In 1961 I was on a trip to Alaska in a 2 year old 1960 Ford Ranch Wagon, 292 2-barrel 3 speed on the tree and pulling a 24’ Airstream travel trailer from Cleveland Ohio. On the way home, in Yukon Territory the water pump started having trouble cooling the engine. We were basically in BFE with no towns within about 90 miles. There was no water leaking so I figured it might be leakage internally. We pulled into a rest area & I made a spray bar from a piece of copper tubing just drilling holes down one side. I Hooked it up horizontally across the radiator & was able to connect the windshield washer line to it. That got us about 110 miles to an autoparts store using about 2 gallons of water. Mad props to Isaiah and Ethan for this one. Rob too, of course. But what are essentially still just kids in the race/fab world and building a car that just did that one the first try up the rock is just nuts. The crazy amount of sponsor and product/gear support certainly doesn't hurt, but I think it's those two that deserve the biggest bonus ever for this.
This. Literally goes to show that anyone, can do what they set their mind too! You go dahm. I’m a fan and have been for some time, it’s excellent what you do for the Mazda rotary community. I watched you during a couple practice sessions but unfortunately I couldn’t make the actual race day. I have a newfound respect for you Rob. A lot of people dream about racing the mountain, and you made it a reality. 30 years going to pikes peak and it never fails to amaze me how big the balls are on people that attempt to conquer the rock. Anyone who even tries is a total rockstar in my opinion.

honestly watching any project from rob is like watching a amazing film, and this one was a infinity war level one. seeing the car growing and improving along with the team and the driver is such a magical moment, it has been such a amazing honor just to see this go though. I have been obsessed with rotoarys starting a couple years ago and this Chanel no matter the day puts a smile on my face. thank you so much Rob Dahm
Watching you and this car grow from the "What it's like owning a 3 rotor RX-7" days to now has been inspiring to say the absolute least! Congrats man, absolutely killing it!
Wow man, couldn't be happier for you, followed you since the start of the 4 rotor build and i'm just astonished at what you have learned and achieved. You are a true inspiration to all.
You know they say it takes a village to raise a kid. Apparently it also takes a village to get Rob up the hill 😂Massive congrats, the dedication and perseverance of Robs team is unmatched. Thanks for sharing it with us all.
One of the most passionate internet persons I know of. The Pikes Peak saga has been nothing short of a total adventure. Rob truly has an infectious amount of passion for racing. I’m just glad we get to watch!
You just keep crushing it... doing a bit more, a bit better - the result is so well deserved.
At least 1 of those 1104 shirts is headed to South Africa
Absolutely well do e mate! You and the team are going places!..... also can't get enough of the transmission sounds! So visual!
I just finished the 68 minutes video.
You guys done it, and it was amazing.
I think the pressure/rush also caused a lot of mishaps like forgetting to tighten the battery ground, and designed the e-gate not being cooled properly.
We here in CO welcome you with open arms man, just treat Pikes with respect and you'll get great times. No evo corner shenanigans. I was out of the country for this year but am looking forward to seeing you full send next year. Stay safe and best wishes 🫰🏼
From getting passed by a mini van to now racing pikes peak. This is truly inspiring! Love how far this 3 rotor has come!
I love how to this very day there is no chance that a Rob Dahm video is going to have some sort of actual end scene whatsoever. Just... it ends abruptly. Like "Okdonebye."
Never change, Rob Dahm. Never change. :)
Oh, and yes, absolutely what an achievement by the entire team and all the helpers that helped along the way! Way to go!
This is the first time I'm crying watching a man race a car and do what he loves on youtube, and it won't be the last! Rob Dahm you're an inspiration to so many young people to do what you love at 100%! I'll be watching you til the day I die. Much love from PA!
I know it doesn’t mean much but as an almost 5 year supporter of Rob. It’s amazing what he’s willed and worked into existence.
It’s a proud moment as a channel for sure.
You got a solid team Rob. Take care of them.
I love seeing a group of people who share the same passion get together, talking shop, swapping ideas and tips, helping each other out.
Congrats dude. So stoked to see all this dedication continuing to pay off and glad you got to do something you truly wanted to do!
