Really cool art work. 2 thoughts, 1 as she was blowing the white for the waves , the pattern maked me think if done with orange red and black would make killer flames and 2, some tan and sand colors on the under side would give a piece like that some depth and realism. Awsone piece, going to give these a shot.
    Love the channel!

Erika you knocked it out of the park once again girl, you rock! You have inspired me to give a glass top a go, after a few more practice runs with wooden charcuterie boards and wooden table tops. I love oceans and beaches and that is why I decided a couple of months a go to venture into ocean inspired art in the first place. I love watching you work and I have learnt so much. Thank you. Jeff you also did an awesome job with the board, so flippin talented, I wish I had an ounce of you talent, the thought of attempting spray painting scares the life out of me more than playing with resin lol

To answer the question about sand, I would tape off the resin portion along the front edge, put down some spray adhesive on the clear section, and generously add playground sand that has been vinegar-washed, rinsed, and oven dried. Then once totally dry, I would do a second round of the same. Then I would go over either just the sanded area or the whole thing with a layer of clear resin.
I say playground sand (purchased from a home improvement store) for 2 reasons: 1) if that glass ever leaves Hawai'i and beach sand has been used, that is kapu, and 2) playground sand will be free of mold, bacteria, and small bugs that may ruin the sandy part.

My 3 favs!!! ATD, RK3 and SCC all in one !! Such a treat today... Question 1: did you guys put a clear flood coat over the epoxy so it didn't scratch? Question 2: do you think those mini art blowers would work, or is thqt more like a heat/hairdryer gun?? I'm short, 5'2", which Dewalt did you use? I could go look at it at HOME DEPOT... thanks!!

You can do smaller pours, get a cheap picture (framed glass) from goodwill, or buy clear acrylic from eBay. The resin will be the most expensive (check craft stores for sales, search for prices) usually 16oz for around $15-20. And then play. You can use clear glitter, alcohol ink is $3-4. Some come in sets for around $12. You’ll be better off getting a heat gun than using a blow dryer, but use what you have. That way you remove “one day”, and create art.
