When I first heard about Arcade Time Capsule I thought to myself, why bother with this? I'll just play on my MAME cabinet. You guys changed my mind. It really sounds great to experience the atmosphere of an arcade.
I do find myself going in Arcade Time Capsule quite a bit even though I have a MAME cabinet in the corner of my room too. It's worthwhile, and sort of offers a different experience to the standard cabinet. I'm not sure if the novelty of it will last, but I sort of hope it does.
Cheers. Would be interesting to see it ported to PC - I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility given they ported the first Horizon game, and the second is due on PC soon. It would certainly be a graphical PC VR showcase, given how it already looks on PS VR2.
@@ImmersedRobot I got to the end and realised a couple of bits were missing for the communications device and could not be bothered to search all the maps again
For Citra VR if you havent had a chance to check out the latest 0.3.2 Beta they added a 180 degree immersive mode that Dr Beef is working on and it's really special. Like you all said it's just gonna keep getting better.
I tried the immersive mode earlier with MK7 - quite impressive. If they can get the emulation for MK perfect, I'll be spending a lot of time in that! - Rog
I've always had fogging problems if trying to use any soft strap headset out of the box - always seems that I had to tighten it so much, my face just ended up mashed into the HMD with no airflow. Use any 3rd party rigid solution, and the problem always (more or less) goes away.
The main things I don't like about Arcade Time Capsule are that it uses MAME from 2010, it's teleport/snap turn only, and you can't play with motion controls. I also couldn't get my wireless xbox one gamepad to work with it. I like it a lot otherwise.
Yes I had to connect my Xbox One controller to the pc via cable as it wouldn't pick up Bluetooth wise. But if you had it working though maybe it's a config issue I need to sort my end.
My XBox 360 wireless pad worked without any fuss, but I've not got a more modern version of that pad. Free locomotion should hopefully be coming with the next release iirc what Halfdeck said on Discord.
I have new 3DS XL with IPS screen, cost me an arm an a leg. PC version of Citra had had SBS mode since time immemorial, i tried it with PC version of Virtual Desktop - looked amazing but emulation was wonky and I eventually finished Samus Returns on original hardware.
I'm not sure how I missed out on the original Cetra before. I did test it alongside the Quest version, but the Quest version is my preferred way of playing due to the passthrough background (which is something I've not been too bothered about before with any other app). edit - Cetra, lol - I must have FFVII on the brain...
Bit late watching the video. Great show! About HCOTM: "If you look at the trophy list, it's one out of ten people who bothered to finish the game". A question, does it also count in people who have just played the trial? Now I'm curious to check out the completion trophies for other games.
That's a good question - and I don't know. If you play the trial for a game, can you actually get trophies to pop (and have them register on your account), or do you only get them if you buy the game? I'm not sure if that makes things better or worse either way though, given that if it includes the trial, then it pushed the numbers down due to people not even buying the full game.
@@FlukeRogi good point! I went through the completion percentages for my 60 PSVR2 games on the PSN trophy page as I found it interesting how low the percentage was for Horizon. (And I like stats :D )There were a few other unexpected findings as well, though comparing these statistics across different games is probably not reasonable. I'm quite sure that some players frequently sample a game and plan to complete it at a later time, which probably affects these percentages. I'll send you the charts via email if you're interested in taking a closer look!
I don’t need the Apple Vision Pro, but VR needs the Apple Vision Pro. I am looking forward to Max Mustard too!

Awesome Sauce!
Always appreciate the VR reviews. I hope Horizon Call of the Mountains come out on PC in due time.

Some of the Trials are for PS Plus members only, not sure if that's the case with CoTM. But yes this game is one of the best VR games ever made.
I loved the Solus Project Gary, played it on PSVR
I remember really enjoying it at the time. I didn’t finish it, and I do think about reinstalling it now and again.

I have to use a hairdryer on my Quest 3 lenses almost every bloody time because of the fogging, so I've ordered the S3 Pro

Audica FTW!
I'd almost forgotten about Audica! I actually really enjoyed it at launch, but I quickly drifted away from it.

My wireless Xbox controller worked fine in Arcade Time Capsule, but I think Lee had problems with his wireless controller as well for some reason.

I redownloaded ATC and tried again, and my wireless xbox one controller worked this time.
Yes weirdly when I loaded up recently it worked wirelessly fine - Lee
