Will anyone tell the reason for this channel being underrated. Cuz this channel is one of the best badminton channels that improved my game at such a level that i can defeat the player who used to defeat me at score of 4-11 or 7-11. Now the scores vice versa all due to you.
I feel like I have a one-on-one coach 😂 all my questions are answered in the videos I've watched. Thank you coach Kennie! Hope to play with you in person
This is even better and effective than what my previous coaches have taught. To be honest, some of those coaches have graced the world badminton arena, but you made it so simple yet very effective. Thank you very much.
Oh wow, I wished I learnt this when I first started learning the basics of badminton. Now with your tutorial I know where I went wrong with my grip and my positioning! So happy to stumble upon your page coach Kennie, bless you ❤

hi , I am 11 and I goes to badminton classes and some days I don't hit some of the shuttles but when I watched your video i am able to hit . Thanks a lot .
Thank you coach kennie !! Very helpful video cause im a beginner badminton for 2 months now I watched a lot of your videos.. thank you for making amazing content
Thanks for the video Ma'am. In 1st step how should be the position of the forward leg as I am losing the balance when both the legs are in the same line & forward leg is not tilted forward & if I tilt forward leg then I can't bring the rear leg forward in 3rd step. Kindly request you to elaborate footwork in 1st, 2nd & 3rd steps.
I'm just getting back to playing badminton after 6 years and i got my shoulder injured because of wrong stance/form when hitting, i was too confident in myself and forgot the basic moves, now I'm focusing on my recovery and train to get my stance/form to be in correct form and through this video it makes my training much easier tysm!
This comment means a lot to me. I’m so happy hearing your daughter at 7 likes badminton and that she understands my video and explanation. Hugs to ur daughter🤗... 😁🏸
I watched your videos concerned with back hand net shots and smashes.they are also very helpful for me.today in my game I tried it also.It was amazing.thank you,Mam.
Your explanation is really nice,Mam.I am practising your wall squat and a couple of exercises to strengthen the knees.it is very helpful.thank you very much,Mam.
In international competitions, its always been feathered shuttles but for fun and recreational games its ok to play with plastic shuttles. Its really preference😁🏸
I love your tutorials. I've been playing badminton for some time but i need to be introduced to the proper way. Sadly I'm not in manila. By any chance, do you have a friend here in Olongapo that can somehow teach me the basics in person? I know this is far fetch but I'm trying my luck somehow. Anyways, the videos are very helpful. Clearly explained and shown. Thanks!
Thanks I think it is better to not move right leg forward until finishing hitting. Moving right leg too early will reduce body rotation force. What do you think ! Thanks
What I teach is what has worked for me and my players but I am open to movements that would suit you better. Do what you feel is better for your style😁🏸
Mam the class was awesome. But i had a doubt that why you are hitting the shuttle cork with a turned racket head.I have seen this hitting in many professional matches.but i did not get the reason for turning the racket head and how they hit such a shot with accuracy. Could you please explain how to hit a shot in a proper way incuding the correct racket position. I hope you will help me to clear my doubts.
The turning of the racket is in a more comfortable movement when getting ready to hit but definitely the face of your racket should face the shuttle and where you intend to put your shot. 😁🏸
Another great video Coach 🏸💥 I love the suspended shuttlecock on the string, perfect for practicing. I'm left -handed, so, I just do this drill the opposite way, right? Thank you. ;)
Hi coach Kennie, 👋 just a quick question, do you offer online coaching? I would love to work with you as I love your online material and training drills 🏸🏸💥💪
Great! Let me know how it works out for you. Although, I must warn you that when you make changes you might get frustrated in the beginning bec. you might miss shots you normally can get but hoping this helps you better in the long run. Thanks! 🏸🏸
Just now viewed your videos. Really amazing and impressive. I'm running a badminton academy in South India. The video was exactly what I was expecting. i have subscribed too. What a dedication in making this video. Thanks for sharing with us.
Pressing the shuttle down will put u in an advantage simply bec ur opponents next shot will again be going up so u have more chances to attack but all these will depend on how your opponents are positioned so you know where to put your shots! 😁🏸
U are the best man I am an Indian and I am focusing on the study And can't get time to go to the coaching you are only my way and path thanks man you are my god 😢
Lovely informative video! Thanks for the 1-2-3 tip, am in my fifties, but will try it to be more deceptive. Any more deception tips would be most welcome...
Hi, it's really a good video but One thing I don't know how is the grib when hitting the shuttle , and how to hold the racket when hitting the shuttle (I mean hold strong or loose when hit the shuttle)
My video on grip is ruclips.net/video/TFvToZP46_A/видео.html but i’d also like to stress that when you grip your racket it must be relaxed, that way you can move your grip better from a forehand to backhand and vice versa...
