Not uncommon for cops to go after the most vulnerable. I can remember seeing video of a 5-year-old little black girl in being put in handcuffs by the cops just because she was being 'disruptive' in class. And there was another story not too long ago of a woman with dementia who was like 70 something year old and weighed maybe 80 lb and she was trying to steal $13 worth of something at Walmart and then when they confronted her at the store she left it there. Walmart called the cops who stopped her as dhe was walking home on the road and they threw her on the ground and ended up breaking her arm while they were arresting her. She had dementia, she didn't even know what she was doing. They broke her arm and some other part of her body I remember. And they were laughing about it afterwards back at the station. Laughing.

I like how y'all keep wanting people with no training, no weapons, and probably little no know knowledge of the school's layout to go in there and basically be fodder.
Like seriously, how many parents would have to fling themselves at the shooter before one actually succeeded getting past the bullets and then what. Are any of them actually strong enough to overpower an individual.
Or what if the people rushing in caused the shooter to shoot sporadically causing more casualties.
Or if they were in there and the shooter decided to flee and shot bullets into the classrooms as they left.
There is a lot of things that can go wrong and make a situation worse by people just running in to them.
I know the feeling of utter helplessness and despair as you watch a tragedy happen, but rushing into an active situation will most likely end with not only the parents', but more students and staff members as well.

Their training manual says that if you don't choose to attack an active shooter, you should look for other work. And their only alibi is that the shooter wasn't active ... that's the coverup. This mother ... who was arrested, released, climbed the fence, entered the school, hears gunfire but sees no cops, found her kids and brought them out ... did what the cops were paid to do. Those crowd meisters owe more than their paychecks to the surviving families, while the chief crowd meister takes a seat on city council. Pathetic!

That mother has the love and courage of the Holy Spirit to do what she just did. God bless her. I cannot say the same for those police officers.

I don't have children. Don't know what it's like to be a mother. Definitely don't know what it's like to be a mother grieving their child's death. Still this event weighs heavy on me. I've cried literal tears for complete strangers. My heart breaks for them. For the kids who will never live out their futures and for the families facing a devastating new reality. Life without their babies. 💔😢

Never mess with a momma bear protecting her cubs, you cowards. What a raw display of pure cowardice. I mean there's no other explanation. Even if it was a direct order not to assault, police forces should have read the situation and reacted. Huh imagine, you hesitate in a firefight people die...and that's what an active shooter is. A firefight.

If a cop tells me to jump and I don't say "How High Sir" and then jump as high as I can, I get shot for not obeying them without question. All they do is stand around looking and talking tough until it's time to act tough. Then they cower. Afterwords, they lie about it and start demanding I obey them all over again. I don't much feel like obeying these cowards anymore.

19 men with a sworn oath, trained in a well known 20 year old mandated protocol of situational engagement of an active shooter, and this is how they execute, uphold and enforce it?
Give this courageous woman a title, a badge, a gun and a national platform with real power to change and enforce, along with an enormous salary.

Not one "Good Guy with a Gun" out of the entire lot. The school PD, town PD, and sheriff's department needs to be disbanded. They are 100% worthless...any members of other departments such as TX highway patrol present but inactive should be fired.

I understand the sentiment of that mother. She was willing to lay her life down her for her children and the other children in that school. I also understand the cowardice of those cops. They were afraid that they might get hurt trying to do the job they’re paid to do, as a result they allowed a bunch of children to die because they weren’t willing to go in and take that shooter out. And before anyone says “ those cops want to go home to their children too and they were just protecting their own lives” or “ Its easy say you would have gone in until you’re in the situation “, thousand of combat troops do what these cowardly cops wouldn’t do all the time. That’s what serving your country means.

They were hearing the gunshots with it being a rifle and in a building it would have been very loud. I remember that one cop mentioned the officers were concerned for their own safety. Waited for Bortech and I’m wondering if that was for the ballistic shields?

@Storytime with Mamabear Trying to be understanding of humanity but if you signed up as a cop then……don’t bar parents from doing what you’re hesitating to do. Basically cops were in the way and their inaction allowed more to happen. More being more kids shot with a rifle at relatively close range.

Combat troops are trained for combat. Every day they train for it. And that still does not mean they don't encounter fear. An underpaid, untrained cop getting into a gunfight against someone who is geared like a soldier, i am not sure if thats what a society can expect from a police man.
