Thank you for the video. What I am curious about is if a drum midi file includes data of the intended drum? Typically, a drum midi file include many drum parts being played simultaneously, like kick, snare, tom and cymbal. You can import a drum part from a company that manufactures them, throw them into a drum program (Ableton, which I use, features hundreds of different drum kits). Sometimes there are parts that will show in Ableton not as instruments but as the name of a note (technically, every drum sound in a midi file belongs to a separate instrument). Sometimes it won't say "snare" or whatever, it will simply play on a note like G3 or A4. That doesn't tell you what the INTENDED instrument was supposed to be. If I knew the intended instrument, I could even replace it with another sample if I wanted a better sounding one than the one in my digital kit, but without knowing the intended instrument, that can be hard to do. Any ideas?
Hi. Thanks for doing this. I’m new to EZ drummer 2. I saw that Devin Townsend uses it so i checked it out . I already got an couple EX packs but they are expensive. I customized a kit and now just needed midi data for some inspiration. This video is awesome ! Much appreciated.
I have 2 Yamaha DTXpress set up as one large kit just like the SD one shown, all note #'s are different BUT snare is seen as kick and others are also wrong. Is there a mapper utility for Reaper or SD?
Do you know the reason why after importing some midi groove from SD3 Death library into my DAW, some hihat notes are shifted to toms? I dont know it like wrong export setting of hihat
Unfortunately when you import exported midi from gp7, by a daw or sd3 editor all the tracks are messed up, kick becomes tom, snare a cymbal and so on. Moreover when you have a track with tempo and time signatures changes these informations are lost in the SD3 editor as well as in cubase and studio one. All fine in digital performer, reaper has other issues instead.
I've just started using the MT drum software, and it's inaudible even after increasing the velocity. Do I need to lower the decibels of my guitar tracks?
It doesn't work for me. I created my MIDI with EZD2 and dropped it into SD3. If the kits are different there is no way to adjust the difference. When I moved them over to SD3 the cymbals you can't hear... when I cranked them in SD3 to adjust the velocity it did nothing. The guys at Toontrack couldn't even help me other than to say my kit needs to be the same in both, which isn't possible. I'm not too happy about it. Oh well.
I get the majority of my tabs from ulimate-guitar.com. When you find a tab, the download button is near the bottom of the page kind of hidden. It's kinda hard to find.
Im not positive but i would guess if you open addictive drums it makes an addictive drums track. Once you have that then i would drag the midi file onto that track. If that doesnt work you might try importing the midi track into your project. It should automatically create its own midi track. Then on that midi track set your output to addictive drums. Thats usually the way it works. If you have a grid function, set that up first and when you copy the file to create a long song form, everything should be on grid and in time. Hopefully.
its called "How to import tracks" . . and you say "I just go find the file " , but you DONT say HOW . . . that was the bit you are supposed to mention . . HOW . . I have no idea what button you pressed to do this , because you didnt say. . .
I appreciate you taking the time. Super clear. Easy to get you. I was up and running in under five. Thank you.

This is great. Very well explained.
Thank you so much for this helpful video! Love the editing as well! Very fun to watch and learn.
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing this info!
Just a quick tip.
You can just solo the drum track and export as midi.
No need to delete all the other tracks

Is there any way to save midi files to the superior libraries. So I won't have to open a bunch of files everytime, ty !!

Hi. Can you do it backwards? Import MIDI drums to Guitar Pro?

Cool , I have been thinking of going this route for a while with Drums as Our Drummer really is too busy to get into a band, Thanks
i realize I am kind of off topic but does anyone know of a good website to stream newly released movies online?
@Tristian Brixton I watch on FlixZone. You can find it on google =)
Dumb question but...how do you get the tab so you can input it? I sub to Ultimate Guitar Pro and can't find a download tab or anything. Thanks man
