Hello~ I enjoyed your video. I am a coach who runs a badminton gym and teaches in Korea. I had some disagreements with other coaches about wrist use, and this video made me think I was right. I'm so glad to see you on video, Coach, who feels the same way as me. Thank you again.
I have watched so many videos on adding power to your shots. This was the clearest and easiest video to understand and apply. I sat on my couch swinging my racquet as per my normal way and can hear the "whoosh" of my racquet significantly change when I applied your instructions. Thank you so much!
Thank you very much. I was struggling to get a better toss in badminton and couldn't find my couch helping too. Your video helped a lot , I need to work on with the backhand lifting...THANKSSSS
@@BadmintonFamly hey, greeting sir!! Can you make a video upon a perfect toss and lifting in badminton I need to lend help from you, because I know you can help me out, regard!!
This is one of the best illustrations I have seen, great work guys. If possible would you mind posting a video pertaining to backhand shots only with slomo’s. Thanks
Me too! I am a Battledor junkie and play 3 x weekly. My wrist was a bit sore for the first time, today, and I suspect I was getting lazy as I was playing socially against novices.
That is a great tutorial! I have been learning how to use the wrist for ages but just could not deliver the skills. This video makes me understand the movements of the stroke and wrist clearly. Love the slow motions in all different angles which help alot!! Really love it. Cannot wait to try all these techniques tomorrow night when I play again. Thank you sooo much !!! 😍
@@BadmintonFamly my goodness, it works!!! I tried out the skills last night. My smash was much more powerful and the clear could reach the base line easily . I did not need to hit as hard as before which result with a tennis elbow. It is just amazing! Thank you soooo much for showing this wonderful technique!! I play much more better on the court now. 😁🙏❤️
Your videos are great and very informative so thank you on behalf of the whole Badminton community!~ I wanted to clarify what sort of finger position you use for your over head shots (clear/smash) versus your under arm shots (forehand). It looks like you are comfortable having the thumb quite high up the grip (in the slow mo with your POV) but when its the camera facing you, your thumb moves down to being ontop of your 3 fingers so the index finger is highest. Im just asking because i am trying to work out which grip to use and where to put my fingers as the regular index, thumb, middle finger position feels a bit awkward.
Hello There ;) Sorry for the long wait for a reply. Haven't checked this video in a while. Love your question! Made us think a bit about it ourself - Great observation! We came to the conclusion that Thomas uses his fingers a lot when playing badminton. Having the thumb a bit higher allows him to press it into the grip right before impact and create some fast power from there. It also helps him hit the shuttle with a steeper downward angle. The lower thumb has the grip sitting a bit more in the palm of the hand and makes for a more underarm rotation based shot. In the end of the day every player has a bit of variations on the basics, but the most important thing is good fundamentals. Have an amazing day
Great video! I've been playing for 10+ years and slowly developed more technique, but I still partly use a bend in my wrist. My trainer frequently says to 'use more wrist', but what's actually meant is to use more forearm rotation?
Terima kasih sangat bermanfaat. Saya masih pemula.
Very Nice Video and Very Informative Really.. just next time pls make video on how tight Grip is to be holded in hands during various Shots.. It could be a lot of help
Thank you for this video. I always had the problem that my arm really hurt after playing badminton in a long time. Now I really understand why

I use flexion and extension of the wrist motion only for deceptive Net shots. I do supination for backhand and pronation for forehand shots ☺️

Great video! I've been playing for 10+ years and slowly developed more technique, but I still partly use a bend in my wrist. My trainer frequently says to 'use more wrist', but what's actually meant is to use more forearm rotation?
Correct. People often use the wrong terminology and refer to “wrist” instead of forearm pronation
watch video properly. it doesnt say not to use wrist, but dont use wrist 100%. from wrist, add the forearm, to bicep, to shoulder.
Really thanks for your tips
