For recording, I personally use SteamVR's VR View with Both Eyes Right Dominant, it lets me turn off or otherwise reduce the desktop window size of games' builtin viewports, netting me a bit of extra performance while giving an excellent view of what I actually see. The dominant view modes are essentially the dominant eye with a corner of the other eye appended onto the side, it doesn't always mesh at the seam but it works really really well.
I think you should use openvr which is steam native. psvr2 is steam native drivers which are openvr. so it would be a good idea to use openvr in iracing so it works with no additional layers.
When i tried open vr it didn’t look good at all, i didnt though spend a lot of time playing with it though and moved onto openXR, you think its worth a bit more effort with open VR?
Yes I’ve been reading that since PSVR2 is a native steamvr headset, using openxr would add another layer and not provide the expected performance increase you get when using Reverb or Meta headsets with OpenXr. Would love some clarity on this because I’m not too savvy on the technical side of things.
Much better i think on the PC than the ps5, seems much bigger! Probably because the foveated rendering im using off opennXR is bigger than on ps5 and static, as in there is no eye tracking so it can be really small i think on ps5! Thats my observations anyway
Did u tried quest 3? I do use one.. curious is it worth it. If eye tracking would be there and working foveated rendering. Than i would be more interested in. Thanks for a video!
Hey, havnt tried quest 3 no, seems like a big step up from quest 2! Foveated rendering does work on psvr2 though openXR, but obviously no eye tracking, i wonder when someone will do a patch or mod to make it work??
Its a tough one recording VR, trying to get something watchable in 16:9 aspect ratio when its recorded in 3020x3080, you have any ideas? Im continually trying new things, haven’t quite got a decent solution yet i agree
It looks about the same to me as my triples. I don't experience the squish from this video. I do feel odd and squished in VR though... So I don't know what to think of what I just said lol.
My VR fov is 110 and triples are 166. Definitely a difference, but really only to peripheral, not to focus. I wish I could sell the triples, I never want to race with anything less than VR moving forward.
hey mate, did you run tripples before? Im about to set mine up and wondring if it messes with triple setting when unpluging the display ports from screens
@@AnAverageSimRacer-sy9vx all good mate, got it working. Had to buy the blue tooth USB to get the controllers to work. Massive head FK, but worth it in the end

My goal has been to get PSVR and a wheel some day. And this video proves the tech is really good now compared to a couple of years ago. To anyone, which is the "best" VR vs triple screens? And if so why and how?
Well yes it is being viewed on a flat screen, and probably at a different refresh rate and specific resolution, but it is indicative of what im seeing as a comparison between the two, clearly impossible to do a direct comparison unless the audience is viewing through a Vr headset

Nooo openxr is way better than openvr.
OpenXR is the way to go

As i can appreciate the fov, to me it makes everything look squished together. It no longer looks wide.

Not yet i haven’t, i have been reading about under-volting though as that seems to do some good!
What's the baseline for comparison? I'm curious about what "as well as it could" means here. I thought it performed quite well this chip.
That virtual mirror ruin VR experience. Dont know how ppl dont use real mirrors on VR.
Totally agree, although uses my system horsepower to run the mirrors instead of the virtual mirror unfortunately

It happened to me, you must turn off and on everything once yo change to a 3.0 port. 3.0 ports have a blue part in the inside.

It makes up for it in the lighter scenes, but yes it is annoying how you can see it as the headlights move about
Lmao with a quest 2 footage. You using back 1070 too with psvr2?
Sorry i dont understand, the quest 2 footage is to compare against, im using a 4070super GPU with both quest 2 and psvr2
