    I'm not trying to criticize and I'm certainly not a fanboy of pushrod LS engines, but after comparing them and stating that they were comparable in weight with the 3 rotor being just a bit lighter, you stated that the 20B could kick the LS6's ass. But in stock form a little googling led me to find that the the 20B produced 300 HP with 10 lbs of boost but the LS6 produces a minimum of 385 HP with no forced induction. I think it's also well known that rotary engines consume a lot of fuel, so I don't think that is kicking ass. Especially since the LS6 could still be force fed to increase it's numbers just like the rotary could. To make a fair comparison I think both engines would have to be in a similar state. It would be more accurate to say that PER LITER of displacement, the rotary kicks ass. That seems fair. Am I missing something or are you indeed being a fanboy?
    Again, nothing against the rotary. I love the small size and light weight, but in this case that doesn't seem to be the advantage.

      The 3rotor with turbo around 400lbs...
      Taking that package, the 3r wins - this is what he did say; also he did mention, that you can do forced induction on the LS but that will add weight as you need additional oil cooler, turbo(s), piping aso....

    The question I have, is can you make a rotary as reliable, or last as long as an LS?

    • @adamwainwright9658
      @adamwainwright9658 2 года назад

      Yes, it's possible. All depends on the way the engine is used and the maintenance you provide.. If you drive like a dickhead and don't look after your engine, it doesn't matter if it's a rotary, a LS or a Detroit diesel, it will fail...

    Hello,
    You think it's possible to put a 3 N/A rotor on a RX-8? (and how much horse power to expect?)
    Thanks ;)

      @howdydoesit6890 5 лет назад

      Check out Defined Autoworks. They got a N/A 3 rotor peripheral port making 475 to the wheel. Streetable power, half bridge with Rx8 10:1 rotors, milled for rx7 seals. Probably 400 wheel. As for putting it in the Rx8, you got $50k?

    • @ldorman
      @ldorman 5 лет назад

      Considering that the 13b/20b engines are totally different to a Renesis, not to mention the engine harness aso.
      Do you want to have the electrics in the car working as from the factory? - if yes, you might in the $40k to $50k region.
      Here in the UK, RX8 cost pretty much nothing, the other day I found one for £500 with the good old hot/cold issue - and 13b raceport rotary engines you can get from 1.5k upwards - but when I checked the work what the built involves and considering I have a 40hrs job and also like my other hobbies... I stuck to my BMWs - they fast too.

      Damn straight. Ive had a rotary 13b and I loved that engine. But unless You have a bunch of money and can do it all yourself(minus the machine work, engine building) its 5 times the cost to build a rotary especially reliably. Idk what Rob says. Ask him how much he spent on on that engine? At the end of the day numbers don't lie. How many LS Based engine ares there? Thanks to E85/ turbo tech/apex seal tech and tuning rotarys are way more kickass nowadays. Id love to have one if I wasn't always thinking about best bang for buck!

I have access to a 3d printer and want to actually see the prints side by side. Or does anyone know what the rotation offset per rotor added is? Like what would a theoretical 5 or 6 rotor e-shaft look like?