53:50 "I paid for that entire road, I'm gonna use that entire road." Badass!
I wish I could give you a hug, you sound so emotional in that voice over. You did it! Congratulations team Dahm. I made sure to order my shirt as soon as the video went live and I saw the ad!
Love watching these long episodes. After time of hearing about Rob, I finally came to check him out and his channel IS WORTH IT. Kind of reminds me of an independent TV motorsports show
11:00 got that Inital D Hakone fog setting 🔥
I had to watch the full race and it was amazing, from your pov it’s definitely something to say when you see those inclines! What a step towards the future brotha!
Congratulations, Rob. That was some truly incredible driving, and I'm grateful you took us all along with you.
In the 70's my father and I would watch the Pike's Peak races. It is rewarding for me, as a viewer, to see all of your hard work pay off.
That was the fastest I've ever bought a T-Shirt! Haha thanks rob, I will cherish it forever 😁
Your comment was the first recommended one as soon as I opened the video, you got me to go straight to buying it 3 seconds into the video 😅
@EasilyToxic I got my shirt! I'm working away from home and my wife opened the package and she said I have #1 out of 1104. Did you get yours?
@@azthar I did, yeah, but haven't opened it yet 😅
@azthar I just opened mine, i was really curious to see which number mine was but mine also says "1 of 1104" So I don't think it's a specific number that each of ours has, it's just saying that it's one of them. Still an awesome shirt 😍
@EasilyToxic ahhhh OK that's what I was kinda wondering about lol. I have some collectible items that have marked 1-1500 and my watch is #246. I thought it was too good to be true to have the first one 😅 but regardless still an awesome shirt
Infinite number of congratulations to you, Rob, and the team on completing your first ever Pikes Peak. The hard work, the dedication, and the absolute grind from all of you is inspiring and you all deserve the success from pulling off one hell of an accomplishment.
I cannot wait to see how much better the car gets and how much better you get.
You 100% have it in you to achieve fastest rotary.
So awesome to see! Glad to see all that insane work pay off for the team!
You know, twice now I have seen this video through to the end, and it has brought me to tears watching you guys see through such an accomplishment that you've set out to do. I am so Dahm proud! Looking forward to the next time you race. Keep it up, and if your rookie races are as good as you drove on Pikes Peak, then your going to be an amazing racer. Definitely am a Dahm fan for life!
And good to know after reading everyone else's comments I'm not the only one who shed a tear! 🥹
Started watching, paused, ordered shirt, pressed play and watched the rest 😂 Nice job on Pikes Peak!!!
I love it Rob, this was amazing and Im so happy that you got to do this! Im a bit jelly hahaha
“ wow, your engine is so loud!” The transmission: “pfft, hold my beer…..”
i haven't watched your videos for like more than a year, and seeing you running up pikes peak just makes me so happy, congratulations!
Got-a-shirt-before-they-sold- out gang! 🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️
2 minutes into the upload I hat a shirt ordered lol. Thank you RUclips notifications haha
This is incredible. To go out to Pikes Peak on your first year and actually complete a run is astonishing, especially when the car is something that’s almost entirely original and fabricated in-house by a small team. I’m glad I came back to check on your channel after seeing a short about the 12 rotor
Sniped a shirt early. It looks so good. Can't wait to get it
I could help but smile throughout the whole run. Seeing how far you have come as a builder and a driver. You have really become a certified driver!!!
If there's anyone who deserves it. Its you. That was a legit race man. And a dahm good drive.
Congrats Rob, truly happy to see the rx7 make it up one of the highest peaks and beat record time for rx7.Truely amazed with the hard work and dedication. Cant wait to see you beat your record time next year.
Rob this is a testament to your commitment, drive, and sheer will to achieving this great accomplishment. Very proud to have seen this happen!! ❤
So how long is the list of things to fix, change, improve and upgrade for next year. 1:08:12 and that is the nest ending to a pikes peak video.
