You should talk about what needles you need to do quilting or embroidering different materials like cloth vs baseball cap. Also how do you change your thread in the middle of an embroidery project if you run out.
Hi Jessie. During the Happy Hour videos I refer folks to the following document. This document is really handy. Recommend printing it out and keeping it near. It will tell you what needle size and stabilizer to use for a particular type of fabric. www.emblibrary.com/el/elprojects/pdf/pr1153.pdf When running out of thread in the middle of embroidering. I cut the thread, put in the new spool, back stitch about 10 spots and then continue with the embroidery.

Hello! I was wondering have you ever tried to embroider over a front pocket of a t-shirt? If so how were you able to do that or if you can make a video to show how to since I am a visual learner and your videos have helped me a lot with my machine!
Hi Daniel. You just have to be careful on how you hold down the hat. I don't notice the creases turning permanent. I can always smooth them out. You can always look at different material hats. Some hats are softer.

Hi Beverly. Yes the hat hoop is replaces the inside portion of the hoop. I am not sure if this would work on the luminaire. I'm sure that they have some type of hat hoops that work on your machine. I would google and look around youtube to see if someone has a video doing a hat on that particular machine.

Hi Linda. Yes the Hat hoop will definitely work on the PE800. I got it from an Etsy Shop named Hat Hoop. If you send them a message and tell them you want a hat hoop for the PE800 they will make sure you order the right one. Their products are awesome and great quality. I brought it over two years ago and it is still in great condition!
Thanks for this video. Received the hat hoop for Xmas. Followed along with the video. Only issue I have is after the last stitch of each color the machine moves the needle out further than the edge of the design and then back to where the next color is to start. The foot gets stuck on the edge of the brim and frame and there is a gear grinding noise that totally messes up where center is. I work around by resetting up position and stitch count to where I need it to start. Is there a way to get the machine to move to the next color start without that big move? I am using the hat hoop setting. I don’t want to mess up my machine!

If you are embroidering it's best to use embroidery thread. The thread spools for overlock machine can be too thick for the design. You should usually use 40 wt thread.

Hi Barbara. Embrilliance isn't a monthly subscription. You for the product once and you get the updates to the program for free. Not sure if the free version is only good for a month, I believe you can use it longer than that. However the free version isn't the full Essentials program. I recommend reading up on it on the website.

Now I know there is no money to be made in embroidering ball caps on a regular home embroidering machine. It just takes to long using the hoop. It took about 1 hour to complete. A commercial embroidering machine would be faster and more profitable if you're looking to make hats to sell. But this was a good video none the less. Thank you.
Yes. I cost about $130.00 for Embrillance Essentials. I choose this software because it's easy to use and I use a MAC. Other programs are designed to work with Windows only.

Hi Lexie, to embroider a front pocket on the SE1900 you will have to detach the pocket from the shirt, embroider it and then sew it back on.

You have to make sure to flatten out the hat as much as possible. This is easier to do with unstructured hats. Structure hats are more challenging.

what about when your bobbin thread runs out. is it easy to reinsert?
Hi Irene, Yes. The machine will alert you when the bobbin thread is low.
when rethreading a upper thread breakage, does the machine go back to the area to start over again. or can you do it manually?
The machine will start to sew in the last area. I always go back 10 stitches and restart just to make sure I didn't miss any stitches in the design.

Now I know there is no money to be made in embroidering ball caps on a regular home embroidering machine. It just takes to long using the hoop. It took about 1 hour to complete. A commercial embroidering machine would be faster and more profitable if you're looking to make hats to sell. But this was a good video none the less. Thank you.
Yes. If you are selling a bunch of hats you will definitely want a bigger machine to handle that for sure. It’s much easier and faster.
Do you pay for the program ?
Yes. I cost about $130.00 for Embrillance Essentials. I choose this software because it's easy to use and I use a MAC. Other programs are designed to work with Windows only.
