Quite frankly, this is a piece of furniture that we never would of looked at for a makeover, but what are we to do when presented with a challenge? We learned a lot as we worked on this dresser makeover, and we also have to give a big thank you to @HensonHomeFurnishings for helping us through the challenge of stripping the finish off of this beast!
Also to @reconstructing Emily for sending us the hardware from our Amazon wish list! What an unexpected surprise that really was a great final touch on this true trash to treasure find! Thank you Emily!

What beautiful color choices that ugly duckling sure did grow into a beautiful Swan...WOW 👏
Thanks Donyna! It was a lot of work, but well worth the end result!😀
Such a beautiful swan piece now 😍🦢
I’ll never look at plungers the same way 😂💕👍🏽😊
Thanks Ursula!😀
I LOVE THE BEAUTIFUL RENOVATION YOU TWO DID!!!
💖💖💖💖💖
Thank you!!
Oh this turned out so well!! Fresh and modern, love it. The hardware just pops on this piece
Thanks so much!
I’m so glad the kleanstrip and acetone worked for y’all! This piece is unrecognizable! Y’all did an amazing job! I love the new pulls. Beautiful job!! ❤️

@@FurnitureWarriors 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️👍🤩
I watch 100’s of these videos & you’ve shown me something new for the first time in ages. The rebuild with bondo on the top was brilliant.
I love the way this turned out. I love the color and the handles. I would never believed how it started out. Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much!
I'm always nervous when folks start sanding old paint without doing a lead test first. Very thoughtful of you preserving the integrity of the locks as best you can.
Agreed! Thanks!
How do you do a lead test?
@@rosiesaunders3334 You have to buy them - I've only seen then available online. They're usually pretty simple to use, mostly just a swab test
I was so worried that it was lead paint because it was so stubborn, this couple is too amazing to have anything bad happen to them!
Perfect pairing of sage green and white. Nice to see Cindy and you inspiring others to revive pieces at home. Great job in pulling this together. The drawer pulls are fantastic. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
Thank you so much!
Lots of hard work on this piece but it paid off, you did a fab job on it, it looks brand new and unique, lovely colour too. Thumbs up! 😊👍👍👍
Thanks so much 😊
Amazing transformation. Definitely went from the ugly duckling to the beautiful swan. Great idea putting those screws in the corner repair. Really makes sense that it will give it that much more strength and less likely to be pulled off or damaged when lifting the dresser. Also great idea stuffing the paper in the key holes. Thanks for the video, really enjoyed watching it.
Thanks JoAnn!
I really like the leather pulls! It sets that piece off perfectly! If it were mine, I wouldn't be getting rid of it anytime soon. Very cool!
Thanks Jeff!
Love the Bondo tip! Those drawer pulls are super awesome!!
Thank you Cassandra!
I love the old hardware on it. Very good idea with that bondo. It's a pretty piece of furniture.
Thanks Kathy!
Those plungers!!! Brilliant! Ps. Love the quacking throughout.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Wow!! What a fantastic turnout. You had a lot of work to do with this piece. You'd never imagine where it came to now. Also the plunger idea, genius. Thanks for another great project. 🤗

Thanks Nancy!
I love the tips you provide. Great job with the dresser.

Gorgeous transformation, Jim and Cindy! and I loved the bondo edge construction. Lots of patience with this piece....
Thanks so much! More patience than you know...🤣
I cannot believe the transformation. This is awesome.
Thanks Stella!
I have never seen a piece that has been brought back from the dead. I have worked on some bad pieces, but this piece was WAY beyond. You guys did a beautiful job. I really like the handle design! That was something original.
It'll be awhile before we take on a piece like this again......Thanks! (We are now in recovery mode🤣)

I feel like that piece was a secret ugly duckling! it didn’t look super terrible on camera until all those layers were visible 🤯 you did great work! loved the DT hack and the screw tip for the bondo!
We didn't realize the extent of this until we got it home to work on it! Yikes!😃
Good tip with the screws. Thanks so much. Lovely as always.
Thanks Teresa!
You guys are so smart! Discovered you via the Ugly Duckling challenge and now I’m hooked 😉
Thanks much!!! Glad to have you!
I hope others see how to apply bonds, and the right tool to use…I see so many using a stirring stick…love watching your team at work. Beautiful results of your ugly duckling.
Thanks! We always mix our bondo with the spreader. We feel the mix is more consistent.
So beautiful!!!! Way to go, great job!!
Thank you so much!!😀

Thanks Sharalee!