Coach , i dont have any shuttle coach or a shuttle court play but i have lots of intrest in this game . is it possible to learn shuttle for me and became a player ?
Though we know that badminton requires strong controlled wrist movements there are many instances where we just have to keep it steady with hardly any movement... so with regards to your question in this video the wrist will have to move with the forearm rotation, how strong or sharp the movement is will depend on what shot you plan to execute. I will take note to make a video discussing the wrist movement... 🏸🏸
Great tip by the wall, i learn my pupils for bring your weights of your body on your right feet and bring it over to your left foot and swing with the hips.
I dont get how in "slow practice movements" the elbow is always high and AT AN ANGLE with the shoulder line. When you look at pro level players the elbow is always IN LINE with the shoulders (otherwise it would blow your shoulder when smashing 400kmh+). Another thing is bending/ snaping of the wrist. You also dont see that in a full stroke. Could you comment on this? In addition: If you go to 5:57 and you observe your shot frame by frame (use "," and "." keys), you yourself have your elbow in shoulder line. Your elbow is not "next to the ear" like shown in the drills from the beginning.
Hi Han Hannes! This basic way of hitting the shuttle or what I call 1-2-3 is a very basic way to explain to beginners how you should be hitting the shuttle. 1- both arms up, elbow is as high as the shoulder (you are right about that, i never stressed otherwise at any time in the video) 2- bend the elbow facing up in preparation to hit the shuttle (the reason why i kept stressing this is bec i don’t want the player to hit the shuttle low, the higher u get them you have more options to return your shots and can make the angle of your shot steeper but a pro is a pro for a reason so even if they get their shots lower they still have variety & control). 3- is the actual hitting of the shuttle Yes you are right pro players start with elbow as high as the shoulder which is what i point out in my first step, naturally you have to bend your elbow at 2 but for the pro it’s no longer needed to be emphasized bec the speed of their game is diff from that of a beginner. I hit my shots in 1-2-3 form even at 5:57, it’s just that when it’s faster you no longer see the emphasis on the elbow (no need to exaggerate any movements when running around but the basic form is still seen). I encourage players to hit it as high as possible bec thats the best spot at 11 o clock & for a beginner i would recommend it that way. For an advanced level & the competitive ones they need not do this in a step by step form/emphasis, they can even reach their arm out and not have the perfect form and hit it back with power bec. “They are in a different level” I teach in my video how i was taught and how i do it but i also acknowledge the fact that what works for me doesn’t necessarily work for everyone. With regard to snapping of the wrist, it is a misconception to think you always use your wrist and snap for badminton, in certain occasions you actually steady your wrist & not go for the snap for a more controlled calculated shot. As a former competitive athlete, I like seeing and learning different styles, that way I try which one works best for me, as well as for my students. We have different body height & body structure, the way we hit might differ a bit in as simple as how much we bend our elbows or move our legs. Thank you for your question, it gives me a chance to explain further & give more details. I hope I was able to address your question. Thanks! 😁🏸
Mam,your explanations are very good.pl. consider request that back groud music in some of yr videos is not helpful.so if ok.dont add backgroud music as we want to listen you.regards
Hi mam ,from last year I played shuttle but still Iam beginner.how can I improve my shuttle I dont know wrist movement and fast movements. I feel very hard mam pls guide to me
The beginning is always the hardest because you have so many things to balance. Work on things part by part. Start with the focus of proper grip, make sure you always have the right grip. Then focus on working on your footwork, this might take awhile but be patient then make sure you have both combined correctly then slowly work on different strokes. Dont pressure yourself too much, enjoy it! 😁🏸

I’m coaching 13 year old girls for my 1st time (or otherwise they wouldn’t have a coach). What are some fun warm up exercises?
I dont get how in "slow practice movements" the elbow is always high and AT AN ANGLE with the shoulder line. When you look at pro level players the elbow is always IN LINE with the shoulders (otherwise it would blow your shoulder when smashing 400kmh+). Another thing is bending/ snaping of the wrist.
1- both arms up, elbow is as high as the shoulder (you are right about that, i never stressed otherwise at any time in the video)
2- bend the elbow facing up in preparation to hit the shuttle (the reason why i kept stressing this is bec i don’t want the player to hit the shuttle low, the higher u get them you have more options to return your shots and can make the angle of your shot steeper but a pro is a pro for a reason so even if they get their shots lower they still have variety & control).
3- is the actual hitting of the shuttle
Yes you are right pro players start with elbow as high as the shoulder which is what i point out in my first step, naturally you have to bend your elbow at 2 but for the pro it’s no longer needed to be emphasized bec the speed of their game is diff from that of a beginner.
“They are in a different level”
I teach in my video how i was taught and how i do it but i also acknowledge the fact that what works for me doesn’t necessarily work for everyone.
Thanks! 😁🏸
