I've been through Palmyra. When i lived in the Bangor area, I used to work in Dexter, and had to pass through Palmyra often on the way back from Dexter. I can tell you that inland Maine is VERY different from coastal Maine. It's ALL very deep forest, and there's a constant, definite sense that you're being watched by something that HATES you and doesn't want you there. It's VERY creepy.

That's the truth - cheap house means no or inadequate security system and middle of nowhere means easy targets for just about anything - robbers, drifters, animals, ghosts?, werewolves?, etc. Moreover, empty houses out in the middle of nowhere could also mean it might have been inhabited before by just about anything one or twice before, including former but now deceased occupants. I saw on a moonlit night running across a field, in Dover Foxcroft, Maine a massively huge canine like creature. This was just after midnight in July of 2021. This creature crossed the road in front of me but far enough to avoid danger at an extremely high rate of speed. It had dark hair and extremely powerful legs and was an estimated width of my car not counting its long tail. It was so bizarre looking and hugely strong, I thought this must be some kind of movie stunt or set. That time I didn't turn around but got moving quickly. The terrain was open fields on both sides of the road. Terrifying speed from this creature 😳 😬. Whatever this creature was it did not seem a part of this planet. I have been trained to observe and report but even this was too terrifying to report. This creature did not appear to be fearful or afraid of my car at all. I was traveling at about 55mph and it was moving extremely fast.

@@bfreeman8786 So I was planted up in a tree stand with a rifle and a Flir scout because I hunt when it’s dark out in then morning but there’s some light that birds are about, so it just makes it easier to look for deer, while I was there about a good 35-45 mins of sitting there, that’s when everything went dead silent, and I started to have the back of my neck start to have the hairs rise up and I felt uneasy about everything at that point because I was alone and had no cell reception in a dense forest, then I started hearing branches break about 50-60 feet away from me, so I went to go look with my flir and it just would not turn on what’s so ever so I just sat there listening to this thing move and it sounded massive, I felt like it knew I was close by and was looking for me, so I stayed in the tree for another 40 mins till I no longer felt in danger and high tailed it through the woods for a good 3-4 miles to my truck, but while I was running it felt like something was off in the distance watching me. Other than that one time I never felt threatened ofc I live in Maryland where we do have black bears in a certain area but they normally don’t scare me at all so I shrug them off besides this time it felt like something else.

I grew up in the remote woods of Maine. I've been an outdoorsman since I could walk and have an intimate understanding of the wildlife. I'm an excellent tracker.
Without going into much detail, can say that my family and I saw lights similar to those that you describe on a winter's night in 1983. A group of friends and I also saw one of these creatures on a lonely road to Quebec in Northern Maine back in 1988.
I've always been sober and I don't have any mental illness. That said, the things that I have witnessed both in the woods and on the water along the coast in Maine would make a bald person's hair stand on end.
I've always been an atheist, but what I have seen during my lifetime, especially in the remote areas of Maine have convinced me that there is far more happening than we understand.

I remember some years ago I was walking home from work around 3am. The road I walked was surrounded by forest and not many lights. That night the forest went silent and I could have sworn I was being watched, so I hurried my pace and made it to a taco bell that a friend worked at. Thankfully they had a maintenance guy there so I ran up to there door and called out to him. He saw me run up and opened the door to let me in. Not even a second later a pack of wolves ran right up to the door. They had been following me for about 3-4 miles. A silent forest is not safe. My advice, get to shelter fast.

This story is giving me the worst case of anxiety 😅 I lived in the woods, in the mountains, in Washington. Our closest neighbor was 4-5 miles away. It was pitch black at night and sometimes I would get so bored, I would walk up our gravel driveway about 150 feet from the house and make a left onto a 2 lane mountain road that leads you straight to a river and bridge not incredibly far from the house. It was about 1/4 mile to the bridge. I would walk up this road in the middle of the night and as I looked off into the forest on each side of me, it was as if you were being watched. The trees looked like they moved and you always heard strange noises. That place was eerie.

How/why did they not just break the windows? That's the problem I have with all these close-call paranormal/UFO abduction stories. They're so fantastical in every which way except a few key ones. Like 8' tall monsters scratching at wooden doors but glass windows are somehow entirely anathema. Aliens travel whatever distance you want, from another planet or dimension, and are dumbfounded by things like humans feeling pain (Travis Walton recalling aliens apologizing to him for stabbing a needle into his leg), or various concepts that such beings should just be able to reason out (Betty Hill's discussions with the aliens onboard their craft seeming like a cultural exchange rather than an abduction). I don't know man. Maybe they just had neighbors that didn't like them and wanted to force them out.

