I only dropped across this series of videos, a couple of weeks ago, and I have been fascinated at what this guy has achieved, and his overall attitude to life, a fabulous job on the restoration, and on having a great family, sorry for the loss of your mother, and thanks for a great series.

I have now been through the whole series and I must say this is RUclips at its absolute best. Not only is the level of craftsmanship top notch, but also I really enjoyed the (your?) attitude to the work done. Humble and true to life in a way not so common anymore.
Myself, I am planning on buying my first boat. I live in Sweden, I work as an automotive journalist but have had absolutely no contact with anything more powerful in the boatworld than my stepdads 6 hp Yamaha outboard (lol). I started watching this to familiarize myself with larger boats and what you have to deal with owning one - and feel I have now been educated by a true pro. Huge thanks for many evenings of fun watching and also for sharing your knowledge. //Jon

Is it just me...? But my favorite part of the video is his
young Son who comes out the door, then peering
behind the door, wondering, what in the
    hell is Dad doing now!?

Happened upon this series after considering the purchase of an old 1986 Baha Islander 180 with a rotten floor. Man, you saved me a boat load of work! Only a boat as beautiful as yours is worth that amount of effort. You did a fantastic job and you have a better than new boat. It sounds great too. Great job on both the boat and videos. Thank you!

I watched all these videos, as I have one dead boat for restoring. I was really uncertain whether to buy new one at a great price which is barely affordable right now or try to repair my old one which was never repaired correctly. You gave me inspiration that I can do that. And I want to thank you for your inspirational videos!

Congrats on fixing your boat. I started watching this evening and ran through your videos. Nice work! Sorry to hear about your Mom. My Dad passed 11 years ago and I wish he could have been here to enjoy my boat. I am sure your Mom is proud of of the work you did. Again, congrats on a great job.

I know I'm late to your party, but you did an amazing job! Very well done sir! One of the things I loved about our boat was the sound of firing up the twin V8's and getting ready to pull away from our slip, heading out of the marina and on towards our destinations. Boating isn't for everyone, but for those who love it you'll have a wonderful time... unless an important system fails. It was expensive, but we got so much enjoyment out of it, sightseeing animal life, even a submarine and naval ships, and quaint towns to explore during our weekends away from home. And sleeping overnight in our cabin with gentle rocking of the boat was calming and therapeutic as well.

What a great series! You are the "Paragon of Patience." You took a problem and used persistence, know-how, and a commitment to doing the job absolutely as best as humanly possible and it paid off. That boat is WAY better than when it came out of the factory. With all the work, you'll probably hold on to it for a long long time but, if you ever decide to sell it, these videos will greatly add to the value. The best to you and your family and thanks again for sharing. Now, HAVE FUN! (And be safe!) :)

I will begin the tear down process on Wednesday after work. I am not sure of all that I will find wrong with it, but I do have a bit of confidence going in to this project that I did not have before. I will keep your videos close by as the process begins. Thanks again for sharing...Scott. Panama City FL

You are very impressive and admired how you dealt with purchasing a used boat only to discover it had rotted decking! Most would have sued the seller as we know he was very well aware of the rot and should have never sold it without disclosing the situation. But we both know karma will catch up with the seller sooner or later!
I am also sorry for your loss of your mom, I could tell you loved her very much!
    God bless and best wishes

Wow. Now Im an inboard guy, but Jay, your boat looks amazing. Plus you get to pat your self on the back and say, "I did that." The Corsa was an excellent choice. Every 454 needs to be heard. Even though it took longer than expected you still got it done and you know how well its done. And you if it ever comes time to sell, you can ask for more and a true boat owner will pay.

Good job on the repair. My family had a 1973 22 foot Sea Ray and a 1984 20 foot Sea Ray that we used in Lake Tahoe. They are excellent boats in rough water. My mom passed in 2014 so I know how you feel and sorry it happened. It was not an easy time that year. It gets better over time but I still have my moments.

Great job rebuilding the transom and decking, that is the most important part of your new boat. Im a long time boat owner had a 22 foot boat with a 300 Mercruiser with thru hull exhaust. My boat had hydraulic trim tabs, I would dump them down in the water all the way and my boat would jump out of the water. Without the tabs the boat was a dog coming out. One more very important thing, Im sure you realize this by now, the outdrive must be down all the way if you are trying to come out of the water, if you trim your drive up and give it alot of throttle you are putting tons of stress on your constant velocity U-Joints on your drive. You did a fabulous job on that boat. Using that expanding foam was a great feature.
PS, I had a stainless steel prop on my boat, makes a big difference with performance. Good Luck and have fun. BE CAREFUL. No one should be in the front of boat while going faster than headway speed, very dangerous, very dangerous.