This. Literally goes to show that anyone, can do what they set their mind too! You go dahm. I’m a fan and have been for some time, it’s excellent what you do for the Mazda rotary community. And the dream of yours deserved to come true, you can say you officially made it up pikes peak, I know this and I say it with no ill intent. Ken Would Be So Stoked to Witness This moment in time. 🙏
I fucking LOVE going from Rob explaining things like a damn engineer, to the cut of Isaiah Goin "the pumps fucked up" 37:53
Beyond words for the excitement that you brought to all of us. Not only should you proud to be the fastest Rx7 up Pikes Peak but you should also take in all the emotions of how proud we all are for you Rob
Isaiah out here looking like Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride, can we get him saying "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die""
link me lol
Nah, you could see Inigo Montoya’s chin bro.
That was absolutely incredible-everything from the build, to the practice, last-minute mods and improvements, to the driving. You should be proud!!! And you've won the respect of everyone.
Rob's a friggen boss, do anything you set your mind to, just be safe lol.
rob is also 100% backed up by Eziekel and crew and they are a critical part of all of this
i had the biggest stupidest smile on my face the whole time and to be a rookie team going up the mountain and overcoming the issues that arise is a testament to the work you boys put in. Congrats, you guys truly deserve it. CANT WAIT to see next year it'll definitely be insane
WHAT A SHOT.... 59:44
Totally, that was my favorite shot of the whole run! Absolutely beautiful.
I legitimately teared up watching you finish the run. So DAHM proud of you Rob (&the boys). Watching you over the years pour your blood, sweat, & tears into this automotive passion pursuit has been one of the most motivational & inspiring things I have ever followed online ever. Congratulations! ❤
If Mazda doesn't give this man a call after this they're complete fools.
I absolutely adore pike's peak. This is going to be one of my favorite videos ever
When I heard in your voice how much this meant to you, it brought tears to my eyes! You did great Rob and we are all so very proud of you! And I KNOW you are too! Can’t wait to see what the future brings! 😎
Keep it up!
-Huge fan from Norway 🇳🇴
I give it up to anyone that races up pikes peak. Driving up the mountain is sketchy at normal speeds so ive got mad respect for you Rob!
I was interested in rotary engines in the past, but after following you and your great adventure with your projects I started loving it. Thanks a lot for your passion doing it. I wish you a lot of success in the future.
wasnt this the same dude who was like "can i do pikes peak with sim?!" i saw a clip on instagram and here he is after i forget about him. god, good work bro, i genuinely respect anyone who even gets to participate as the amount of work is a fraction of the footage seen on youtube, keep it up!
I love rob's attitude towards life, his ability to do anything he puts his mind to and his humbleness even with the wealth and success he has. Truly a great guy from what i can see.
Congratulations Rob and team. What an epic journey and time attack run. Was tense the whole run, can sense the adrenaline, fear, speed and all emotions rolled into one. Fantastic video
What a truly wonderful wonderful experience thank you so Much for sharing this with us following. I hope this video does really well and remunerates you enough to cover at least some of the expenses 😊
Words can’t describe how proud and in awe we all are of you and your team’s achievements Rob. I’m not even a ‘rotary guy’ however, what you guys prove possible time and again, is simply amazing. Filming is also next level here, despite the end camera failures, you’re dealing with a very harsh environment after all. Top effort to you all and thoroughly enjoyed your video man, you all deserve the praise!
Rob I'm very proud of you bro. Well done.
I have a friend Chris and he was the head mechanic for the pikes peak escudo monster back in the 90s. Many people have not only not succeeded the mountain, they donated their lives in a quest to conquer it!
Congratulations man. Love seeing your genuine character. I felt your excitement like a child
Thank you so much for taking us on this amazing adventure with you and your team, Rob. You are one of the most genuine people I've had the pleasure to watch or know. Congrats - well earned
Seeing your passion and work ethic grow into massive success has been amazing and keeps pushing me to be better. Thanks for sharing with us Rob, and it was great meeting you up at the mountain… keep me in mind if ya ever need another hand.
Not saying you are not a pro driver, get a pro driver and go test, it will give you better data and more constancy and help you dial in the car even more. Then when you are driving it, you know you are getting the max and it will push you. What you have done Rob is F-ing amazing! seriously!!
Thank you Joel for capturing this for us in such great detail.
Just that look on your face when you said "I'm about to race up pike's peak" is every reason to watch. I've been watching your cars for years now, and I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see you take on Pike's Peak.
