I really dig it. for the the forest aspect i just imagine finding its lair in a tall crops of tree with wires and steel line webbing through out. then once the spot lights hit, that rapid change in lighting making the webbing that much harder to see.
I like the "moths to the flame" idea. Would be cool if it didn't just trap and eat one person, but a crowd. Or as it hunts and eats it grows and has more light, so more prey. Maybe they wouldn't even fear it as it chows down, they seem to not notice when it plucks someone from the stunned crowd.
@@spacebees86 that could be a really cool concept, as it feeds it grows and brings more and more people towards it. Could maybe even do something where townsfolk have accepted it that one a week a few of them will be grabbed and you just need to hope the light doesn't choose you!
As far as stories to tell with the Sentinel, what immediately comes to mind is the players being sent to investigate a ship's graveyard of sorts; dozens of ruined vessels on a rocky shore, all lured in by a Sentinel along the coast. Really leaning into that angler route!
That's cool, It's the sirenhead but not with sound, maybe they are of the same species, or separate species but with evolutionary convergence in attracting prey with something anthropic (siren, street lamp), I can certainly include it in my campaign that I intend to start soon, where players go hunting for cryptids
Thank-you! For creative licensing reasons we couldn't include the siren-head but we did want there to be a nod towards such a cool creature while giving it our own spin. As you said, light vs sound. Looking forward to hearing how it works out in your campaign :D

@@GrizzlyoftheNorth oh yeah that would be quite the horrific experience 😱

Yes love that! Fighting amongst a ship graveyard could also be a really fun and dynamic area, moving in between the ships.
Dude, whatyou do is so good don't stop
@@MarcusChaminade thank-you that means a lot!
