Check PCV valve, remove the throttle body and check if the intake manifold is covered in a layer of engine oil, if yes, it is PCV valve. Also check the oil seals on your engine and any leakages. If this is normal, do a compression test and see if there is significant deviation from the manufacturer compression readings. The toyota 1.8 is a durable engine and can last easily for half a million kilometers without major engine work.
@@codenametremor I also have 2010 1.8 1zz-fe and no, it doesn't consume oil. Mine is 170,000km driven on 20w 50 oil. I'm thinking to switch a grade lower to 10w 40 but I'm afraid. Should I go for it?
@@yarkeeee I guess so.When i went to the shop to buy engine oil to refill the car,the seller there said me that the mecanic used the wrong oil for my car,so he gave me another type of oil and from than the car is ok
The rings as pointed above might have been installed incorrectly, proper seating of the rings is crucial. I had a friend who got his engine overhauled and the mechanic installed the piston rings with the cuts aligned vertically, that engine became a drunkard, used to burn 2 Liters of oil every 15-1600 kms (1000 miles)
That's a very ordinary oil, group III. It doesn't clean too much. Maybe in a still soft deposit that came from using group I mineral oil in a non demanding engine...

Go to service every 10000 miles, oil from 2 months 2024 is 5w30, and belts are changed at 82.83 atmospheres at 80000 miles, and turbo 110.130 at 60000 miles, we learned that cars that drive longer distances wear a belt less - means the engine is fantastic. Well we got an t5 uses 1 liter oil per 450 km ( diesel ) no smoke rums well mot worthy 500k but yet piston rings worn out so i gonna replace them and also stem sealsvand just ill justvrebuild it 😀😉

My rings are brand new and so are my valve guide seals, and I am burning oil. It could also be a head gasket
If your rings were changed, your head gasket should have been changed. So it's truly a repair error. Go complain to your mechanic.

I think clutch use transmission fluid and it is separated from the oil case of engine oil. I might be wrong.
Try to use Mobil super 3000 5w 40 full synthetic engine oil it will free up your piston rings
