  • I remember watching this with my late grandmother back in 1994, it was sad to see Larry looking so ill but his humour was never up for question. It came as a total shock when he passed away not long after this was shown on TV.
This was taken from a vhs recording I took so for something that was recorded 27 years ago I was pleased at how well it turned out.
DISCLAIMER........ I do not own the rights to this show that was shown on TV in the UK.

I find myself blessed to be 59, and to have come up through my years watching so many of our great British comedians and entertainers in the 60's, 70's and 80's, many of whom we will never see their like again, just brilliant. RIP Larry x

He died just 4 weeks later. A lovely chap. This last performance was so good. His act didn’t age, the asides are still so funny. God bless him.

I just watched that too and, sadly, I have to agree with them. His timing isn't as sharp, and that was a big part of his act.

He used to drink in many of the clubs of Nuneaton and entertain everyone on his nights off.......not an inkling of "I'm famous"..... never heard anyone with a bad word about the guy....... and never any of the miners , foundry workers, brickies or the Coventry car factory workers ever taking exception to his entertainment

I think people willed him to succeed, even if he wasn't as polished as before. He bucked the trend in an age when life was faster, expectations became higher and the patience threshold became less. A genuine man, whose comedy came from his life experiences, non-threatening: a unique individual. ruclips.net/video/_lotGzFaRbY/видео.html

I’d give anything to happen upon a time-slip, finding myself back in the days before the lunacy we’re now dealing with - 1960/70/80s please take me back, let me get stuck there, when comedy was truly funny, before the perma-offended took over our entire lives.
Larry Grayson was the best, the older I get, the more I miss him…❤
