Mrs. Beigel, your words are not ugly. You’re speaking the truth! Be assured there is one inmate that has compassion for the beautiful lives taken, the survivors and the families. There is one inmate who is filled with as much disgust and anger as the rest of us! At least one! I support you. My heart has love for all of you. Scott’s face and name will never be forgotten, nor will the 16 other beautiful angels. We might not know you all personally, but our hearts are shattered. From, Michigan 💜🙏🏻

If an inmate takes him out it won't be out of compassion. It'll be because he's an equal sociopath. It's unlikely somebody who isn't serving life will take him out because they want to serve their sentence and be free. If someone takes him out it'll be another lifer who is probably in there for doing something almost as heinous. Best hope is that evil kills evil.

With all due respect, she said it in the interview: "look at the facts...you're not supposed to put in your own feelings." In justice, vengance has no place and that's something the defense told the jury "don't make a decision based on what the families want". No verdict was going to give anyone what they wanted: their loved ones back, their pain taken away, peace of mind... that's never going to be obtained in a court of law with crimes like this one. There's still no apropriate punishment for this, not life or death. But wanting "someone" to murder him in prison is agreeing that murder is an option in our society. I'm not going after her, I'm just saying words matter and speaking with anger is never the right choice. I'm sorry for her loss and I do wish there was anything that could give her peace, but this is not it.

As a psychotherapist I 100% agree with this mother. Mental illness does NOT make you murder people. Lots of kids have fetal alcohol syndrome and they don’t murder people. Lots of people have even worse traumatic childhoods than him and they don’t go on to murder people. He was planful in actions, his brain showed executive functioning by him planning everything out, and he was methodical in his behavior as he was murdering everyone he could. He showed the classic signs of psychopathathy in childhood. Society, and the law, needs to be educated on the behaviors of psychopathathy, narcissism, and anti-social personality disorder. The court needs to start having psychologists run assessments on these people because the majority of violent people have these personality disorders. We have testing for this. They are at a much higher risk for being violent and acting on their homicidal thoughts. Personality disorders are not in the same category as having PTSD from trauma or depression or any other mental health condition. Their propensity for violence is at the core of their being. We have the death penalty for a reason. The court and those jurors did not serve these families justice. Shame on all of them. On top of immense grief, the families now have to process immense anger from this injustice. I’m disgusted at this outcome and for the behaviors of his defense attorney and the jurors who put their personal feelings and beliefs over facts and following the law.

As she said, even those who don’t agree with the victims’ emotional, visceral reaction to this judgment, there is no way to argue that intellectually and legally this ruling makes any sense. The path to capital punishment in FL is set with levels and questions that must all be given a unanimous yes in order to move forward with considering the death penalty. However, when all these factors are unanimously agreed upon, when the defense failed to prove its case, when the defense attorneys did not execute their jobs properly, there is no legal justification to vote against capital punishment. Voting yes on everything else, except on the LAST step of whether the aggravating factors outweigh the mitigating factors makes no legal sense. If everything else is a yes, legal justification calls for a yes at the end. Unless the decision was not a legal decision, and a “I can’t punish someone for taking a life by taking a life” in which case that person lied under oath to sit on this jury. The defense argued so strongly that the jury was tainted, and in fact they were. Those jurors should be punished accordingly for perjury, and the verdict thrown out. The State here is represented by arguably the best prosecutor south FL has seen, Mike Satz who came out of retirement solely to prosecute this case. They will continue fighting their case at the sentencing hearing and will not let go of the legal mistakes made here. The fact that the state after a verdict is already interviewing jurors is unprecedented yet only underscores how erroneous and perplexing this decision was.

Death penalty is wrong in all cases. Don't ever give me jury duty on a case with that potential outcome because I won't be impartial in the face of something so inhumane. If you truly believe in an eye for an eye, then keep that same energy for legalizing rape as punishment against rapists. Legalized torture punishment for those who have tortured ect.

I feel her pain and my goes out to her and other victims families but you cant mad at the verdict when racist and corrupted Police officers gets way less harsher punishment than this including those officers that murdered brianna Taylor have yet to be trialed and convicted. I Think personally have no problem with the outcome of the verdict because atleast justice is served and He Will spend the rest of his life behind bars people need to stop acting like he is getting special treatment period!
