    Would you not need to set the velocities not to overlap? i.e. 1-39 40-79 -80-120 121+ otherwise you'll end up with both versions triggering at any of the in between points?

    How do I add a library of samples with multiple velocities? I have the circles samples library but it only works for 15 mins on kontakt until it says demo timed out.

    This is great! Q: Once i have the kit imported to Superior 3, how do I get the live kik to trigger a sampled kik? Maybe combine the two to make a natural punchy kik?

    Hi Trey:
    Great video. I added my own drum samples but they sound totally different once in SD3. Superior Drummer adds some kind of room sound or some kind of reverb to my samples. Do you know how to turn off the SD3 room sound or reverb that is being added to an imported sample so that sample actually sounds the way it was prior to importing into SD3???
    If anyone knows the answer I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

    Thanks for the vid man. It's already a long time ago but does have anyone an idea if you have just one sample but want make different loudness stacks?
    For example i have a linda rondstat snare sample. It has some issues concerning the velocity. I think it has to do with soft hit level parameters.

  • @MarkArandjus
    @MarkArandjus 6 лет назад +1

    Well that's great with the velocity layers, but doesn't it then sound a little machine gun-ish when doing rolls or blasts due to the lack of round robins? I'm legitimately asking :D
    Dunno why they didn't include that feature, seems kind of obvious. Thanks!

    • @treyxaviermusic
      @treyxaviermusic  6 лет назад

      Yeah it for sure will, but I mean, I think it's asking a lot to include round robin, this is already a pretty big step and there's a fuck ton of awesome new features in SD3 so I'm not gonna complain.

    • @timbeaton5045
      @timbeaton5045 6 лет назад

      Presumably you would have to load in a whole bunch of "exterior" samples to even be able to round robin them.If you do, is there a way to do that? Not bothered if there isn't, as there seems to be so much you can do with the available sounds, anyway. Looks like this is for those one-off additions, say, like a symphony of farts 💩 💨 💨 💨 💨

    At 6:25 you brought in a crash cymbal. I have done the same for a ride cymbal however, how do you get the cymbal to show up looking like a real metal cymbal rather than an electronic-looking pad?

  • @steadystate100
    @steadystate100 3 года назад +2

    A good start for Toontrack, but without round robin *within* velocity layering, not really useful. Good video though. Too bad Gigastudio died.

    • @Polentaccio
      @Polentaccio 3 года назад

      Def a feature missing but if you sampled a well hit crash three times, you could probably set them to trigger at velocities close to one another and have three diff hard hits and then go to each volume from there. Hard-m-light sort of deal. I just purchased SD3. Might play with that. I could see it being a workaround though. Blend it in with the generic sd3 cymbal that comes with whichever kit for consistency.

  • @xxGSII

    SD3 works best with triggers. GGD Invasion has some meaty sounding kits better than SD3. BUT GGD sucks when using triggers. SD3 edges out everything if you are using vdrums. straight up. im not a fan of the stock kits in sd3 however, i never had this technology growing up never existed. been playing 26 years. if you know how to engineer SD3 with other programs like cubase and reaper you can make magic and sound sick. This stuff is amazing even if your ears say it sounds fake.

    Hi Gear God, the stupidest question of the day in 3... 2...
    Will 3rd party samples played in SD3 appear in the OH and Ambient mics along with the rest of the native SD3 kit?
    Probably wishful thinking...

      It is the most impressive drum software I have ever encountered in twenty years of digital audio production. You'll be able to do fills that were never possible before if you blend the acoustic drums sounds with the electronic stuff. I've been producing a synthwave meets heavy rock project and blending acoustic variable velocity drum samples with the 80's-esque drum samples has opened a whole new world for that genre.

    Are you able to midi map on this? Or use it as a DAW, similar to Abelton Live??

    • @neonether
      @neonether 5 лет назад +1

      Yes. You can midi map, mix and post-process within the program, or route to your own DAW and run everything in the box that way.

    Hi Trey, love your tutorials👍🏾. I play on a TD 50 kit ( please feel free to watch my YT channel). For my personal Yt videos I use the TD 50 sounds. For studio purposes the Sup Dr. 3. Recently I started doing the adjusting myself. 👉🏼I Il have a question about a certain Sup dr 3 kit I adjusted for a project. After adjusting I realised that I miss 4 extra instruments on this sup dr kit, the UK Pop EZX. So is it possible to add extra instruments? ( not stacking). And how do I do that? Appreciate it.
