a violation of the lease. Time for the property owner to terminate those leases and evict those tenants.

I loved watching people running around trying to escape with their cars.
The apartment manager should assign numbered parking spaces to the occupants and issue a sticker with the name of the apartment complex and the number of the parking spot that the car is assigned to. Disabled drivers should be assigned handicapped parking spots. One car parking spot per apartment. If visitor parking is available, it should have a time limit, for example, 2 hours. Or rent out the extra spots to the apartment occupants for an extra charge.

They were given stickers a month prior to this. They knew they were wrong, especially when some of them ran out to move quick.

@@NoNonsense30 Assigned spaces has the added benefit of allowing tenants to police the lot. If you find somebody parked in your space, then you can call EA and have the scofflaw towed away.