    • @Yumiko-je1to
      @Yumiko-je1to 5 месяцев назад +18

Most animals don’t actually understand glass because it’s a clear thing that isn’t found in nature at all. Like birds can’t see glass which is why birds will try to fly through windows on people’s houses. Also the family had the windows covered so maybe the creatures didn’t realize that there was glass maybe they just thought it was a different colored wall. Or maybe they see in black and white and couldn’t make out the different colors so they just thought it was a normal wall.
And well I don’t believe most alien stories I do believe that initially aliens would try to learn about us not just murder people. Idk if you’ve seen it but MrBallen has a video about skinwalker ranch, which is ironic because if that story is true it sounds like aliens and not at all skinwalkers, but the creatures on skinwalker ranch would press their face against windows and look though them they also never tried to harm the people or get into the house. So I believe Aliens in these stories aren’t trying to destroy people but more so observe them.
Also about the pain thing I would imagine that aliens probably invented very advanced medical treatments maybe one of them is removing or highly limiting pain so that could explain why they’d be shocked about a human feeling pain. I mean we have medicine that removes and limits pain so it isn’t impossible for aliens to have a more advanced version.

Wood feels softer to them than a window. Yeah if they lunged into the window they could probably break it, but animals tend to use their claws to dig/burrow rather than use blunt force to knock things down. This is actually pretty consistent animalistic behavior. Throwing their bodies into a surface that to the touch feels harder than the wood would make no sense and could result in them causing harm to themselves.

I live in Mathews VA and this here kinda' puts some trails to what I saw back in July/August 2014. I was 17, had two buddies with me and went for a walk up to the good ole 711 from a place we all stayed at that summer. Took a back road walk on Seaford road to get there and it's a long stretch of gravel to the main road, and it's pitch black thanks to the covering of trees, we all agreed early we felt something watching us and we didn't pay it much mind really. Halfway down we for whatever reason could hear chains drag occasionally and then they semi skidaddled and I just kept walking normal. As I caught up at the end of the road, I came into some light from the street post and I was maybe 25-30 foot into the light, we all got a feeling to turn and look back and there was a 7.5-8ft tall wolf/coyote that had mint green jewel like eyes standing up walking towards the light and then got down and lowered it's head slowly into the light and we all ran after that. It was the most random thing but it was very real

@@Nothing-ru4ft Pretty easily, to be honest. It's the same reason why people can look pictures taken from the sky that show entirely normal land formations, and instead interpret them as buildings/structures that don't exist and create conspiracies about what they must be. The human mind instinctively looks for familiar patterns and shapes, and can often succeed in either convincing us that we've seen things that aren't there or severely exaggerating their features.
In the case of fear and anxiety, it's not terribly unusual for us to exaggerate the characteristics of something that we find threatening. Likely a leftover survival mechanism from a long time ago, when it was probably safer for Ug and Throg to interpret a predator as bigger than it is and run instead of underestimating it and trying to fight. Throw in low visibility due to limited light sources, and it's easy to mistake things around the predator (or even the predator's own shadow) as an actual part of said predator, thus making it appear far more massive in our mind's eye.
There's a good reason why anecdotal evidence - personal experiences, such as eyewitness accounts - is generally considered the weakest form of evidence. The human mind is an incredible thing, but it's also *very* flawed and easily capable of tripping itself up. After all, we're talking about the same brains that can make us do ridiculous shit like frantically turn a room inside out to find "lost" car keys that we're literally holding the whole time.

Second, how secure can you really make your weapons in a barn? If the safe isn’t properly anchored into concrete with Hilti anchors, anyone can take it.

I drove a dodge neon at the time... about a half mile from my grandparents house you go down a hill... at the bottom of the hill where it leveled out a wolf crossed the road right in front of me making me slam my brakes because I almost hit it.... but we dont have wolves in Tennessee, only coyotes, and they are small. This things head was taller than my car, and its body length was so long he crossed the road in a single stride, with his ears straight up, looking directly at me... like a dog circling prey... I immediately stopped as I passed and turned around to shine my headlights in the field it ran into and didn't see it again. But I will never forget that. I've never seen anything like it. @@alynaelder2186 absolutely no humanoid behaviour. Only moved around on all fours, stood only to get a better view/intimidate. It was an animal.

If anything I would keep my guns under my bad or in a closet or if had a handgun I would keep it in a drawer, the last place I would put my guns would be *MY FUCKING BARN*

When I lived in the bush I had a 12 gauge Winchester Defender with an 18 inch barrel, a taclite on it, and 3 inch hi-shok slugs, say what you like but I'd rather have a gun and not need one than need a gun and not have one...