Thanks!
@@FurnitureWarriors where are you in the country? You may have mentioned this in your other videos or may want privacy- which I can understand. Thank you again.
We are in the western suburbs of Chicago.
@@FurnitureWarriors brother was in Hyde Park near U Of Chicago. Sister in Law and family still there. Stay cool.
Fantastic job! It definitely is a swan now. Those handles are just what this piece needed. And, using the screws as rebar for the bondo is genius!
Sometimes things like using the screws to secure the bondo just comes from experience.....Ask us how we know that.🤣. Thanks!
The handles were completely unexpected. Nice, unique touch. You two quack me up!! 😂 🦆
Thanks!🦆🦆
Wonderful job you two! The piece is fully protected and re-newed now! Prep work was spot on. Very beautiful dresser could be for a guy or girls room
We were thinking it could also be used as a small buffet, or an entry table, so many uses! Thanks!
That poor dresser started out in such a sorry state and you made it something worth having in today's world. I love seeing such solid, (though tragic), pieces given new life. Don't think you could have done any better than what you did. Bravo!
Thanks!!😀
Y'all are so funny! Beautiful swan!
What can we say? Thanks!😁
Great result! I love the imaginative hardware treatment. You found that swan hidden within.
Thanks! 😀
Strong contender, I like the fact you are both in this together, and you both have your strong points. Your wife is a wonderful painter, and you seem to have some good ideas. Ended up very nice and should be in the top of the list maybe the very top, I haven't watched them all yet, but am getting close. I like how you gave shout outs when necessary and love the thinking outside the box with the plunger handles. Good all round team, nice job.
We appreciate that! Thanks!
What a beautiful job!
Thank you! 😊
I think you guys will win the ugly ducking challenge. Good job. Love the pulls.
Thanks Jill! We hope we win too!😀
awesome save! the handles/drawer pulls are the best
Thanks Nina!
Really enjoy your little tips. Means we learn from your experiences. Thank you.
Glad you like them!😀
that's turned out amazing guys!! love the colour and you pair quack me up
Thanks Twitch!🦆🦆🦆🦆
Nice job! One of the nicer pieces I've seen on here. Great attention to detail. Nice to see someone at work who knows what a tape measure is for 😉👍. Have a great day!
Thank you very much!
That was a wonderfully idea with the screws and bonds !
Thanks Ann!😀
Wow! How many coats of paint did that piece have!? I think the final coat, that yucky brown, was a very popular technique in the late 70's early 80's. I think it was called "antiqued". Love the use of the plungers!!
It had 4 previous coats. We just couldn't do it again without stripping most of it off! Thanks!
Nice work and cool drawer pulls!
Thanks Caty!
WOW! THIS JUST KEPT GETTING UGLIER AND UGLIER, BUT THEN IT HAPPENED! THE SWAN APPEARED! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks! We felt that way too as we were working on it!😀
oh my goodness this is so beautiful, wow those handles are amazing
Thank you so much! We wanted something different......
Love those handles! The whole piece looks great!
Thanks so much!
Love this flip guys! So creative from bindi to handles!
Thanks so much!😀
Love the drawer pulls.
Just wanted to do something different! Thanks!!!!
This is terrific! A brand new life for this sad old piece. Two special things I want to say - I love your generosity to other RUclipsrs. Thanks for recognizing them so they get some views. And a huge thank you for that great Bondo hack! I have a piece of furniture I am rescuing and this hack solves a huge problem for me! Thank you!🌸
We treasure the relationships we have with many other RUclipsrs that do furniture makeovers. We are all helping each other whenever we can, and we have learned a lot from many of them! The bondo hack really does work well! Thanks!
What a great idea with the drawer pulls and love the colors. It would be nice in a child's room or add some legs/ or feet to it for any room use. So happy I found you guys! Have a blessed day 🌹
Thanks Kimberly!
Wow, this thing had some layers! Good tips on the stripper, thanks for passing that on. Also, using screws as rebar in the Bondo is genius! Gotta love finds like that at the dollar store, super cool hardware 🪠 This piece is stunning!
Thanks Jenn!
You two are such a sweet couple. I love your video’s and I’m gobsmacked on how good your flips are👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💖
Thanks Suzie!
Wow! You guys are really great! I loved the toilet plunger twist! Seriously I learned a lot from your video. I appreciate you taking the time to explain the "Bondo" method especially. You knocked it out of the park with the drawer pulls! I'll check out more of your videos soon... And dude, you 2 deserve a table saw, or better yet a miter saw!!
Thanks! I'm sure we be getting more tools as time goes on!😀
I love your innovative approach to this sad piece. And I really like how all you diyer’s share info. Good job!
Thank you so much!
That turned out very well. Bravo.
Thanks Chanda!

Thanks Claudine!
Beautiful work, you guys.
Thank you so much 😀
That was such a good tip putting the screws to strengthen that corner. That handles with plungers ( would have never thought of it) really turned out amazing 🤩
Thanks Maria!
Really like the color. Cleaver idea to fix the top. Love the handles. Very nice.
Thanks Lydia!
I love that green! I was looking at the container to see what color/brand and saw Amish Potato Salad and had to stop and think what color potato salad was... LOL!! (It really was a duh moment.)
Sorry about that! The paint is Fresh Sage from Rethunk Junk. The drawers were Cotton. Thanks for watching!😁
That, my friends, is “antiquing” from the 1970s. It was a two part paint that you then streaked gold lacquer over, and my mom did my entire bedroom set. Very groovy. Then, she helped me strip that same bedroom set 25 years later, and oh, my, it was some serious work!
Until now, we still didn't know what that was. Thanks for the information! Not sure if we would attempt another piece with that "antiquing". It really was a pain to remove!😄
You did a fantastic job on this, looks great. This is what 90% of my projects look like when i find them.
Wow, thanks! It's a lot of work, yes?😁
I learned a few tricks to add to my bag- fabulous job guys ♥️
Thanks Sarah!😀
I really like this! Great work!
Yay, thank you!
