@@Endgameeffcee I don't think that W16 POS is THAT expensive. Considering W12 engines are super cheap, the w16 is probably just some extra reinforced crap and four more cylinders.
I'm not too sure about Heat. Just watching the trailer for it, it feels like they're stuck in the 00's and they're trying to be edgy. It's almost the 20's now, and that style just does not work anymore. Hopefully gameplay is good and the entire game isn't just a massive cringefest.
There is a fine line between deranged and genius pursuits, and this gentleman is clearly intending to cha cha real smooth all over that line with wreckless abandon. What a time to be alive.
I've never understood why rotaries have intake and exhaust on the side. You have to then have this big intake manifold that wraps over the engine, then a big exhaust manifold, that has to wrap around the intake manifold, if you're using a turbo. Why not rotate the engine to have the ports on top, then you wouldn't have giant manifolds to deal with. All the tubes would be shorter and more compact, and a turbo manifold should be simpler too. I realize this creates issue with spark plugs, as they're now under the engine, where the oil pan would be, but this is easily fixed with a custom pan that has cutouts for where the plugs go, and changing plugs would then have to be done from under the engine. Routing the wires for the plugs would work similarly, with a negative space in the pan to allow for wire routing. But having the ports up top just seems simpler. This design change would also make the block slightly wider, rather than taller, which would make the block more square, and overall shorter, with manifolds and the pan on, when compared to the typical design. This would lower CG slightly, and the design might reduce weight from the reduction in the amount of pipes on the manifold. I also think it'd have a cleaner look in the end.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't the plugs being at the bottom make them foul easier? Because when the engine is not running, fuel/oil mixture will collect right where the plugs are, and make it difficult to get spark. I did see that happen in a 2-stroke that had the cylinder pointed down, but would a car with its way more powerful ignition system suffer from this?
Didn't even think about this. You'd have to find a way to drain the oil, old aircraft radial engines would be rotated backwards before start to allow the oil in the bottom cylinder to drain through the ports, but obviously this isn't possible for a rotary. I wonder if you could just shorten the intake and exhaust, and just have it on the side then? Or would that get too unbalanced on that side? Guess there's no good way of doing this, until we either get newer ignition technology like plasma nanopulses, or someone wants to play around with highly experimental designs with a lot of R&D money.
60k dollars for this meanwhile i just bought a 632ci v8 with 800hp for 13k dollars. Yeah ok v8 for the win. Im gonna make two 632 together make a mid engine v16 chevelle 1600hp
